WiFi is NOT killed at Gotham. It's turned on after 4pm weekdays, and sometimes it's on all day, if they forget to turn it off the night before. It's also on all day on the weekends.

spending a beautiful sunny day in the village - super friendly service. great iced tea. laid back atmosphere with chill music. wifi that works. what else can you ask for?!? definitely recommend tea spot! :)

Rude male staff, suddenly not honoring loyalty drink cards, saw human hairs on a piece of pie and a muffin on separate occasions. Disgusting. I'm a neighborhood native for 15 years, loved Rohrs', but no more. Will not be back.

This is a great little spot on the corner of 71st & Lex. The have a wide range of beverages, and the finest quality beans available. Just go on it, you will be overwhelmed at the selections and aromas of the beans - there must be 30 huge jars of freshly roasted beans !

The managers are great. One named Dion is especially helpful and pleasant with customers. !

I would go here anytime!

NO FREE WIFI. Also, they have signs on every regular table that say "NO COMPUTER USE." You have to go a "communal table." This place sucks for students.

This place blows!!!!!!!!!! The decor fools everyone at the door, and most people fall for it. The "guy-in-charge" is a douche bag, doesn't know how to run a decent coffee joint. Bottom line, this place succeeds ONLY because they're the only thing around. Compared to other legit cafes, this one is a joke. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, unless you like to be taken for.

good coffee (and that's a soy latte for me) but it's idiotic that there are no power plugs. i'd rather pay an extra dollar for my coffee (or a power fee for that matter) than to have to leave because my laptop battery is drained.

It seems the search for the perfect cafe..remains a dream..
Is it possible to have comfortable cafe environment with friendly employees and a great latte?
I definitely haven't found it yet but Soleail coffee House comes close.
Delightful environment..wish I could find a place like this in manhattan.
Very few conventional tables..mostly comfy sofas and veranda style wicker chairs.
A very relaxing place to hang out.
the problem is I asked for a latte and though very kind, I'm not sure if the person behind the counter new what one was.
He eventually made it and it turns out he didn't .
The worst latte I've had in a while, though not his fault.
It's obvious he had no training in making espresso drinks.
sooo....great working environment, fun place to hang out on a lazy weekend, delightful employees but don't go for anything other then possibly drip coffee and a pastry.

Alice tea Cup...... Does not accommodate parties of 3's. On February 7, 2009 at 1:00pm, me and 2 of my friends waited to be seated at Alice Tea Cup (chapter 1) on 73rd and Columbus (Westside) for 2hours. While waiting we witness parties of 2 getting seated within 30 minutes or less. When we saw 2 parties of 2 leaving and the tables were right next to the other across the wall in the center, we thought finally we're next. Then to our surprise the hostess calls 2 sets of party's of 2's. When we questioned the hostess as to why we weren't being seated after waiting for 2HOURS. She said that there was a large party today that were taking up the tables that they had to accommodate and that she was not aware that we been waiting. Also she added that the 2 tables that were empty for parties of 2 were not suitable for 3 (those are for table of 2's). They made no a temp to accommodate us at all. After we had been waiting for 2 HOURS!!! I was so disappointed with Alice Tea cup management and table seating up service. My friends and I ended up leaving after 2hours and 15minute wait. I 'm very very displeased with the service I receive and will never go back to any to the Alice tea Cup restaurants again.

1 more thing I would like to add: they do not DO reservation for parties of 3 and less

I went in there today after walking around the village going from coffee shop to coffee shop looking for a place to plunk down, drink coffee and work on/ send out my resume. I just moved here and don't have my internet set up mind you so you can understand my desperation. Well everywhere I went I couldn't get a signal, or the signal I could get was password protected blah blah blah- I show up to Grey Dog Cafe and I ask at the counter "Do you have free wireless?" "No, but most people just steal a signal." "Okay, well do you mind if I check and see if I can get one and if I can I'll order something?" "Sure, go ahead." Well I check and hooray a signal! I then order some food and a drink because I feel certain that I won't be making the same mistake I made earlier where I assume that they will have wireless and only to find out after I have ordered that they do not. Okay here's the kicker: I set up shop, haven't even gotten my food yet when a waitress comes by "excuse me ma'am we don't allow laptops during peak hours." I closed my laptop, and was too dejected to argue. I'm one of those people who thinks of the perfect response hours later. Well on the way back to Brooklyn, I thought to point out the fact that since her coworker had not informed me of this policy when she full well new that wifi was my reason for staying then I shouldn't be expected to adhere to the (Bull$hit!) policy. I will finish with this last bit: I worked at a coffee shop and have no idea why someone quietly working on a computer can hinder the establishment's desired atmosphere! So be forwarned: ask first! then ask if NOW is a good time to use it!
