In May this year, Intel launched two new 9 Series chipsets, the Z97 and H97. As a result, a slew of newly-minted motherboards based on these chipsets were launched by partner board makers.

This occurred before the launch of the company’s next generation, 14nm Broadwell processors. The upcoming desktop Broadwell CPUs will be offered in the same LGA packaging as the previous gen Haswell chips; however, it isn’t known for certain if the current crop of Intel 8 Series boards will support Broadwell processors. If you’re looking to upgrade, it is best to secure a 9 Series board in order to futureproof your purchase. Let us examine the two new chipsets in detail, and the boards that feature them. Z97 and H97 Intel’s latest 9 Series chipset has two additional new features, which distinguishes it from the previous 8 Series. The 9 Series chipset showcases the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) for PCI Express Storage, and Intel Device Protection Technology with Boot Guard. The first improvement is the upgrading of Intel RST to support storage devices over PCIe 2.0 lanes. This upgrade to the Intel RST allows the usage of two PCIe 2.0 lanes, for a maximum bandwidth of 10Gb/s. As a result, SATA Express and M.2 connectors can be found on Intel 9 Series boards; however, the latter is currently more popular. It is also meant to replace the existing mSATA interface. The M.2 specifications are tailored for internally mounted flash-based storage and add-in cards like Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules, Near Field Communication (NFC) devices, and wireless Wide Area Network cards. As for SATA Express, its specifications are meant for 2.5- and 3.5-inch storage devices. It is also compatible with current SATA drives. Though both interfaces allow for usage of PCIe lanes for data connectivity; however, they are clearly segmented for product differentiation. As an enhancement to platform performance and security, the Device Protection Technology with Boot Guard is supposedly able to prevent the execution of boot block malware. It offers additional protection against such unauthorized software that may fall beyond the reaches of traditional anti-virus applications. However, in order to enable this feature, a new 4th generation Intel Core CPU, from the new Series of CPUs commonly known as Haswell Refresh, is in order. Another major change is CPU support of the new 9 Series where both chipsets are ready for the upcoming, 14nm Broadwell processors, as well as the new refresh of 4th generation Intel Core CPUs. It is not confirmed if the current crop of 8 Series boards will support the Broadwell chips. For now, the Intel 9 Series chipsets comprise the Z97 and H97. There are rumors the X99 chipset will be launched by the end of Q2 this year; however, this enthusiast-level desktop chipset is targeted at a different market segment. In a nutshell, the Z97 chipset is one that supports multi-GPU setups, as well as CPU overclocking functions. The H97 chipset is a step down, as it doesn’t showcase the same distinguishing features of the Z97. The only thing that H97 can call its own would be the Intel Small Business Advantage (SBA) technology. It is essentially a computing platform for small businesses without a managed network. Its bundled applications will allow such businesses to manage security and productivity issues.

SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S 10.5 Review

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S 10.5 draws the eye right away with a stunning 10.5in, 2,560 x 1,600-resolution Super AMOLED screen.

Design

The new samsung galaxy tab S just looks amazing. Samsung have done a great job in designing the new galaxy tab S. The main problems we face with the samsung phones and tablets is it's build material which feals very cheap,but you cannot say this for this amazing tab. It feels as premium or even more than the ipad for sure. You will love to hold it, as it is very slim and light. Apart from that the the screen display is just amazing. With sporting the new IPS display. Graphics and images jump out of the screen in a way that IPS displays don’t. However, we had to tinker with the settings to get it looking its best. Watching movies and TV shows in the default “adaptive” mode produced uncomfortably lurid skin tones. Switching to the “basic” setting yielded much better colour accuracy without sacrificing punch and presence.

Although the Tab S’s screen is easy to fall in love with, it isn’t as bright as the best IPS displays. According to our colorimeter, the Tab S 10.5 goes up to 276cd/m2; IPS screens can hit 400cd/ m2 or more. This won’t normally be a problem for indoor use, but in bright sunlight the Tab S will be less readable than, for example, the iPad Air. What’s more, AMOLED displays are susceptible to screen burn – depending on how you use it, the Tab S may not look so good a few years from now.

Regardless of the display, the Tab S is a beautiful device. It measures only 6.6mm thick and, at 465g, you’ll barely notice it in your bag; holding it up to watch a movie or read isn’t tiring at all. It isn’t quite as light as the Xperia Z2 Tablet, and lacks that device’s waterresistant sealing, but we found its rounded design more comfortable to hold for long periods. Our only minor moan is that the bronze-framed bezels – which, admittedly, look great – are so narrow that it’s tricky to pick up the tablet without accidentally activating the touchscreen. On the plus side, the Tab S offers plenty of connectivity.

There’s a microSD slot that will take cards up to 128GB in size; the micro-USB socket supports MHL, for HDMI video output; wireless stretches to dual-band 802.11ac; and an infrared transceiver means you can put the tablet to use as a giant universal remote control. Disappointingly, you don’t get a stylus with this tablet, but a fingerprint scanner is built into the home button. This works in the same way as the scanner on the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone.

Performance

The new Samsung galaxy tab S beats a powerful Samsung Exynos 5 Octa SoC with eight cores (four running at 1.9GHz, four at 1.3GHz), alongside 3GB of RAM, a base storage allocation of 16GB and Mali-T628 MP6 graphics.

This is the same specification as the larger Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2; not surprisingly, it delivered similar benchmark results. The Tab S completed the SunSpider test in 478ms and recorded single- and multi-core scores of 741 and 1,769 in Geekbench 3. Inevitably, the Tab S’s high resolution holds back gaming performance. In the GFXBench gaming test, it averaged only 14fps; the iPad Air scored 21fps and the 1080p Xperia Z2 Tablet managed 28fps. In everyday use, however, everything is perfectly responsive. In our testing, we almost never saw the tablet slow significantly, and the fussy Magazine UX newsfeed was as smooth as butter. Battery life was impressive, too, with the power-efficient AMOLED screen paying dividends. In flight mode, with the display set to 120cd/ m2, the Tab S 10.5 played 13hrs 26mins of video before hitting 5% capacity; the screen then dimmed automatically and the movie continued for a further 31 minutes. That’s a strong showing, beaten only by the Xperia Z2 Tablet’s 14hrs 38mins and the 16hrs 3mins of Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX 8.9in.

Camera

The Tab S’s 8-megapixel rear camera, which is accompanied by a single LED flash, captures clean, clear stills and decent 1080p video as well. There’s also a front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera, but this isn’t as good. We weren’t impressed with the sideways-facing speakers, either, which aren’t particularly loud or full-bodied.

As usual, Samsung has skinned Android 4.4 with its TouchWiz frontend and preinstalled a long list of proprietary apps. Whether you approve of this is a matter of taste, but some of the bundled software is undeniably useful. Smart Stay, for example, keeps the screen on while you’re looking at it; Multi Window lets you line up two apps side by side; and the new SideSync feature allows you to drag files back and forth between the tablet and a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Conclusion

All in all, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is an excellent tablet. The screen is fabulous, performance and battery life are more than respectable, and the design is the very definition of svelte. This tab is really amazing just misses the Sony xperia z 2 tablet in terms of performance and battery life. But on this budget this is the best tablet you can get with a stylish eye catchy look and blazing fast performance.

Have you all ever heard of cyanogenmod. I think ofcourse you have heard of it. After all cyanogenmod is one of the biggest and the most popular custom os in the world. In recent years cyanogenmod have became so much big that the company is turned into Cyanogenmod inc. And the performance and the comfort they are providing to the users is just amazing and getting even better.
With the increase of its popularity, many companies are interesting in partnering or in acquiring the Cyanogenmod. We have heard some rumous about samsung, Amazon and Yahoo are interesting in cyanogenmod. But the recent rumour suggest that the software king Microsoft is also interesting in cyanogenmod. Isn't it very interesting that the windows phone os maker is interested in the android custom OS maker . Well it sounds really interesting to see that microsoft is intersted in cyanogenmod so much.

In addition to Microsoft, whose CEO Satya Nadella actually had a sit down with Cyanogen, Amazon, Samsung and Yahoo are also monitoring Cyanogen “to see whether it becomes a potential partner or acquisition target.”

We cannot say Microsoft is thinking for giving a new try to android with cyanogenmod. They might be interested in the talent of the cyanogenmod team and that can lead them to the success. It will be very interesting to see Microsoft working with the cyanogenmod and what will come out of them if they work together. As for now it is just a rumour and we really cannot say what it will be turned in .

As for Cyanogen, the company has only recently hired execs from Electronic Arts and Facebook, and it’s currently looking for a “big” Series C funding round.

Years in the making, Swift is a new programming language for ioS and oS X apps. Sprouting modern features, it’s designed to be fast, easy to learn, and fun to use.

But that doesn’t mean objective-C died a sudden death. in fact, developers can use both, since Swift code works side-by-side with objective-C code in Xcode, apple’s primary development tool. more importantly, Swift is backed by the established Cocoa and Cocoa touch frameworks, the same frameworks that current objectiveC-written apps access. this means there aren’t new frameworks to master, just one more way to use the same ones. Another super-cool feature is playgrounds, which lets developers see the coding results immediately, without the need to compile into an app first. if there’s one thing we don’t like about Swift, it’s that it isn’t an open standard. For apple, that can only be a good thing because it dampens developers’ motivation when they want to port their hit apps to other platforms.

1. Open your Facebook app on your iPhone and tap on the Messages tab. The app will prompt you to install the dedicated Facebook Messenger app; click Install.

2. On the App Store pages that subsequently opens, tap to download Facebook Messenger but stop the download after it begins.

3. Go back to the main Facebook app and you’ll find that the Messages tab has been restored.

I think the answer will be yes. Who would not love a high end device comes at an affordable and the device which is guarantee that it will be the first to get the latest Android version. Including a 5.5 inch screen, it is supposed to have a 2560 x 1440 display which most high end smart phones are now trending to adapt.

It’s been a very long time since we have seen any beautiful product launch from the old time favourite “Blackberry”. But this year will be different because according to blackberry they are going to launch the most unique masterpiece in this September 2014 calling it the “BlackBerry Passport”.

Blackberry is finally willing to offer us some great phone that will do the magic for them and will bring the old magic days for them. This phone might be the premium smartphone with high end specifications. Along with a 4.5 inch screen, it will have a 1440 x 1440 (453ppi) display will be followed a Snapdragon 800 processor and will have a rocking speed at 3GB RAM.

According to the reports the internal memory is said to be at 32GB and can be expanded to a whooping 64GB. BlackBerry Passport will run on their latest BlackBerry 10.1 OS. The specific camera features haven’t yet been officially announced.

The phone has gained a lot of attention because of its unique body structure and built. More detailed specifications haven’t yet been disclosed. Well, we eagerly wait for this BlackBerry product to release and see if even today, it can attract the masses.

Well we thing the Blackberry passport is going to a great hit. It looks very unique and stylish and on the hardware end it is backed up by whopping specs. Well let’s see what blackberry will do with this marterpiece.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Review

Microsoft’s Surface Pro is getting very close to become the laptop and pc replacement. The newest model, the Surface Pro 3, has taken along with one giant leap. You’ll immediately see a larger display, which is 12 inches in diagonal width and the display is 38 percent bigger than the screen of the Surface Pro 2. It have an eye popping 2160-by-1440-pixel resolution display, an improvement over the Surface Pro 2’s 1920-by-1080 resolution, is breathtakingly crisp and amazingly sharp. Just as important, Microsoft’s shift to a 3:2 aspect ratio adds 1.12 inches of vertical real estate to what already is a wider tablet. It feels more luxurious, useful work space—and that’s critical when you’re multitasking in a desktop environment. Despite having a 12inch display, the Surface Pro 3 is quite slimmer than its predecessor, its designers having trimmed 0.23 inch of width and 0.24 pound from the Surface Pro 2.

Performance

Still Microsoft is making it a powerhouse including a Core i7 that somehow manages to live happily in a 0.3-inch-thick slate. Mircrosoft have made it in five configurations. We got our hand on, containing a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, costs $1300. The low-end Core i3 model costs $800, a price that’s against the other laptops present in the market. But a high-end Core i7 model costs more than $2000 after sales tax, and any other future enhancement will make it price even more, mircrosoft have to take care of the price for the better sales of the Surface pro.The new Type Cover costs another $130, and it’s a must-have. Microsoft also moved to a new charger, breaking compatibility with earlier models. And if you bought a docking station for the Surface Pro 2, it won’t work with the Surface Pro 3 due to a port reconﬁguration.

Surface Pro running

The most amazing and interesting thing about the new Surface Pro 3 is it’s boot speed. It boots very fast fast—so fast that I got confused that I have putted it on sleep mode or I have shutted down it. Yes, I’ve been reviewing a clean machine, and improved SSD technology plays a role, but boot-to-password was on the order of 3 to 4 seconds. (You will notice it just hold the power button a bit longer than normal on ﬁrst boot, however, as a quick press doesn’t seem to trigger it.) Microsoft claims 8 hours of battery life during casual use, but in our battery tests, which entail a little works on the oﬃce use and video playback, brought the Surface Pro 3 battery to its knees after 4 hours, 18 minutes. Which is quite lower time period than the surface pro 2.

Microsoft describes the chip as a “tuned” version of the Core i5-4300U, the upgraded processor that Microsoft adopted midway through the Surface Pro 2 life cycle. The Surface Pro 3’s WorldBench 9 score, however, was just 72, whereas the Surface Pro 2 achieved a score of 74. Microsoft has moved to the faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard, which increases potential wireless throughput. The new tablet also sports a 5 megapixel front and rear camera that is enough for full 1080p Skype chats. The Surface Pro 3 retains the MicroSD slot of previous generations, as well as the single USB 3.0 port and Mini DisplayPort connector. The New Cover

The tablet still clicks back to the 22-degree angle, but beyond that the kickstand and its “friction hinge” can support any angle up to 150 degrees. Microsoft says it has tested the hinge to hold up over repeated use. I used the Surface Pro 3 on a plane from New York to San Francisco, flying in coach. The Surface Pro 3 ﬁt fairly well on the tray table, with a bit hanging oﬀ the edge. Typing was no problem. In key travel and spacing, Microsoft claims, the Type Cover 3 is essentially the same as the second-generation model, and the keys are still backlit. I can’t say, however, whether the Surface Pro 3 will remain comfortable to use if the person ahead of you reclines the seat—the passenger in front of me slept with the seat in the upright position.

Thanks to Microsoft , you will be able to use the Surface Pro 3 with the Type Cover comfortably on your lap, and I typed on it for extended periods. The best thing about the new Microsoft Surface pro 3 so-called lapability lies in a tweak that Microsoft made to the Type Cover 3. Click it in, and it resembles the previous generation’s keyboard. You’ll notice, however, a narrow strip on its long, connected edge that uses a second magnetic connection. When you fold it down, this strip raises the keyboard to a slight angle, and it reinforces the Type Cover’s connection across the entire tablet. Earlier Type Cover designs feel flimsy on your lap, but the additional support of the Type Cover 3 stabilizes the whole unit. The Type Cover 3 works with earlier Surface models, too.

Comfort

When I used the Surface Pro 3 , the new tablet-keyboard combination oﬀered enough stability, flexibility, that i was totally get in love with it. I did encounter two bugs. First, after I folded up the Surface Pro 3 and then reopened it, the touchpad wouldn’t work and the cursor vanished. Rebooting solved the problem. Second, when I snapped the Type Cover 3 onto my older Surface Pro 2 to check connectivity, it worked ﬁne—but after I reattached the Type Cover 2 to the Surface Pro 2, the Type Cover 2 failed to connect, even after several reboots. Another, older Type Cover failed to work as well. Microsoft says software updates will ﬁx such issues with the covers. Third time’s the charm? For all of the Surface Pro 3’s attractive qualities, you may be better served by exploring other Windows 8.1 options, be they hybrids or traditional laptops. These competitors may not have the Surface Pro 3’s gorgeous display, but they will likely cost a few hundred dollars less, boast longer battery lives, and maybe face the challenges of the airplane tray table with greater aplomb. Here is no doubt what Microsoft has accomplished with the Surface Pro 3, however. The new model represents an improvement on all fronts. The original Surface wasn’t much of a tablet. The Surface Pro 3 certainly is.

PROS:

The LG G3 is big and packed with features, with an astonishingly good screen the highlight from the premium end’s new ﬂag bearer.

The new LG G3 is quite simply the most feature-rich handset to be launched world. It has a stunning array of features that put it right at the head of the pack in terms of technical capabilities, and for the most part, we are very impressed indeed.

Lightly skinned

LG has skinned Android 4.4, but with a reasonably light touch. There are a few added apps and these are useful rather than simply bloat.

Stunning screen

The quad HD resolution screen is super-sharp, bright and clear. It is as good for watching movies as it is for reading ebooks, and its 5.5 inches is packed into a surprisingly slim chassis. It make the LG G3 the smartphone with the best display in the market. The LG G3 have the hightest resolution display compared to other smartphones rocking a 538ppi screen due to which the screen looks amazing.

Multitasking help

The ability to run two apps side-by-side, and to pop up some mini apps on top of what you are doing will be very useful to anyone who likes multitasking.

Design

LG has really worked hard to make LG G3 this beautiful and on it’s design so that it can be easily fitted in out pockets. The 5.5-inch screen is quite big and is just a few millimetres away from the long edges and very close to the short edges too, so that the overall size of the phone is relatively small. Yes, it is still difﬁcult to reach across for one-handed use, but as handsets with large screens go the overall size is impressively svelte. The Android buttons take up screen space rather than being on the chassis, so that there is a loss of screen area for apps, but a gain in terms of keeping the chassis size small. The power and volume buttons are on the back of the chassis. We ﬁrst saw this arrangement in the LG G2, and here the buttons seem better designed. There is a sight indent on the volume buttons and a slight raise to the power button that sits between them, and this helps you ﬁ nd all three by touch alone. It does take a bit of getting used to, but it is a neat idea that means the sides of the phone can be largely clear. You can set the volume up and down buttons to launch LG’s QuickMemo and Camera apps respectively when the screen is off. The LG G3 is available in black, gold and white shades. It has to be said that for a ﬂagship handset we’d have liked a more premium quality feel to the design. The backplate has a brushed metal look but is made from plastic, and when compared to the superbly built HTC One (M8), the LG G3 seems second class. But then so does every other handset.

Screen

The most amazing thing about the new LG G3 is it’s super HD and amazingly beautiful screen.The size we have already noted. It is sharp, bright and clear, and immediately shines out at you as something quite special. In fact it is a quad HD screen that packs in 2560 x 1440 pixels. That gives it a massive 534 pixels per inch, putting every other handset currently available in the UK in the shade. Our We often say that pixel count alone is not enough to make us enthuse about a handset’s screen. An we hold to that here. The screen is certainly a cut above the average, but we aren’t convinced that all those extra pixels make a huge difference to the clarity and quality of what you can see when compared to, say, the 1920 x 1080 pixels of the 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S5 and ﬁve-inch HTC One (M8).

As this pixel count becomes more widespread we may see apps that really take advantage, though. We’ll hold judgement for a while. Other plus points for the screen include its very good viewing angles and brightness levels, both of which add to its appeal. Yes, it is very good and whether you are watching a movie or reading an ebook, playing a game or writing email, the screen’s high resolution and general quality is deﬁnitely a plus point that’s not to be ignored. This is just about as good as it gets.

Performance and battery

The LG G3 is a really powerhouse. The processor behind the LG G3 is a top-of-the range 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, which is supported by 2GB of RAM in our 16GB version of the handset. If you can get hold of a 32GB G3 then there’s 3GB of RAM in support. Despite these superb specs, but some of its users have reported a slight lag using the LG G3, but this was not our experience. In fact, our 16GB review handset turned in top performances against our benchmarks, delivering an AnTuTu score of 35226, just a shade below the HTC One (M8), and showing off a blistering 23407 in the Quadrant benchmark. The other speciﬁcations are as high-end as you would expect with NFC and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac all in the mix. The USB On The Go facility means we were able to read data, including music and video, from a USB stick. And, of course, this is a 4G phone.

A handset like this is probably going to have to do a lot more work than your average phone, delivering catch up TV, music, GPS-based navigation and more in an average day’s work. It is driven by a power-hungry processor and a greedy screen. It is an unfortunate trade off that it takes more power to run the LG G3’s superb screen than it would a smaller, lower quality one. So there is inevitable effect on battery life. And the brighter you have the screen, the more power it. take care with the manual screen settings. Overall, the 3000mAh battery was an average rather than a stunning performer, and we often needed to give it a power boost in the late afternoon or early evening to survive.

Software

The LG G3 runs on Android 4.4 making it bang up to date. You’d expect that from a ﬂagship phone. LG has always been keen on skinning Android and that remains the case here. The net result of all the software additions is that the 16GB of installed memory is reduced to 10.4GB. While LG adds an awful lot to Android it feels quite light. The skin design is pleasant to look at and nothing feels over the top. There are plenty of detail tweaks to be found through the settings area. You can, for example, as we’ve seen before from LG, ﬁddle with the Android hotkeys so that they are in your preferred order. And there are facilities to change the position of the dial pad and keyboard to make them hug the left or right of the screen for easier one-handed use.

Gesture controls are plentiful with recognised staples like answering an incoming call by lifting the phone to your ear and turning the LG G3 face down to silence incoming calls being accompanied by using that same face-down motion to pause video or stop an alarm. There are several multitasking features. You can open a number of apps from a QSlide menu so that they sit in a window on top of what you are doing. The range of apps supported includes a calculator, internet browser, phone dialer and more. You get to the QSlide menu from the notiﬁcations area. You can also split the screen and view two apps at once. Not all apps are compatible, but the range includes plenty that are useful such as maps, YouTube, email and web browser.

Looking at two apps at once is a bit of a squeeze on the 5.5-inch screen, but it might be useful at times. And, of course, LG adds a few apps to the Android standards. It is nice to see an FM radio here as a basic addition. QuickMemo+ is the note-taking app of choice and you can either type or draw with a ﬁnger to make notes. There’s a separate task manager called, erm, Tasks, which lets you set due dates and issue reminders. A ﬁ le manager is useful for keeping track of all your bits and pieces, and an app called Quick Remote lets you use the built-in infrared as a remote control for your TV and other equipment. It is easy to set up multiple ‘rooms’ and multiple devices.

Camera

The LG G3’s cameras are both very nice. The back-facing 13-megapixel camera has a new laser focus. The Laser focus measures the distance between the object and the lens that allows the LG G3 for much faster focusing. This also can help with taking shots in gloomy locations.There is also a dual LED flash for the low-light situation and it works really well. Optical image stabilisation helps improve the clarity.

LG has taken a ‘less is more’ approach to working with both cameras, with the screen left pretty much clear to act as an unobstructed view ﬁnder. The Dual mode is one of the few camera options available, allowing you to take a photo with front and back cameras simultaneously. You can resize the smaller of the two images – which by default is that from the front camera – and invert the smaller image to be that from the back camera by tapping the screen.

Verdict

The LG G3 is a lovely phone. Yes, it is expensive, but it does have a very strong mix of features that come togeter in a tiny package. The screen, obviously, is a highlight, but the well thought out and small set of software additions, good overlay to Android, impressive cameras and hassle-free performance are all endearing too. If only the chassis quality were better. It would be the best smartphone in the market, personally the Samsung galaxy s5 screen looks a little better than it. Well it’s your choice LG G3 is a superphone that everyone wants to own. It looks really premium in it’s class and it’s quite big and beautiful that will catch the attention of everyone.

Well anyone of you have tried the new microsoft virtual assistant Cortana the virtual digital assistant from Microsoft. You’re supposed to ask Cortana questions, so I asked a lot of question from cortana the new windows phone 8.1 soul. Based on its answers, I have seen that it’s answers are far better and logical than the google now and the apple’s iphone siri. It’s clear that Windows Phone’s digital assistant has taken the customised awareness of Google Now and the chatty personality of Siri, and raised a quite competition. Cortana spits out clever responses on topics ranging from Android to Siri. It makes jokes and explains its Haloinspired lineage. Here are some of the funniest answers we’ve found. And remember: Cortana is still in beta. It may get even sharper before it reaches its ﬁnal form. After all it’s a tech giant’s work to put this marter piece in the windows phone.

Dell XPS 15 the lightest and the fastest

We all love Dell laptops for classic designs, and today's trend of gaming laptops is catching fire. This Dell XPS 15 laptop might not be the Alienware but it's performance quite good for gaming. The design is quite simple but's it's screen is to gorgeous and beautiful.

This is not the eye-catching convertible design of its stablemate, the flipping-screen Dell XPS 12 , but the 3200x1800 display of the latest version of the XPS 15 is too good and ensures that it provides plenty of visual attention of its own. It's very light with having the weight of only 2.1kg. The best thing of this beauty is that it is one the lightest 15.6inch laptop available in the market. It makes it very handy to use.

It's partial-aluminium casing in the sides and it's eye catching Retina-style screen gives a quitely comparable to Apple’s Retina MacBook Pro , and its super light weight and very slimmy 18mm thickness are also very identical. The Dell XPS 15 has some quite unique features that outguns the MacBook Pro in a number of respects. The first thing about the Dell’s laptop is that it makes a good impression even before you turn it on. The aluminium casing is both light and sturdy and it looks very eye catching and appealing, and provides good support for the 15.6in screen.

The other good thing in this laptop is the stylish keyboard, with trackpad and surrounding panels all have a pleasant ‘soft-touch’ matt-black plastic finish makes it smart and feels very comfortable to use. The Dell XPS 15 is very slim due to this slimline design it forsakes an internal DVD drive, but few people will complain about that if it means the XPS 15 can lose some heft compared to most 15in laptops.

There is a big drawback that it have no ethernet port for a wired network connection, but one of the three USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 could accept an adaptor. Both HDMI and Mini DisplayPort provide good connectivity for external monitors. However, it’s Dell’s ‘QHD’ screen that’s the real eye-opener and the real deal. With a resolution of 3200x1800 pixels and 235ppi, it has a suprisingly higher resolution than the Retina display of the MacBook Pro, at 2880x1800 and 220ppi.

It looks terrific, as it have a beautiful th IPS panel which is very bright and colourful, and have strong contrast that ensures that blacks look very black, while the pristine white backgrounds of many web pages help accentuate how dull the colours are for many other laptops. The screen is enough touch-sensitive, too, although we found ourselves reluctant to mar the brilliant and shiny screen with our fingerprints. The big problem is with that high-resolution display is that Windows programs don’t work properly. The adjustable scaling technology in Windows works well enough on the main desktop, allowing you to adjust the size of text and icons to enhance visibility.

Due to very high screen resolution it doesn't always help with interface elements within individual applications, which remain at the screen’s native resolution. This means that toolbars, icons and buttons in some third-party applications appear so small that they’re almost unusable and creates many problems. And, ironically, it’s often graphics applications such as the Adobe Photoshop Elements program we tried that suffer the most here, because of their reliance on graphical-based tools. It feels very bad to switching to a lower resolution for tasks such as photo or video-editing; which rather defeats the point of paying for the QHD display in the first place. In our view it's microsoft's fault not the dell's that it cannot provide a solution to this quite a big problem, although it’s you as the latter’s customer that has to put up with it.

Despite of the resolution issue with windows 8.1.There are areas where the Dell XPS 15 gives better performance and value for money than its big rival the MacBook Pro with Retina display. Currently there are two versions of the Dell XPS 15 currently available, with prices starting at £1,249 for a model with a quad-core Intel Core i7 running at 2.3GHz, 16GB memory and an Heavey Nvidia GeForce GT 750M handling graphics duties. Note that the model we tested had a 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-4702HQ; Dell’s website now lists a 2.3GHz Intel Core i7-4712HQ, after Intel’s running processor upgrade. Our review model included a 512GB solid-state drive, which bumped this price up to £1,499.

That compares favourably to a starting price of £1,699 for the 15in MacBook Pro, which has a 2GHz processor, 8GB of memory and 256GB solidstate storage. This entry-level model of Apple’s notebook also relies on Intel’s Iris Pro integrated graphics rather than a discrete GPU.In Lab performance the Dell XPS 15 proves to be good, with a score of 5833 points in the general purpose PCMark 7. This suggests that the XPS 15 can provide desktop-PC levels of performance for a wide range of software. Performance in the Home and Works suites of PCMark 8 wasn’t quite so strong, but scores of 2699 and 2800 points respectively are still solid enough for all but the most demanding of tasks. It can handle a fair bit of gaming action too, easily breezing to 68fps( thanks to the superfast Nvidia Geforce 750m) when running our Stalker: Call of Pripyat casual gaming test at 1920x1080 resolution.

We tried Batman: Arkham City at the full 3200x1800 resolution – which looked terrific, but only gave us 21fps. Dropping down to 1920x1080 allowed the XPS 15 to hit a smooth 50fps even with graphics details set to High. Battery life is disappointing. Dell quotes a life of ‘up to 11 hours’, but in our usual test we only just managed fives hours of streaming video with the XPS 15. Apple’s entry-level 15in Retina MacBook Pro lasted more than 50 percent longer in the same test, running for eight hours, 14 minutes.

Verdict

Despite of the disappointing Battery life , especially as the Dell XPS 15 is intended as a lightweight Ultrabook, although as a desktop replacement system, . It provides outstanding display with 235ppi screen quality and high-end performance rocking a nvidia geforce 750m at a competitive price, while still being slim and light enough to slip into a bag for the occasional business trip or weekend away. It makes Dell XPS 15 a real marterpiece to buy, the people who like very high visuals will have to busy this beauty.

How to Buy the OnePlus One without an invitation

You don’t actually need an invite to buy the OnePlus One, although there are risks and you won’t get quite as good a bargain. Third-party vendors such as MobiCity.co.uk and AliExpress.com claim to have stock that they are willing to ship to the UK. There are other sites listing OnePlus One phones as being in stock.

Some of them are via Amazon, too. This offers an additional layer of protection. We’re not recommending this route, or any of the sites listed here. But it is an option if you are keen. AliExpress is up front about the fact that it is shipping from China. It charges $495 for the 64GB OnePlus One, and there are additional fees for shipping.

You may well be charged import duty by Customs and Excise, too (I had to pay £31 – since refunded – to import my OnePlus One via OnePlus). Be aware also that the spec may not be exactly the same as the UK version of the phone. You won’t have a UK charger, for instance, although any USB charger will work.

And you will want to check that the correct LTE bands will work in the UK. Finally, AliExpress is to be credited for being upfront about delivery times. It claims that you may have to wait three weeks or more to get your OnePlus phone. MobiCity quotes a UK price of £367.19 inc VAT for the 64GB OnePlus One.

In the specs it states: ‘Please note that this is the Chinese variant of the mobile, with CyanogenMod and Google Play installed prior to order fulﬁ lment.’ Delivery times are estimated as ‘Dispatched in 7 working days’ with an additional box that states: ‘This item is being restocked or is located in a secondary warehouse.

Such items can take up to 3-7 days to be dispatched. Once shipped tracking details will be emailed to you.’ I would expect that you would have to wait a good couple of weeks to get hold of the OnePlus One – at the earliest. With all of these there are a couple of caveats. For one thing, whenever you purchase from an online store with no UK street address you are running a risk.

Mitigate these risks by using a credit card – if the purchase goes wrong it is the bank’s money. Also read all the small print to make sure you know exactly what you are getting. Both of the sites mentioned above are clear that they are selling Chinese-spec phone handsets. Be sure that is what you want. (You may also wonder from where they are getting their stock.)

You are also overpaying somewhat. The OnePlus One is great, principally because it is a high-calibre smartphone at a bargain price. The 64GB model sold in the examples above retails from OnePlus for £269 inc VAT and delivery. AliExpress’ $495 is £290 before delivery and import tax. MobiCity’s £367 is probably about where you’d end up from AliExpress.

There’s nothing wrong with this, per se. The vendors are charging a premium for grey imports of in-demand products. But by overpaying you are reducing the reasons for choosing the OnePlus. Which leads us on to...

Oneplus one is really a powerhouse smartphone if you willing to buy it this is the best you can try.

How to get a OnePlus One phone invite

The easiest way is to ask someone who has a OnePlus One to send you an invite. Everyone who purchases a OnePlus One receives a number of invites which they can dole out to friends and family. If you can’t immediately bring to mind anyone with a OnePlus One phone, don’t be shy.

Ask around, post a request on Facebook or Twitter: you never know, you may be able to ﬁ nd a friend with an invite. We wouldn’t recommend that you accept an invite from a total stranger, but business is based on connections and you never know your luck.

The other way to get a OnePlus One invite is to enter contests and promotional events hosted on the OnePlus Forums or OnePlus’ social media channels, or those hosted by third parties. There’s no guarantee that you will win of course. And you will be giving away your data. But if you can stomach those odds it may be worth a shot.

We’re excited about Android L. Very excited. Here are ﬁve of the most important and cool features of Android L for which we just can’t wait. The most exciting things about Android L.

Performance enhancements

In one respect, from day one Android has been ﬁghting a losing battle against ﬁrst iOS and latterly Windows Phone 8. Something about the underlying Android code made previous versions susceptible to lag at the oddest times. And this in turn gave an overall perception of performance somewhat worse than was the case.

The proof will be in the testing, but Android L is set up to be the biggest overhaul in Android performance that we’ve seen. Android L will support 64-bit processors and it will also support the ART software library, which Google says will be twice as fast as laggy old Dalvik. It remains to be seen how this pans out in the real-world of smartphones and tablets made by OEMs (with their own take on what Android should look like), but we’re excited to see Google investing in performance.

Battery saver mode

There is, of course, an arms race of performance benchmarks in which smartphone- and tablet makers try to convince us to buy their wares based on miniscule differences in terms of overall computational speed or graphics framerates. But the best phones are already plenty fast enough, and the differences are difficult to notice in the real world.

Much more important crucial even is battery life. The ﬁrst smartphone that can last for three days on charge will be a very popular device. Again, we don’t know how this will work, but it’s great to see Google taking up the cudgels and attempting to address battery life. Google promises that Android L will bring it via a new battery saving mode known as ‘Project Volta’. This will allow developers to identify how their apps are using battery so they make improvements. Google said that the new battery saving mode will immediately give a Nexus 5 an extra 90 minutes of power. We like the sound of that.

Useful notiﬁcations

Notiﬁcations have long been a strong point of Android... up to a point. What you won’t see is many people acting on the notiﬁcations. Android L will, Google tells us, make notiﬁcations useful. For starters you can get them on the lock screen. And they will be automatically ordered in priority. But here is the key thing: while you will still be able to swipe away notiﬁcations, you will now be able to double tap to open the relevant app and respond to a notiﬁcation. So rather than having to open up your phone and then the app, ﬁnd the message and type out the response, you can get straight to it. A simple (obvious) change, but an important one.

Material Design

Google has revealed a new design language for the Android L release which is called ‘Material Design’. It remains to be seen what developers make of Material Design, but overall it’s a cleaner and very Google style which developers can make use of in apps. The Roboto font can also be used anywhere. Elements can be given depth, so shadows and light sources affect UI elements in real time. App interfaces will now feature touches of colour automatically generated based on the content and there are new animations and touch feedback. It’s exciting because it makes Android look modern, slick and cool. But it will also add a feeling of simple pace to the interface.

Meaningful relations between devices

Google’s I/O keynote was low on detail and heavy on a grand plan for world domination. But the theme that emerged was: Android shall speak unto Android. So Android Wear smartwatches will work as extensions of smartphones. Android Auto will make your car into a big smartphone, Android TV will do the same for your telly box. It’s a grand vision that could ultimately have amazing consequences for our lives (and for Google’s ability to harvest data on our lives). But as exciting as it is right now there are relatively few practical applications.

Determining which keywords to use on your site can be one of the hardest tasks when you start to think about SEO. Here are six steps that will help you identify the right keywords and phrases for your site. I have ordered them in a way that you will find it easy. I have taken help of many books and many sites for collecting this information.

1: Brainstorm

List down the words that someone might type into Google to find your site. Be sure to include the various topics, products or services your site is about. It often helps to ask other people what words they would use to find your site because people less familiar with a topic might use different terms than you. (In particular, they are less likely to use industry-specific jargon.) Your list may include some keyword phrases (not just individual words) if you have topics which are described by more than one word. The easier way is to thing what could be a person will search on google, just think like that and you will get better ideas.

2: Organize

Group the keywords into separate lists for the different sections or categories of your website. For example, if your website was a pet shop you might have different categories for different animals (such as dogs, cats and rabbits). On a large site you may break this up further into sub-categories (for example, separate groups for different pet food brands). Organizing your website is very important try to organize your site in a very simple manner that users find it easy to navigate through your contents.

3: Research

4: Compare

It is very unlikely that your site will appear at the top of the search results for every keyword. This is especially true for topics where there is a lot of competition. The more sites out there that have already been optimized for a given keyword, the harder it will be for you to rise up the search results when people search on that term.

Some of the keyword research sites can tell you how many people have searched for a specific keyword to help you know how much competition those terms have.

You can also use Google's advanced search feature to just search the titles of web pages. This will help you to determine how many sites have that keyword in the title of their pages. (The more pages with the term in the title, the more competition there is.)

5: Refine

Now you need to pick which keywords you will focus on. These should always be the ones that are most relevant to each section of your site. If there is a phrase that is very relevant but you find there is a lot of competition, you should still use it. To improve the chances of your site being found you can look at whether there are other words that could be incorporated into a phrase.

For example, if the information or service you offer on your website is location specific, then you will often find that incorporating your location into your keyword list will help people find you. If your site is promoting a slate roofing company in Australia then it is better to get 100 people from Australia who are looking for a slate roof than 10,000 from the USA who are looking for other kinds of rooves.

6: Map

Now that you have a refined list of keywords, you know which have the most competition, and which ones are most relevant, it is time to start picking which keywords you will use for each page.

Pick 3-5 keywords or phrases that map to each page of your website and use these as the keywords for each page.

You should not need to repeat the same keywords on all of the pages. It is also likely that, as you move further away from the homepage into the sections of the site, the keywords will become more specific to the individual topic dealt with on each page.

5: Link text

Use keywords in the text that create links between pages (rather than using generic expressions such as "click here").

6: image alt text

Search engines rely on you providing accurate descriptions of images in the alt text. This will also help your images show up in the results of image-based searches.

7: Page Descriptions

The description also lives inside the <head> element and is specified using a <meta> tag. It should be a sentence that describes the content of the page. (These are not shown in the browser window but they may be displayed in the results pages of search engines.) Never try to fool search engines! They will penalize you for it. For example, never add text in the same color as the background of the page as they can detect this.
