Juried by ceramic artist and potter Bill Reddick, the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop features its members' best works in its exhibition, Earthborn 2012.

It is open Tuesday to Friday, from 11 am to 6 pm, Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sundays 1 to 5 pm. Admission to the Gallery is free.

The Clay & Glass is pleased present three exhibitions opening May 4:

Man or Myth: Explorations on Masculinity

Three artists explore their personal relationships with the traditional notions of masculinity and how this identity can be a fluid one. The Croatian-born Srdjan Segan’s 40-foot elongated clay site-specific sculpture and 30-foot long drawings of the ‘every-human’ pulls from his war experiences while a refugee during the Serbo-Croatian war. Meanwhile, Clint Neufeld’s series of slip-cast ceramic auto transmissions and parts are decorated with delicate Rococo filigree and ornamentation. Finally, the infamous ceramic sculptor, Léopold L. Foulem unveils his latest works, in which the figurine—a trivial cultural object—powerfully challenges the status quo.

Wellington Artists’ Gallery, 6142 Wellington Rd 29, RR4 Fergus is pleased to present new works by potter Dorothy Collin during her new show May 26 to June 29. Dorothy has been influenced in clay through many courses and workshops. She is a charter member of Mississauga Potters Guild and Ontario Clay & Glass. Her work, both functional and whimsical is produced in her studio at the Bed and Breakfast she and her husband George run at Maplecrest Farm, 6827 2nd Line RR4, Fergus.

Wellington Artists’ Gallery and Art Centre, 6142 Wellington Rd 29, Fergus features the work of Denis Hopkins from May 26 to June 29.

Denis Hopkins has studied still life and figurative painting for many years in France. Denis’s still life paintings are rich, colourful and so highly detailed that one sometimes feels the urge to pick the fruit off the canvas. They include images of exquisite artifacts collected over the years, copper, brass and pewter pots, vases and ancient china and glass vessels, all of which enrich the still life paintings.

Interrupted Patterns is an exhibit of etchings, lithographs, and monoprints hand-printed onto fine Japanese papers by artist Pamela Lobb. Subsequently moulded together with fabric, the end result is reminiscent of fine porcelain.

KWSA has recently been nominated in the Visual Arts category for the 24th Annual Arts Awards Waterloo Region. We bring together people of all levels of artistic achievement, from emerging artists to award winning professionals. KWSA is proud to mentor and celebrate the triumphs of every individual artist.

The public is invited to attend our Opening Reception on Friday, June 8, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, as well as to visit the show from June 6 to June 30: The Button Factory, 25 Regina St. S., Waterloo, Ontario.
