Crystal soil is a water absorbent polymer used to pot plants and flowers. The Water crystals as they are sometimes called come in different colours and are packed in small 10g packs. Crystal soil can be used for all occasions and are often used for wedding floral arrangements and indoor decorations. Indoor house plants thrive in crystal soil and its exotic colours will add that extra beauty to your home.

Crystal soil is not only aesthetic however but functional.Simply hydrate the crystals in water and within eight to ten hours it will absorb the water and expand to it full size. Drain the excess water and empty the crystals into a vase and put your plants and flowers as required.

It is also a good idea to add fertiliser to the water when hydrating crystal soil, this will ensure that crystal soil does not only release water to the plants from its microscopic holes but also food.

Indoor plants grow more vigorously and healthy in crystal soil because the plants do not over feed or drink more water than is necessary which can cause poor health and even result in premature death.

Other benefits of crystal soil is you do not have to water the plants on a daily or weekly basis. Once you use crystal soil to poy your plants you do not have to water your plants for months. This is perfect when you are on holiday as you no longer have to worry about watering your plants as they are well taken care of.

Crystal soil is not only ideal for indoor plants but for cut flowers. Bought cut flowers recently? dont last for more than a few days? Then use crystal soil to prolong the live of your cut flowers.

Crystal soil has other uses other than potting plants and cut flowers, they can be used for you mantel or centrepieces to add that extra decor and interior finish to your home. They are cheaper than marbles, come in assorted colours and are more functional and aesthetic than marbles.

Crystal soil can also be used as a soil additive, rather than water your plants constantly you can add crystal soil to the soil which will keep the soil moist.this is especially good for your hanging plant and flower baskets. The many uses of crystal soil makes crystal soil perfect for all occasions and uses.

water crystals is the ideal mothers day gift on mothers day. Don't buy flowers without it.

Mothers day celebration is a special occasion for mothers and their children. No matter how big we get , no matter how independent we all have a special place for our mothers. And that’s why this mothers day lets do more than the routine buying of flowers for our mothers. Lets get them something novel and exciting.

By all means get the flowers but dont be the only one to get a bouquet of flowers without water crystals. Water crystals also go by the name crystal soil, crystal mud, water beads and water gel beads. But they all refer to the same colourful water absorbent polymers which are as small as sesame seeds but when soaked in water expand to over 150% their original size. once expanded all you need do is drain out the excess water and pot your cut flowers or indoor plants.

Water crystals is a form of hydroculture or hydroponics which is the method of growing plants without soil.Over the centuries it has been proven plants do not need soil to grow and water crystals is proof of that

Water crystals have been around for some time but have not been readily available.Florist tend to use them for wedding table arrangements but never sell them directly to consumers.

However now water crystals can easily be obtained and whats more they are easy to prepare.simply open the packet and drop the seeds in water and watch them grow and grow and grow.

So if you are looking for somthing special on mothers day, something that will arouse your mothers curiosity. An item that is inexpensive, aesthetic and functional then water crystals is ideal.

Whats more water crystals are translucent, bio-degradable, odourless, non-toxic, re-usable and environmentally friendly. Water crystals will keep your flowers and plants healthier than traditional methods and reduces watering by more than 80%. In other words you can leave your plants without water for months at a time. Ideal for when you go on vacation or if you have no idea how often to water the plants.when using water crystals this problem is non-existent as the water crystals will gradually release water as well as feed or fertilizer to the plants when needed.

Looking for a simple way to go green then get some indoor house plants and Water crystals. When indoor plants breath they take in air pollution and pass them through their roots thereby improving air quality in your room.

Looking for a simple way to go green then get some indoor house plants and Water crystals. When indoor plants breath they take in air pollution and pass them through their roots thereby improving air quality in your room.

In addition to indoor plants you will need water crystals. Water Crystals are super absorbent polymer that can be used as a soil substitute in place of water and soil and whats more it’s aesthetic as it comes in a range of colours and environmentally friendly.Other characteristics of water crystals are it’s non-toxic, biodegradable, reusable and odourless.

Typically when you pot plants in a flowering pot the mud used attracts bugs, flys and could become a breeding ground for mosquitoes as well as good and bad bacteria. The bad bacteria is bad for plants and causes plant diseases. Therefore if you want dirt free, odourless,non-toxic cultivation, water crystals is your answer.

Water as we know is good for plants but like fire it is a good friend and a bad enemy. If you add too much water you starve the plant of oxygen and if you add too little you weaken the plant. Furthermore water left to stand in a vase or pot becomes stale and fouls the air and you defeat the purpose of having indoor plants.

Water Crystals on the other hand absorb the water during hydration and releases it when required by the plant. You can also add fertiliser during hydration and the water crystals will release both feed and water.

The complete solution for going green with your house plants is to use water crystals because of their many advantages. The combination of indoor plants and water crystals is all what going green is all about.

The most suitable plants to grow in water crystals are plants that like humidity indirect sunshine. This is typical of many indoor plants.

Here are a few plants that will grow will in water crystals, Palm species, Arrowroot species,Stone garlic species,Iron species, Bamboo species,Dasheen species, Arrowroot, Bamboo, Pothos, Pineapple department, Chinese Evergreen, Dragon plant, Rich Bamboo, lucku Bamboo, lilies, paso doble, amaryllis, tulip, Dralaena, Fern, Palm, spider plants,Defenbachia,Philodendrons to mention just a few. This is by no means exhaustive and there is no harm in experimenting. You can find a step by step guide on how to pot plants in water crystals here.

Water crystals aka crystal soil is a colourful, bio-degradable, translucent and odourless replacement for soil. The water crystals can store water for up to 8 weeks as it gradually releases water to plants when needed. This ideal way of watering prevent mould and mildew as well as plant decay as the water does not stand in the pot.

This solution is ideal when on vacation or you want an exotic finish to your flower arrangements.Water crystals is easy to prepare.simply place water crystals in a bowl and pour in water and leave for between 6/8 hours.

Water crystals are made from polyacrylamide a non-toxic biodegradable substance that will help nourish and water your plants and cut flower. Plants potted in water crystals benefit from vigrous growth which is devoid from tradtional methods

The water crystals will expand to up 150 times their original size and once expanded will look like coloured jelly balls and when potted in a clear vase will look crystalised. It is not only a substitute for soil which is messy, attracts flys and bugs and foul smell. But is a more than an able replacement for marbles which are not as exotic and are expensive. Water crystals are perfectly suited for table centrepieces and flower arrangements as well as wedding decorations, table decorations and centrepiece wedding etc

Use water crystals for your cut flowers and plants as well as for your floating candle arrangements.

Over the years i have been asked so many questions about water crystals such as what are water crystals? Are water crystal safe? so i have take sometime to answer some of the questions here. please read on.

Feel free to post and comments and questions and i will be sure to respond to them.

What are Water Crystals?

Water crystals is a water absorbent polymer. You can use it in place of soil for your houseplants and in place of water for your cut flowers. Crystal Soil can also be used as a novelty/home decor product.

What kind of water is best used with water crystals?

Any water will do. water directly from the tap.Distilled water or boiled water The “more pure” the water, the larger the crystal will grow. Boil your water and add to crystals. The warm water will make your crystals form faster.

How much water should I use with water crystals

For 10 gram pearl crystals use 500ml of water
For 10 gram cube crystals used 1 litre of water.
How long do I let the crystals sit in the water?
6 to 8 hours or over night

Why do plants live in water crystals?

All plants need to grow is water, air and nutrients. Water crystals provides the water and basic air & nutrients to plant so your plant will thrive! For vigorous growth add fertilizer to water when hydrating the crystals.

Do Water crystals prevent mould and mildew?

Water Crystals eliminates mould and mildew. Since the water remains in the crystals until plants need it! In this way, there is no chance for mould, mildew or even root rot to develop.

What plants work best with water crystals?

The most commonly grown house plants used are: Spider plants, Dumb Cane, Algerian Ivy, Cordatum, Heart Leaf Philodendron, Marble Queen, Gold Dust Ivy, Gold Dust Pothos, Peace Lily, Caladiums, Dragon Plants, Bromeliads, White Butterfly, Gold Dust Dracaena, Devil Ivy, Red Veined Prayer, Chinese Evergreen, Sander’s Dracaena, Arrow Head Vine, Nephythis, Peperonia, Ferns, Ti Plants and Palms. Plants such as cacti, succulents or orchids are not recommended.

How can I clean my water crystals when they get cloudy?

If your polymer crystals become discolored or cloudy, simply empty into a colander or strainer and thoroughly rinse with water then drain before re-using.

Is Water crystals a water absorbent polymer?

Polyacrylamide was developed in the 60’s to grow plants in the desert and has been refined to last longer and absorb water at higher rates. Scientifically it is a catalytically cracked natural gas and an acrylic solution.

Can I place candles into water crystals?

Water crystals work great with candles and floral arrangements.

How do I dispose of unwanted water crystals?

To dispose of unwanted water crystals, simply pour the crystals into flowerbeds, gardens or mix into soil. The crystals are great additive for potting and garden soils.Water Crystals is a non-toxic polymer substance that will not harm plants, grass or soil.

How long do water crystals last?

It can last up to 18 months more. Avoid direct sunlight.

What should I do if water crystals shrink and reduce in vase after 2-3 months?

Rehydrate the water crystals for 3/4 hours and they will return to previous size

Is water crystals safe and bio-degradable?

Water crystals is a polymer gel (cationic polyacrylamide) and is non-toxic, ecologically neutral; it breaks down after its useful working life to water, carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen. Although non-toxic it should never be consumed or taken internally in either its dry form or its expanded forms. Children should be supervised.

Water Crystals is another name for Crystal Soil.Water Crystals is a water absorbent polymer used for the growing of plants and for keeping cut flowers fresh for longer.

Water crystals is a form of hydoculture or hydroponics which is the method of growing plants without soil. It has been proven that plants do not need soil to grow.

The three main ingredients plants need to grow are light, water and air. These are essential for plants to make food for themselves. Soil is only necessary to hold plants in place so they do not fall over. Water crystals can hold the plants up as do marbles. But water crystals are much better than marbles in that they have aesthetic and functional value.

The aesthetics of Crystal Water is clear for everyone to see. Its functional benefits derives from the contents of crystal Water. Many contents of soil can be found in Crystal Water. Whats more they contain microscopic holes that release water and feed when absorbed during hydration of water crystals

The roots of the plants actively seek out the water and feed in Crystal water so the plants have a steady supply of water and feed contained in Crystal Water when needed. When Water crystals decrease in size simply rehydrate and use again.

Water Crystals reduce water wastage, increase the time between waterings and promote improved plant survival during dry times. The crystals are effective for up to 18 months and then biodegrade harmlessly.

Water pearls are bio-degradable,environmentally friendly and non-toxic and willl not harm children or pets.

Water pearls is best placed in wide vases. The wider the vases the fuller the form of the water pearls. Vases which are narrower will cause the water pearls to look watery or deformed in their vases. Use square vases or circular vases but that are wide and not narrow.

When hydrating water pearls remember more water is better than less.

Keep water pearls away from direct sunlight as this will discolour them.

Water Pearls hydrated in hot water hydrate in half the time.

If water pearls become dusty or cloudy rinse them.

You can Layer or mix colours for stunning effects. When layering hydrate colours separately.

Rehydrate water pearls in water for approximately 3 hours when the balls reduce in size.

Water pearls are bio-degradable, environmentally friendly and non-toxic and will not harm children or pets.

The following plants grow best in water pearls:Spider plants, Dumb Cane, Algerian Ivy, Cordatum, Heart Leaf Philodendron, Marble Queen, Gold Dust Ivy, Gold Dust Pothos, Peace Lily, Caladiums, Dragon Plants, Bromeliads, White Butterfly, Gold Dust Dracaena, Devil Ivy, Red Veined Prayer, Chinese Evergreen, Sander’s Dracaena, Arrow Head Vine, Nephythis, Peperonia, Ferns, Ti Plants and Palms. Plants such as cacti, succulents or orchids are not recommended.

Use water pearls for indoor plants only.

Water pearls aka water retaining gel aka water retaining polymers aka water retaining gel crystals aka water retaining granules are one and the same. They are more often known by the name water pearls. water pearls are water absorbent gel like polymers which expand when hydrated and increase to over 150% their original size.

The water retaining polymers can be used for plants and cut flowers as well as for interior decorative purposes as they come in a range of assorted colours to match ones taste and decor.

Water pearls can also function as a soil additive. Other than potting your plants and cut flowers in water pearls for decorative purposes you can add the water pearls to your pot plants such as hanging baskets to help maintain moisture in the soil and reduce watering frequency. If you have plants that require plenty of water then the water retaining water pearls are just right.

Using water pearls ensure your plants never lack water even when you are on vacation and will ensure your plants drink adequate water as and when it is required.Using water pearls will make your plants grow more healthy whether or not you choose to use them as a soil additive or in place of soil altogether.
