It's really not even possible to have downtime. Many people have busy schedules, but there is time left over in between appointments, soccer games, and errands. So much of that time is just poured down the drain. Don't wait for things to happen. Instead, think of those slots of time as the "Free Take-One" samples at your favorite store! They're for the taking if you're interested but they're rare! So, use whatever time you find as constructively as possible.

Sleep.

At the root of it all, today's post might seem de-motivational. Sleep often, and sleep more. While you physically can't get as much done as you sleep, it will make you more alert and productive during the hours that you are awake. Sure, no one can change the world while they're dreaming, but who knows, you could wake up with a dream to change the world. Most people feel that they need to put off sleep because they are stressed about their work. However, you will be less stressed if you get those extra few hours of rest. In fact, I think i'll get to it right now. Goodnight.

Give of Yourself

Personal success is very important. However, it is even more important to be aware of people around you who may need help. Give of yourself whenever you can. But it's not all about the money, either. Give your energy to other people by helping at a homeless shelter or a soup kitchen. Financial contributions are always gratefully accepted, but you might feel better getting involved in a project yourself. See what you can do on a national or local level, and find a way to make a real difference.

Affect Others

It's very easy to have a positive effect on those around you. Just 2 weeks ago when I started this blog, I didn't know how things would turn out. However, I held an optimistic view about my new project, and so I went forward with my plan. Unknown to me, was that people would actually be interested in what I had to say. I'm proud to announce that in just 14 days, Caffeine has received almost 1,500 individual hits, averaging 113 hits per post. Just yesterday, we received 313 views, 23% percent of our all-time traffic. Clearly, the site is growing, and we're just getting started.

The point of this post, however, is not to boast about my site traffic. Instead, it is to encourage everyone to believe that they can accomplish their goals. With some effort, and some faith in yourself, you can do more than you've ever imagined. If Caffeine continues to grow at it's current rate we will receive almost 7,000 unique hits at the conclusion of week 4. As I listened to John McCain, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton make their comments, I was deeply inspired. I was inspired by the confidence that all of the candidates exuded as they spoke. I said, "why not write to my readers about this." And so, I am.
Be confident every day and believe in what you are doing. Those who have faith and truth in themselves, are often those who become successful. Creating goals for yourself is one of the best ways to actually get things done. You'll be better off if you create some general goals that you want to accomplish over the course of the upcoming year, and also a few specific ones that might be more difficult. But don't be discouraged! Don't avoid something because it could be difficult. Take some time in 2008 to try new things, and do away with things that are causing you stress or discomfort. Creating positive, realistic goals will make 2008 a great year, so before you start partying, take some time to think about what you want to do in '08.

Fresh Air

Good morning everyone!
