Each visit we pick an off the charts wonderful place to dine. It&#8217;s usually something expensive that he most likely wouldn&#8217;t do on his own, I invite his two best friends from his first job in the city, and it&#8217;s my treat. I stay for nothing at his apartment so that we can spend the money on food and wine instead &#8211; and I&#8217;m sure that makes all the sense in the world to you foodies reading about this spot! He was sweet enough to leave work early to meet me at his apartment, but had a networking event that left me to fend for myself for dinner. Normally my blog posts are filled with photos &#8211; and I was tempted to pull out the camera to start shooting today. But I had a better idea &#8211; let me see just how well I can paint a picture of my evening without a single photo at all.</p>

I sat in a hotel lobby in Rome recently, enjoying my caffe macchiato, waiting for my friend to come down for breakfast to start our day. A small group had congregated in the lobby, getting ready to head out for a day of touring, and one of the couples started debating the weather forecast for the day. The woman confidently shoved her iPhone in her husband&#8217;s face. &#8220;Weather.com says it&#8217;s going to be a high of 74 and sunny.&#8221; The husband immediately pulled his phone out of his pocket and began searching for his favorite weather feed, wondering out loud if it was sunny out today, and then insisted his internet weather feed was more accurate.
