I make them pretty much once or twice a month, depending on how much good music comes out. From now on, I'm going to be listing the track lists of them, and have them available for download through my Instant Messanger name. Jay-Z - Dirt Off Your Shoulder
Album: The Black Album
Year: 2003

This song is the one for me. Please remember that this isn't the authoritative list of the greatest songs, but rather my personal favorites. When you talk about a song having all of the perfect parts, this is the blueprint. First, it's got Jay-Z, the Greatest Of All Time, on what MAY be his best album, in his prime. They call Jigga the "King Of Flows," and this song shows why. It also has the best beat from probably the best producerIf you haven't seen "Fade To Black", the Jay-Z live DVD, I highly recommend it. It has footage of him recording The Black Album with all of the greatest producers, and the scene of him recording "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" is the best. He basically walks into Timbo's studio, rejects a bunch of the beats he has lined up...until he hears this one. He knew a classic when he heard it. And this one is certainly a classic.

Best Lines: Jay-Z

Your homey Hov' in position, in the kitchen with soda
I just whipped up a watch, tryin to get me a Rover
Tryin to stretch out the coca, like a wrestler, yessir
Keep the Heckler close, you know them smokers'll test ya
But like, fifty-two cards when I'm, I'm through dealin
Now fifty-two bars come it, now you feel 'em
Now, fifty-two cars roll out, remove ceiling
In case fifty-two broads come out, now you chillin
with a boss bitch of course S.C. on the sleeve
At the 40/40 club, ESPN on the screen
I paid a grip for the jeans, plus the slippers is clean
No chrome on the wheels, I'm a grown-up for real

Thanks to everyone for tuning into the list. I hope you enjoyed it. Outkast - Bombs Over Baghdad
Album: Stankonia
Year: 2000

This song held the top spot for me for a long, long time. I didn't think anything could ever topple this one...and Number One only beats this one by a hair. BOB is the perfect song because it appeals to everyone: fast, intricate raps for hip-hop heads, electric guitar for the rockers, and a bangin' beat for everyone that loves to hear a good ole' fashion rap tune. Outkast could be the greatest rap duo of all time, and the first single off of the fantastic Stankonia is their best song, in my humble opinion. I think I listened to this song like 76 times in a row when I first heard it. I wish that Andre would go back to rapping when thinking about this song. I feel bad even putting this at 2...it's really more of a 1A.

Best Lines: Andre 3000

In-slum-national, underground
Thunder pounds when I stomp the ground (Woo!)
Like a million elephants with silverback orangutans
You can't stop a train
Who want some? Nobody really knew who Juvie was before this...sure, he had "Ha", but I don't think that people really took him seriously until this song. The thing that makes this song so great is its staying power. It came out 8 YEARS AGO...and if it came on in a club, it would STILL tear the roof off. You don't like this song for the insightful lyrics...you love it because it makes you want to shake yo ass, and thats fine with me.

Best Lines: Juvenile

Girl you workin with some ass yeah, you bad yeah
Make a n---a spend his cash yeah, his last yeah
Hoes frown when you pass yeah, they mad yeah
You gon' ride in the Jag yeah, with that head
You could smoke a fire bag yeah, of grass yeah
Got money I can flash yeah, and trash yeah

#4

4. Throw Jamie Foxx, who before this was just an actor, on the hook and you've got a recipe for success.

Best Lines: Twista

I love the way you be holdin me when I be listenin to Jodeci
And when I come over and bend ya ass, you be bumpin Teddy Pendergrass
I done hit it from the back, to the melody and rode it slow
Now I got to go up in it fast, but I'mma finish last
No matter how much of a thug you see
I still spit it like it's R&B, come to the club wit me
And when some Luther come on I hope you feelin me
and still will be in love wit me

#15-11

15. Ludacris - Roll Out (My Business)
Album: Word Of Mouf
Year: 2001

Ludacris' flow is absolutely fantastic on this song. Put that with the blaring horns of a nasty Timbaland beat and you've got this wonderful classic. Luda does it all in this song; some parts fast, some parts slow. All parts awesome.

Best Lines: Ludacris

Now where'd you get that platinum chain with them diamonds in it?
Where'd you get that matchin Benz with them windows tinted?
Who dem girls you be with when you be ridin through?
Man I ain't got nothin to prove, I paid my dues
Breakin the rules, I shake fools while I'm takin a CRUISE!

14. Jurassic 5 - Jurass Finish First
Album: Quality Control
Year: 2000

Although this probably isn't as well known as a lot of other J5 songs...it is everything that is great about them. You just get the feeling that these guys LOVE rapping. They love the fact that they are getting paid to do something as fun as that. Chali 2na DESTROYS this song, as always...I think that his verses in this song may be some of the best EVER.

Best Lines: Chali 2na

Yo, because of cash in the purse, guns blast in the hearse
A vast universe when the last is the first
The past been a curse, I need some asprin to nurse
It's your casket in earth, or my ass when it hurts
A passionate burst of some last-minute work
First the human bodies are living last in this Earth
Puffing grass when it works, a bastard at birth
But at last planet Earth, 5 Jurass finish first
(Stashed in this verse) Burning like gas on a torch
(Graspin' a thought) Some don't see past their front porch
(Masked in a smirk) No doubt my class been alert
Verbal splash for your thirst, 5 Jurass finish first

13. Juvenile ft. Mannie Fresh - I Got That Fire
Album: Tha G-Code
Year: 2000

You know how much I love Cash Money. I don't really care how ridiculous this song is. It's basically about Juvenile having coitus with his big "Oscar Mayer". It's also just a continuation of "Back That Azz Up". But I DON'T CARE. Juvey, and especially Mannie Fresh, kill this song. Just like Juvey's first hit, he drops the first two verses and Mannie bats clean up. If you love Cash Money, you love this song, bottom line.

Best Lines: Mannie Fresh

You lil' vivrant thang
You like Burger King?
Well, you can go ‘head and swing on tha Whopper Ding-a-ling
You make me really lump up in tha pants
every time I see your sexy ass do that dance

12. 50 Cent - In Da Club
Album: Get Rich Or Die Tryin'
Year: 2003

The world's introduction to Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent. I remember before this song came out, he had the biggest buzz maybe of all-time. He had Dr. Dre and Em in his corner who were both pulling for this kid who got shot 9 times. I didn't really know whether to believe it until I heard this song. He's put out a lot of stuff since this came out 3 years ago...but nothing will ever touch his first single. His flow fits what is probably Dre's best beat perfectly. Not a huge fan of 50, but this song will always do it for me.

Best Lines: 50 Cent

If you watch how I move you'll mistake me for a player or pimp
Been hit wit a few shells but I don't walk wit a limp (I'm aight)
In the hood, in L.A. they sayin "50 you hot"
They like me, I want them to love me like they love 'Pac

11. DMX - Ruff Ryders Anthem
Album: It's Dark And Hell Is Hot
Year: 1998

STOP...DROP...SHUT EM DOWN OPEN UP SHOP...OH...NO...THATS HOW RUFF RYDERS ROLL. This song is so great in that it is just so simple. Swizz Beatz made this in like 7 minutes, added a dude saying, "WHAT!" every 3 seconds and gave it to Dark Man X. Still a song that could incite an absolute riot if played in the wrong place.

Best Lines: DMX

Stop, drop, shut 'em down open up shop
Oh, no
That's how Ruff Ryders roll

NEXT: MONDAY #10-6

#20-16

20. Jay-Z ft. U.G.K - Big Pimpin'
Album: Jay-Z - Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter
Year: 1999

Ooh man, what is with this crazy beat. It is exotic. And who are these U.G.K. guys? Awesome. A song that just makes you wanna go out by the pool and chill baby. One of Timbaland's truly amazing beats, and Bun B and Pimp C absolutely tear this song apart.

Best Lines: Bun B

It's the - big Southern rap impresario
Comin straight up out the black bar-rio
Makes a mill' up off a sorry hoe
Then sit back and peep my sce-nawr-e-oh
Oops, my bad, that's my scenario

19. Ja Rule - Holla Holla
Album: Venni Vetti Vecci
Year: 1999

Truly one of the great rap albums...it's a shame that Ja ended up being such a bitch. This song was just straight fire when it first came out. Great flow from Ja, spittin' those gritty rhymes over a ridiculous beat. Oh, that beat...real simple, but pretty much anyone could have had a hit with it.

Best Lines: Ja Rule

Cause we really need to be freaking off at any cost
Its on me, if you married, then get a divorce
When I hits it, some women get twisted
Have em' twitchin', like "Damn look what I done did"

18. Outkast - Ms. Jackson
Album: Stankonia
Year: 2000

"Never meant to make your daughter cry, I apologize a trillion times." A fantastic song that really showed a different side to Outkast. One of those absolutely unforgettable hooks, you will probably always remember this song.

Best Lines: Andre 3000

Ten times out of nine, now if I'm lyin; fine
The quickest muzzle throw it on my mouth and I'll decline
King meets queen, then the puppy love thing, together dream
bout that crib with the Goodyear swing
on the oak tree, I hope we feel like this forever
Forever, forever, ever, forever, ever?

17. Noreaga - Superthug
Album: N.O.R.E.
Year: 1998

Even I'm surprised that I ranked this one that high...but I would seriosuly freak out if I just turned on the radio and this was randomly on. He made an entire hook of one word OVER AND OVER. But this is the Neptunes we are talking about. And this was the Neptunes' first mega-hit. And NORE's nonsense raps work just well enough for this one to be a classic.

Best Lines: Noreaga

Aiyyo, we light a candle
Run laps around the english channel
Neptunes, I got a cockerspaniel

16. Clipse - Grindin'
Album: Lord WIllin'
Year: 2002

Ohhhh boy. This is a beat that sounds like it took Pharrell about 8 minutes to make. There's no way that Chad was involved with this one, he wouldn't have let this thing leave the studio. I really wish that The Clipse would come out with some more stuff, because this song is one of the best. Even if it is all about dealing that yayo.

Best Lines: Pusha T

From ghetto to ghetto, to backyard to yard
I sell it whip on whip, it's off the hard
I'm the...neighborhood pusha
Call me subwoofer, 'cause I pump "base" like that, Jack

NEXT: FRIDAY #15-10

#30-21

30. Jurassic 5 - What's Golden
Album: Power In Numbers
Year: 2002

This song was great when it came out because J5 hadn't put anything out in a while, and this song was just what I needed to fall in love with them again. Another unbelievable verse from Chali 2na.

29. The Game ft. 50 Cent - Hate It Or Love It
Album: The Documentary
Year: 2005

I could listen to this song for hours on end. Both 50 and Game rip this one...it's a shame that they want to kill each other because they were great together for the 6 months that they were in G-Unit together. The Cool & Dre beat is phenomenal.

28. Cam'ron ft. Juelz Santana - Oh Boy
Album: Come Home With Me
Year: 2002

This was the song that really jumped off Cam's popularity. He had some albums before this one...but this Just Blaze jam just blew him up. A lot of people probably think this song is mad annoying, but I love it. A major head-nodder.

27. Trick Daddy ft. Co, Deuce Poppito, Trina - Shut Up
Album: Book of Thugs: Chapter AK, Verse 47
Year: 2000

I remember the first time I ever heard this one...I was laying in bed listening to Power 102 (the greatest radio station of all-time) and this song comes on with these nasty-ass horns. One of those songs that when you hear it the first time, you run down to your computer to try and find it to download it. Quite possibly the dumbest hook of all time:

"Ah hah, okay, whassup? Shut up!"

26. Petey Pablo - Raise Up
Album: Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry
Year: 2001

Rarely does an unknown rapper step up to the plate and kill their first single...but that's what Petey Pablo did. Granted, it's not incredibly difficult when you've got a nasty Timbaland beat behind you, but it was just such an impressive first song. Petey Pablo isn't really a great rapper, but he is very different, and I like that. NOT included on this list is the USA Remix where Petey calls out Bin Laden.

25. Three 6 Mafia ft. Young Buck, Eightball & MJG - Stay Fly
Album: The Most Known Unknown
Year: 2005

I've always loved Three 6. They know who they are, and they keep making the same crunk music. The beat on this song is so ridiculous, you can't hate on this jam. Throw in the other big dogs in Memphis, with the legendary Eightball & MJG and the new kid on the block Young Buck, and you've got a winner. Even if this song is all about being a huge burnout.

24. Master P ft. Fiend, Mia X, Mystikal, Silkk the Shockker - Make 'Em Say Uhh!
Album: Ghetto D
Year: 1997

You can't help but go crazy when this old school jam comes on. Most of the rappers on this one aren't that good...but they are good enough. Mystikal caps off the song with a KILLER verse. The video for this one was ridiculous too. Who can forget Master P riding a gold tank into a high school basketball gym or Mystikal sitting on the hoop rapping?

23. Timbaland and Magoo ft. Shaunte - Luv 2 Luv Ya
Album: Welcome To Our World
Year: 1997

This song proves that you just can't beat a Timbaland beat. Timbaland and Magoo are pretty average rappers, but that doesn't matter on this song. This was a HUGE jam back in the day.

22. Tupac ft. Dr. Dre - California Love
Album: All Eyez On Me
Year: 1996

I don't really need to say much about this song...it's one of the greatest songs of all time, you know it and I know it.

"Out on bail fresh out of jail, California dreamin
Soon as I step on the scene, I'm hearin hoochies screamin
Fiendin for money and alcohol, the life of a Westside player
where cowards die, and the strong ball
Only in Cali where we riot not rally to live and die
In L.A. we wearin Chucks not Ballies (yeah, that's right)"

21. Juvenile - U Understand
Album: Tha G Code
Year: 1999

I thought that Juvenile might be a one hit wonder after "Back That Azz Up," but this song proved me totally wrong. He sticks with the simple formula of spitting a line and throwing something on the end of it (in this case, "ya undastand?" It works beautifully. One of the best Mannie Fresh beats ever.

NEXT: WEDNESDAY #20-15

#40-31

40. For some reason, Twista's machine gun flow sounds fantastic over Kanye's soulful beats. Throw in Miri Ben-Ari on the strings, and this song is a classic.

39. Jurassic 5 - Quality Control
Album: Quality Control
Year: 2000

This jam is just on that old Beastie Boys type of feel-good vibe, where J5 just flips the verses back and forth on a real simple beat. Everyone loves Chali 2na (the dude with the low voice) but everyone brings their best to one of J5's most popular songs. But I will leave you with one of Chali's verses to think about:

"Yo, yo, well it's the angelic man-relic clan repellent
My plan parent manuscripts withstand bullets
Flashing like a Japan tourist, we command pure hits
While you cramming to understand these contraband lyrics
My fam submits to pray, 5 times a day
Climbing into your mind with live rhyme display
J5 finds a way to remain supreme
Coming verbally Hardison as if my name was Kadeem"

38. Jay-Z - Dear Summer
Album: Memphis Bleek - 534
Year: 2005

A song that probably very few of you have actually heard unless you are as obsessed with Hov as I am. Trust me and download this one. Maybe I just love it so much because he came out with it after he "retired" and its just wishful thinking that he's gonna come back. And the thinly veiled jab at anyone who's come at him since he left is great is well. But it is an unbelivable song...and the best song on any Bleek album (who I enjoy) despite the fact that it's only Jigga on it.

37. Drag-On ft. Yung Wun - Down Bottom Remix
Album: Spit These Bars Single
Year: 1999

Even though Swizz got sued for ripping this beat off his Casio keyboard...there are few beats that are better at getting you pumped up. This was one of those songs where you first heard it and were like, "holy shit, this song is crazy!" It's a shame that Drag didn't live up to the hype that he had after this song, but his fast flow is amazing on this song. Maybe the dirtiest hook ever.

36. Q-Tip - Vivrant Thing
Album: Amplified
Year: 1999

Lovin' the jiggy beat on this one...it's just like "Breathe And Stop," in that it goes against everything that A Tribe Called Quest was. But you couldn't help but bump this song when it came out.

35. Outkast ft. Sleepy Brown - So Fresh, So Clean
Album: Stankonia
Year: 2000

Ain't nobody dope as me; I'm just so fresh, so clean. A great, smooth beat with a hook that you could sing along to. This was classic Outkast; you never hear music like this come out and blow up.

"Sir Luscious gots gator belts and patty melts and Monte Carlo's
and El Dorados; I'm wakin up out of my slumber feeling like Rollo"

34. Nelly ft. City Spud - Ride Wit' Me
Album: Country Grammar
Year: 2000

This song might not even be classified as rap by a lot of people, but I think it is. I think this is a song that would probably be on everybody's favorite song lists if you were in high school when this blew up. Unbelievably popular, I love it.

33. DMX - Intro
Album: It's Dark And Hell Is Hot
Year: 1998

The first song on one of the best albums of all time. If you come out to this song in a sporting event, it has been scientifically proven that you CANNOT lose. I don't think there's anyone who doesn't go crazy when this goes on. DMX could only go down when the very first song on his first album is a classic.

32. Ludacris ft. Twista, Jagged Edge - Freaky Thangs
Album: Word Of Mouf
Year: 2001

You know that if Eric Chitambar, my good friend and lover of death metal, loves this song, you know its awesome. Luda and Twista exchanging fast verses over a slow beat and Jagged Edge, my favorite R&B group, crooning over the hook makes this such a memorable song for me. Even the ridiculous dude at the end talking about goonie goo goo and wookies is great.

"I'm feelin you Luda', smokin my buddha, coochie recruiter
Comin at the fatty in a platinum Caddy so back it up fast
Hit it a hour and a half, watch the spectacular splash
on the back and leave it drippin down the crack of her ass
Call me Mr. Magillicuddy, chasin booty soft as silly putty
Killin for money, still a thug get bump; from some pokin
and locomotion hittin bunnies, for threesome getcha buddy
When I'm feelin scummy I love to cut"

31. Notorious B.I.G. ft. Kelly Price, Mase, Puff Daddy - Mo Money, Mo Problems
Album: Life After Death
Year: 1997

I don't think there is a person on the planet who doesn't like this song. The epitome of a Bad Boy jam at the height of the Bad Boy era. Man, when Biggie comes in is just an absolute classic moment in rap history in my opinion.

"B.I.G., P-O, P-P-A
No info, for the, DEA
Federal agents mad cause I'm flagrant
Tap my cell, and the phone in the basement
My team supreme, stay clean
Triple beam lyrical dream, I be that"

NEXT UP FRIDAY #30-21

#50-41

50. Beastie Boys - Body Movin'
Album: Hello Nasty
Year: 1998

Definitely my favorite Beasties song. Great beat with the Jamaican steel drums, classic Beastie Boys flipping verses.

49. Ice Cube ft. Mack 10 - You Can Do It
Album: War & Peace Vol. 2: The Peace Disc
Year: 2000

This song is the definition of a party jam. You can't help but get out of your seat when this one comes on. The Mack 10 verse is disposable, but Cube nails this one. Don't stop, get it get it!

48. Nelly - Country Grammar
Album - Country Grammar
Year - 2000

I remember when I first heard this song I was like, "What the hell is this? It isn't rap, but he ain't a singer either." Well, whatever. This song is pure fire, I don't care if you hate Nelly, you can't deny how catchy this song is. Nothing beats when this song comes on and all you hear is, "HOT SHIT!!!"

47. Big Tymers - Get Your Roll On
Album: I Got That Work
Year: 2000

Mannie Fresh and Baby are not good rappers. Actually, Baby is downright terrible. But this song is everything that was wonderful about the Cash Money era. One of the more famous hooks in recent memory, and great Mannie Fresh beat and a great gimmicky flow pattern. Throw in the traditional sexual references, flossing money and the about-to-be quoted line, and you have a total winner.

"Pop that Crist'.. pop that Mo'
SlaP that bitch.....punch that hoe"

45. Kanye West ft. Syleena Johnson - All Falls Down
Album: College Dropout
Year: 2004

A song that you just have to nod your head to. I love the original with Lauryn Hill as well. A nice rap about how self conscious we are, and that we make no apologies for it. Thanks Kanye, for letting me know that there's nothing wrong with rocking a Charlotte Hornets Starter jacket.

45. Jay-Z ft. Eminem - Renegades
Album: The Blueprint
Year: 2001

The Blueprint may be my favorite album of all-time. Jigga does it all on his own...with the exception of this song with Em. This was one of those super-team combinations that people dreamed about but thought would never happen, but it did and this was the fantastic result. This song may be Em's best verses ever, and his beat more than holds its own. Also download the original with Royce Da 5'9'', which is nasty as well.

"Since I'm in a position to talk to these kids and they listen
I ain't no politician but I'll kick it with 'em a minute
Cause see they call me a menace; and if the shoe fits I'll wear it
But if it don't, then y'all'll swallow the truth grin and bear it"

44. Mase - Feel So Good
Album: Harlem World
Year: 1997

One of the catchiest songs of all-time, no doubt. Another one the great hits of the Bad Boy era, where Puffy could do no wrong.

43. Q-Tip - Breathe And Stop
Album: Amplified
Year: 1999

I always loved A Tribe Called Quest, and I think most fans of them were pissed when Q-Tip went the commercial rap route...but I was not one of them. He came out with some absolute bangers, this being one of them. I just remember this one absolutely tearing up the radio.

42. Busta Rhymes - Break Yo Neck
Album: Genesis
Year: 2001

Busta always had these great albums despite having no-name producers on them, then he comes out with Genesis, which has Dre and Pharrell on the boards, and Busta comes with possibly his best ever album. Coincidence? I think not. This is one Dre's best beats ever in my opinion, and Busta's rapid-fire flow fits it to a T.

41. Outkast ft. Erykah Badu - Humble Mumble
Album: Stankonia
Year: 2000

One of the things that I love the most about this song is how it builds...Big Boi kills it with pretty much just the drums and Andre nails the full beat on the second half. There really is no group like Outkast, and this is one of the best examples of thier trademark sound.

"Back on the microphone, your number one controller
I rock the microphone like a blizzard;
I'm so cold I'm tryin' to hold ya
Life is like a great big roller coaster
Everything in life don't happen like it's suppose to"

WEDNESDAY #40-31

#60-51

60. Notorious B.I.G. ft. Puff Daddy, Lil' Kim - Notorious
Album: Born Again
Year: 1999

NO-NO-NO-NOTORIOUS!!! Great sample, fantastic song. Another one of those songs that mean more to me because of my history with it...Mr. Liverpool was never the same after SBZ ripped this one.

59. Busta Rhymes - Gimme Some More
Album: Extinction Level Event
Year: 1998

Busta should be remembered as one of the greatest of all time...but he won't. He just such a goofball. But he has been making albums for 15 years and is still ripping it today. Unbelievable fast flow over this beat that samples the Psycho theme.

58. Lil' Wayne ft. Hot Boyz - Shine
Album: Lights Out
Year: 2000

One of the greatest hits that Cash Money put out with all of them in it...such a great Mannie Fresh beat that just brings an absolute smile to your face. Weezy's verse is absolute FIRE, and when you realize that he was only like 17 when he cut this.

"OK, let's talk about this ice that I'm carryin
All these karats like I'm a fuckin vegetarian"

57. Nas - Made You Look
Album: God's Son
Year: 2002

The return of Nasty Nas was explosive with this song. Nas took alot of heat with his Stillmatic and Nastradamus albums because they were a litte too pop-ish. But this song came out with a grimey ass beat and one of New York's favorite sons was back.

56. Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg - The Next Episode
Album: 2001
Year: 1999

Just an unbelievable song that packs three of the West Coast greats into about 2:30. At the end when Nate Dogg rolls in is one of the most memorable moments in ANY song for me... "Hold up, waiiiiiiit..."

55. Puff Daddy ft. Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes - Victory
Album: No Way Out
Year: 1997

One of the great pump up songs, even Puffy sounds great on this. A beat that samples Rocky, Biggie ripping it and Busta's wicked hook all make this a major classic.

"Yo, the sun don't shine forever
But as long as it's here then we might as well shine together
Better now than never, business before pleasure
P. Diddy and the Fam, who you know do it better?"

54. Jay-Z ft. Amil, Ja Rule - Can I Get A
Album: Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life
Year: 1998

This is the song that brought to us the man known as Ja Rule. He was the young gun on the block who had so much promise...it's sad that he turned out the way he did, because he destroys this song. Coulda done without Amil, but Jigga nails it too.

53. Nappy Roots - Awnaw
Album: Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz
Year: 2002

This may be a surprise for a lot of people, but I love this song. A great soulful beat, and Nappy Roots hit it out of the park on their first-ever single. Even that crazy guy at the end who isn't really a rapper but still raps is killer.

52. Big Pun ft. Donnell Jones - It's So Hard
Album: Yeeeah Baby
Year: 2000

A great song with a great simple beat. Pun nails it, and the song is pretty ironic considering that he died right before it came out.

"Rollin with the Squad, we like Gods
Catch us at the bar-de-bar-de-bars
Strip bars in Miami, almost came home with the Grammy
Next year, bringin home three for the family
Watch me, you can catch it live on the Hitachi
Poppin shit like a Nazi, iced out like DeBiase
Fuck that, Liberace
Fo'-X Versace, somebody stop me!"

51. Cam'ron ft. Kanye West, Syleena Johnson - Down And Out
Album: Purple Haze
Year: 2004

Cam'ron puts out a TON of garbage...but he shows he can bring it if you put him with a sick producer like Kanyeezy, and he absolutely obliterates this beat. This might be one of my favorite beats of all time.

"Uh uh aiyyo street mergers I legislated
The nerve I never hated
On murders pre-meditated
Absurd I hesitated
Observe cock and spray
Hit you from a block away
Drinking Saki on a Suzuki we in Osaka Bay"

MONDAY #50-41

#70-61

70. A simple beat, complete with chicken sounds, which is worth listening to just to hear Three 6 flip verses at the end.

"I been known to hold my own
I been known to ride on chrome
I been known to flip a platinum watch wit the diamond stones"

69. Ludacris ft. Mystikal, I-20 - Move Bitch
Album: Word Of Mouf
Year: 2001

A banging beat that fits the song perfectly. I'm pretty sure I'll still be saying, "MOVE BITCH, GET OUT THE WAY!" when I have roda rage when I'm an old man. Mystikal really brings it on this song, one of his best outings.

68. Puff Daddy ft. Mase - Can't Nobody Hold Me Down
Album: No Way Out
Year: 1997

I really just love this song because Harold and I did this at Cathay Hanover karaoke last summer.

67. Talib Kweli ft. Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes - Get By Remix
Album: Get By Single
Year: 2002

Kweli + Kanye beat = Perfect match. Kweli + Kanye beat + Jigga + Busta = classic jam.

66. Youngbloodz ft. Lil' Jon - Damn!
Album: Drankin' Patnaz
Year: 2003

Youngbloodz have always been a pretty solid dirty south group, but this song catapulted them thanks to who else...Lil' Jon. One thing I love about this song is how the beat starts out stripped, and builds up to this complete monster.

65. Notorious B.I.G. - Hypnotize
Album: Life After Death
Year: 1997

One of Biggie's best, this song would be a classic with most anyone with this beat. But Big just totally rips it.

"Timbs for my hooligans in Brooklyn
Dead right, if the head right, Biggie there ery'night
Poppa been smooth since days of Underroos
Never lose, never choose to, bruise crews who
do something to us, talk go through us"

64. Jay-Z ft. Pharrell - I Just Wanna Love You (Give It To Me)
Album: The Dynasty: Roc La Familia
Year: 2000

This was the song that really jumped off the Pharrell era. Classic Neptunes beat, typical great Hov flow and Pharrell singing his trademark falsetto hook..."I'm a hustla baby, I just want you to know"

63. B.G. ft. Cash Money Millionaires - Bling Bling
Album: Chopper City in the Ghetto
Year: 1999

Harold has been wanting to know where the Cash Money jams were, and this song is the beginning of them. Bling Bling is the absolute EPITOME of the Cash Money era...a song about jewels and bangin' broads. Nobody ever really thought that Cash Money were great rappers, I just love them because they know it, don't care, and keep making songs like this.

62. Beastie Boys - Intergalactic
Album: Hello Nasty
Year: 1998

The Beasties might be my favorite rap group of all time, and this is one of their flagship songs on the classic Hello Nasty disc. What a great video too. Futuristic beat with robot on the hook is great in my book.

"If you wanna battle you're in denial
Comin' from Uranus to check my style
Go ahead with my rhymes I'll trial
Cast you off into exhile"

61. Joe Budden - Pump It Up
Album: Joe Budden
Year: 2003

You could put Bizarre from D12 on this beat and it would be a hit. Just Blaze brings major heat on this one, and Joe Budden is just good enough to hit this one out of the park.

NEXT UP WEDNESDAY # 60-51

#80-71

80. Cocoa Brovas ft. Mr. Cheeks - Super Cocoa Brovas
Album: Game Over Compilation
Year: 2000

Oh boy. You gotta love this song. I remember the first time I heard it on Power 102 (RIP) and it was one of those songs where you wanted to rush right home and find out what the hell it was. These dudes took a sample from the most famous video game of all time and turned it into a blazing song.

79. 50 Cent - Wanksta
Album: Get Rich Or Die Trying
Year: 2002

Not much to really say about this song. This was 50's coming out party. Classic hook, great braggadocio rhymes.

"Damn homey, in high school you was the man homey"

78. Eminem - The Way I Am
Album: The Marshall Mathers LP
Year: 2000

I'm not a huge Em fan. I think he's had some great songs, but a bunch of them are the EXACT same song (see My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me, Just Lose It.) I do think that Eminem is one of the all-time greats, but none of his songs really stick out for me, except this one. This song is what Shady does best: angry rhymes over a dark beat. Fantastic flow as well.

77. Big Boi ft. Sleepy Brown - The Way You Move
Album: Speakerboxxx
Year: 2003

This jam is the epitome of a song that is carried by its hook. A simple beat, Big Boi flows along nicely, then here comes that hook belted out by the always-smooth Sleepy Brown.

76. Dr. Dre ft. Hittman, Kurupt, Nate Dogg & Six-Two - XXplosive
Album: 2001
Year: 1999

The return of Dr. Dre. 2001 was a great album despite the fact that the title was off by 2 years of its release date. Fantastic beat that carries some foul mouthed raps. Really, I just love this song because it reminds me of Rock Appiakorang.

75. DMX - What's My Name
Album: And Then There Was X
Year: 1999

DMX is one of my favorites, especially this song. This is just a classic street anthem. I listen to this one when I am working on the mainframe and I can run a mile in like 3:34.

74. Jay-Z ft. Missy Elliot, Twista - Is That Yo Bitch
Album: Vol. 3...Lfe And Times Of S. Carter
Year: 1999

This song has it all: unbelievable Timbaland beat, memorable Missy hook, Jigga showing that he is the King of Flow and to top it off, the introduction of Twista to the world. The first time I heard Twista rip this song, I'm pretty my brain exploded.

"When I come in the party with J we gonna do it to death
You gon' ruin your rep
Trippin' while we pimpin' these hefers
Playa lectures got me shining like a new Gator stepper"

73. Big Pun ft. Noreaga - You Came Up
Album: Capital Punishment
Year: 1999

A classic that most people haven't heard before. A nice, smoothed out beat that Pun just rips.

72. Jurassic 5 ft. Nelly Furtado - Thin Line
Album: Power In Numbers
Year: 2002

One of my all-time favorite albums. Another one of those songs that I instantly fell in love with. A weird beat with a great hook from Nelly Furtado. I different kind of song from J5, but I love it.

71. Trick Daddy ft. Slip-N-Slide Express - Take It To The House
Album: Thugs Are Us
Year: 2001

Trick Daddy is one of the most amazing guys in the rap game. Totally average skills but somehow, someway he keeps cranking out these HUGE hits. What a great video too, although it was sort of a rip off of "Make Em Say Ugh."

NEXT UP MONDAY #70-61

Please leave comments to let me know what you think of these.

#90-81

90. The Lox ft. Eve, Timbaland - Ryde Or Die Bitch
Album: We Are The Streets
Year: 2000

I don't really like The Lox. I think Jadakiss is a fat, overrated rapper, Sheek Louch and Styles P blow. BUT, put them with a bangin' Timbaland beat, a catchy hook and make sure they flow JUST well enough, and gosh darn you've got one of my favorite songs.

89. Big Boi ft. Killer Mike, Jay-Z - Flip Flop Rock
Album: Speakerboxxx
Year: 2003

A lot of you have probably never heard this song unless you picked up the Outkast double disc a few years back, and if you haven'tm you truly are missing out. Before I even heard this jam, when I saw that it had Big Boi and Jigga on it, you knew it was going be a classic. Throw Killer Mike's rapid fire flow, and you've got a winner. Listen to it just to hear Hov's nasty verse.

88. Wu-Tang Clan - Gravel Pit
Album: The W
Year: 2000

Not a huge fan of Wu-Tang together, but I love Meth, Ghostface, Raekwon, even the occasional ODB garbage. This song is a classic...some of the best flows I have ever heard. Not to mention a sweet video with them rapping on the set of the Flintstones movie.

"Perfect combos, Ghost bang out condos
Jeff from Hamo, ex three bangos
Bancos, stank hoes in plain clothes
Change those, bang those, same old, same old"

87. Freeway ft. Peedi Crakk - Flipside
Album: Philadelphia Freeway
Year: 2003

Freeway's beard is sweet, he looks like a homeless dude. Peedi Crakk, who is this dude? I don't care...you could have Kevin Federline on this Just Blaze burner and it would be hot. Possibly the best Just Blaze beat ever.

86. Notorious B.I.G. ft. Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony
Album: Life After Death
Year: 1997

I love this song because Biggie totally switches it up and raps double-time, and sounds even better than the always-rapid-fire Bone Thugs. A sweet, dark beat fits the theme to the song great, just a classic.

85. Naughty By Nature - Hip Hop Hooray
Album: 19 Naughty III
Year: 1993

Naughty By Nature were one of the great rap groups of the 90s, and this may have been their flagship jam, with the exception of OPP. Treach is one of the most underappreciated rappers of all time in my opinion. Great, simple beat with a hook that will remind you of the old Kool-Aid commercials.

84. Mos Def - Jam On It
Album: Ecko United Presents: Underground Airplay Version 1.0
Year: 2000

One of the great samples, used on a couple of songs. I think Mighty Mos is one of the great rappers of our time. He is just a classic b-boy. The best part of this song is Mos Def battling himself in a sped up voice at the end of the song.

"Well I'm the devastatin' never fakin'
Always keep your body shakin'
Steady rockin' never stoppin'
Keep your body always jockin'
Rock the beat, shock the beat
Till' it's time to stop the beat
Steady moving show improvement
Keep the party keep on groovin'"

83. Three 6 Mafia ft. Lil' Flip - Ridin' Spinners
Album: Da Unbreakables
Year: 2003

Three 6 Mafia has absolutely no shame. They know they aren't good rappers, but they don't care. The pretty much invented crunk music, and have been banging out garbage songs like this one, and I have no shame in saying that I love it. From the trunk rattling beat to the discreet Eazy E sample, this song is a winner.

82. Nelly ft. Diddy, Murphy Lee - Shake Your Tailfeather
Album: Bad Boyz II Soundtrack
Year: 2003

Another one of those Diddy All Star tracks. This song was absolute FIRE the summer of 2003. Nevermind that Diddy and Nelly aren't very good rappers, the flow is solid and the beat is total party time. Murphy Lee's verse is the best BY FAR, with a fantastic allusion to the Cash Money Era, or what I like to call the Golden Age of Humanity.

I'm just a Juvenile
Because I be about G's
Keep your women Weezy man they say they have my Baby's
I'm young like Turk like the Cash and the Money

81. Cam'ron - Get 'Em Girls
Album: Purple Haze
Year: 2004

Killa Cam! I don't really have that much to say about this song...if you want to know more about it, please speak with Harold Sherrell. I will leave you with this stunning line.

"Eight, boom, boom, my ace boon coon
Shake, bake, skate, vroom, vroom
Seventh to eighth, zoom, zoom, boom, boom tune
For I get like that boom, boom room
Wreck 'N Effects, zoom, zoom, meh poon, poon
Since the movie "Cacoon", had my uzi platooned"

Wait, what just happened?

NEXT UP FRIDAY #80-71

#100-91

100. 2pac ft. Outlawz - Hit Em Up
Album: 2pac's Greatest Hits
Year: 1998

One of the greatest dis tracks of all time, this song makes the list because of Pac's pure venom towards Biggie. Listen to the 2 minute rant at the end of the track and tell me you don't want to go murder someone.

99. Fabolous ft. Diddy, Jagged Edge - Trade It All Remix
Album: Street Dreams
Year: 2002

One of those made-for-radio jams, with Fabolous, the king of non-writing and the "it" R&B group at the time. As always, almost anything that Diddy touches turns to gold.

98. Djay - Whoop That Trick
Album: Hustle and Flow Soundtrack
Year: 2005

I know, you are probably thinking that this is some sort of joke. The first time I heard this song, I thought it was too. But damn, if you start listening, Whoop That Trick is better than 99% of the shit that is out there. The definition of a bangin' beat, with a dude who isn't even a rapper sounding better than ANYTHING Dipset has put, minus Cam. If this song doesn't make you excited, you are either dead or Doc after 400 G&t's last weekend.

97. Mystikal - Shake Ya Ass
Album: Let's Get Ready
Year: 2000

Ahh, the rise and fall of Mystikal. This song was the absolute apex of the former No Limit soldier. Look at him: starts out as the crazy guy in No Limit, leaves them and hooks up with Pharrell and blows right up, then has sex with an underager and ends up in the clink. Just a silly ass shaking (pun intended) song that people will never forget.

96. Nick Cannon ft. R. Kelly - Gigolo
Album: Nick Cannon
Year: 2003

I don't even really know why I like this song so much. It defies all logic. Nick Cannon is not a rapper, but he does have a nice flow on this song, the beat is solid and R. Kelly's Doo Doo Butter hook is above average. Again, I understand if you hate this song, but I for some reason have always loved it.

95. Ying Yang Twins ft. Lil' Jon - Salt Shaker
Album: Me & My Brother
Year: 2004

I think that the Ying Yang Twins are terrible rappers. They are such a joke. But, you gotta admit they make some damn good club bangers. It doesn't matter what song it is, I'll give you the formula: Terrible lyrics about wathing girls shake their asses + Lil' Jon beat = Bonafide Hit.

94. Shyne ft. Barrington Levy - Bad Boy Anthem
Album: Shyne
Year: 2000

I love Shyne. People hate on him for sounding like Biggie, but I don't think it's that close. Shyne is friggin solid as a rapper, and he's got a nice flow on a slower beat. He was the beginning of the end of the Bad Boy Dynasty, but I don't think he gets enough credit. That, and he is going to kill Diddy when he gets out jailski.

93. The Game ft. Timbaland - Put You On The Game
Album: The Documentary
Year: 2005

I think the Game is a weird dude, he has a butterfly tat on his face, he was a dude stripper and was on a dating show. I don't care, The Documentary was a fantastic album. This song is everything that is right in the world: sweet Timbo beat, great flow from Game. Game is gonna be around for a long time folks, especially as long as he hooks up with greats like Dre and Timbaland.

92. T.I. - Rubberband Man
Album: Trap Muzik
Year: 2003

T.I., the self-proclaimed King Of The South. Great beat from David Banner on this song, even if it is a little repetitive. It's one of those songs that people know, with a good, memorable hook. Also, I am a rubberband man.

"Grand hustle man mo' hustles than hustle man
But why the rubber band? it representin' the struggle man"

91. Scarface - My Block
Album: The Fix
Year: 2002

Before T.I., there was Scarface. I love this song, it's got one of those cool laid back beats that you just gotta nod your head to. Scarface has one of the all-time best voices in rap as well. Love this song.

NEXT UP: 90-81, WEDNESDAY

About the Hot 100

Sorry about the delay folks, but I have been working on cutting down to 100 from over 5000 songs that I have on my computer. I know, 5000 is waaaay too many, but I've gotten the list down to 375, and will have it down to 100 by the end of the week.

I wanted to go over some of the rules for this list so we all understand what it is about. It is a subjective list, just my opinion. The list isn't what the general public thinks i.e. Number One is, without a doubt, the greatest rap song of all time. The list is dependent on a few factors, such as how bangin' the beat is, how solid the flow is, but most importantly, something called the OSF.

The OSF is the "Oh shit" Factor. You know there are songs that if you hear it on the radio, or at a bar and you aren't expecting that make you just say "oh shit!' Most of these are songs that everyone knows, with a few personal favorites that you may not know. Once the list is completed, all of the songs will be available for download.

Please be patient, it's gonna take me a while to cut it down to 100, then sort it all out as well.
