PAGAN ALTAR “Time Lord” Ep to be released by Cruz del Sur Music!!

CRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC is proud to announce the European release of PAGAN ALTAR’s “The Time Lord” EP for the first time on cd format!

PAGAN ALTAR is a legendary dark metal band hailing from UK, led by Terry (vocals) and Alan (guitar) Jones. Formed in the late 70s, PAGAN ALTAR wasn’t able to gain the success they deserved during the NWOBHM explosion, being their proposal quite out of the Metal classic schemes of those days. As a consequence, the band was put on hiatus.

Nevertheless, their cult-status only grew stronger with time, and definitely exploded in 1998 with the official re-release of “Volume I”, the only album recorded by the band at that time, which never saw the light, except for a bootlegged tape. The release of “Volume I” brought interest upon the band, generating a renewed enthusiasm for the band’s leading members. The reformed Pagan Altar thus recorded and released two more full-length albums, “Lords of Hypocrisy” and “Mythical and Magical” in 2004 and 2006 respectively. They are also about to release a totally new album, aptly titled “Never Quite Dead” (a word pun which quite sums up their career) in the second half of 2012.

“The Time Lord” collects material written and recorded in 1978 and 1979 in different studios, and later saved for posterity on cassette format only (thus the “original” sound quality of this release).

So far this EP has only been released on vinyl format, originally by I HATE RECORDS in 2004, and later by BURIED BY TIME AND DUST in 2011. Both editions were quickly sold out. The cover used for this cd-release is the same as the BBTD release with a special artwork created by renewed artist Andrei Bouzikov – who successfully represents the Melrose Abbey in Scotland, (reputed) burial place of 13th century wizard Michael Scot.

Cruz Del Sur Music will release “Time Lord” and the whole PAGAN ALTAR catalog in collaboration with US label Shadow Kingdom, which will be responsible for the American editions.

BIBLE OF THE DEVIL: A First sample of Upcoming Album “For the Love of Thugs and Fools”

As the release date of their new album draws closer, Chicago’s rockers BIBLE OF THE DEVIL offer a first sample off “For the Love of Thugs and Fools” to their fans.

“The Parcher” can be heard at Cruz Del Sur Music’s Bandcamp, complete with lyrics.

“For the Love of Thugs and Fools” will be released 8^th of May in US/Canada and 8^th of June in Europe on Cruz Del Sur Music. The album will be the first of Cruz Del Sur Music’s releases to be distributed in Germany and other European countries through label’s new partner, Soulfood Music.

Keep in mind that Bible of the Devil have also announced a 14-date U.S. tour in support of their forthcoming release. Another European tour to start next October will be confirmed and announced shortly . Cruz del Sur Music to re-release THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG album on vinyl

Originally released in 1996, THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG self-titled debut album has been out of print for a long time.

This seminal heavy metal record was firstly only self-released on CD; it was then re-released twice on CD and vinyl by Miskatonic and Metal Supremacy, always in limited editions, which sold-out very quickly.

CRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC is now proud to make this release newly available, this time in an elegant and classy matt-varnished gatefold edition which comes with lyrics and a dedicated artwork created specifically by Eyedolatry Design to render homage to LeBrocquy’s “The Táin” original illustration. This edition has been specifically cut to 45 RPM for a better sound-rendering, and constitutes the final edition of a great record which is finally on offer again for the fans.

The release date is set for the 30^th of March; pre-orders will start on the 1^st of March on Cruz Del Sur Music Store

PHARAOH “Bury the Light” CD and Vinyl Pre-order

Finally, the pressing plant has confirmed that the bulk copies of PHARAOH’s “Bury the Light” CD have been shipped and will reach Cruz del Sur Music’s headquarers next week (transportation limited by bad weather permitting). We can therefore start taking pre-orders, which will be shipped approximately from the 17th of February (one week before the official European release-date).

The album will be also available in a vinyl version, in collaboration with High Roller Records.
The release-date is set for the first two weeks of March (around the 10th), but due to the limited amount of copies available (150 on purple vinyl – 350 on black vinyl total), we will open pre-orders now as well.
Please mind that if you order the CD + the VINYL, the order will be sent out only when the VINYL will be available for shipment.
There’s also a special option to buy “Bury the Light” on CD together with the “Ten Years” EP and save 3,00€.

PHARAOH’s new song “Burn With Me” now available in streaming

A free streaming of a second advance track taken from the upcoming PHARAOH album “Bury the Light” is now available on Cruz Del Sur Music’s bandcamp and Facebook page.

“Burn With Me” is probably the most in-your-face song on the album, and it is actually a reworking of the High Spirits‘ demo song “Set Me Free”.

“Bury the LIght” will be released on the 24th of February in Europe, and on the 6th of March in the United States/Canada.

What’s in store for the listener? Guitarist Matt Johnsen explains: “We tried to add more textural elements to our songs while continuing to cut as much extraneous material as possible. The songs on this album are dense, but hopefully they never overstay their welcome. The basic template is the same as on Be Gone, but the album is less dark overall, and perhaps a little faster. I think anyone who stuck it out with us after we shed the remainders of our obvious Iron Maiden worship after The Longest Night will be happy with our progression on this album. It’s still crammed full of traditional elements, of course, but we’re not trying to be retro or old-fashioned. We want to move melodic metal forward.”

Bible of the Devil is set to have its sixth album released on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012, via Rome, Italy based label Cruz Del Sur Music.

Veteran Chicago Rock n’ Roll band Bible of the Devil have announced the completion of their sixth full-length album and third for Rome, Italy, based label Cruz Del Sur Music. Entitled “For the Love of Thugs and Fools”, Bible of the Devil’s eagerly anticipated follow-up to their 2008 release,” Freedom Metal”, is an assembly of raging Rock n’ Roll songs that encapsulate the band’s saga musically and personally over the years since the last full-length. Returning to Phantom Manor studios in Chicago to work with engineer Mike Lust, who has engineered numerous BOTD recordings in the past, the band sought to emphasize their trademark bludgeoning two-guitar attack and mammoth hooks with an increased attention to soaring, anthemic vocals.

“For the Love of Thugs and Fools” is viewed by the band as a document of the many characters they have encountered through the life of the band, whether it be in love, loss, friendship, or hatred. Having toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe since the band’s inception in late 1999 and living in the volatile urban environment Chicago, where encounters with crime, violence, and ’street justice’ are unavoidable, there has been much subject matter for the band to draw from. Embracing the philosophy that a bottle of whiskey and some loud guitar is often the best cure available for these challenges and ordeals, Bible of the Devil have chosen to document their grievances in the form of one devastating Rock n’ Roll platter. Said singer/guitarist Mark Hoffmann, “The few years since the last full-length have been like a dare. A dare to create a soaring, punishing Rock n’ Roll record of this magnitude. It is a dare that we have been forced to answer ourselves.” Fans of Bible of the Devil can expect yet another collection of fist-pumping heavy guitar classics-in-the-making, For the Love of Thugs and Fools.
