The Three Pillars of Sustainable Dream-Chasing

1. Rest as a Strategy
   • Rest is not a reward for hard work; it’s fuel for your vision. Sleep, solitude, and stillness allow your creativity to flourish.
   • Schedule pauses. Whether it’s a walk in nature, a midday meditation, or an extended sabbatical, intentional rest prevents burnout.
2. Reflection as a Sacred Compass
   • Pause and ask: How far have I come? What have I learned? What needs to shift?

Maybe it’s a vision you’ve held for a decade, waiting for the right moment. But here’s the truth: the right moment isn’t wrapped in a perfect package. It arrives disguised as an invitation to take a risk, to step off the well-worn path, and to venture into the unknown.

Leaving behind what’s familiar – whether it’s a stable career, a long-standing role, or a way of life – can be terrifying. Our minds are wired to resist uncertainty, clinging to routine and predictability.

   Name it. Write it down. Ask yourself: What’s the worst that could happen? More often than not, our worst-case scenarios are survivable.
2. Surround yourself with visionaries.
   Share your dream with those who believe in your potential—not those who project their fears onto you.
3. Break it down.
   The big leap may feel overwhelming, but every journey is made up of small, intentional steps. Focus on the next right move.

Choosing a word serves me more than putting together a list of resolutions or goals I am not fully engaged with – simply because it is a new calendar year.

Choosing a word representing the feelings I wanted to feel MORE OF in the year ahead suits my soul-centered approach to living.

Along the way, I have implemented ways to support my word. For example, I now turn the word into an acronym or acrostic (which turns my one word into several – yay!), create playlists with songs to ignite the feelings I seek, and choose symbols to represent different aspects of the word.

My Guiding Word for 2024 is ROARING.

These are the supporting words and emotions that flowed out into my acrostic this year.

This will be a year filled with…

Reinventing and rising while embracing my intuition.
Overflowing with optimism, patience, and joy.
Actualizing my dreams with ease and in perfect time.
Reveling in magical moments of love, play, and harmony.
Inviting opportunities that honor my boundaries.
Nurturing beloved relationships and my well-being.
Glowing as I gather my sisterhood around a new table.

Roaring has several elemental meanings woven into it for me.

1: Water

I will feel the ocean’s roar vibrate my bones as it heals me, see the river’s roar as it rushes downstream, and soak in the spray of a roaring waterfall…

2: Fire

A roaring fire is often seen as a symbol of transformation, purification, and rebirth. I will seek to release all that no longer serves me and my highest purpose. I will honor this desire by writing it out and burning each limiting thought in the fire. I will continue to create and perform ceremonies that honor all of my holy boundaries and deepest dreams.

3: Lions and Dragons

I will release the roar of my inner lioness as I reconnect with and share my deepest truths. 

I will embrace the fiery roar of my inner dragon and breathe the fire of righteous rage as I create the change I seek.

4: Laughter

I will experience more moments filled with roaring laughter with my beloveds and lavish celebrations reveling in the successes my new venture brings us all.

5: Women

Dozens of magnificent women have been associated with lions over the centuries. My research has already begun… starting with Sekhmet – my first Divine Feminine card pulled this year! Stay tuned for more on her over on my DivineSoulFire.com blog.

I am ready for this new chapter and this new season of life.

Eclipses are powerful celestial events that catalyze radical, powerful transformation; they open new doors by closing others. They highlight comfort zones and stagnant energy that you need to break through to reach your potential. This is why eclipses can feel intense and overwhelming. The eclipse is an opportunity for you to be who you say you are… to step into who you are becoming with courage, vision, and focus.

On this auspicious day, before the Solar Eclipse tomorrow morning, it is with mixed emotions I share this news with you – my beloved community.

After seven sensational years, my role as Chief Strategist and Executive Consultant of the WomanUP!® Movement will come to an end in December. I will finish this season of the WomanUP!® Live Show and will depart after the finale on 12/8 at 2pm PT.

Being part of this magnificent movement with Sara, Leslie, Melanie, and the fantastic team members over the years has been one of the greatest honors of my career. Helping to build and guide the WomanUP!® vision has been an incredible journey filled with meaningful experiences, growth, and the opportunity to work with and shine a light on hundreds of truly inspiring individuals. Together, we’ve made a positive impact on the lives and businesses of thousands of people. This work has been instrumental in creating a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable space where women can thrive and contribute their full potential to the industry’s success. I am immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished.

This role has shaped and challenged me in so many divine ways. I have nurtured my emotional intelligence and empathy while leveling up some of my favorite skills, including speaking, event design, interviewing, content creation, and community building.

As I close this chapter, I wish to convey my heartfelt appreciation to all of you for your unwavering support, cooperation, and friendship. When I encouraged you to summon your courage and share your stories, you did. When I urged you to engage, elevate, and empower the remarkable women in your lives by inviting them to join our community, you did so with delight. When I requested your generous contributions, you delivered. Your steadfast commitment to our shared mission has been a continual wellspring of motivation, and I am grateful for the cherished memories we’ve created together.

As always, I will continue to hold sacred space for the WomanUP!® Team. I wish them well as they step into this next season. When they are ready, they will share more about what’s next. 

I am eager to embrace a new chapter, explore fresh opportunities (bring them on!), and launch a decade-long dream into reality. I look forward to the growth and learning that the future holds and hope you will join me in what’s next!

For those who don’t know what #IWD is…

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

I love this quote from their website:

“IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere. Inclusion means all IWD action is valid.”

Today has been the perfect whirlwind of a way to spend this special day. I woke up this morning and spoke at the East Valley Association of REALTORS to celebrate #IWD, #WomensHistoryMonth, and (of course) talk about WomanUP!®.

My talk was on the JOY of Living Aligned… choosing and using your core values to guide you…ditching the senseless hustle, listening to your soul’s whisper of what you want more of, and then putting it on your calendar… uncovering and supporting a guiding word to help you remember what matters most to you when the world pulls you into the hustle and hurry culture. It was beautiful to see the divine humans in the room experience their A-Ha moments during each slide. I love my Soul Work so deeply and do not take any of these opportunities for granted. Thank you to Karah McCormies Shaw for inviting me to speak into her vibrant, loving community. My heart was overflowing as I walked out the door.

Then, Sara, Jules (Sara’s daughter), Melanie, and I made the drive down to Oceanside to walk the location of the 2023 #WomanUP reTREAT – The Seabird. We toured our space and vision cast what we would host in each nook and cranny. The main stage… the shared meals… the introverts lounge… registration… wine tasting… yoga… meditation… THIS is going to be an incredible experience for each and every attendee. I also took some quiet time to reflect on the day with a walk along the beach. The ocean heals me and reminds me to slow down and center myself.

I am entering the new year with these words…
Rest. Reflect. Reinvent. Refine.

I have been on a transformational journey. This year’s series of events – both tragic and magic – have made it a wild, memorable one.

To start, I am reveling in my transition from the Mother archetype stage into my Wild Woman (aka Enchantress) years. Perimenopause has been in full force, and I feel the journey thru Menopause will soon be complete. In the heat of this season (pun intended), I’ve read nearly 100 books, written and consumed hundreds of articles, and listened to even more podcasts on topics that stirred my Spirit and set my Soul – set ME – on an inspiring, magical path. 

The more connected I become to my authentic self and the more time I spend in and learning about nature, the less connected I am to the ways of this hustle-and-hurry culture. The headlines packed with lists of things “you must do” during the final week of the year no longer resonate with me. 

As I reflect on the last decade, I see the process slowly unfolding in front of me. Who I am today is who I was becoming all along… I see how key choices I have made are part of me now.

For example…

Ditching the senseless hustle (and disappointment) of “New Year’s Resolutions” and switching to choosing one word to guide me during the year. I started this ritual over a decade ago, and look forward to it every year. Want to join me? Click here

This is also an excellent time to review your “recurring appointments” and delete those that no longer sign to or serve your highest and best purpose. Do you still NEED to be at all of those meetings you’ve collected? Is there someone else better suited for that volunteer role you have held for years? Be honest with yourself and remember – if it isn’t your best YES, it is someone else’s. Don’t snag their opportunity out of obligation. Saying no serves others in ways you haven’t imagined!

Listening to my intuition – immediately. Confidently saying no to opportunities that don’t align with my values and reserving my energy and presence for the holy hell yes opportunities has been a journey. Our Creator gave us intuition for a reason, and I am no longer second-guessing it. I would rather be true to myself than do things perfectly. This is big for me.

Where have you ignored yours? What is your soul whispering to you? Is there a new passion project you want to start? Maybe it’s time to let something go and create space for divine flow in your life. Take some time to slow down and listen to that still voice inside. She is wise.

Believing in my sacred power to manifest.
Taking time to recognize and celebrate has carried me through some truly dark days, and it inspires me to stay in my flow, release control over the outcome, and learn the art of “being” as I step more into the life of my dreams. My go-to mantra this year was “Everything is always working out for me…”

I continue to work on worrying less about what people think about me and my choices and focusing more on living out loud and making myself proud. Being still and present in a hustle culture takes gumption and grit of another kind. There is more to be done here, and I look forward to the learnings ahead.

At this moment, when I close my eyes and listen to my body, she is calling for me to rest, renew, reflect, and recharge. I feel her craving longer soaks in bubble baths, snuggle puddles with Drew and Lizzie, and days filled with tea and books and fuzzy socks in rooms with warm candles, exquisite crystals, fluffy blankets, and divine cards.

I don’t have a business plan written for 2023.  *gasp*

I have started and stopped my vision casting process more times than I care to count… There is ZERO flow happening, which means it is not the time – for me.

I am listening.
I am staying in the flow.
I am releasing the pressure.
I am trusting the process.

Beloved, there is no law or rule saying I need to plan my business rhythms by the traditional January-December Gregorian calendar. My tech is savvy enough to pull data for things that require a traditional quarterly schedule – like taxes.

While researching the origins of New Year’s Resolutions, I found this article and squealed with validation and confirmation. Here is what I read:

“The ancient Babylonians are said to have been the first people to make New Year’s resolutions, some 4,000 years ago. They were also the first to hold recorded celebrations in honor of the new year—though for them the year began not in January but in mid-March when the crops were planted.” 

MID-MARCH.

Another example showing how my intuition is spot on!

In reality, most of the business world was designed by a patriarchal system woven tightly with much more reverence for masculine energy, hustle, and drive than feminine energy, creativity, and flow. This isn’t “bad” – it is simply out of balance. This explains why it doesn’t work for me and never felt like it fit.

There is nothing written in stone that says we must work 50-52 weeks of the year to have a flourishing business. One decision I have written on my vision board is to plan my work around 42 weeks. Knowing I am reclaiming time and space for peace and play feels incredible. I believe I am a magnificent magnet for money. What I need to thrive can and will be attracted in as little or as much time as I want to invest. I want to shine brightly and not burn out or miss out on living a lusciously luxurious life.

I’m free to run my business in different cycles.
Seriously, who is going to stop me?

I love this quote my beloved goddess sister, Molly McKinley, shared in her book “The Intentional Business”:

“We should understand that our businesses are not separate from the natural world. The unity of a collective beat creates a deeply connected, rooted base that is difficult to dislodge. Our job as entrepreneurs and business leaders is to tune into this rhythm and to honor its wisdom.”

I will do something new and flow with the glorious seasons this year.

I will embrace my freedom to hibernate and enjoy hygge in the coldest winter months, plan and vision cast when the sun shines longer each day, and plant seeds that burst out with new ideas in the Spring. I will harvest the rewards all summer long and enjoy travel while celebrating life in the Autumn.

I will look to the lunar cycles to keep me on track – honoring my family’s farming roots. Yes, I do subscribe to The Old Farmer’s Almanac! ;)

New Moon = New Beginnings
Waxing Crescent = Setting Intentions
First Quarter = Taking Action
Waxing Gibbous = Refine + Revaluate
Full Moon = Harvesting
Waning Gibbous = Practicing Gratitude
Last Quarter = Releasing
Waning Crescent = Surrendering

There will be moments I’ll need to step out of hibernation or plant/harvest something earlier than expected, but those will be the exceptions – not the law of the land.

On this day, I also reflect on my guiding word. 2022’s was SOVEREIGNTY.

A reclaiming of many things occurred amongst the drama and trauma of what I can easily say was one of the hardest years of my life. The word served me well. A couple of the letters had a necessary shift in meaning after the floods in our home, the death of our dear Papa T, intense health issues, and the birth of our Full Moon Baby in July – my Grand Niece, Zemira.

I know I did my best to embrace the flow and release what no longer served me or my highest purpose.

When I weave these reflections, feelings, words, and visions together, they create the most beautiful tapestry.

In my mind’s eye, it is filled with deep brick red threads alongside marigold, pumpkin, gamboge, peacock blues, and olive green – like this Eduardo Rodriguez Calzado painting!

In 2023, I will follow my intuition, experience bliss in the flow, AND run a flourishing, soulful business. I deeply believe these will harmoniously coexist.

I know it will involve intentional planning and action, along with sides of reflection, refinement, rest, and a delicious serving of grace on grace on grace.

Hello, Beloved!

It’s here! Today, I celebrate 10 years + 11 days in business. Wow. It’s been an incredible honor to invest a decade in building, growing, and serving alongside you.

Like many of you, I have undergone a divine transformation over these last few years. A bit about Lacey:

Lacey, along with her husband Charlie, owns and operates Cairdeas Winery on the north shore of beautiful Lake Chelan. Specializing in Rhône Inspired Wines, the couple produces 5,000 cases of wine annually. Previously, Lacey held marketing management roles in the fields of nonprofit, events, and hospitality. She currently serves on the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and on the Washington State Wine Commission Board of Directors. She lives in Manson, WA with her husband and two sons.

16: The New New Testament

“Over the past century, numerous lost scriptures have been discovered, authenticated, translated, debated, celebrated. Many of these documents were as important to shaping early Christian communities and beliefs as what we have come to call the New Testament. These were not the work of shunned sects or rebel apostles, not alternative histories or doctrines, but part of the vibrant conversations that sparked the rise of Christianity. 1. What’s on your heart right now?  What are you working on?

Coni’s Answer:

I have spent the last couple of years on my vision of helping 30 million people be better prepared for disasters and other crises that affect our lives and businesses. If your business works with consumers and businesses you have an opportunity to not only save lives, property, and money by giving back but increase your business at the same time. Now is the time and opportunity for you to shine as a leader in your community. 

The numbers are staggering when it comes to what is happening to our world and people don’t want to think about preparedness, it’s like people not wanting to write a will because they have to think about dying. The pandemic has shown how important it is for us to be prepared.  61% of Americans believe they are going to be affected by a disaster or crisis in the next 3-5 years. Only 15%-30% have done any kind of preparation. And I can guarantee you that 30% really are not prepared. According to FEMA 75% of all businesses that are affected by a disaster will be out of business in 2 years if they do not have a plan. NOAA – 2016-2020 Weather-related disasters cost taxpayers $130.2 billion, 2021 $145.0 billion

2021 had 7.6 million acres burned from wildfires with fires as far east as Minnesota in the North and Kentucky and the Carolina’s in the Southeast. 

Man-made disasters are on the rise as well. When I wrote the course on man-made disasters, experts were saying that cyberattacks could cost $7.1 trillion, 2021  cyberattacks cost 7.1 trillion alone. The number of deaths from shootings went from 2019 with 12 Mass Shootings 247 casualties with 97 fatalities.  2021 693 incidents, 3545 casualties with 703 fatalities. Our power grid is in need of huge repairs that will cost trillions. 

In addition, it is important that we look at our carbon footprint and our role in climate change. Scientists are saying that it is possible that by 2030, 8 years from now if we don’t reduce the number of greenhouse gasses, it could be that climate change will be irreversible. We need to look at this as a huge crystalline moment with an opportunity for all of us to shine and make a huge difference.

2. Why is this book so important? 

Coni’s Answer:

I speak with people all the time that say we really don’t have that many risks in my area when it comes to disasters.. I live in Las Vegas but a nasty winter storm in New England will affect me. It is our tax dollars that are picking up the costs and our insurance prices go up no matter where we live when large claims need to be paid out. Some insurance experts are saying that homes could become uninsurable at some point in time.  There are already areas now that the only kind of insurance available is through the state funded FAIR plans, most of which are taxpayer based programs. What happens to the real estate industry if that happens. What happens to the ability to buy a home? In addition, when we think about preparedness there are many other things than disasters that we can prepare for that could go wrong in our lives and businesses. This book addresses what needs to be done in many different scenarios. There is a silver lining in this book.

Victims and first responders will tell you the most important thing you need to have is a resilient mindset when the unthinkable happens. I  talk about resilient mindset, communication and leadership which apply to all aspects of our lives. . When I talk about preparedness, look at risk factors such as illness, loss of a job or business, divorce, etc. What you will learn in this book will help you for all kinds of events that can happen. The most important thing we need to know is that everything starts with mindset. If we are prepared, if we have drilled and if we have a plan for recovery we are going to be resilient no matter what happens. Being resilient keeps us moving forward. We look at how we can build back better.  In the emergency, world resiliency is used when looking at infrastructure, community and businesses. They are always looking at what they can mitigate, build better and do to prevent events from destroying. Communities. This book will help to create resiliency in how we think about all aspects of our lives.

3. How can this book make a difference in people’s lives? 

Coni’s Answer:

If you are prepared, if you help your community be better prepared you can save lives, save property and lots of money. When you look at what you can do to reduce your carbon footprint and be more sustainable you will be protecting the planet for your children, your grandchildren and for some of us our great grandchildren. I have to say I would think twice if I were young today and thinking about having children. BUT we can change what is happening and make a difference. What would you rather do, put your head in the sand and not think about it, or be a part of the solution. What is beautiful, if you choose the latter, whatever business you are in you will become a hero. If you are in a real estate or a related industry, you could be saving your industry. That is how important this is! PLUS now you have a huge opportunity. When someone wants your services just who are they going to call. THEY ARE GOING TO CALL YOU. 

4. You mentioned this book can be white-labeled.  What is the benefit of white labeling?

Coni’s Answer:

I designed this book as a tool that can be used to help communities. I want people to take this book to their schools, churches, civic organizations, staff, teams, clients and customers. I want them to use it to increase their business. You can white label the book and add your information to the book plus add a chapter about why you want to give back and why you are passionate about the work you do. Each time they look at their emergency kits (by the way you need at least 4) and their emergency plans they are going to remember you and thank you for providing for their family and community.

If you don’t want to white label the book, simply staple a business card to the book and you will  be remembered.  This book will go with the manuals for the house.  This is not the kind of book that is going to go on a bookshelf never to be looked at again. They are reminded in the book to review their plans and kits a minimum of once a year.

For what seems like decades, I have chosen a word to guide me each year. It served me better than putting together a list of resolutions or goals that I wasn’t fully engaged with – simply because it was January 1. Choosing a word that represented the feelings I wanted to feel MORE OF in the year ahead is much more suited to my soul-centered approach to living. 

This year, I chose SOVEREIGNTY… or to be real – she chose me. 

It’s time for me to activate my sovereignty on a higher level and reclaim my power – from all times and places I have left it along the way! Like Thecla, there are pieces of me out there that it’s time to call back home to me.

To me, sovereignty goes beyond independence, it’s about standing in the full power of your truest self. I’ve done so much sacred Work to see, love, and understand my authentic self and now it is time to let her run wild and free… and to fill my soultank so I am prepared to guide others who seek to do the same.

I plan to set aside sacred time to deepen my spiritual practice + daily rituals to help me embrace my wild, reengage my magic, and vibrate at a higher frequency this year and beyond. Over the years, I have really noticed how powerful my thoughts are becoming and how I am divinely created to use them in powerful ways. To do this at my highest and best, I must slow down and pay attention.  This time will also help prepare me for my sacred Work engaging, elevating, and empowering women. Being their guide is a privilege I do not take for granted.

I will wake up and ask myself these questions: (yes, before touching my phone!)

• What is it I need more of in my life today? 
• How do I want to show up today? 
• What does God have for me today and how can I serve my purpose?

I have key goals I would love to accomplish this year, including the launch of my MoxieOnFire.com collaboration project and if at all possible, host a retreat for the divine sisterhood in my life. During one of our Spill the Tea shows this summer, Molly and I were vision casting this retreat… including what we would call it. While we were talking, I received a beautiful download around the word G.O.D.D.E.S.S. It is now an acronym and stands for “Gathering of Divine Daughters Embracing Sacred Sisterhood”! This will inspire us as we put each and every detail together.

The last two years were filled with magnificent highs, devastating lows, and ooooooodles of blasé moments… as an empath and lightworker – it feels like I felt it all – all the time. It was hard to shut it off and rest, so this year I am committing to myself to intentionally carve out time to rest and recharge. I will schedule hours and days to create art and collect beautiful items to adorn my sacred spaces. I vow to nurture my beloved relationships with a deeper focus on special time with Drew. We just celebrated the 21st anniversary of our first date and I don’t ever want to lose our magic.

Woven throughout all of this, I want to intentionally activate and integrate my divinely sovereign feminine and masculine energies. When they are balanced, I am able to serve others at my highest and best… focused on the good of all and the harm of none.

I am so fired up to share this chat with the brilliant April Reagan about her book Bridge Makers: Becoming a Citizen Futurist. It is nonfiction that speaks to life-long learners and optimists who want to look at innovation and activism in a new way.

Author April Reagan is a futures-thinking veteran of the high-tech world recently publishing her first work in Bridge Makers: Becoming a Citizen Futurist. April loves attending the Consumer Electronics Show each year, seeing the latest and greatest innovations, and being surrounded by thousands of other future optimists. 

April is a: Lecturer, Researcher, Consultant, and Author of Bridge Makers: Becoming a Citizen Futurist

April has worked for Intel, Microsoft, Samsung, and Fjord Design and Innovation (part of Accenture Interactive), and now works as an independent consultant – as well as a part-time lecturer at the University of Washington, Bothell.

Without further ado, here’s April.

1. How do you define SUCCESS?

I believe success is – ultimately – the feeling of personal satisfaction from making a positive difference. This comes in many forms!

2. Share the THREE WORDS that describe you BEST and why!

1: Curious: I am a researcher at heart – I want to know more about pretty much everything; 

2: Empathetic: I care for every person I come in contact with and work to understand diverse perspectives and when possible help people find optimism; 

3: Fun: I am light-hearted, cheesy, and rarely too serious. 

All of these things have pros and cons!

3. What are your favorite soultank-filling activities?

Going to the beach and soaking up the salty air, feeling the sand, listening to the waves crash. It reminds me we are part of nature but that the power of nature is far stronger than us and is an energy source for us.

4. What does MOXIE mean to you?

Confidence and courage – and using one to create the other – doing what’s right and being adventurous lovers of change.

5. What is ONE WORD guiding you right now?

Expand – expand possibilities, my mind, my self-worth, and so much more. Our lungs expand as we breathe in air and life.

6. Final Words? Anything you want to highlight?

I launched my book Bridge Makers: Becoming a Citizen Futurist last month and will be following on with lots of contents and hopefully more appearances like this!

However, every once in a while, I will get a question on how an affirmation (or positive self-talk) works if you simply do NOT believe it or feel it.

Simply put, I don’t believe affirmations help us if we can’t connect to the words we are reciting. If you can’t feel the feelings you will feel when the vision you are painting is a reality – you are possibly even harming your potential to achieve it!

So, now what? Create a thought ladder!

I believe in order to bridge that gap between what you currently think and feel and what you would like to think and feel,  you can start to think of your thoughts like climbing a ladder.  This process is called creating a “Thought Ladder”. Starting where you are and gradually climbing a ladder

by using the following steps:

Step 1 – Begin by assigning the bottom step on the ladder with your current thoughts. Usually, these tend to have a negative flair to them… 

An example of the bottom of the ladder: I may have gotten the promotion, but it was only because I am a woman and they are being forced to diversify leadership positions.

Step 2 – Head all the way to the top of the ladder and write the new (and likely more positive) thoughts you WANT to replace that thought.  It’s okay if you do NOT believe this year.  That is what this process is all about, my friend. 

An example of the top of the ladder: I am proud of my accomplishments and celebrate the successful woman I have become.

Step 3 – Now it is time to fill in the middle steps! Write out three alternative thoughts that will help you bridge the gap between the bottom thought and the top one.  

An example of the entire ladder:

1. 1. 1. The Top: POSITIVE! This is the full-blow positive (non-toxic) affirmation!
      2. Slightly positive – you are almost there!
      3. Neutral (no feeling)
      4. Still negative, but less intensely negative than your current thought
      5. The Bottom: Negative, self-deprecating, filled with imposter syndrome

Step 4 – Read through the entire thought ladder and choose which thought resonates the most with you.

Once you choose it, practice it daily! Let it soak into your bones.

Step 5: Once you’ve practiced that thought and are ready for the next one – take that next step.

Keep climbing up to the next thought on the ladder until you reach AND believe your ultimate thought on the top of the ladder.

In order to change your brain and close the gap between what you currently think and what you’d like to think – be consistent and give yourself grace. 

Start today by implementing a daily practice of reviewing the thoughts and repeating the next one up that resonates the loudest! As you continue to intentionally choose a higher vibration thought and feeling, they will help you train your brain to make that new thought the FIRST thought!

Mary Magdalene – Chapter 8

In honor of Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day, on July 22nd, we decided to discuss her chapter in Sophie Bashford’s book – You Are A Goddess.

We also talk about her Feast Day, the story of the Red Egg, and the true story of Mary Magdalene – not the lies passed down for over 1300 years.

Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day:

In 2016, Pope Francis bumped this “memorial” into a full feast day of the Catholic church, making St. Mary Magdalene the only woman other than Mary (the Mother of Jesus) to have an actual feast day above memorial level.

In the Catholic religion, she’s the Patron Saint of Women.

Truths About Mary Magdalene

She was a beloved disciple of Jesus

She wrote her very own Gospel. (Check out Karen King’s translation here: https://www.amazon.com/Gospel-Mary-Magdala-Jesus-Apostle/dp/0944344585)

She was present as Jesus took his final breath on the cross

She discovered the empty tomb on Easter

She is known as the “Apostle of the Apostles” Yes – a teacher + missionary of men.

She was portrayed Scripturally to have a primary role over Jesus’ female followers

She is an anchor for the feminine and masculine divine flames

 

I love thinking about and honoring how brave Mary Magdalene was to be present as her Koinonos (Greek for Companion) Jesus was crucified – when many of the other apostles were hiding to avoid being arrested themselves. 

 

Now here are some things that St. Mary Magdalene was NOT:

she was not a prostitute

she was not the woman from the Bible that washes Jesus’ feet with her tears and her hair

 

Did you know?

The portrayal of Mary Magdalene as a prostitute began after a series of Easter sermons delivered in 591 when Pope Gregory I conflated Mary Magdalene, who was introduced in Luke 8:2, with Mary of Bethany (Luke 10:39) and the unnamed “sinful woman” who anointed Jesus’s feet in Luke 7:36–50.

Let me be clear. THE POPE MADE IT UP and this outrageous, misogynistic gossip and horrific LIE was told for over 1300 years. For well over 11 million hours this false narrative was shared. Think about that. When anyone “has concerns” about my questioning and studying the Scripture for myself – I share this story. I also share it when people say “men don’t gossip – only women do”.

Although these things were traditionally associated with Mary Magdalene, the Catholic FINALLY church came forward in the 1960’s saying that there is no reason to believe that Mary Magdalene was either of these other women mentioned in the Bible. One (the “great sinner”) goes unnamed, and it is believed the woman that washes his feet with her tears and dries them with her hair may have been Mary of Bethany, also the sister of Lazarus.

In the 80’s I was still taught that Mary was a whore turned saint… I am sure many of you reading this have never heard the truth until today. It took 1,425 years for the church to truly honor Mary Magdalene in a manner fitting her part of the story and the red threads she connected when she walked this planet.

  May we all wake up and recognize the focus and wisdom of feminist energy. 

  May we all shed the lies spoken over and into us for so many years and proudly celebrate Mary Magdalene as a worthy inspiration.

Christian tradition says that when Mary met the Roman emperor Tiberius Caesar at a banquet, she held up a plain egg and told him: “Christ is risen!”. The emperor laughed and told Mary that the idea of Jesus Christ rising from the dead was as unlikely as the egg she held turning red in her hands. But the egg did turn a bright shade of red while Tiberius Caesar was still speaking. That miracle caught the attention of everyone at the banquet, which gave Mary the opportunity to share the Gospel message with everyone there.

Until the patriarchy saw her power grow and she was forced to flee to the South of France to live out her days – alone in a cave near Sainte-Baume.
