A new home for the popular podcast app- Pocket Casts is now owned by Automattic, the owner of Tumblr and WordPress.com. The firm announced that it acquired Pocket Casts, the well-regarded podcast app.

Pocket Casts launched in 2010 and sold to NPR and a group of other public media groups in 2018. It’s been well-received, particularly from different sites, because it’s available across platforms.

Pocket Casts Plus was the program that gained huge traction, although it charges users a monthly subscription fee for features like desktop app access and a standalone Apple Watch app, in 2019. Pocket Casts initially went up for sale in January after its board of public media members voted.

The app is free to download, and this kept the revenue loss, and NPR reportedly lost $800,000 on it last year. Automattic strategizes on the plans to monetize the app, and to learn more about whether it’s keeping all of the Pocket Cast employees on full-time.

In a 11 minute new video on YouTube, it has posted startup sounds from various versions of Windows.

They’re all slowed down by 4,000 percent, and Microsoft positions this as a relaxing video for those far too excited by the Windows event on June 24th. This is much teasing a new startup sound for Windows 11, or whatever the next version of Windows will be called.

The hints follow an event starting at 11AM ET and the event invite that has a window that creates a shadow with an outline that looks very much like the number 11. Microsoft may announce a new version of Windows with significant user interface changes.

It has been working on something codenamed “Sun Valley.” The company has referred this to as a “sweeping visual rejuvenation of Windows.” There will be many other changes, including some significant Windows Store ones.

This tech giant is finalizing its Xbox Game Streaming app for Windows PCs that includes access to streaming games from the company’s xCloud service.

However this unannounced and unreleased app is getting managed for access to the latest version of the Xbox Game Streaming app for Windows. The app will let Windows users stream games from their Xbox Series S / X consoles, and from xCloud after the release.

There’s no access to stream games from the new Xbox consoles to Windows PCs currently. Beides, this is unsupported in the existing Xbox Console Companion app. This new app will solve that, and also bring xCloud streaming to Windows PCs for the first time.

Users can remotely wake an Xbox console, sign in, and play games wherever you are. The Xbox remote play feature, for connecting to Xbox consoles, works similarly to how the existing Console Companion does.

It has started testing an update to Word that will color entire documents in a dark canvas. A future update to Word will include the ability to switch the canvas into dark mode, too.
Currently, Word has a dark mode that modifies the ribbon and toolbars, but the canvas stays bright white. There will be a Switch Modes button in the Word ribbon to change between a dark and light canvas, and options in Word to permanently disable the dark canvas, too.
The new Word dark mode update is similar to what currently exists in OneNote. It has options to switch between a dark and light canvas. This darker mode is currently available to beta testers of Office 365. Hence, it is expected to roll out to Word users soon.

The uncertainty over the new policy of data sharing with Facebook has made it much into the firm to release the update on the actual planned date. The update does not in fact affect data sharing with Facebook with regard to user chats or other profile information.

WhatsApp has continuously clarified that its update addresses business chats in the event a user converses with a company’s customer service platform through WhatsApp. Since 2016, WhatsApp has shared certain information with Facebook, including your phone number.

WhatsApp does not look at people’s chat messages or listen to their phone calls. Also, the conversations are end-to-end encrypted to protect against those abuses. A pop-up informing users of the new change included mention of how WhatsApp partners with Facebook.

Zoom is already working on the email product and the report states will be a web email service that may begin testing as early as next year.

However the uncertainty with the calendar app still goes on with the development on the roll. Now the ideas for Zoom to explore may soon come into implementation. But there might be a different scenario in case companies start bringing employees back to the office.

It is likely to see six camera’s on the upcoming Samsung phone that’s getting released in January event. This camera section is much impressive as the rumors come by.

The new device will probably have a 3x and 10x telephoto cameras (72mm and 240mm equivalent focal lengths, respectively), both with optical image stabilization. This is one additional rear-facing camera compared to the S20 Ultra’s three rear sensors.

The 10x lens on S21 will use a folded optic design similar to the S20’s telephoto camera. We expect that Samsung will once again offer hybrid zoom that reaches much farther than that 10x optical range.

There are a few notable non-camera-related details. These specs confirm a 6.8-inch display with variable refresh rates from one to 120Hz, along with a battery-saving move also adopted from the Note 20 Ultra. There will be a separately available S Pen support.

This applies once more than 15 gigs on the account have been used, from 1st June 2021.

According to the Google Drive policy changes that include counting Google Workspace documents and spreadsheets, the introduction for limitation on photos storage is on the way. The overall cap for storage stands as 15GB.

Google’s new policy will also allow the company to delete data from inactive accounts that haven’t been logged in to for at least two years. So, with the new policies on photos storage, users have time to decide for paying Google or switch to other cloud platforms.

A storage cap in Google Photos as Google already counts “original quality” photo uploads against. However, taking away unlimited backup for “high quality” photos and video also takes away one of the service’s biggest selling points.

Google has confirmed from its users about the new Pixel 5. The company said that there is no effect on the water and dust resistance or functionality of your phone, even with the display gap, which is said to be a normal design.

The users also reckon that a visible gap between the display and the body of the phone has no drawbacks to the phone usage. The support thread additionally addresses what many users were most concerned about whether that gap would compromise the Pixel 5’s water resistance.

However, Google made it clear that the gap will have “no effect on the water and dust resistance or functionality of your phone.” It’s not clear how widespread the display gap issue is on Pixel 5 devices.

On various user responses in the support thread show, some devices appear to be impacted to a greater extent than others. But while the gap may look concerning, it’s reassuring to know that it shouldn’t have any functional impact on your device.
