Stepping out to promote her latest business venture, Cheryl Cole was spotted at the Westfield Shopping Centre in London, England. Clad in red hot pants and a white leather coat, the former “X Factor” babe happily greeted her excited fans who'd gathered to catch a glimpse of the famous singer.

Along with launching a pop-up shop featuring her new shoe collection, Ms Cole sat down for a two-hour meet and greet autograph signing session. Yesterday, Cheryl teamed up with Prince Charles in hopes of raising money for Britain's disadvantaged youth through their charity, The Prince's Trust.

Looking absolutely breathtaking in a floor-length white gown, Cheryl Cole turned heads upon arrival at the Savoy Hotel in London, England. The “Girls Aloud” beauty was in attendance for an event for her own charity,The Prince’s Trust, which helps to raise money for disadvantaged young people from her region of Northeast London.

The President of the charity, the Prince of Wales himself, joined Cole in making an appearance at the fundraiser, which is specifically called ‘Invest in Futures Gala Dinner.”Meanwhile, putting the kabash on recent rumors suggesting she’s headed back to the “X Factor,” Ms Cole recently tweeted, "X Factor was a great experience and time in my life and career but is now part of my past. Please #letsmoveonnow #newnewspls Zzzzz *yawns*."

Cheryl Cole is backed by Louis Walsh for X Factor comeback

Cheryl Cole may have been bumped off the judging panel of the American version of The X Factor by Simon Cowell, but all may not be lost for the 28-year-old Geordie.

Louis Walsh, her old pal, is fighting her corner for a place beside him on the next series of the British edition of the talent show. “I want Cheryl back,” he tells Mandrake at the Brits after-party hosted by Sony in Mayfair. “She’s a great judge and I miss her. I think the public feel the same.”

Cole’s departure from the American X Factor did not come as a complete surprise. Cat Deeley, who has herself enjoyed some success across the Pond, had told me: “As a Brit, I understand her perfectly, but I don’t know how Americans will do.”

Classless man

Romance is dead
Louis de Bernières is a modest chap. Currently promoting the film adaptation of his book, Red Dog, the author is asked if the romantic novel is a dying art form. “We haven’t had a great romantic novel for a very long time, too long,” he tells Mandrake. “The form’s not necessarily dead, but it’s dying. Thousands of romantic novels are pumped out every year, but one has to combine these stories with art. And that hasn’t happened for many, many years, not since Captain Corelli’s Mandolin was published, anyway.”The 57-year-old British novelist was, of course, the author of that work.

Did you forget about Cheryl’s debut in a Hollywood film? Yeah if we’re honest so did we, so just to refresh your memory – Chezza’s starring in a new film alongside the likes of Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez called What To Expect When You’re Expecting, which is all about (unsurprisingly) pregnant people.

Unfortunately Cheryl doesn’t have a big role in the movie, just a cameo as a talent judge. it’ll be a real stretch of her acting skills we know. A new trailer for the film featuring the singer in it has been released today - you can see a screen grab for it above however if you want to see the full preview click here and skip to around the 0.48 mark. Blink and you really will miss Cheryl, much like her appearance in the actual film we should imagine.

If you asked us who, in our wildest dreams, would make up the best celebrity friendship, we would probably say Pippa Middleton and Charlie Sheen (he’d really help her open up to the public, you know?). And after that, we’d go for Cheryl Cole and Rihanna.

So imagine how chuffed we were to discover that Cheryl and Rihanna are basically the best of pals after the following tweet that was made today. Cheryl wrote to the international star: “Happy Birthday @rihanna . Hope you have a Special birthday #CAKE ”.

OK, so we might be getting a bit carried away, but stranger things have happened and there are plenty of reasons why Cheryl and Rihanna might actually be friends…

1. They’ve met at least three times.

2. Cheryl knew it was Rihanna’s birthday. Thoughtful.

3. Cheryl made a joke about her new single – Birthday Cake – and intertwined it with the fact that it’s Rihanna’s actual birthday. Banter.

4. Cheryl fell out with Cher Lloyd last week. She needs some new pals.

5. Rihanna’s best mate Katy Perry is nowhere to be seen. Time for a replacement.

Rihanna is yet to reply to Cheryl’s tweet, but she’s probably having a long nap after her massive birthday night out in LA. Just wait – Rihanna will see the tweet and write something witty back and by tomorrow night we’ll all be sat punching refresh and watching the beautiful friendship blossom.

Cheryl Cole was among scores of celebrities tuning in to the Whitney Houston funeral ceremony. The former X Factor judge tweeted: "There is nothing as angelic as the sound of a choir.. So beautiful and uplifting.. #SleepwiththeAngelsWhitney."

Fellow Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts also took to Twitter, saying: "Kevin Costner: "All those little girls dreaming of being you one day".. #WhitneyFuneral" Singer Alexandra Burke tweeted: "Wow. This is really something else. Trying to keep myself together. #RIPWhitneyHouston."

Sinitta tweeted: "Showing on E! Beautiful church service for the inimitable Whitney, so so loved, a real treasure." X Factor's Rebecca Ferguson tweeted: "Whitney Houston - what a god given gift. so rare just watching some performances such a one off legend!!! to be remembered for generations."Footballer Rio Ferdinand tweeted: "Watching the coverage of Whitney Houston. Cheryl Cole Completes Work On New Album

Cheryl Cole has revealed on Twitter that she has finished work on her third solo album. The Girls Aloud star, who has been slaving away over the project in Los Angeles, has now returned to the UK after completing the follow-up to her 2010 No.1 record, Messy Little Raindrops.

Chezza wasted no time in telling her fans that her work was done on the LP, tweeting: "There's no place like home *sighs*.. Fresh english air !! But where is the snow :(.. I was expecting an avalanche :'( (sic)"The former X Factor judge later added: "Yesss.! The album is DONE !!! *dancing all over the place* I'm Soooo HAPPY and EXCITED to share with you !! #CherylMusic on its way.. Booyaa"

Cole's GA bandmate Nicola Roberts was quick to comment on Cheryl's announcement, writing on her official Twitter page: "Soooooooooo excited for Chezza! That's our lady!"There is currently no word on when the Fight For This Love singer's new single and album will be released, with some reports suggesting her new material will be unveiled in the spring.

It is thought that Cheryl may debut the first cut from her new record on BBC talent show The Voice, with her manager Will.I.Am stating that the move would "p*ss off" Cheryl's former boss, Simon Cowell. In other Chezza news, the gorgeous Geordie appeared to hit out at her X Factor protégé Cher Lloyd on Twitter, after the 18-year old apparently criticised her singing abilities during a radio interview.

In a tweet thought to be aimed at Lloyd, Cheryl said: "Be Careful who you kick on your way up .. They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly."

Cheryl Cole has launched a veiled attack against her former X Factor protégé Cher Lloyd. The Girls Aloud singer took to her twitter account to post a cryptic message which appeared to warn the 'Swagger Jagger' hitmaker, who recently criticised the brunette beauty for miming in her performances, to "be careful" with her words and actions.

Cheryl tweeted: "Be Careful who you kick on your way up ... They kick you twice as hard on your way back down. #Unappreciationisugly. (sic)"Her message comes after Cher mocked her former mentor in a radio interview earlier this week. When asked whether she would ever perform with Cheryl, she replied: "Maybe, if she'd sing live with me."

And when questioned if the prospect of singing live could be a difficult one for the 'Promise This' singer, Cher replied: "Well it is nowadays, when you haven't got the nifty little button to press!"But when asked if she was talking about autotune she laughed and sarcastically replied: "What, oh no? Never, never ever!"

Cher recently revealed she hasn't heard from Cheryl - who quit her judging role on the 'X Factor' to become a panellist on the US version of the show before she was axed after just four audition rounds - since they worked together on the talent show in 2010. She explained: "Cheryl understood me and helped me a lot and so it's sad that I haven't heard from her. "But if she wants to give me a ring she can. If not, that's fine too."

Cheryl Cole ‘happy and excited’ as she reveals third album is ready

Missed the sound of Cheryl Cole’s dulcet tones blasting out your radio?

Fear not. The Geordie beauty has just announced her third album is complete and it’s safe to say she is a little bit excited about the new music. She Tweeted: “Yesss.! The album is DONE !!! *dancing all over the place* I’m Soooo HAPPY and EXCITED to share with you !! #CherylMusic on its way.. Booyaa.”

Booyaa indeed. Cheryl has been working on the record for months, spending a great deal of time in LA recording with a host of top producers, including Alex Da Kid and Patrizio Pigliapoco. Under the watchful eye of BFF and manager will.i.am, she is also thought to have worked with Usher and Taio Cruz. This is going to be some album!

One artist who won’t be featuring on Chezza’s third masterpiece is Cher Lloyd. The girls seemed inseparable when Cheryl mentored Cher during her stint on The X Factor in 2010, but since then they haven’t stayed in touch and Cher’s comments about Ms Cole haven’t exactly paved the way for a beautiful friendship.

Earlier in the week Cher was asked if she would consider a duet with Cheryl, to which she resplied: "Maybe if she sings live with me."When pushed to explain the comments during the Real Radio North West's Real Breakfast Show, which host Debbie Ousbey said sounded like a challenge to Cole, Cher responded: "Well it always is nowadays, when you haven't got the nifty little button to press."

When asked if she meant auto-tune, Lloyd laughed and added: "What, oh no? Never, never ever!" Put those claws away. Cheryl Cole, The Wanted And One Direction Wish Fans Happy Valentine's Day

Cheryl Cole is among the music stars who have taken to their Twitter accounts to wish their fans a happy Valentine's Day. The Wanted, Tinie Tempah and One Direction have also offered their best wishes.

Cheryl tweeted: "Happy Valentines Day #sexysoldiers.. Mwah x .""happy valentines day everyone, love you all so much.. if it wasnt for you there would be no 1D, xxxxx ," confessed Niall Horan of One Direction. The Wanted star Max George simply wrote: "Happy Valentines Day! X," with Tinie Tempah also keeping his message short, tweeting: "Happy Valentines day y'all..."

"Happy Valentines Day to all the cats around the world ILYSM .x.X.x.X.x," added 'All About Tonight' star Pixie Lott. There was also the offering of a Valentine's date from girl group The Saturdays who posted: "Happy Valentines Day guys...we love you loads! Any of you fancy being our valentine today??"
