How to determine the maximum print size of your image using photoshop.
For your sticker to be the highest quality, we require a 300 dpi image.
If your image is larger than your desired sticker size, all you have to do is reduce your image size to achieve 300 dpi. If your image is smaller than your sticker size you cannot up-scale without loosing resolution, making it insufficient for printing..

I’ll show you how to rescale your image without loosing resolution. First, go to the image menu, and select the “image size” option.

As you can see the image size is rather large, but the resolution is not. Simply un-click the resample image button and change the resolution to 300. Now your sticker can print at 5 x 3.75 in or smaller and will look great!

Problems selling stickers at music venues:

1. Stickers are small, and when the stacks come un-organized they get hard to inventory and manage.
2. Low price point, bands want to sell stuff that costs $10 or more, like a $25 t-shirt, stickers cost $3.
3. Multiple versions, oh great, now the band has to keep track of several inventories of $3 items, everyone will want the one you don’t have and nobody will buy the one you have 4,000 of.

All-American Rejects solved this issue by printing a sticker sheet at StickerGiant. A sticker sheet is usually a rectangle (although it does not have to be) that has several separate stickers on the sheet (kiss-cut) that can be peeled and stuck individually.

Advantages of selling sheets of stickers at music venues:

1. Sticker sheets are easy to keep organized and inventoried in a hectic selling atmosphere.
2. Higher price point, getting $10-$15 for a sticker sheet is much better than selling one $3 sticker.
3. Multiple stickers per sheet keep your fans happy with variety, yet makes managing inventory simple.

Avoid having to find and send fonts to your printer with Illustrator files.
For printers to use Illustrator files that contain type made with fonts they either need the actual font file or the fonts need to be outlined.
First open the file that you need to outline the fonts in, select the type that needs to be outlined.
Then go to the font menu, and select the “outline fonts” option.
Then save your file.
Now you don’t have to hunt down the fonts to send to your printer.

The team at backtype needed stickers, so we did what we do best, made them stickers, so they could focus on their product. Give backtype a try it is pretty slick.

First we have Kerub , from Hebrew mythology, who is an angel that often mediates between the Divine and human. This praying Kerub has many eyes, which signifies a multiple awareness of the Creation.

 Amrita, from Hindu/Buddists mythology, is “the fluid of immortality”.  In this sticker we see the rare event of spiritual intelligence ascending to the Crown chakra thus beginning the flow of amrita, conferring not only longevity but everlasting youth. 

In Moon’s Road, from Celtic mythology, there is the depiction of a young Celtic shaman poised on a zig-zag trail lit by the moon light. He is ready for is journey to the underworld.

Melek Ta’us from Middle Eastern mythology, also referred to as “the Peacock Angel”, is the lover of the Goddess in the Feri tradition. This entity is also referred to as the God of the deepest self or “the Blue One”.

Finally we have the New Aeon Nataraj from the Vedic myths and cosmology. Nataraj means “Lord of the Dance” and refers to Shiva. New Aeon refers to the next phase of humankind’s collective spiritual growth. His left hand is in the mudra gesture signifying Simba (the lion) and his right hand is in the padma (the lotus).

Not only are these stickers full of vibrant color and visual movement but the each tell a signifigant story. They come to us at a time when many people are looking to a spiritual answer to the trials of life.

The cool team from The Shoppe Denver came to us for stickers, we love stickers, but rather than showing you a picture of the stickers, I thought I’d show you the actual cupcakes they brought us. I love them.

We visit the San Francisco Civic Center Victory Garden, Nuestras Raices, a community gardening group in western MA, and a single mother of twin boys in Sacramento, CA who fights city hall to keep her front yard garden.

The film allows these unique stories to be united through the narrative representation of a garden’s life cycle, paying close attention to the lives of some remarkable people who have succeeded at turning the old Victory Garden movement into a new and surprisingly successful reality.

They Might Be Giants (TMBG) is a double Grammy Award-winning American alternative rock band which began as a duo of John Flansburgh and John Linnell, and currently also includes Marty Beller, Dan Miller, and Danny Weinkauf. Formed in 1982, they are best known for an unconventional and experimental style of alternative music. The group has found success on the modern rock and CMJ charts, in the children’s music genre, and in theme music for several television programs and films.

TMBG’s best-known songs include “Birdhouse in Your Soul” and their cover version of “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)” (both from the 1990 album, Flood), “Don’t Let’s Start” (from 1986’s They Might Be Giants), and “Ana Ng” (from 1988’s Lincoln). Their appearances on the television show Tiny Toon Adventures also brought attention to their songs “Particle Man” and “Istanbul”. Their song “Doctor Worm” was a surprise hit in Australia, ranking 13th in the Triple J Hottest 100 for the year 1998. Two TMBG albums have been certified gold: Flood and the 2005 children’s music album Here Come the ABCs. Flood has also been certified platinum.

The team at KISSmetrics and I were discussing the difference between cheap digital stickers and high-end custom manufactured stickers and we came up with this project. This sticker is the KISSmetrics logo, done in 5 Pantone colors on a prismatic Mylar stock and topped with a domed epoxy clear coat.

The counter top display box that they printed for the milk chocolate boxes had a typo on it. On one panel it said “Dark Chocolate” instead of “Milk Chocolate” so we made a sticker that was designed to fit on the box in a design friendly way and cover up the typo.

The fix was a success, so look for these delicious chocolate cups in a health food store near you.

The solution, a shiny sticker on a red tube. We printed a 1-color blue on a standard “prismatic” foil stock, die-cut it into a special shape for the tubes and taa daa, a gift wrapped poster tube!
