Several years ago I had a website and put a lot of time into it. I had a great design, and hundreds of internal pages. I sold banner advertising and it was ripe for taking off. Then some unforeseen events happened, and it was no more. But the one thing I do remember from that site is that I wanted to allow people to be able to have their own web pages on the site and able to modify them according to their wishes. I just didn't have the technical savvy to pull that off at the time.

Shortly after that a website came out that did what I wanted to do. You may have heard of it, it's called MySpace. I hate those bastards.

Now I doubt if I'll ever come across a billion dollar idea like that again, but I do know that I have several domains right now that I'm not doing anything with. I had a sparkle of an idea when I bought them, but have yet to put them into motion. I have domains for online poker (against them!), Ubuntu, sunglasses, broadcom and linux, and several personal domains I bought just cause I got them for a dollar. Of them all, the Ubuntu one is the one with the most potential. But I have fallen off my Ubuntu wagon, so it's hard to continue with that site.

If I ever just gathered enough motivation to last a week or two I might be able to do something, but until I do I guess I'll just bitch to anyone who will listen.

I can honestly say that I will never ever play poker online again.  Despite what these online poker sites say, they are indeed rigged.  This is true of Pokerstars as well.

I have been keeping track of hand histories and hand histories just don't lie like Pokerstars does.  When you are all in against your opponent pre-flop with QQ to their 99 you are supposed to win 80% of the time.  That is the truth for any pocket pair over another situation.  Yet the real world statistics just don't apply to their online counterparts where your pocket ladies in the above mentioned situation win approximately 57% of the time.

And then there's the crazy events that defy understanding.  One common event that comes to mind is what happened to me yesterday.  I was playing super tight and just so happened to be dealt aces.  Yeah, I'm happy with those cards.  The blinds are 25-50 and with one limper in front of me I bump it up to 250.  So far so good.  Well, the small blind gets squirelly and pushes all in for a grand total of about 2200.  The first limper folds and I gladly call off nearly my entire stack with the best hand.  Cards are then shown and the idiot in the small blind has J2o.  Yes, that's right, jack-deuce offsuit.  I almost started laughing until I saw the flop of 2-2-J.  I think you can see how that hand ended for me.

The jack-deuce incident is not an isolated event, as anyone who is a real live person who has played online poker can attest to.  People going all in over the top of you with ridiculous cards constantly beat out those who were dealt monsters to start with.  If this was just an isolated event, I wouldn't think much of it but it is not.  I don't consider this just a crazy anomaly; I consider this cheating on the part of the host site.

So I guess the moral of this story is to not run with scissors, spit into the wind, and under no circumstances should you ever play online poker.

Without going into too much detail, something very bad happened and the Daddy's World that used to exist no longer exists.  And I'm ok with that.  I wasn't really very interested in keeping up with this site anymore, but now that I can start fresh maybe my interest will perk up a little.

I think maybe I had a few too many irons in the fire, and combining that with how extremely busy I've been at work it didn't leave much left for me.  I decided not to focus so much on writing the really great content you've come to expect (stop snickering) and just write whatever the hell I feel like.  If you thought I was an idiot before wait til you see what happens from now on!

I still have a little more housekeeping to do on this site.  I'm sure I will be arranging things a certain way, decide that I do not like it and change it a time or two until I settle with something.  For someone like me who likes to tinker and build this is a love-hate thing.  If I ever do finish the construction part and deem the job done, then I have nothing more to do.  For someone who loves to build this is not a good thing.

If the building is done, then I tend to look for things to rebuild.  If there is nothing to rebuild, I try new things so I have something to build.  Then I tear down the new construction and rebuild the old.  It's a vicious cycle.
