Each of the spots that you can see below were directed by Larry Charles (Seinfeld, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm) so you know they are going to be funny. We love Larry and his work and the only thing that could of been better was having Larry David drinking the beer.

No suprise here. Bryan Colangelo is out as the GM in Toronto.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment President and CEO Tim Leiweke announced Tuesday that he has revamped the senior leadership of the Toronto Raptors in preparation for next season. Bryan Colangelo has had his contract extended as the team’s President and will report directly to Mr. Leiweke. The club has also created a new position of General Manager that will have final authority on all basketball-related decisions. At this time, with input from Colangelo, Leiweke is conducting a search to identify candidates and expects to name the new GM in the next 30 days.

“After thorough evaluation and considering all the options, we have concluded that these changes will be in the best interest of the organization,” said Leiweke. “By splitting the roles and having both men report directly to me, we are adding depth to the basketball operations group and giving the Toronto Raptors the best chance of competing for championships in the future. The new GM will inherit a great situation in Toronto, as all of my due diligence around the League indicates that we have a fine, young core and a few key moves will make us a playoff contender next season.”

While the General Manager will have autonomy over basketball decisions, Colangelo will continue to advise Leiweke on basketball-related matters while also broadening his involvement with the business side of the franchise. “The future of this team and this organization excites me more than ever, and I am looking forward to being part of our future success,” said Colangelo. “I will add whatever is necessary to help improve our basketball team while also expanding my efforts to increase brand awareness and influence growth of the game across this great country.”

“Bryan is skilled, knowledgeable and respected across the NBA and will be a resource that we count on to help build the Raptors into Canada’s team,” said Leiweke.

MLSE also announced that Leiweke would move up his official start date from July 1 to June 3 at the suggestion of the Board.

Seems the big guy is a fan of blow and there is a video out now to show it.

Los Angeles Lakers’ general manager, Mitch Kupchak, hopes Dwight Howard decides to stay with the team.

Howard moved to the Lakers to great fanfare last summer from Orlando Magic but has endured an underwhelming campaign in Los Angeles, despite being a popular figure with who bet on NBA.

The 27-year-old center has the option of becoming a free agent on 1st July but says he has not yet made up his mind as to what the future holds.

If Howard decides to stay with the Lakers, he can sign a five-year $118million contract extension, while the most he would receive if he were to leave is a four-year deal worth $87.6million.

“I know in my heart that this is a place where I think he should be,” Kupchak said to NBA betting news reporters. “We have a great legacy, great history of great players in this city dating back to when the franchise came here in 1960, and he certainly fits the mold.”

However, Howard was non-committal when asked about his future, after the Lakers’ play-off hopes had been ended by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round. He said: “I want to get away from everything and focus on me and making the decision for me and that’s not happening today.

“At the end of the day, I can’t control who likes me and who dislikes me, but I have the right to be happy.”

A host of clubs are expected to be interested in signing Howard if he decides to head for pastures new, with the Dallas Mavericks, the Houston Rockets, and the Cleveland Cavaliers all reportedly interested in securing his services.

Meanwhile, Howard may have to endure an operation on the shoulder that has been troubling him throughout the season. He has missed six games because of the injury but he did not suffer any repercussions after having back surgery 12 months ago.

Did you see that trainwreck out in Los Angeles? The season was about as bad as it could get for the Lakers.

And in our opinion, it was all because of Dwight Howard. Anywhere he goes, it turns to shit.

So now Dwight Howard has a decision to make and Steve Nash believes he knows what Superman will do.

Apparently Nash knows all.

Nash wants Howard to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite Dwight’s first season in Hollywood being described by the big man himself as a “nightmare,” Nash is confident that he’ll return.

Why? Because he believes Los Angeles is the place for Howard (via Mike Bresnahan of the The Los Angeles Times):

I’m very hopeful that Dwight will be back,” Nash said Monday. “I think this is the place for him. He’s in the prime of his career. He’s got his best years ahead of him. He can play for one of the greatest franchises in sports and an amazing city. This has got to be the place for him and I’m hopeful that he sees it that way.”

Not everyone in L.A. wants the big guy back. Bill Plaschke, also of the Los Angeles Times, is hopeful that the Lakers and Howard decide to part ways. He doesn’t believe that Howard can handle being the face of the Lakers. We agree. This is especially true in a town that is used to winning.

You can’t blame Kobe either. He does whatever it takes to win and that means playing with people or dragging them along.

So Nash wants him back. Does Kobe? Does Pau? Does Jaaaaaack?

If it were our team, we could cut him lose and start over. Funny how both Bynum and Howard are two of the most wanted big men, but at the same time, the two most overrated dudes going.

Whatever happens, it will be an interesting summer in Los Angeles. At least they have the Kings to watch.

Ah classic Raptors.

The season is over, the damage has been done and now it is time to stir up rumours to get fans excited again.

I mean, season tickets for next year are on sale soon I bet?

This whole story about Phil Jackson coming to the Raptors to be the President or white light, is so overblown. It was only last summer that the same kind of crazy story took over most of Canada. Steve Nash is coming to Toronto! Yeah, that was never going to happen.

Stevie burned us and used us as leverage to get the deal he wanted. Which by the way, I want to say Karma bitch. The Lakers season was a bust on a level rarely seen in sports. So this is the story that the always reliable ESPN is promoting.

According to ESPN.com, the Toronto Raptors have ramped up their pursuit of Phil Jackson to be their new team president. The former coaching guru had been linked to the Seattle group which was trying to move the Sacramento Kings to the Pacific Northwest. But now that the Kings appear to be staying in Sacramento, the Raptors front office position could be enough to entice Jackson north of the border.

Tim Leiweke is cited as one reason Toronto is once again firmly back in the Jackson sweepstakes. Big deal, so Timmy is in town.

Does not mean Phil all of a sudden wants to jump on board. It is still the Raptors. Now, do I think BC is still the man for the job? Kind of. I mean he is a name and he has not done that badly, but really, he is just keeping the seat warm until someone better is found. And there are not a lot of guys out there who would do better. Is Jackson one?

He has never run a team. He has never developed a team. All his success has been on the bench and for all those teams he had Michael, Scottie, Shaq or Kobe. So why Toronto? Why try your hand out with a team that has a track record of being less than average?

He could do the same with several teams in the US. He could probably roll into a job with the Lakers. I mean he is the Zen master. I think this story is a whole lot of nothing. A coincidence really. So, Toronto can pursue all they want. I think it looks good for the franchise to do it. It keeps BC on his toes.

But in the end, Phil will go elsewhere, BC will realize he is not wanted in TO and the Raptors will end up with Isiah Thomas or worse running the team. Hey it gets the Raptors on ESPN at least. Other than the occasional T-Ross slam, that can’t be said too often.

Both of the following ads have very silly jingles that make a person laugh as well as in a way poke fun at how over the top the male bathroom product industry is.

The first video called “Shower” features a guy who’s refreshing shower follows him throughout the day. Come on guys, that is what we wish for right? Feeling shower fresh all day long.

The second video is timely with the NBA Playoffs and is called “Watermelon”, which includes a surprise inside a basketball-shaped melon. Is there anything more refreshing than the smell of melon? Once only a girly smell, Old Spice is saying it is okay for a man to smell like a fruit.

With these commercials, Old Spice captures the corny/classic ads of the late 80s that many of us remember so well. Right down to the the pumped-up soundtrack of bad jingle music.

Old Spice’s New Bar Soap is available in scents like Fiji, Pure Sport and Swagger. Whichever one you choose, it’s “The Bar Soap You’ve Been Smelling For.”

This new soap is sure to please the more than 40% of dudes who prefer the classic feel of bar soap.

I for one have not been using bar soap for decades, so it is great to see more options out there. I have always loved Old Spice and I certainly don’t want to use the other big name that sounds like flax.
