Update Sept. 22, 2026: Anne of Carversville cannot fathom the despair and suffering of the Gerber-Crawford family on this day. We only know this famous quartet — now minus one — from a distance. But their openness in sharing their own worries and concerns — but also love and praise for their son/brother Presley in his addiction battle — helped to humanize this condition for the countless families touched by its scorching path of destruction.

No words can alleviate their pain in the hours after the death of son Presley Gerber on Sunday, September 20, 2026. AOC won’t try.

As a deeply empathetic person, I am saddened to experience in a smallest-possible way the imprint of their devastating sorrow and confusion around this event. Because they were open about their family challenges, we know that parents Cindy and Rande, and sister Kaia did everything possible to nurture a positive outcome for their beloved son and brother Presley.

Porter Magazine [IG] recently toasted Fall Fashion, NYFW and Cindy Crawford, for her September 2026 cover story. The high wattage gathering happened at Straker’s, the new Italian eatery at 59 Grand Street in Soho, New York City.

Cultured Magazine wrote that Cindy was the official reason for the many evening toasts, but it was also a moment for Net-A-Porter to flex their muscle by getting the keys to Straker’s before its public opening — and then deliver a beautiful people cast with plenty of options of where to go that night.

‘Practical Magic 2’ Box Office

The movie opened last weekend on the low end of expectations, with about $30 million in domestic receipts across 4,146 North American theaters, and $16 million in 77 international markets. With a production budget of $75 million, confirmed by Variety and Entertainment Weekly, the return on investment appears to be not promising.

Certainly the film is no blockbuster. But adjusted for inflation, the original 1998 film initially flopped as well. It opened at $13 million (about $27 million) but went on to develop cult status.

Returning to the Interview photoshoot and convo with Bullock and Kidman, photographer Mako shares his thoughts on the movie-inspired fashion shoot, in which Sandra Bullock teams up with Nicole Kidman for ‘Practical Magic 2’, directed by Susanne Bier.

“Sandra is all heart, no armor, only kindness, only work, only truth. For this story I wanted to bring the Owens house into my house. In Practical Magic, magic is never in the sky. It’s in the kitchen, in the fireplace, in the black cat that won’t leave the mantle. I didn’t want to photograph a witch. I wanted to photograph a woman who kept a house alive long enough for magic to grow back in. Thank you for trusting me with your return.”

Hollywood Reporter explains on Apple News the history of the film.

‘Practical Magic’ was released Oct. 16, 1998, and even though it topped the box office chart, the $75 million feature earned mixed reviews and collected $68.3 million globally. "The movie was not considered a success at the time, and I took a bit of a hit as a director," Dunne reflected in 2017 about the film that has since cemented a cult following.

Michael Rider's Celine Star Is a Magic Wand of ‘Infinite Possibilities' for LVMH AOC Fashion

‘Obsessed’ is not a word used on Anne of Carversville. except on rare occasions. I’m willing to bet that we haven’t used the word ‘obsessed’ once in 2026. It’s time for a change.

My state of being increasingly impressed with Celine creative director Michael Rider shows no sign of subsiding. And now, I am over-the-moon obsessed with the Celine ‘Infinite Possibilities 2026’ Campaign.

Much credit goes to Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel and their highest-standards creative input. It just seems that everything is rockin’ at Celine; that an entire team is on the same wave length. As an observer of people, it makes me feel optimistic in an unoptimistic time in American history.

Models in the campaign are Anna Thomsen, Hannah Weber, Haojie Qi, Kylee Dixon, Valerie Margareta, and Viktoria Wirs. The video was directed by Massimiliano Bomba and photography by Eijin Ota [IG].

Michael Rider has achieved much in his short tenure at Celine. Hedi Slimane didn’t leave Celine in any tattered and torn state of disrepair or slo’mo sameness. Hedi left it strong, and like Rider, Slimane moved out in year one of his tenure to grow revenues and profits.

The designer’s background is different from Pharrell’s for certain, but even I shook my head over how Rider got off a quasi-activist, values-driven career track, to end up as creative director of Celine.

Open-Minded with Community Focus at a Young Age

Michael Rider grew up in Washington, DC, with parents who were lawyers specializing in civil and family law. He studied Portuguese and education sciences at Brown University in Providence, RI and headed to Brazil for several months to write his senior thesis. Rider’s focus was dance and sexuality in Brazil, a joyful reality that many of us know is quite different from most other countries.

The young American taught English to children living in favelas there. After his return to America as a Brown graduate, Michael Rider moved to Oakland, across the San Francisco Bay. Rider worked as a teacher in a middle school for students who had dropped out of the regular school system.

"It was very rewarding, but exhausting. I was barely 22, but I felt like I was 45! I lasted two years."

Now you understand my comparing Michael Rider with Pharrell Williams. I assume they continue to have a shared perspective on the many critical issues of our time.

Jonathan Anderson better get his act together at Dior, or Rider should make overtaking Dior a 5-year goal, with a BIG bonus attached if he succeeds. And Rider can fund a school for special kids of all backgrounds. Or he can use Pharrell’s existing YELLOWHAB Virginia school template for his school, in another city.

What a hoot!! Two successful LVMH creative directors funding cutting-edge schools. Women VICs love this kind of private philanthropy around educating all talented kids, no matter what life story they bring to the classroom.
