So it is fun to listen to her talk about the Hhhhhhhhun (sun) or when she asks for Hhhhanichis (sandwichs).

But the best one is after it rains she loves to run to the window and look for the rainBONE in the sky!

Grandmas, grandpas, uncles, aunt, cousins and lots of food. The girls where really excited. Joy wanted to help everybody open there gifts. It took Olivia a while but by the third Christmas party Olivia wanted to open every gift she could. My favorite was to watch them open there big doll house with 30 pieces of furniture. They were kind of tired of opening gifts but we convinced them to open the one wrapped in “Cinderella” wrapping paper. Once they had it opened, that was all they played with for hours.

Next year there will be one more to add to the party. Now we can added some cars, trucks and dart guns to our Christmas list of dolls, jewelry, and all the “sugar and spice”. Joy is getting excited for the baby too. She walks around and rubs her tummy saying “Oh, baby just kicked!” and “My baby is sleeping now.” She gets really exited about it when she says it. I don’t think Olivia gets it yet but I am sure she will be excited when she sees the baby.

The girls are getting excited, first year that Joy got to help wrap gifts. Of course she wanted to wrap a gift for herself, but she is starting to understand a little.

When Jenn told Olivia that the gift was for Joy, Olivia when running down the hall excited to give an unwrapped gift to Joy.

I can’t wait to watch the girls unwrap gifts this year. Each year gets more exciting!

This photo was at my grandma’s house or in Swedish it would be farfarmor. In Swedish far means father and mor means mother. A grandma on my father’s side is farmor and my grandpa on my father’s side is farfar, then a grandma on my mother’s side is mormor and a grandpa on my mother’s side is a morfar.

So following that logic my daughters have a far, a mor, a farfar,a farmor, a morfar, a mormor, a farfarmor, a farmormor, a morfarmor, and a mormorfar. When I was a little boy their I meet their farfarfar, farmorfar, and even their farfarmorfar. There were far more fars and mors farther back in their history but as far as I know those are all the fars and mors I’ve meet . It would be nice to go more often to see all the fars and mors but they live far from here and I have no more time off work to travel so far.

So for now we will have to wait to see them more.

We drove nearly 5000 kilometers and our little girls did great. It was their first long trip and they got to see 23 of their relatives which includes seeing 3 great grandmas for the first time. We also visited a car and airplane museum, a zoo, a train museum and several thousand bails of hay. After many hours of driving in a perfectly straight line, I am happy to be back where the only straight road is in the parking lot of Superstore and you wear out your brakes in a month or two.

I did enjoy seeing the harvesting and old farm houses. The best part though was seeing our grandmas, uncles and aunts again. It was a regular trip when I was a child and this trip brought back many great memories. I am not sure if our kids are old enough to remember this long drive but I took many pictures and they seemed to enjoy it.

Thanks for everyone who let us stay with you.
