Over the past few years, I’ve started paying more attention to this area and adding a few simple things into my routine that really do help. Today I wanted to share what’s been working for me and some simple ways to care for your neck and décolletage over 50.

Bring Your Skincare Down Past Your Jawline

One of the easiest things you can do is stop your skincare routine from ending at your chin. Any serum, moisturizer, or sunscreen you apply to your face should also go down your neck and onto your chest.

This is such a simple change, but I really think it helps keep everything looking more even and hydrated. It only takes an extra minute, and it’s become second nature for me now.

The Neck Cream I’ve Been Using

SkinMedica Neck Correct Cream

One product I’ve really enjoyed is the SkinMedica Neck Correct Cream. I started using it because I wanted a little extra hydration and support specifically for my neck area.

It feels rich without being heavy, and I love how smooth it leaves my skin. Mature skin tends to need more moisture, especially on the neck and chest, and this cream has become one of those products I consistently reach for morning and night.

Application Tips for the Best Results

When it comes to neck creams and skincare products, how you apply them can make a difference, too. I try to be a lot gentler with my neck and chest than I used to because the skin there is thinner and more delicate.

I always apply products using upward motions instead of pulling downward on the skin. You don’t need to tug or rub aggressively. Gentle pressure works just fine. I usually bring my products from the chest upward toward the jawline and let everything absorb for a minute before layering anything else on top.

One little tip I’ve picked up over the years is to apply any leftover skincare from your hands onto your neck and chest instead of washing it off. It’s such an easy way to make sure those areas are getting extra hydration and attention, too.

Sleeping on your side can sometimes cause chest wrinkles as the skin folds overnight. I’m definitely not perfect about this, but it’s something to be aware of.

Keep Skin Hydrated

Hydrated skin simply looks healthier and smoother. I notice a big difference when I’m consistent with moisturizing and drinking enough water.

Finding shorts after 50 can feel oddly frustrating. Some are too short, some dig in when you sit down, and some somehow manage to be both stiff and uncomfortable at the same time.

At this stage of life, I’m not interested in swimsuits that require constant adjusting or make me feel uncomfortable the entire time I’m wearing them.

I personally look for styles with good support, flattering ruching, adjustable straps, and enough coverage so I don’t have to worry about everything shifting around.

Truthfully, our greatest good isn’t found in getting more attention, having a perfect family (who does?), or everything working out exactly the way we planned. It’s simply found in being close to Him.

When life feels uncertain or overwhelming, God is the one we need to run to because He will steady us when things feel shaky. He’s faithful in the big things and the small things, and the more time we spend with Him, the more we begin to see His blessings everywhere.

Once you’ve experienced His faithfulness, it’s hard not to talk about it. Our lives become a testimony of His grace and His care. So remember to stay close to Him. That’s where peace is found.
