Amazon is still the default starting point for most shoppers: massive catalog, fast shipping, and aggressive pricing across everything from budget accessories to premium flagships. Pair it with Prime and you add perks like rapid delivery, bundled services, and frequent lightning deals on tech.

Best Buy shines when you want a mix of online convenience and offline reassurance. You get a strong selection of major brands, regular promos, and the option to pick up in store, test devices hands‑on, or lean on Geek Squad for setup and support.

Newegg is a long‑time favorite for PC builders and component hunters, but its catalog also covers laptops, monitors, peripherals, and smart‑home gear. Detailed specs, user reviews, and frequent flash sales make it ideal if you know exactly what you’re looking for.

eBay is where you go when you want to dig. You’ll find new, used, refurbished, and rare items—from last‑gen GPUs to imported handheld consoles—often at prices you won’t see elsewhere. Just pay close attention to seller ratings, condition notes, and return policies.

Walmart has quietly become a serious player in mainstream tech: phones, TVs, smart home, and accessories are usually priced aggressively, with in‑store returns and pickups keeping things simple. It’s a solid choice for everyday gadgets and big‑box brands.

Bonus: AliExpress – https://www.aliexpress.com
Launched in 2010 by Alibaba, AliExpress is the go‑to marketplace when you’re hunting for innovative or niche gadgets from Chinese brands before they show up elsewhere. It ships to over 190 countries, but expect 4–6 weeks for delivery, and remember that handling customer service, returns, and warranty claims can be more involved than with local retailers.

Welcome to Tech on Turbo, the digital industry’s weekly adrenaline shot. This round, a looming RAM crunch threatens everything from your next phone to your favorite console, social media’s most powerful ad engine gets dissected in court, Apple turns F1 into a cinematic event, and AI quietly rewires how we browse, watch, read, and shoot photos. Let’s break down the moves that will shape your upgrades, media habits, and attention span in 2026.

RAMageddon: The Coming Memory Crunch

Meta’s Ad Machine in the Dock

Big Screens and Smart Screens: F1, Fire TV, and Chrome

AI Everywhere: ChatGPT Ads, Cameras, Phones, and Books

Security, Surveillance, and the Next Wave of Devices

Market, Deals, and What’s Next

RAMageddon: The Coming Memory Crunch

The RAM shortage is coming for everything you care about. “RAMageddon” is how industry insiders now describe a DRAM crunch that’s already lifting prices and threatening to delay or downgrade 2026 phones, laptops, consoles, and even TVs. AI data centers are hoovering up memory at unprecedented scale, and with just a handful of mega‑suppliers controlling the DRAM pipeline, consumer hardware is being deprioritized in favor of high‑margin AI workloads.

The result: OEMs are quietly rethinking their roadmaps. Expect fewer model variants, flat RAM configurations on devices that would normally get a bump, and higher prices on mid‑range and flagship gear as component costs rise. PC makers are already warning of tighter margins and potential product cancellations, and analysts say there’s unlikely to be real relief before 2028, even if demand cools. If you’ve been waiting to upgrade, the harsh advice is simple: either buy soon or be ready to pay more for less memory later.

Meta’s Ad Machine in the Dock

In Los Angeles, a key witness is pulling back the curtain on the social network that turned engagement into a business model. Brian Boland, a former Meta vice president who helped build the company’s ad and monetization systems, is testifying in a high‑profile social media addiction trial about how the platform’s incentives really work.

Boland describes Meta’s recommendation algorithms as “immensely powerful” and “absolutely relentless,” optimized to maximize engagement and time spent on the platform—even when internal concerns were raised about the impact on users, including teens. He says that culture came from the top, with Mark Zuckerberg emphasizing growth and competition, and that safety conversations often lost out to metrics that made the business look strong. Meta’s lawyers counter that Boland left in 2020, wasn’t on youth safety teams, and that algorithms and ads are not inherently harmful—but the optics of an ad‑system architect criticizing the machine he helped build are hard to ignore. Whatever the verdict, this testimony will likely echo in future regulation debates from Washington to Brussels.

Big Screens and Smart Screens: F1, Fire TV, and Chrome

Apple is pushing deeper into live sports—and this time, into cinemas. Apple TV is partnering with IMAX to bring live Formula 1 races to giant screens in the US, starting May 3rd, 2026. Five headline races are on the slate, including Monaco, Miami, and the British Grand Prix, turning select IMAX theaters into full‑blown F1 viewing parties rather than traditional movie showings. It’s a glimpse of a future where streaming sports rights don’t just live on your couch, but also become high‑margin “event cinema” for hardcore fans.

Back home, Fire TV is getting its biggest software refresh in years. Amazon’s new update revamps the interface with faster navigation, a cleaner visual design, and a much more flexible home screen—users can now pin up to 20 apps instead of being limited to a tiny handful. There’s also a new quick‑access panel accessible with a long press of the Home button, plus deeper Alexa+ hooks that promise smarter recommendations and richer real‑time info overlays while you watch.

And for anyone living inside a browser, Google Chrome is finally rolling out official split view. The new feature lets you dock two tabs side‑by‑side in a single window, no flags, no hacks—ideal for research, writing, or comparing dashboards. For power users who’ve been juggling multiple windows or relying on OS‑level split screen, this small tweak could quietly be one of the year’s biggest productivity upgrades.

AI Everywhere: ChatGPT Ads, Cameras, Phones, and Books

AI has moved from buzzy concept to the layer that sits under almost everything—and now, it’s also ad inventory. Ads from brands like Expedia, Qualcomm, Best Buy, and Enterprise Mobility are officially live inside ChatGPT responses, particularly for free and Go‑tier accounts. Promoted answers can appear after your very first prompt, clearly labeled but embedded in the same conversational flow people instinctively trust as “neutral.” It’s the search‑ads playbook all over again, and how users react will shape how quickly AI assistants tilt toward sponsored guidance.

On the hardware front, Google’s Pixel 10a might be the “sneaky” upgrade of the year. The new mid‑range phone gains a brighter display, faster charging, Satellite SOS, and more advanced AI camera processing, while staying in the accessible price band that made the A‑series popular. Google is leaning into its software advantage here: instead of chasing extreme specs in a RAM‑constrained world, it’s making the camera smarter and the phone safer without blowing up costs.

Samsung is taking a more flamboyant route with its latest AI camera tease ahead of Galaxy Unpacked. The company is promising “magical” AI features that can restore missing details, merge multiple images into a single composite, or transform scenes entirely—complete with a viral “infinite cupcakes” demo that shows the camera generating more of what’s in the frame. These tools are powered by Galaxy AI and point toward a future where the line between “photo” and “AI artwork” blurs: the default camera app becomes a full creative studio, and reality is just a starting point.

Even how we read is being re‑engineered. Audible’s new Read & Listen feature syncs ebooks with audiobooks so you can read and listen at the same time, toggling between modes or combining them. Early data suggests users who read and listen consume nearly twice as many books as audio‑only listeners, and Audible is positioning this as a tool for everyone from busy professionals to students and people with dyslexia or ADHD. At launch, it supports hundreds of thousands of titles and multiple languages in the US, with broader international rollout planned.

Security, Surveillance, and the Next Wave of Devices

While Meta is defending itself in court, another part of its empire is raising old‑school surveillance alarms. Internal communications show that Ring plans to expand its Search Party feature—originally pitched for finding lost pets and belongings—into wider use cases that could effectively turn neighborhood camera networks into ad‑hoc search grids. Privacy advocates warn this risks normalizing mass residential surveillance and may pressure users into sharing footage in ways they didn’t anticipate when they first installed their doorbells and floodlight cams.

Beyond that, the week’s “additional highlights” sketch a familiar pattern: AI and connectivity seeping into every device category. Meta is reportedly reviving plans for a smartwatch with built‑in AI and health tracking, aiming to compete more directly with Apple Watch and Wear OS devices. Apple’s upcoming iOS 26.4 update is expected to let third‑party AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini plug into CarPlay, meaning your in‑car voice assistant could soon be whoever you prefer—not just Siri. iPhone 17 Pro Max is already topping trade‑in charts only months after launch, underscoring how strongly Apple still dominates the premium segment.

On the Android side, Google’s Snapseed now includes a camera mode with manual controls and film‑style emulations, nudging creatives to stay inside Google’s ecosystem from capture to edit. Nvidia and OpenAI are reportedly nearing a $30 billion equity deal, deepening the lock between GPU supply and frontier AI model development. NASA has published a critical report on Boeing Starliner issues and suspended crewed flights while fixes are underway, reminding everyone that in space, “move fast and break things” is not an option. Meanwhile, Barnes & Noble is pushing a new Nook Reading Tablet 8.7 with Android 15, Kensington is discontinuing its TB800 EQ trackball over tracking problems, Rivian is rolling out an Apple Watch app for remote vehicle control, and YouTube is testing conversational AI on smart TVs so you can talk your way to something to watch instead of endlessly scrolling.

Market, Deals, and What’s Next

So where does all this leave the market? RAMageddon suggests hardware makers will fight over finite memory, pushing them toward tighter lineups and more aggressive use of AI to differentiate under constrained specs. Platforms, from ChatGPT to Fire TV, are doubling down on advertising, recommendations, and AI‑powered interfaces as they chase engagement and higher ARPU. Media and sports rights continue to fragment into premium “experiences,” whether that’s F1 in IMAX or audiobook‑ebook hybrids that squeeze more time out of your day.

The throughline: 2026 won’t be defined by one big product, but by invisible infrastructure shifts—memory pipelines, recommendation algorithms, and AI assistants—that subtly change how every device around you behaves. Upgrades will still happen, but they’ll be constrained, more expensive, and more opinionated. In other words, tech really is on turbo—just not always in the direction you expect.

For over a decade, the battle in smartphone gaming has revolved around one simple but unsolved problem: power creates heat, and heat destroys performance. Every generation of high-end chips promised to fix it, every vapor chamber claimed to end it, and every fan system swore to defy physics. None did—until now. The REDMAGIC 11 Pro, launching worldwide today, finally makes good on that impossible promise.
For once, this is not PR hyperbole or a fancy new buzzword. The 11 Pro is a device that doesn’t just run fast—it keeps running fast indefinitely. It’s the first truly water- and air-cooled smartphone, capable of holding peak frame rates without crumbling under thermal stress. What we’re witnessing isn’t just an evolutionary upgrade; it’s a genuine turning point for mobile performance hardware.

A Brand That Doesn’t Play by the Rules

Ask any tech follower about REDMAGIC, and you’ll probably hear the same description: “those crazy phones with fans.” It’s not wrong. Born out of Nubia Technology in 2018, the company quickly set itself apart from the polished minimalism of Apple and Samsung. Instead of chasing thinner designs or higher camera counts, REDMAGIC spent its energy building what were essentially pocket PCs. The 11 Pro feels like the culmination of that philosophy—an unapologetic, over-engineered powerhouse that exists for gamers first, everyone else second.

From the earliest models, REDMAGIC’s identity has been borderline rebellious. While others covered their phones in glass, the company cut vents. While competitors obsessed over portrait photography, REDMAGIC bolted in RGB lighting. Over the years, these experiments have matured into something uniquely functional. This time, the madness yields measurable science. The firm’s deep investment in fluid dynamics—yes, fluid dynamics—has given the 11 Pro an ability no other phone possesses: active, circulating liquid cooling inside a sealed chassis. That single concept transforms the entire performance equation.

A Design That Feels Less Like a Phone and More Like Hardware

Before you even power it on, the REDMAGIC 11 Pro looks like something assembled in a high-tech lab. The transparent “Nightfreeze” version exposes a faint pulse of moving coolant under its back glass, lit by a controlled ice-blue glow that traces between metallic ridges. Where most phones hide their components, this one declares them proudly. Even the 24,000 RPM fan—the fastest in the industry—is visible, spinning silently thanks to waterproof bearings.

At 163.8 × 76.5 × 8.9 mm and 230 grams, it should feel bulky, but the dense symmetry offsets the size. The aluminum mid-frame carries both premium solidity and shock protection, while the completely flat back eliminates the usual camera hump. The aesthetic is almost philosophical: function as form.

That decision wasn’t aesthetic indulgence; it was necessity. Positioning a full vapor chamber, a piezo micro-pump, and multiple cooling conduits inside a phone required an entirely new layout of the motherboard. REDMAGIC engineers refer to it internally as the “Aqua Loop,” and though it sounds like a sci-fi gadget, it works astonishingly well in practice. The phone never exceeds warm-to-touch temperatures, even during its most brutal load cycles.

Display: Maxed-Out Immersion in Motion

Gaming lives and dies by what you can see and how fast you can react, and the REDMAGIC 11 Pro’s display might be one of the few that can keep up with reflex-driven inputs. The 6.85-inch BOE X10 AMOLED display pushes 2688 × 1216 pixels with a blazing-fast 144 Hz refresh rate and 3,000 Hz instant touch-sampling.

During testing, REDMAGIC’s new Synaptics 3910v controller kept tap latency around 2.8 ms, nearly half that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s the difference between tapping and hitting. The panel peaks at 1,800 nits outdoors, making it nearly as bright as an iPhone 15 Pro Max while consuming 10 percent less power.
There’s no notch, no hole-punch, no symmetrical distraction—just an uninterrupted slab of screen that fully hides the under-display 16 MP camera. Combined with TÜV flicker-free certification and hardware-level blue-light filtering, it’s comfortable for marathon play sessions. Even prolonged HDR sequences never provoke the flicker fatigue common to gaming OLEDs.

After a week of use, the bigger revelation isn’t the numbers; it’s how consistently the phone feels locked to your input. Whether sliding through PUBG Mobile weapon inventory or aiming in Arena Breakout, the response feels analog, not digital. It’s the kind of feedback usually reserved for mechanical devices.

Hardware and Benchmarks: Sustained Power Unseen Before

If you glance at the specs, you’ll think you’ve heard this story before: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, LPDDR5T RAM up to 24 GB, UFS 4.1 storage to a terabyte. But what RedMagic achieves with these pieces is on another level.
On Geekbench 6, the 11 Pro averaged around 3,680 (single-core) and 11,500 (multi-core), while AnTuTu runs found scores above 4.3 million, a figure almost identical to Qualcomm’s own reference device. On paper, it’s expected. In practice, it’s shocking how stable it remains across repeated tests.
On a 120-minute loop, thermal variance between the first and final runs sat at just 1.1%, while the average CPU frequency held 96% of its boost clock. The previous generation fell to 83%. The difference comes down to REDMAGIC’s bespoke Red Core R4 chip, a companion processor that monitors thermals and redistributes power on the fly.
Combine that with the new Energy Cube 3.0 software stack, and you get unprecedented frame-rate discipline. The system predicts spikes an average of 35 milliseconds in advance and diverts load to cooler cores or GPU segments before you ever see a frame drop.

A New Definition of “Cooling System”

REDMAGIC calls it the AquaCore Cooling System, but that undersells it. Inside the phone runs a fully self-contained fluid circuit: a fluorinated, non-conductive coolant loops from a heat-collection baseplate near the SoC to a thin vapor chamber and back again via piezoelectric micropump. The micro-pipes are laser-cut and bonded with low-temperature epoxy to survive drops and bends.

The liquid itself remains stable from 40 °C to 70 °C, so even mountain cold or desert heat won’t halt flow. A new layer of Liquid Metal 3.0 pads the CPU to boost thermal conductivity by 15% over copper. Additional airflow comes from the 24,000 RPM centrifugal turbofan, which draws air through micro vents and exhausts it without breaking the device’s IPX8 seal.

In layman’s terms: it’s a tiny water-cooled and air-boosted engine inside a smartphone. Lab data backs the hype. After two hours of Genshin Impact at max detail and 60 FPS, the 11 Pro held GPU temperatures at 62.3 °C, compared to the 10 S Pro’s 75 °C—a whopping drop of more than 12 degrees. Back plate readings averaged 36–40 °C, and the battery stayed below 43 °C.

Even under Star Rail at maximum settings and constant stream recording, the phone’s internal sensors never crossed 68 °C. Frame-rate variance in the same test remained below 0.6 FPS, while power draw hovered at 6.9 W. To put that in context, most Android flagships throttle within 20 minutes under that heat load. The 11 Pro did not flinch in two hours.

Surface temperature caps at 57.5 °C externally only under sustained extreme synthetic testing, a level safe enough to grip yet showing the hardware’s upper headroom.

The World’s First Waterproof Fan System

If one feature of the REDMAGIC 11 Pro deserves its own headline, it’s that this is the first smartphone in history to combine active cooling with complete waterproofing. Every previous attempt at internal fans required cutouts or mesh gaps for airflow; water-resistance standards made that design a contradiction. Somehow, REDMAGIC’s engineers found a way around it.

The phone achieves an official IPX8 rating, meaning full submersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes—unheard-of for a device containing physical spinning components. The breakthrough lies in a newly developed sealed air circulation channel. Instead of venting directly outside, the 24,000 RPM turbofan circulates heat within a closed internal chamber, pushing air through graphite fins and liquid conduits before returning it to the vapor chamber.

That internal “breathing loop” allows the cooling system to operate without any open air intake. Air moves, heat leaves, but moisture never enters. The fan’s bearings use a special fluorinated lubricant and magnetic levitation design so that, even at full RPM, the assembly remains isolated from condensation.
During testing, the phone was submerged in a water tank while rendering a 3DMark loop at 15 W load. Not only did it survive the dunking without fault, performance graphs stayed flat—no internal leakage, no electrical disruption, and critically, no sound distortion from trapped fluid. Once removed and towel-dried, the fan resumed spinning as if nothing had happened.

This combination of mechanical cooling and waterproof sealing is unprecedented. Some gaming phones offer splash resistance, but none can claim the durability proof recorded here. In practical terms, it means players who stream from wet environments—outdoor sports, rainy days, humid events—can use the 11 Pro safely. Even accidental coffee spills or cleaning with a damp cloth become non-issues.

It also hints at a new design maturity for REDMAGIC. What once felt like experimental engineering now appears refined, almost overdesigned to last. Between the liquid-metal interface, the fluorinated coolant loop, and this sealed internal fan system, the 11 Pro becomes something more than a gaming novelty: it’s a genuine ruggedized piece of advanced hardware disguised as a phone.

Real-World Gaming: Numbers Meet Feeling

Performance data can only tell half the story; the other half comes from visceral experience. Launching into PUBG Mobile, the 11 Pro snaps to 120 FPS without a hint of delay. Frame drops? None visible. Controller latency measured 12 ms, equivalent to wired gamepads on a console.
In Honkai: Star Rail, a title infamous for melting devices, temperatures average 48.5 °C, and battery temperatures sit a remarkably low 31.5 °C in a 30 °C room. Even after an hour, the back panel feels barely warm. You almost doubt the numbers until you touch it.

Games like Wuthering Waves and Arena Breakout showcase the benefits of REDMAGIC’s collaboration with game developers to optimize Vulkan APIs. The result is higher render efficiency, roughly 40% better per watt than previous models. During tests, the device sustained 90 FPS with no visible judder or ghosting. Even 3DMark’s Wild Life Stress Test—a benchmark that brings most phones to their knees—kept result stability above 99%.

It’s the first mobile gaming device where you can push everything to max and never feel forced to dial back. No “high performance mode” toggles or warnings. It just stays there—cool, steady, and endlessly reliable.

Audio, Controls, and the Subtleties of Immersion

Audio and haptics often feel like afterthoughts on gaming phones. The 11 Pro reverses that balance. Its dual 1115 series speakers produce spatial depth and resonance far beyond previous models, delivering a measured 84 dB at half volume and maintaining clarity up to maximum. With the fan running, sound level rises by only 2.5 dB, and the blades operate mostly below 2 kHz—frequencies the human ear is least sensitive to.

The physical shoulder triggers, now rated at 520 Hz touch refresh, are larger and flatter with distinct feedback zones. This time you can map two functions per key, allowing simultaneous ADS and fire control in shooters. Vibration feedback through the expanded 0815 x-axis motor is tight and clean, creating localized impact based on game events—a small but noticeable layer of immersion.
Voice commands can toggle performance modes hands-free through the improved Game Space 11 dashboard. The entire control system feels built for professionals rather than casual players.

Battery Life: Big Cell, Smarter Management

Power is nothing without stamina, and the REDMAGIC 11 Pro delivers it in bulk. Its 7,500 mAh dual-cell battery outlasts almost every gaming competitor. In tests, continuous Genshin Impact play at 60 FPS sustained for 7.4 hours straight before hitting 10% battery. Streaming 1080p YouTube at maximum brightness lasted 12.5 hours. During mixed use—social media, video, games, calls—it comfortably endures two days.

More importantly, charging is cool and quick. The phone supports 80 W wired and wireless fast charging, with bypass charging available for gaming while plugged in. That feature routes power directly to the system board, bypassing the battery entirely to avoid heat build-up—a lifesaver for competitive sessions.
Average charge time to 100% is about 40 minutes via cable and 68 minutes wirelessly. Thermal rise stays below 6 °C when charging while playing, versus nearly 15 °C on typical flagships. You can feel the difference immediately: your hands never sweat around the port.

Cameras: Decent Optics in a Gamer’s Body

Cameras remain REDMAGIC’s secondary focus, but they get serious upgrades nonetheless. The dual 50 MP setup (standard and ultrawide) delivers plenty of detail, with an average dynamic range of 12.1 EV stops and better edge-correction than older models. The 2 MP auxiliary sensor remains basic but serves macro functions adequately. AI-driven noise control reduces color grain in low-light by over 20% compared to the 10 S Pro+.

Video performance tops out at 8 K 30 FPS or 4 K 120 FPS, the latter being surprisingly stable for a gaming-centric device. The front camera is a 16 MP under-display unit: soft on detail but stealthy in presentation—fine for stream overlays or calls. If you expect flagship-grade photography, look elsewhere, but for most users, this setup is perfectly functional.

Software: AI Companions and Smarter Game Control

Running REDMAGIC OS 11 on top of Android 16, the 11 Pro finally finds a balance between performance and polish. Game Space, the brand’s in-game hub, has become cleaner and more intuitive. Through quick swipes, you can adjust fan speed, toggle refresh rates, or record sessions. You also get temperature and power readouts in real time, making the device feel like a piece of instrumentation rather than a phone.
An optional AI Performance Coach uses Red Core’s telemetry to suggest optimal settings per game. In supported titles like PUBG Mobile and MLBB, the coach can recommend aim sensitivity or battery-saving profiles. Elsewhere, the MORA voice assistant adds a humanized layer—she’ll announce CPU temps or FPS drops mid-match. It sounds gimmicky, but it’s surprisingly useful when you’re under fire and need quick data.

Beyond gaming, MORA acts as a digital companion, answering queries through integration with Google Gemini. You can ask it to translate chats or summon performance graphs. The voice has a slightly robotic accent but rarely mishears.
REDMAGIC promises three major Android updates and five years of security patches—a welcome sign for a brand once loosely committed to long-term support.

Connectivity and Secondary Features

Everything expected of a 2025 flagship is here: 5G dual modems, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack for zero-latency audio. Dual GPS (L1 + L5) offers sub-meter precision. There’s even DisplayPort-over-USB output for connecting to monitors at 120 Hz, with mouse and keyboard support through the Host Mode. It essentially turns the 11 Pro into a mini desktop PC for cloud gaming or productivity.

Durability impresses as well. The phone passed REDMAGIC’s internal series of drop tests without cracking—an achievement given its see-through aesthetic. Corning Gorilla Glass and an anti-puncture membrane now protect both front and rear panels. Despite its precision engineering, it feels ready for real-world abuse, not just showcases.

The Launch and What It Means

The REDMAGIC 11 Pro will reach international markets on November 3, rolling out simultaneously through redmagic.gg and authorized regional partners. The pricing will start from $699, aligning pretty much with previous models. That figure undercuts nearly every flagship with comparable hardware.
Availability will span North America, Europe, the UK, and the Asia-Pacific region shortly after launch. For a brand once considered a niche import, that’s a quiet but significant win—the moment REDMAGIC steps out of the shadow of “tech for enthusiasts” and into the mainstream conversation about raw innovation.

Final Verdict: Momentum That Outruns Its Limits

Holding the REDMAGIC 11 Pro after a week of intensive testing is like holding proof that the laws of physics can bend, at least a little, with enough ingenuity. There’s no question this phone is built for a very specific audience—people who care about frames per second the way others care about camera bokeh. But by solving a thermal problem that has haunted mobile devices for years, REDMAGIC has done something that benefits everyone. Every future chip, every next-gen smartphone that runs cooler or charges faster, will owe something to the lessons learned here.

We often say innovation comes at the edges of reason. The 11 Pro lives there—half engineering lab, half art. It’s loud, visible, and somewhat ridiculous, yet it’s also the most consistently powerful and thermally disciplined smartphone on the market. Frames don’t drop, power doesn’t spike, and temperatures stay civilized. If you’ve ever watched your phone throttle mid-boss fight or dim its screen from overheating, this device feels like revenge on physics itself.

No one else is doing what REDMAGIC is doing right now. When the 11 Pro officially lands on November 3, it won’t just be another gaming flagship. It will stand as the first production phone to merge true liquid cooling and sealed waterproofing without compromise—a first stab at a wholly new category of mobile engineering.
For players, content creators, and those who simply appreciate the audacity of innovation, the REDMAGIC 11 Pro is not only the most distinctive phone of 2025—it’s one of the most important. Because long after other brands catch up on features, this one will be remembered for something rarer: it actually kept its cool.

Welcome to Tech on Turbo. October 2025 has roared with announcements that rewire the worlds of mobility, artificial intelligence, immersive computing, and digital infrastructure. From Rivian’s shapeshifting e-bike and OpenAI’s bold new browser to Samsung’s next-gen mixed-reality headset, industry momentum is accelerating toward a more intelligent, connected, and automated world. Yet behind the sleek launches lie profound questions about sustainability, surveillance, and the boundaries between helpful and harmful technology.

Rivian’s $4,500 Electric Bike: Luxury on Two Wheels

Rivian’s spinoff Also has unveiled the TM-B, an all-terrain, modular electric bike designed for the high-end commuter—and it’s turning heads. With a virtual pedal system, 100-mile range, and regenerative braking, the TM-B blends craftsmanship with cutting-edge software. The $4,500 tag, however, positions it more as a design statement than everyday transportation. Critics call it a halo product for the Rivian brand—symbolic of innovation rather than accessibility—but its programmable drivetrain hints at how the company could fuse automotive DNA with sustainable micromobility in future models.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT Atlas: Browsing Rewritten

OpenAI’s new “ChatGPT Atlas” browser represents a paradigm shift in human–computer interaction. It’s not just a search tool—it’s an autonomous assistant capable of reading, summarizing, and executing tasks through natural language. Atlas merges GPT-5 with contextual web navigation, allowing users to request “find best laptops for travel” and watch an agent research, filter, and present results in seconds. It’s the clearest step yet toward AI agents that blur the line between browsing and delegation. Reviewers call it transformative yet polarizing, noting trade-offs in privacy and the psychological shift of letting “machines browse for you.”

Samsung’s Galaxy XR: Mainstream Mixed Reality Arrives

The Galaxy XR headset, co-developed by Samsung and Google, offers a compelling vision of immersive computing at half the cost of Apple’s Vision Pro. Running Android XR with native Gemini AI features, the $1,799 device projects the digital world seamlessly onto reality—integrating video calls, 3D maps, and live AI assistance. Real-time facial and hand tracking enhance realism, while micro-OLED displays deliver crystalline visuals. Limited availability and short battery life, however, keep adoption constrained. Still, the Galaxy XR symbolizes a democratization of extended reality—making premium immersion less of a luxury, more of a lifestyle evolution.

AI: Ambition Meets Exhaustion

Artificial intelligence continues to outpace oversight. Elon Musk’s comments on Tesla’s robot “army” underscore Silicon Valley’s obsession with autonomy—robots envisioned to perform surgery, not just factory work. Simultaneously, research warning that AI models suffer “brain rot” from low-quality online data evokes eerie parallels with human burnout. Nvidia’s plans for space-based AI servers—deploying H100 GPUs off-planet to conserve Earth’s energy—are both visionary and ominous, hinting at a future where innovation leaves the planet behind. As Big Tech refines intelligence, it risks creating systems that reflect our cognitive clutter more than our creativity.

Mobility and Infrastructure: The Connected Car Clash

General Motors’ decision to eliminate CarPlay and Android Auto from all vehicles redefines the car as an independent computing environment, wholly within manufacturer control. It’s a bold—but controversial—move against the smartphone ecosystem, prioritizing data capture and branded UX over interoperability. The same theme echoes in Tesla’s and Cadillac’s advances: affordable EVs for mass markets and Level 3 “eyes-off” highway cruising by 2028. Meanwhile, Amazon Web Services’ massive outage exposed the fragility of centralization—proving that even the industrial cloud is not immune to systemwide failure. Modern life is only as strong as its weakest data node.

Security and Privacy: New Frontiers in Trust

October brought unsettling reminders that technology’s conveniences carry psychological and societal costs. At Google’s Manhattan campus, a bedbug infestation forced staff from offices—a reminder that even digital empires face very analog vulnerabilities. Online, users filed FTC complaints over “AI-induced psychosis,” with reports of mental strain linked to prolonged chatbot interactions. These episodes reflect a new class of user risk—emotional disruption embedded in algorithmic engagement. For platform architects, safeguarding mental health may soon become as pivotal as data security itself.

Wearables and Workplace Innovation: Glass and Thread

From Amazon’s driver glasses to YKK’s tape-free zippers, innovation is reaching the most tactile layers of daily life. Amazon’s prototype eyewear enables drivers to view navigation cues, scan packages, and receive route updates—an invisible UX stitched into routine labor. Meanwhile, YKK’s zipper redesign eliminates a century-old component—a subtle yet symbolic sign of how even the quietest technologies are being reexamined. Together, these stories show reinvention happening not just in code, but in the material world that technology inhabits.

The Business Pulse: Layoffs, Robots, and Reinvention

The automation wave is cresting again. Meta’s layoff of 600 AI researchers coincides with reports of Amazon planning to replace 600,000 workers with robotic systems. The shift signals a maturing (and sobering) phase of AI industrialization—efficiency prioritized over empathy. As cloud and robotics drive cost optimization, the corporate narrative of “innovation equals job growth” begins to fray. Wall Street cheers, but policymakers brace for a wave of displacement that could dwarf previous automation eras.

Gaming and Media: Economics of Nostalgia

In entertainment, Microsoft’s steep rise in Xbox developer kit pricing has sparked outrage among indie creators struggling to stay afloat. Reviews for Plants vs. Zombies Replanted confirm what fans feared: a remake that feels like regression. The industry’s challenge mirrors the wider tech dilemma—innovation thrives on reinvention, not repetition. Gaming is now less about polygons and frame rates, more about cultural value and creative permission in an algorithm-driven economy.

Science and Earth: From Skyfall to Slow Burn

A strange collision above Utah—where a United Airlines jet was hit by an unidentified space object—capped a month defined by curiosity and caution. While investigators probe origins, environmental researchers report real, if modest, progress on climate mitigation. The message: solutions are working, but too slowly. Innovation, like the planet itself, can’t afford to dawdle.

2025’s autumn has defined a turning point. We’re living in an economy of acceleration—each innovation chasing the next, each breakthrough shadowed by cultural fatigue. Rivian’s TM-B, OpenAI’s Atlas, and Samsung’s XR headset all point to a single truth: intelligence is the new interface, and human experience its testbed. Yet for every triumph, there’s tension—ethical, environmental, emotional. The future is arriving faster than ever; the question is whether we’re ready to keep up.

As the digital world pushes toward a frictionless tomorrow, the bet is clear: we can’t slow the machines—but we can steer them. The road ahead is bright, turbulent, and unmistakably human.

In this roundup, landmark deals reshape the gaming world, new devices and AI features promise more customization and global tech faces fresh scrutiny on privacy, infrastructure, and the digital workplace. Let’s break down the news that’s moving markets and minds.

EA’s Record Buyout, Meta Bets on Robotics

Electronic Arts (EA), home of FIFA, Battlefield, and The Sims, is reportedly on the brink of a $50 billion private buyout—one of the largest ever for a public gaming company. Silver Lake, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and Jared Kushner’s Affinity Partners are said to be leading the bid, stoking fresh debate about sovereign wealth in entertainment, the future of gaming franchises, and what private equity can do for a publisher’s creative pipeline. The deal would instantly make headlines as gaming’s biggest-ever M&A move, rivaling Microsoft’s $69B Activision Blizzard purchase and reflecting the industry’s vast new power base.

Meanwhile, Meta has announced a new ambition to become the “Android of robotics”—launching a dedicated unit helmed by ex-Cruise CEO Marc Whitten. With plans to set benchmarks in both robot software and hardware platforms, Meta hopes to control standards for consumer and enterprise bots, aiming for open ecosystems much like Google’s Android in smartphones. Amid fierce competition from Amazon, Tesla, and Boston Dynamics, the stakes are high for platform leadership in robotics.

Apple, meanwhile, scored a regulatory win as the US Labor Board dismissed claims CEO Tim Cook had infringed on rights in 2021 worker communications—a legal cloud that lingered around union discussions and internal disputes.

iPhone 17 Redefines Mobile, Hardware Wars Intensify

Reviews for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are glowing, with critics applauding the “impactful redesign,” power efficiency, and class-leading camera arrays. The new A19 chip delivers best-in-class performance, battery life rivals MacBook Airs, and ProMotion displays bring luxury viewing to Apple’s mainstream. Together with iOS 26, the phones further “Apple Intelligence” ambitions with more privacy and customization built-in.

Console hybrid fans got sticker shock as Microsoft and Asus revealed the ROG Xbox Ally X at $999—higher than both PS5 and Switch 2 combined, redefining the high end of gaming hardware and sparking debate on premium portable gaming.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 now feature Adaptive Audio, touch gesture controls, and Gemini Live integration, bolstering Google’s AI hardware lineup.

Xiaomi’s 17 Series, meanwhile, pushes battery limits and screen innovation with a secondary display, using hardware muscle to tackle Apple head-on in China and Europe.

AI Everywhere: YouTube, Apple, and the Music Revolution

AI continues invading mainstream platforms. YouTube Premium’s new suite offers higher-quality audio and 4x playback speed across platforms; meanwhile, YouTube Music is piloting AI-powered hosts—virtual personalities that add contextual stories and trivia between tracks, blending radio DJ culture with algorithmic taste.

Apple’s internal ChatGPT-style app was reportedly used to test upgrades to Siri, setting the stage for a major Genie-like assistant overhaul by 2026.

In the world of streaming, Spotify is fighting the flood of AI-generated songs with new detection tech, more rigorous licensing, and deeper partnerships with music labels.

Security and Privacy in the Spotlight

Security took center stage as the Pentagon successfully defended its “Chinese Military Company” designation against DJI, a legal setback for the drone giant that will limit business opportunities on US soil.

A massive “SIM farm” operation in New York was also shut down, revealing how vulnerable backbone US infrastructure remains to cellular bypass and SMS-based attacks.

Meanwhile, Jaguar Land Rover suffered a major cyberattack disrupting global supply chains—yet another sign that cybersecurity is now inseparable from industrial resilience.

Leveling Up: Gaming and Industry Trends

Hades 2 returned to headlines with a major update, improving gameplay depth and balancing—reminding everyone why it’s 2025’s premier indie sequel.

In Escape from Tarkov news, developers revealed only 2% of players will likely reach the “true” ending, fueling debate about accessibility and hardcore design.

Classic controller fans got welcome news as Nintendo Switch 2-compatible third-party controllers landed early, ahead of expected holiday demand.

Major global infrastructure stories hit the radar with Europe inaugurating the world’s longest railway tunnel (twenty years in the making), while China’s WEM technology offers a decisive rare-earth extraction advantage for the green device market.

Tesla drew fresh criticism for alerting drowsy drivers to use Full Self-Driving features—reigniting ethical, technical, and regulatory conversations around autonomy.

Market, Deals, and What’s Next

Market shakeups included Amazon’s $2.5B FTC settlement over misleading Prime “dark patterns,” while memecoins and speculative crypto stocks are making their way onto traditional exchanges.

The TikTok deal again dominates D.C. debate under the Trump administration, just as legacy broadcasters struggle to keep up with streaming-first audiences.

Quantum computing is attracting VC interest as an “unlock” potentially bigger than AGI, and AI data centers are now driving record global infrastructure investment. European and Swiss energy-driven splits in industrial output remain a key variable in regional tech economics.

With Prime Day on the horizon, top deals include Anker MagSafe power banks, Shark vacuums, JBL audio, MacBook Air M4, and Apple Watch bundles. Early savings are also poised for Ring, Blink, and gaming accessories from top brands.

Welcome to Tech on Turbo—where innovation goes full throttle. Yesterday’s news saw Meta redefine wearable AR, Apple set fresh smartphone standards, and the sector react to advances in AI, hardware, and security. As leading brands race into a new era of digital transformation, consumer tech finds fresh momentum and new ethical challenges.

Meta’s Ray-Ban Display Glasses Launch Mainstream Augmented Reality

Meta Connect 2025 made headlines as Mark Zuckerberg introduced the $799 Ray-Ban Display Glasses, set to hit stores September 30. These breakthrough glasses project directions, photos, and live translations into your view, enhanced with AI controls and neural wristbands for seamless interaction. Meta’s updated Ray-Ban Gen 2 doubles battery life and refines camera quality, and the Oakley Meta Vanguard promises specialized AR for athletes. Analysts say Meta’s lineup marks its boldest commitment to mainstream AR, fusing Silicon Valley innovation with classic style.

iPhone 17 and Air Series Set New Standards for Mobile

Apple’s iPhone 17 family is earning critical acclaim, with the 17, Pro, and Pro Max models praised for superior battery life—some reviewers predict daily charging is now obsolete. The Pro series touts class-leading camera arrays and advanced display tech, while the iPhone Air combines ultra-slim design with all-day performance. The arrival of iOS 26 adds Apple Intelligence, a “Liquid Glass” interface, new spam call protection, and customizable privacy controls, underscoring Apple’s leadership in both hardware and software.

AI Safety and Ethics Stay in Focus

OpenAI’s new age-prediction system and expanded parental controls for ChatGPT headline a shift to responsible AI access. Microsoft’s AI chief reignited debate by calling machine consciousness an “illusion”—a statement that’s sparked industry-wide discussion about the risks and limitations of rapidly advancing AI. Google’s layoff of 200 Gemini and AI Overview contractors spotlighted friction and ethics in AI’s workforce transformation.

Security, Privacy, and Hardware Roundup

Security stories were also prominent: a DHS data hub breach is under investigation, and WIRED’s guide to burner phones became an instant reference for privacy-conscious users. Google partnered with a UK nonprofit to enhance revenge porn defenses, marking a significant advance in online safety.

In hardware, rumors of touchscreen MacBook Pros signal a shift in Apple’s design philosophy. Logitech’s gaming peripherals and Samsung’s HW-Q990F soundbar garnered rave reviews, setting new benchmarks in performance for gaming and home cinema enthusiasts.

Industry, Deals, and Gaming Highlights

Microsoft and Nvidia are competing to invest in UK AI infrastructure, Tesla announced a redesign for its door handles to address safety concerns, and anticipation builds for Amazon’s September 30 event and early Prime Day deals—with notable savings on AirPods Pro 2, DJI Mic Mini, and Ninja Air Fryers.

Gamers celebrated a confirmed Yakuza Kiwami 3 remake, while Meta unveiled Horizon TV for its VR headsets. Nintendo clarified it had not patented a new Pokémon battle mechanic, quelling social media rumors. Google Discover now integrates social content, and early Pixel 10 hands-on reports praise its triple-camera advances.

Science Innovations Steal the Spotlight

The world’s biggest neutrino detector launched yesterday, promising new insights into fundamental physics. Gene editing is entering a “disease agnostic” era, and genome sequencing breakthroughs are primed to revolutionize pregnancy care in coming years.

As Meta, Apple, and others drive a new wave of digital progress, the speed of innovation is matched only by the challenges of ethics, privacy, and transformative user experience. Tech’s turbo moment is here—keep watching the horizon for the next big leap.

Welcome to Tech in Turbo! Apple’s September event just set off a wave through the tech world, unveiling the iPhone 17 lineup alongside next-gen Apple Watches and AirPods Pro, while the wider industry continues to evolve at breakneck speed—from AI and gaming to electric vehicles, privacy, and global innovation.

Apple’s iPhone 17 and Air Redefine the Smartphone

Google Warns the Open Web Is Shrinking

OpenAI’s $115 Billion Bet on the Future of AI

Why AI Still Hallucinates: A Transparency Push

China’s AI Ambitions Move Beyond NVIDIA

Pixel 10 and Mobile Hardware Updates

Nintendo Scores a Legal Win Over Modding

Lenovo Legion Go 2 Raises the Handheld Bar

Polestar 5, Ford F-150, and Tesla’s Shifting Market

Porsche Unveils MagSafe-Style Wireless Charging for EVs

Meta Faces VR Safety Whistleblower Fallout

Signal Launches Paid Encrypted Backups

Anthropic Settles Major AI Copyright Cas

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Makes a Strong First Impression

OpenAI’s “Critterz” Brings AI to Hollywood Animation

US-EU Tension Rises Over Google Antitrust Penalties

China’s AI Answer to Demographic Decline

Apple’s iPhone 17 and Air Redefine the Smartphone

Apple’s annual keynote wowed fans and investors alike, debuting the ultra-thin, 5.6mm iPhone Air—a device built for style and comfort that nonetheless delivers daylong battery life and competitive performance at $999. The standard iPhone 17 now offers a bright 6.3-inch ProMotion display and “Ceramic Shield 2” for durability, keeping the $799 entry price. The Pro lineup makes a leap in camera capability, boasting three 48MP fusion sensors, ultra-bright 3,000-nit screens, new vapor chamber cooling, Apple’s first all-aluminum chassis, and an A19 Pro chip with more RAM for high-intensity AI features and battery efficiency. The iPhone 17 Pro Max even claims up to 39 hours of video playback and offers a new 2TB storage tier.

On the software front, iOS 26 introduces a striking “Liquid Glass” interface, Apple Intelligence features, live translation, and better battery—and it ships this month to both new and existing devices. The event also brought Apple Watch Series 11 (now with sleep score and hypertension detection), a rugged new Watch Ultra 3, and AirPods Pro 3 with live translation and improved audio. Preorders for all Apple devices open Friday; retail launches September 19.

Preorders are already underway, with shipments from September 19, and Apple keeps its base pricing steady amidst major innovation.

Google Warns the Open Web Is Shrinking

Google has raised red flags about the future of the open web, voicing concern that paywalls, exclusive content, and the explosive proliferation of walled-garden platforms are making it ever harder for ordinary users to discover high-quality, unbiased information. The warning signals a growing fragmentation online—one that threatens the principles of accessibility and free expression that defined the web’s first days, and challenges developers and policymakers to rethink how content is indexed, shared, and accessed.

OpenAI’s $115 Billion Bet on the Future of AI

OpenAI is on an unparalleled spending spree, announcing plans to invest $115 billion through 2029 in R&D, cloud infrastructure, and model expansion. This bold move underscores the start of an AI arms race and signals to rivals worldwide that the scale of future AI advancements will demand not just creativity, but unprecedented resources and ambition.

Why AI Still Hallucinates: A Transparency Push

New research from OpenAI reveals that AI models often “hallucinate” because they’re rarely incentivized to say “I don’t know.” Like students guessing on a test, AIs often fill gaps with confident-sounding errors rather than admit uncertainty—raising new questions about trust, ethics, and the future design of safe large language models.

China’s AI Ambitions Move Beyond NVIDIA

China has announced a major push to develop homegrown AI architectures and chips, deliberately breaking from dependence on Transformer-style models and U.S. hardware titans like NVIDIA. This strategic leap, combined with a huge investment in domestic R&D, could reshape the global balance in AI capability and innovation.

Pixel 10 and Mobile Hardware Updates

Anthropic Settles Major AI Copyright Cas

Anthropic reached a $1.5 billion settlement with authors in a landmark copyright dispute involving AI training data, spotlighting the uneasy relationship between generative models and existing creative works as the field matures.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Makes a Strong First Impression

Initial hands-on reviews of Pokémon Legends: Z-A point to a creative leap for the franchise, with new mechanics, more dynamic battles, and a polished world—suggesting that classic IP can still reinvent itself in the hands of ambitious developers.

OpenAI’s “Critterz” Brings AI to Hollywood Animation

OpenAI’s technology has crossed into filmmaking, powering the first fully AI-animated feature, Critterz. This leap marks a turning point in how generative intelligence can be harnessed for large-scale creative production in Hollywood.

US-EU Tension Rises Over Google Antitrust Penalties

The regulatory cold war between the U.S. and EU escalated as Washington pushed back against Europe’s latest Google antitrust fine, raising the specter of Section 301 trade action and sparking debate over digital sovereignty and the future of global tech policy.

China’s AI Answer to Demographic Decline

Welcome to Tech on Turbo, your trusted source for breakthrough tech industry news on Techtember 3rd! With IFA 2025 set to launch in Berlin September 5–9, our editorial team is flying out to bring you front-row coverage of the world’s biggest consumer electronics event. Let’s dive into today’s tech news, featuring future-shaping updates across artificial intelligence, gaming, mobility, and more.

Google Chrome Survives Antitrust Showdown

In a pivotal antitrust ruling, Google successfully defended its grip on the Chrome browser, dodging demands to break up its core product. The judge’s order, however, tells Google to overhaul practices around default search and exclusive deals with device makers—opening the digital gates for competitors. While Google can now appeal, the case reshapes how big tech must operate in a landscape favoring consumer choice and fair competition.

OpenAI Makes ChatGPT Safer for Families

As concerns about youth safety grow, OpenAI announced new parental controls for ChatGPT. Parents can now connect their accounts to their teens’ and restrict features as needed, setting a new standard in family-friendly AI. This move comes as more platforms face scrutiny over how they handle children’s online interactions—a timely update as AI’s role in households continues to evolve.

Tesla’s Master Plan 4: AI, Robots, and Big Ambitions

Tesla’s latest manifesto details sweeping visions for the future of transportation, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Dubbed “Master Plan 4,” the document hints at a world powered by autonomy and scalable tech, focusing on driverless cars, humanoid robots, and sustainable energy. Analysts say the plan is high on aspiration but light on specifics, a classic Elon Musk play. Yet Tesla’s position at the intersection of AI innovation and mobility remains uncontested—and the industry’s eyes are fixed on what comes next.

Google Pixel 10, Dolby Vision 2, and Gaming Giants Make Waves

Google’s Pixel 10 series continues to draw rave reviews, praised for its “smart in smartphone” AI features and photography upgrades that challenge Apple and Samsung’s best. In entertainment tech, Dolby Vision 2 is raising the bar in home viewing, delivering enhanced HDR and superior picture quality to new and existing TVs. Meanwhile, Hollow Knight: Silksong joins Game Pass, delighting fans and cementing September as a blockbuster for gamers and device shoppers alike.

Amazon Redesigns Prime Shipping for Modern Shoppers

Amazon is pulling plug on its Prime Invitee program, ending shared free shipping between accounts outside the same household. The move tightens membership rules going into peak shopping season and signals a major shift in e-commerce strategy, impacting both user habits and Prime signups. Shoppers are rethinking their subscriptions as Amazon focuses on retention and fulfillment control.

Waymo Robotaxis Hit New Cities—Denver and Seattle

Waymo is accelerating robotaxi expansion, rolling out test fleets in Denver and Seattle using new Zeekr vehicles equipped with sixth-gen hardware. Safety drivers remain for now, but the development marks another leap toward autonomous mobility in American cities. Local regulators and passengers alike are watching for safety, convenience, and the long-awaited reality of driverless rides.

Audi Concept C Signals EV Power and Style

Audi’s Concept C all-electric sports car has stunned the auto world with its style-forward curves and forward-thinking tech. The vehicle previews Audi’s vision for zero-emission luxury, fusing classic design with the latest battery and performance innovation—and revealing how European automakers are staking their ground in next-gen EV competition.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Dominates Game Pass

Hollow Knight: Silksong, the highly anticipated sequel, made its debut on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Critically acclaimed for its design, depth, and playability, Silksong instantly shot to the top of most-played lists—proving indie games are still defining the narrative in gaming’s modern landscape.

Disney Pays Up in Privacy Settlement

Disney will pay $10 million after an FTC investigation found it collected children’s data on YouTube without proper parental consent. The case underscores growing enforcement of COPPA privacy regulations and raises the stakes for children’s protection in digital media. For content creators and parents, it’s more proof privacy remains a moving (and expensive) target in streaming and entertainment.

Switzerland’s Open-Source AI Sets Global Trend

Switzerland made headlines by launching Apertus, a national open-source language model built as an alternative to US-based AIs like OpenAI. The move signals a push for “AI sovereignty,” enabling local control and security for sectors ranging from education to health—and paving the way for other nations to follow suit with custom, homegrown AI.

Climate Tech, AI Gambling, and More Trending Now

On the edge of IFA 2025, trending topics hit full throttle:

AI gambling agents are reshaping sports betting with powerful predictive models.

Spiritual AI influencers offer algorithm-driven life advice and wellness coaching.

Climate tech research warns that extreme summer heat may physically accelerate aging, challenging designers of health and smart home systems.

China’s military tech is about to take the spotlight at the Victory Day parade, with advances expected in smart weapons and command systems.

Last opening day before Techtember starts: Here is a comprehensive article summarizing key technology breakthroughs and trends from the week. September kicks off ‘Techtember’, when the spotlight shines on the year’s most anticipated tech launches and innovation reaches a fever pitch ahead of the IFA conference in Berlin. As the industry gears up for major unveilings—from next-gen smartphones and foldables to breakthrough AI hardware – manufacturers are racing to debut devices and features that promise to transform how people live, work, and connect.

Plaud AI Pro: Game-Changing AI Notetaker

Honor Magic V5: The Slimmest Foldable Yet

DJI Mic 3: The Pocket-Sized Studio

AI & Technology: A Shifting Landscape

Mobile & Devices: Refinement Rules

Gaming & Entertainment: Power to the Players

Security & Privacy: Lines in the Sand

Automotive & Transportation: Growing Pains

Business & Industry: Winners and Losers

Plaud AI Pro: Game-Changing AI Notetaker

Hardware startup Plaud.ai has launched its new Plaud Note Pro, a credit-card-sized AI notetaking device priced at $179 (€169), aimed at professionals and students seeking efficient, hands-free audio documentation. The Note Pro introduces a small AMOLED screen, extended battery life (up to 50 hours with a 9.8-foot range), and quadruple MEMS microphones, doubling its audio capture range to 16.4 feet. Enhanced with auto-detection for different recording scenarios, advanced noise suppression, and speaker detection, the Pro model leverages AI to offer features like multidimensional summaries and customizable note templates within its companion app.

Pre-orders come with 600 free transcription minutes and the startup claims it has shipped over a million units, with half of users upgrading to Pro plans—echoing strong adoption in a tough AI hardware market.

Honor Magic V5: The Slimmest Foldable Yet

Foldables used to feel futuristic. The Honor Magic V5 makes them feel inevitable. Just 4.1mm thin when unfolded, it’s now the world’s slimmest foldable, beating rivals by a hair. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip powers buttery-smooth multitasking, while a 50MP triple-camera system proves that slim doesn’t mean compromised.

Yes, it’s still a little awkward to hold folded. But reviewers agree: this is the first foldable that feels less like a prototype and more like a perfected vision—one already hitting shelves in Europe and the UAE.

DJI Mic 3: The Pocket-Sized Studio

Creators, rejoice. The DJI Mic 3 is half the size of its predecessor and twice as versatile.
Rokid plans to unveil its latest augmented reality wearable at IFA 2025 in Berlin, introducing the new Rokid Glasses. The device marks the company’s push into the consumer AR market, where competition is heating up as startups and tech giants race to define the next generation of computing.

A 49g AR Headset With AI Features

At just 49 grams, the Rokid Glasses are among the lightest consumer AR devices announced so far. They integrate a 12MP first-person camera for hands-free capture, along with real-time translation and object recognition powered by AI. Other features include built-in audio for calls and media, customizable lenses for vision correction, and a rechargeable case capable of providing up to ten full charges.

The design emphasizes convenience: users can take calls, access notifications, or translate conversations without reaching for their phone. Rokid says the goal is to make AR “a smarter way to engage with the world,” blurring the line between entertainment, productivity, and daily communication.

Competing in a Crowded AR Market

The announcement comes as several companies intensify their investment in AR glasses. Xreal has gained traction with its consumer-focused smart glasses, while Meta and Apple are developing higher-end headsets targeting mixed reality experiences. Rokid’s approach — lightweight hardware paired with strong AI integration — positions it as a potential alternative for users looking for portability over immersion.

Industry analysts note that the combination of AR with built-in AI assistants is becoming a key trend. Where early smart glasses struggled to find a clear use case, devices like Rokid’s aim to solve everyday problems such as translation and task management, in addition to entertainment.

A Decade of AR Development

Founded in 2014, Rokid has built AR and AI systems deployed in more than 80 countries, including enterprise solutions for logistics and education. The company’s YodaOS-Master platform underpins its ecosystem of AR hardware, enabling tighter integration of voice, vision, and AI services. The Rokid Glasses represent one of its most consumer-facing launches to date.

IFA 2025 Showcase

Visitors to IFA can try the Rokid Glasses and other company products at Hall 6.2, Stand 169 from September 5–9.
