Many loyal readers have asked why posting on CrownDozen has crawled to molasses-like speeds recently and while I can't nail it down to one or even a few specific things, I can say that personally it just wasn't fast enough anymore when I wanted to put something up.
To remedy this we first thought of moving CrownDozen to a few other content management systems, but none really seemed to work well enough for us. After a few re-envisionings failed the frustration settled in and we thus settled on, you guessed it, a Tumblr site - they just make it sooooo damn easy.
Our move to Tumblr is indeed temporary and will only be done while we begin a very real rebuilding and revamp of CrownDozen for the first time in SEVEN years, so that we may continue to keep you guys updated on all the things we love, only much more easily and thus much, much more often.
I must say that in an age where web design turns stale in nanoseconds, I still believe the design of CrownDozen stands up quite well today, and thus we're having a hard time moving all the posts to a new site. We're going to leave the "old" site as is for the time being, and while the CrownDozen.com URL will continue to direct you to the "old" site, most all new posts will appear at CrownDozen.tumblr.com for now (the RSS feed will now incorporate both sites).
So hook up a new bookmark, enjoy the new posts, and let us know if you have any questions or input! Keep in mind the new Tumblr site is indeed a work-in-progress, so be easy ;)

Kinda super-loving this new leak from Ratatat, their 'LP4', which was supposed to have been released after 'LP3' a few years back, but for some reason never was. It's a pretty straight-forward Ratatat record with a couple oddball tracks welcome-ly veering a bit left of their normal sound, nothing too new or wildly adventurious, but a very nice addition to the collection of we Ratatat fanatics. We're loving it thru and thru.
