Scarlett Johansson has praised stars including Beyonce and Sean Combs for injecting the “cool factor” into Barack Obama’s re-election campaign with a new range of clothes championing the president.

Beyonce and Combs are just two of the top designers involved in the Runway To Win fashion project, which features limited edition clothing and accessories emblazoned with pro-Obama slogans. Johansson helped launched the venture at a New York City party with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour on Tuesday (07Feb12) and discussed the power of fashion in garnering support for Obama as he runs for a second term in office.

She says, “I think the most important thing is that the fashion world has an international spotlight shown on it. To be able to use that spotlight on a cause like this is incredible… Conscious consumerism (and) any way to reintroduce that kind of cool factor (to Obama’s campaign) is very valuable… You have to voice your opinion.” Beyonce, Combs, Marc Jacobs, Russell Simmons, Vera Wang, and Diane von Furstenberg have all contributed designs for Obama’s fundraising initiative.

Scarlett Johansson has reportedly relaxed her gym routine thanks to her new-found "confidence" in her new relationship. The stunning star was spotted flaunting her gorgeous curves on a Hawaiian beach with new man Nate Naylor recently.

Scarlett - who wowed in a bright blue bikini - usually maintains her svelte figure with 20-minute workouts and a "controlled diet", according to sources. However friends close to the beauty say she has relaxed her healthy eating plans since falling for the 38-year-old advertising executive.

"Her weight fluctuates so she keeps her eye on what she eats. She's been slimmer, but it was hard to maintain and she's got the confidence to embrace her sexiness in relationships - she loves eating out, or staying in with pizza and wine," an insider told Closer magazine.

Scarlett was working out with trainer-to-the-stars Ramona Braganza before she began filming Under the Skin in Scotland last year. The fitness expert says the 27-year-old actress prefers to avoid cardio exercise.

"Scarlett's not a fan of running, but she got new sports shoes and it definitely helped," she told the publication. "When you get new gear, it takes your mind of exercise."Ramona added that Scarlett followed a healthy "home-cooked" meal plan while shooting for the movie.

Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow to get Avengers tie-in

Fans waiting for The Avengers movie will be able to see more of the Black Widow after Marvel announced the release of a comic book mini-series. The comics are described as 'an espionage thriller, giving readers their first full view of how lethal Black Widow can be.'

Marvel released a similar comic prequel to last year's Captain America: The First Avenger and writer Fred Van Lente said the comic books fit in well with Marvel's Cinematic Universe. He said: "Black Widow is running down some loose ends from Iron Man 2, namely some bootleg Stark technology that Justin Hammer made. It's her and Agent Coulson going into Russia, but you'll also probably see Nick Fury and the other heroes.

"I took my inspiration for this series from Joss Whedon’s script, which I was lucky enough to read. He does a good job making her inclusion on the team perfectly believable. "Its fun, and I think, more importantly, it works to get people who aren’t necessarily comic fans to read comics, and hopefully good comics. These are here to make a direct connection from the Marvel movies and the medium that inspired them."The Avengers movie is released on April 26.

Scarlett Johansson wore a bikini under her tank top yesterday when she stepped out to get tacos for lunch at Ono Char Burger in Hawaii. She's off on a week-long getaway with boyfriend Nate Naylor and some of their friends. They've been spotted hanging out on the beach, fishing, and having drinks on a chartered boat. Scarlett's buddies also kept the good times going at a birthday bash a few nights ago.

She and Nate cozied up for hugs and kisses, and he struck a funny pose when taking a group picture. Scarlett's off in the tropics enjoying a break after hanging out in NYC, where she cohosted an Obama fundraiser with Vogue's Anna Wintour last Tuesday. Once she's back on the mainland, Scarlett will begin switching gears into promotional mode ahead of The Avengers landing in theaters this Summer.

I’ve often wondered what happened to those involved in Once, that delightful low-budget Irish film about the romance between a Dublin busker and a Czech pianist and mother. It won an Oscar for Best Song – Falling Slowly.

Now its writer-director John Carney is set to make another movie with a musical background. Can a Song Save Your Life? will star Scarlett Johansson as a struggling singer and Mark Ruffalo (The Kids Are All Right, Shutter Island) as a record producer down on his luck. They meet and join forces, professionally and romantically.

It helps that Johansson has recorded two albums in her own right – one of them featuring covers of Tom Waits songs. Carney is composing the music for the film with Gregg Alexander, once frontman for the New Radicals, and a Grammy Award winner for songwriting.

British producer Luc Roeg’s career is moving into high gear since his triumph with the well-regarded We Need to Talk About Kevin – a Bafta nominee for outstanding British film, although it lost out to Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

He tells me his company, Independent, is adapting John Banville’s Man Booker Prize-winning novel The Sea, with shooting planned for late spring or early summer. Ciarán Hinds will star as Max, an Irish art historian reflecting on his past life and the deaths of people close to him.

After that, Roeg will collaborate with the great American director Michael Mann on Agincourt, based on Bernard Cornwell's historical novel about England’s famed victory over the French in the Hundred Years’ War. Mann usually shoots his films in the US, but this one will probably be shot in Eastern Europe.

That fabulously intense actor John Hawkes may have turned 50, but his career is flowering with a vengeance. Highly regarded for his recurring role on HBO’s brilliant western series Deadwood, and for
playing the menacing Teardrop in Winter’s Bone, he’s now been given a huge break as a leading man.
He’ll star in Switch, based on Elmore Leonard’s novel; the film is essentially a prequel to Jackie Brown, Quentin Tarantino’s terrific (and most underrated) movie from 1997. Hawkes will play career criminal Louis Gara, portrayed in Jackie Brown by Robert de Niro. Quite right too. If there’s any younger actor capable of stepping into de Niro’s shoes, I reckon Hawkes is the man.

Though they've just recently been seen in public together, sources say that Naylor, 37, and Johansson, 27, have been quietly dating for about five months.

"They want to keep it private," an insider told the NY Daily News. The We Bought a Zoo actress reportedly met the advertising executive, who's originally from Phoenix, Ariz., through mutual friends. "They were hot and heavy right off the bat," a source tells Us Weekly. In recent weeks, the pair has been spotted around New York City together -- and observers say that Scarlett seems crazy about him. A fellow patron at the speakeasy Please Don't Tell told Star that the actress looked "happy and in love" while drinking with Naylor and some friends.

"She was hanging all over Nate and shrieking and laughing at practically everything he said," said the witness. "Some of the other customers were actually getting annoyed at how loud she was!"In the past few months, Johansson has been busy shooting a new film in Scotland and promoting We Bought a Zoo in Europe. Now that she's back in the U.S., we can all expect to see more of her mysterious new beau. "Scarlett missed him while she was in Europe," says Us Weekly's source. Scarlett Johansson is causing some commotion by the ocean after engaging in major PDA with new beau Nate Naylor while on a Hawaiian getaway. The curvy actress, 27, donned a bright turqoise bikini and exchanged kisses with Naylor, 37, during a trip to the beach with friends Friday.

The two have been dating on the down-low for approximately five months, a source told the Daily News, but have only recently been spotted together in public. "They want to keep it private," the source told the News' Nancy Dillon when the pair were first snapped walking hand-in-hand through New York City.

Naylor, who works as an ad executive in the city, is reportedly "not one for the limelight and fame," an insider told RadarOnline.com, which is something "she likes" about him. A source told Us Weekly that the two "met through mutual friends" and have been "hot and heavy right off the bat."

In the photos from Hawaii, Naylor does indeed seem very hands-on, helping Johansson apply suntan lotion in one photo and keeping one hand on her lower back protectively in another. Following her split from husband Ryan Reynolds in December 2010, Johansson was linked to actor Sean Penn, 50. The two parted ways last summer.

The "We Bought a Zoo" actress is reportedly making up for lost time with Naylor now that she's completed her European press tour. "Scarlett missed him while she was in Europe," a source told Us Weekly. "Now they're really going to spend time together."
