Episode six of the Emmy Award winning series will feature Crown Point Cabinetry designer Tamara Raymond, as she discusses the kitchen design of the Newton Centre Project.  Our cabinetmakers are building custom white Farrow & Ball painted cabinetry for the 1915 Dutch Colonial Revival home in Newton Centre, Massachusetts.

This is not the first time Crown Point has been featured on This Old House.  Last year, Norm Abram and his film crew visited the Claremont facility to take a look at cabinetry being built for the Weston, Massachusetts house.   Norm’s shop tour was featured on This Old House shortly thereafter.

New Hampshire Public Television will air episode six on Saturday, November 14 at 4:00 pm, and again on Sunday, November 15 at 1:00pm.  Check your local listings for date and time in your area.

Future episodes airing at a later date will show the actual installation of the Crown Point Cabinetry, as well as the finished kitchen.  As always, we’ll keep you posted!

Before the renovation, this Maryland kitchen was dark and lacked contrast.

The homeowners of this basic white kitchen knew their space was in need of a makeover.  Their dream was to create an inviting, period style kitchen where they could gather together as a family-they came to the right place!  Crown Point designer Peter Ippedico guided them in the cabinetry design and layout of the transformed kitchen pictured in the “after” shot below.

Frameless Quartersawn Red Oak cabinetry gives the space warmth and timeless character, and the contrasting island provides a pop of color.

Frameless cabinetry in Quartersawn Red Oak warms up the kitchen, creating an inviting space for guests and chefs alike.   The light blue island incorporates a burst of understated color, while also providing ample workspace in the center of the room.  Design details such as true lite muntin doors, beadboard  and decorative moulding provide the period style charm they were looking for.

In their own words, the homeowners let us know just how much they love their new kitchen:

“Thanks for rescuing us from a very close call with mediocre cabinetry.  We knew our kitchen would be beautiful once we saw the sample door, but the finished product exceeded our expectations.  The Crown Point cabinets really look like they belong in our old farmhouse.  We could not have gotten this period look with the other brands we were considering.  It’s nice too that I can store my heavy pots and 50-lb flour bins in the cabinets instead of on the floor or in a closet.”

Abode, a local full-service green home building company, is holding a Green By Design Open House this Saturday featuring a talk by Crown Point Designer, Nina Jordan!   Joining Nina will be several of New England’s top green experts in architectural, interior and landscape design, giving attendants a useful overview of green building and energy efficient living.

With Milk Painted Crown Point cabinetry as her backdrop in the model home, Nina will give a quick presentation about our family history, our philosophy, and our newest offerings in green cabinetry for your home.  Highlights of her speech will include the benefits of our eco-friendly Farrow & Ball finishes and details about our responsibly reclaimed Antique Woods.  She’ll also take the time to answer any questions you might have about our cabinetry, so feel free to ask!

The Plymouth New Hampshire Abode Model Home at dusk

The Abode Model home, located at 568 Tenney Mountain Highway, Plymouth, New Hampshire, will be open to the public on Saturday, October 10th from 1:00pm-4:00 pm.   Presentations will go on throughout the afternoon while a BBQ and entertainment round out the day!  We hope you can make it!

This beautiful Crown Point Kitchen will be featured as a stop on the "A Taste of Glen Ridge" kitchen tour this weekend!

Two separate fundraising kitchen tours in New Jersey will feature a beautiful Crown Point kitchen this weekend!  Crown Point Cabinetry is a proud sponsor of both events  and will have a Crown Point Designer on hand at each location to answer any questions and offer up cabinetry design advice for every room in your home.

The first is the “Hearth & Home Kitchen Tour” in Westfield on Saturday, October 3rd from 10:00am to 4:00pm.  The featured kitchen in this tour boasts cherry cabinetry, accented with a Pitch Black over Barn Red island.  This tour will benefit the Holy Trinity Interparochial School in Westfield.  Crown Point Designer, Bob Davis, will be on-site to answer any questions you might have about our cabinetry.

The second tour will be “A Taste of Glen Ridge Kitchen Tour” in Glen Ridge on Sunday, October 4th from 12:00am-4:00pm.  Ticketholders will tour the kitchen pictured above featuring Paper White cabinetry, leaded glass doors and a beautiful all-wood island top.  Funds raised that day will benefit the Glen Ridge Public Schools.  Crown Point Designer, Karen Laskoske, will be there to provide advice in the planning and design of cabinetry for all rooms.

About twice a month, we like to get out on the road to photograph installed Crown Point kitchens. Our photography team, Photographer/Crown Point Creative Director Jeffrey Stowell, Stylist Luciana Frigerio and PR Specialist/Photo Assistant Stacey Nachajski headed down to Boston yesterday to photograph an impressive kitchen that had been painstakingly finished on site by the homeowner.

After wrestling with city traffic our team began a busy day of taking shot after shot, adjusting the lighting, propping, and making sure everything was just so.  Believe it or not, it takes a full business day (about 7 or 8 hours) to get 8 or 9 great shots!

We always look forward to getting out there and seeing the finished product.  We especially enjoy meeting with the clients face to face, and seeing that they’re using and enjoying their Crown Point Cabinetry.

We’ve handcrafted the authentic, honest-to-goodness barnboard lumber (reclaimed by the good folks at Carlisle Wide Plank floors) into posts and horizontal runners for cabinets that feature our frameless construction! The island itself will contain an oven on one end, and a cooktop in the center area. (Note: The brackets you currently see under the cabinetry won’t be necessary once the cabinets are installed into the client’s home.)
