The SixSixOne Evo Knee Guards have been improved for 2012, they continue to benefit from D3O technology. One of the changes is there is now only one Velcro strap at the top of the knee pad to help keep them in place, with no lower strap these knee guards don’t bunch up. Pedalling movement is free and unhindered and the cut outs allow better airflow, coverage around the knee is good.

More importantly, they can take a knock and don’t baulk at a bit of rough treatment.

The reviewer was very complimentary on the Rival/D3O punch mitts, they were described as being “incredibly light, highly breathable and the inner microfiber lining is super comfortable. Putting them on for the first time I was damn near sure these would be some of the best pads money could buy.”

“Well, it seems I stand corrected. I went looking for waterproof and textile jackets today and D3O padding IS CE certified. I ended up purchasing the DriRider climate control Exo jacket; which has the CE certified D3O armour.”

“It is FAR more comfortable than the standard CE approved armour in the other jackets I tried on. It has a few of these D3O tags over it and it even came with a pamphlet saying it is approved. I only purchased it as it had a better fit and was easily more comfortable than the others I tried on. The padding is way more flexible than I gave it credit for and it feels nice and snug when on.”

In the YouTube video the presenter Casey Mast is wearing a Xion D3O protective top and compares the Rival D3O Headgear against competing Headgear. Casey received a real battering wearing both items but gave them both a big thumbs up.
