Weddings can be stressful, but luckily you can finish yours off with a fantastic honeymoon getaway.  Whether you wish to lounge on a beach or do something a little more adventurous, there is a perfect location for you. 1. Curacao

Curacao is a beautiful Caribbean island that is off the coast of Venezuela.  This island was formerly a part of the Netherlands Antilles and this heritage shows in the capital city, Willemstad.  In Curacao you can enjoy all the typical island activities, like snorkeling and fishing, or visit the city for great restaurants and nightlife.

2. French Polynesia

French Polynesia is a country made up of islands whose tropical settings make them considered by many to be the most romantic honeymoon destination.  One of the things it is famous for is its collection of bungalows perched on stilts over the water.  If privacy and seclusion are what you are after, you should consider spending your first days as newlyweds here.

3. Florence, Italy

Italy has long been a favorite destination for those looking for a classic romantic honeymoon.  Florence is steeped in history and culture, as it is considered by many to be the birthplace of the Renaissance.  A trip here could include a visit to Uffizi, one of the oldest museums in the Western World, to see some of the amazing works of art the city offers.  You will also enjoy the great food and company that Italy is famous for.

4. London, England

London is a great place to go for honeymoons.  There are many new hotels and venues that were built for the Olympics.  Now that the Olympics are over you can get great discounts for those rooms, making a London honeymoon more affordable than ever.  Among London’s many attractions are world-class architecture, museums, theaters and shopping.

5. Oahu, Hawaii

Oahu is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the United States. Hawaii combines a beautiful setting with a variety of activities that appeal to nearly everyone.  Days could be spent lounging on the beach or more active couples can pass the time hiking or taking surf lessons.  Another bonus of Oahu is the selection of all-inclusive resorts which can make honeymoon planning a breeze.

6. Riviera Maya, Mexico

Mexico is full of beautiful beaches but that is not all it has to offer.  A trip to Riviera Maya can include incredible experiences away from the sea. Cancun is nearby, but here you can enjoy the same attractions and activities away from the more famous and busy city.  The highlight of a honeymoon here could be a trip to view the ancient Mayan ruins.

7. Santorini, Greece

Another relaxing honeymoon destination is Santorini, Greece.  This island boasts stunning views along with amazing architecture.  If you like wine you will enjoy visiting the wineries on the island.  Other activities include spending time on the black sand beaches and visiting the ancient ruins nearby.

8. Seychelles

Seychelles, located in the Indian Ocean, is also a great choice if you are looking for relaxing beaches.  The white beaches and gorgeous lagoons here make for an incredibly romantic and relaxing vacation.  There are not many activities here compared to some other destinations, but it cannot be beat for relaxing days spent lounging on the beach.

9. Switzerland

For those whose idea of romance is a winter wonderland, Switzerland can be the best place for a honeymoon.  This country is beautiful year-round, but winter is when it becomes really special.  Enjoy your nights relaxing by the fireplace and spend days skiing.  Switzerland also boasts beautiful cities that are considered to be among the most romantic in Europe.

10. Zambia

Zambia is a great place for couples looking for a honeymoon outside of the norm.  There are world class resorts here and activities include visits to Victoria Falls and safaris.  More adventurous couples can stay in remote bush camps and even go bungee jumping.  To enhance an African honeymoon, you can combine your trip to Zambia with a few days on a beach in one of the nearby coastal countries.

Naming a child is one of the biggest decisions parents make.  The reasons for choosing a name vary but, in the United States, biblical names have historically been the most popular baby names year after year.  But recently more and more new baby names have begun to make their way to the top of the popularity lists.

One interesting trend is how many children are given each name.  In 2001 1.57% of baby boys were given the most popular baby name for boys, but by 2011 only 1% received it.  This trend is a sign of the increasing diversity in the U.S. with names being drawn from many cultures.  On the girl’s side in recent years names that are popular in multiple cultures have rapidly shot up the list.

Here is a listing of the most popular baby names in the U.S.for the last ten years, according to the Social Security Administration, along with the number of children given that name.

2001

In 2001 both lists contain many traditional names.  Jacob became the top name in 1999 and has remained there since while Emily had been there since 1996.

2002

There was not much change in the names between 2001 and 2002.  The order switched up a bit while new names, Ethan and Emma, showed up in the top ten.

2003

Emma continued to rise ending up number two in the list of the most popular baby names for girls in 2003.  Olivia was another name quickly gaining in popularity.  In 2001 it was tenth on the list but by this year it was fifth.

2004

William has historically been a very popular name in theU.S.  It had dropped from the list in 2003 but returned this year.  When not in the top ten it is typically close by.

2005

Isabella arrived on the girls’ list in 2004 and moved up to sixth in 2005.  Ava joined the top, coming in at number nine all the way from twenty-fifth the year before.

2006

There were not many changes to the list in 2006.  Ethan continued a slow rise through the top ten and ended up being the fourth most popular baby name for boys, its highest ranking to that point.

2007

Isabella moved Emma from second place for the first time in a couple of years.  It was also only separated from the top spot by a couple hundred babies.

2008

This year Emily was replaced in the girl’s top spot for the first time since 1995.  It was over taken by both Emma and Isabella, neither of which was on the list just a few years before.  A name new to the list in 2008 was Chloe in the tenth position.

2009

The boys’ list showed a lot of consistency, but in 2009 new names started to arrive.  Jayden made it in to the top ten baby names for the first time and Noah also joined the list.  On the girls’ side Mia appeared in tenth place and Isabella took over the top spot for the first time.

2010

Isabella retained the top place for the second year in a row and Sophia moved into second.  Aiden showed up in the boys top ten for the first time after being outside the top 200 in 2001.

2011

This year showed the biggest surprise on the boys’ side with Mason appearing at number two after being outside the top ten the previous years.  Jacob continued to reign at number one but with Mason coming in at a close second it will interesting to see the results when the 2012 numbers come out.  Isabella did not last long as the most popular name and was overtaken by Sophia.

Most people don’t watch television for the commercials (aside from the famous Super Bowl ads perhaps). But every now and then a video ad is so amusing or informative or just downright strange that it goes viral in social media, usually with the help of YouTube.

Let’s take a look at five examples of commercial advertisements that became viral video sensations. While you can also find infomercial demonstrations going viral, these examples are more mainstream. And you’ll notice they share one thing in common — they’re the kinds of ads that make people smile.

Please note that these are just examples, and don’t necessarily represent those with the most views overall. They are in no particular order. If your favorite ad that went viral isn’t included here, we invite you to share them in the comments below.

1. Old Spice Guy

The Old Spice Guy commercials made a big splash in the social media world recently. Their combination of video ads, Twitter interaction with customers, and videos in response to customer questions all play a role in the brand’s viral video success. There have been several Old Spice Guy commercials that have gone viral on YouTube, but here’s my favorite.

2. GEICO Squirrels

Sometimes it seems like squirrels have a death wish given how often they run out in front of cars. Or as GEICO shows us, maybe they have something else in mind….

3. Volkswagen: The Force

This was a previous Super Bowl ad that went viral and had the young actor dressed as Darth Vader all over the news for a while after the game. It’s too cute to miss, even if you’re not a Star Wars fan.

4. Snickers Halloween

This funny Halloween commercial from Snickers is a great example of how even extremely simple concepts and shots can go viral in the Internet Age.

5. Cadbury’s Gorilla

Here’s a cute ad from another candy company — Cadbury — that went viral. Again we have an example of a pretty simple concept, showing that you need to be creative, not complicated, to get people’s attention. This is an older ad from 2007, and if you search YouTube you’ll find quite a few remakes from fans.
