Consensus: General improvements on costumes, hair and make-up since Twilight, but Rob Pattinson's make-up still stands out in its... uh... girliness, and Caius's make-up is noticeably different from the other members of the Volturi. And what is with the matchy-matchy Town and Country outfits of Edward and Bella in Alice's vision?!

Locations and Props
Consensus: Great continuity of props and settings between Twilight and New Moon despite the change in locations, though the change in the Volvo model is baffling (chalk it up to Volvo's sponsorship/marketing strategy). Fake flowers in the meadow -- we see you!

Cinematography
Consensus: The general palette of the film evokes a more romantic feel and reflects the warmth of the wolves and the opulence of the Volturi. Shot selection was also commendable. Chris Weitz could have taken more creative risks, but an experiment gone wrong would have been more detrimental to the film.

Consensus: Editing was more fluid and made more sense than Twilight, although there were a couple of glitches; however, these glitches were hardly noticeable.

Special Effects
Consensus: Depiction of vampire speed was not groundbreaking in its concept, but was executed very well to the filmmakers credit; it made more sense and was consistent throughout the film. The sparkle effect has improved. The wolves were AWESOME!!!! Collectively, the special effects do not intrude on the audience's suspension of disbelief, except for Force-Ghost-Edward, whose general effect is iffy.

Sound Design and Music
Consensus: Sound design is good, and compliments the visuals nicely. Alexandre Desplat's musical score was very apt for the film and captured the emotional roller-coaster of the story very well without being too intrusive. Most of the songs selected by Alexandra Patsavas were well-placed.

Performance and Direction
Consensus: We commend a very much improved Kristen Stewart and a scene-stealing, sympathetic Taylor Lautner. Rob Pattinson improved a little as well, and had better moments, but still tended to look constipated instead of a brooding, emo vampire; he is outshone by his co-stars most of the time. Most secondary characters make the most out of their very little screen time. Chris Weitz's over-all direction and vision is commendable, but he played it too safe, to the film's detriment.

Consensus: Considering that New Moon is a difficult book to adapt, the resulting story was a good distillation of the myriad of plot points. Elements like the passage of time and the internal Bella monologues were portrayed very well. However, Chris Weitz and Melissa Rosenberg seemed like they were tied down by the passionate fans who would balk at noticeable deviations from canon. Fans will love the adaptation but it will not make non-fans happy.

What are the listeners' most memorable Twilight moments in 2008?

Alyssa - Being able to watch the movie obviously made it to the top of my list along with the concert in glorietta. Because who wouldn't have enjoyed watching TWILIGHT, having a snapshot with edward&bella lookalikes, listening to urbandub and the other bands, and getting a nice twilight memorabilia (poster)?

Sheri - When I saw the word TWILIGHT during the movie. Time froze and I started to hyperventilate. I can't believe that I'm watching the movie until that specific moment. It was surreal.

Anna Nicolette - When I was eating dinner with my family and my dad suddenly asked me why the hale would I want to buy contacts.
*real conversation*
Dad: Bakit mo ba gustong bumili ng contacts?
Me: *quiet*
Mom: Para pumorma.
Me: *still quiet*
Dad: Gusto mo lang magmukhang Twilight (character) eh! Anung kulayba gusto mo?
Me: *in a very hushed tone* Yellow

Alex Jo - When I found out that my Edward Cullen is already by my side..XD
( I realized that every person has its own Edward Cullen, and every person can BE someone's Edward Cullen.)

Riyah - For me the most memorable Twilight-related moment is being literally going/visiting bookstores in malls (QC, makati, taguig, mandaluyong) looking and asking for the twilight saga books if it's available, going ga-ga over the internet on acquiring Twilight-related stuffs (shirts, pins, calendar, poster etc...).I've never been this obssessed about anything but there really is a charm that Edward Cullen has that makes girls drawn tohim although he is a fictional character.

Jacq - Well, what do you know? I can consider myself as the Luckiest Pinay Twilighter of 2008 because of my Rome experience. I know anybody would give anything to have my place when I met them. However, the most memorable that happened is that I found a couple of friends from this Twilight craze and right now I can say we get along really well and I will forever treasure them for being part of existence.. No, we not only share Twilight FYI. =)

Rome - I cannot think of any specific moment as there are far too-many. I'll just share the top of mind things.
Becoming a member of TCP - It's my 2008 challenge for myself, doing something for the first time. Despite being a fan girl at heart, I never joined any local fandom groups aside from TCP. Having found new friends as a result of it is made of awesome.
Discovering the Twilight Saga last June 2008 - without it, it wouldn't have led to this
Watching the movie 9 times which includes an advanced screening and a private viewing at Podium
Receiving a package of special editions of the Twilight books from my cousin in Australia

Prezeuz - my ninang asked me what i want for christmas. since i still don't have the books, i asked na twilight na lang. indi ko na inexpect na mabibigay nya yun kasi kuripot yun! but when we saw each other again, she told me "uy, wala nang stock, gusto mo yung soundtrack na lang? haha! magkano yun?" "P450 siguro," i answered" "wag na lang! ang mahal! bigyan na lang kita ng pera tapos ballpen. haha! samahan ko na rin ng notebook" (its because, i love to write!) at that time, i was actually saving money for the cd... then when went to their house for Christmas. we exchanged gifts. you know what she got me? the soundtrack! i really didn't expect her to give something that expensive. because of the shock and too much happiness, i actually cried! and it is the first time i cried in front of all my relatives. they even recorded it. dang! i just wish they wont put the freaking vid in youtube. haha! ang babaw ko talagang tao! :]

Melissa - I have LOTS so, just choose
from them, hirap kasi pumili kasi 2008 was jampacked with loads of Twilight related activities.
1. When I purchased my copy of New Moon in Fully Booked The Fort - I had no idea how to get there so I had to commute on a Sunday (which is my only rest day) and I had my period so I struggled to walk in DARK HIGH NOON (wink wink) despite my cramps - all for the love of Twilight.
2. When I attended the book discussion in August at Makati because that was the 1st official TCP event I've been to where I met all the admins (nandun pa c Daene, buti nalang :) ) and Shane and Beth (both TCP members) and I had to render undertime (my boss had no idea that the reason I wrote in the leave form is false, hahaha).
3. When I watched the movie premiere with no less than the TCP admins and members (thanks ulit to you guys for the free tickets) at Robinsons because I had just been from Laguna where we had our teambuilding seminar a few days ago. I even had my backpack with all my stuff in it! I didn't mind that Jam and her seatmate were like
recording a podcast because of all their talking, it was certainly a night to remember. Ang saya saya!
4. Finally, the TCP Christmas Party because that was like the culmination of all the Twilight-related activities for the year, and because I've gained new friends (TCP members and admins narin, wink wink. sorry for the asskissing, hehehe), and even though I didn't win anything, it was a fun time for all. Oh, and I was able to claim my prize for the Postcard for Stephenie porject AND again, I had to render undertime again for work (bummer talaga when you have work on Saturdays :( )

Kai - To steer away from the "fandom" my answer would probably be so random...
First, Twilgiht and the rest of Meyer's books received so many recognition.
Like she said, she never would have imagined that this would be SO BIG.
For her to accomplish so much and letting us in on the "world" that she created. -- I guess we owe it to her or something.
Second, of course everybody reads Twilgiht. But you would never expect Barack Obama "know about it".
You know? For a Twilight fan (and a Obama supporter) it's exciting to hear those kinda things.
I don't really know if he actually reads it to his daughters or whatnot but what I know is Malia, his oldest, read it.
He said to Ryan Seacrest, "Apparently, it's big time".

Liam - My most memorable Twilight-related moment in 2008 was, I think, when I bought several dozens of ChocoMucho to get a free Twilight movie premiere invite. My sibs and I literally ate all those ChocoMuchos just to get 1 ticket. I think it's one of the reasons why I gained so much weight harharhar.

Elizabeth - The local release date of Breaking dawn would definitely top my list. Prior to the 4th i was convinced (I believe with all my heart and soul) that the local release is on the same day as the international release date (which is August 2) so I had my reservation in the nearest NBS branch from home (thinking that i cannot waste even an hour or so of waiting 'til i come home to start reading...) come, Saturday (August 2), before going to the bookstore I decided to check the internet (check on mails, blah blah) and was surprised to see that the local release date is on the 4th. August 4 is a monday, the most hectic time of the week at the office and it is my 23rd Birth Anniversary. I pretended to be sick, requested for a half day emergency leave...just to get my copy. all of my ka-opisina knew what i have been doing, except my boss. I spend half of my day at the office staring at my copy of Breaking Dawn, feeling guilty of tricking my boss, rushing all the things so i can get home early and start reading... almost forgetting that it is my day.

Boy, this was one laugh-fest of an episode, Part 1 of Episode 10 is now online!

This is our first attempt at incorporating listener feedback in our programme, and one of the lessons that we learned is to ask just one question per episode. The discussions became too long, thus, we had to split this episode into two parts.

What do the listeners want to see in the Twilight DVD?
- Alyssa: Well, I actually wanted to see (I know this is kinda impossible) a video of the twilight cast jamming together. You know, when they finish filming for the day, sometimes they go to one of the cast's trailer to just hang out, play instruments and sing. I think it will be interesting to watch them perform music.
- Sheri: Probably the auditions. It would be nice to see the first time Kristen and Rob kissed. And also for us to have a glimpse of those who auditioned for Edward's role.
- Anna Nicolette: The "Lion and the Lamb" part wherein Esme was the one to utter the quote not Edward. The delivery would've been more fitting rather than just being blurted out by Edward.
- Alex Jo: I wish it also have an audio commentary by the author of Twilight, Stephenie Meyer. And I wish that it has lyrics of "Bella's Lullaby". And I also wished that the cover has an autograph by Miss Stephenie Meyer.
- Riyah: Maybe most of the fans would also like the BLOOPERS portion while making the movie to be included in the DVD as well. And also for me specially, I'd prefer if they include the video where Rob pattinson audition for the role of Edward.
- Jacq/Amala: I know this sounds crazy but I would have wanted to have the DVDs signed by the cast. ahaha Well, aside from that, I would want them to at least have an exclusive interview of the cast and everybody behind the movie. More behind the scenes maybe...
- Rome: A Blooper or Gag Reel, More BTS footage: the ones shown in Rome and Madrid comes to mind, hope it's included in the 7-part docu
- Prezeuz: i really want to see how the stars auditioned for the roles.. haha!
- Melissa: For the Twilight DVD, it would be nice to include a feature on the Rome Film Festival when Twilight debut the 8-minute clip. It would be a blast to hear those Twilighters screaming, maybe even see our very own Amala Thea, our official TCP correspondent from Rome. Also, maybe clips from the LA movie premiere and other premieres from other parts of the globe (Madrid, Italy, etc.) and just basically capture the craziness and the cast/director's reactions to it.
- Kai: I'm not really sure if there's a blooper reel on the DVD ( -- is there?) If there's none, then, I'd like that. Mainly because I would like to see Rob and Kristen loosen up a bit, you know? I think fans would like to see them out of their "Why so serious face/s". ;)) I also would like to see alternate endings / cuts or whatnot. You know, the same scene but from a different angle or camera shot or clip. It'll be interesting to see what shots were not used and could be used for that scene and compare it.
- Liam: Ge, Xin, Rome, Echo, and I were talking about the Tagalog translation of Twilight lines. As what Rome posted in the Tagalugin Mo thread, it's quite interesting to see a Tagalog dubbed Bella-Edward Kissing Scene. Plus, I think it should be dubbed by 2 of the most promising members of the TCP Forum. It will be totally cool (and hilarious hehehe) to have that in the DVD.
- Elizabeth: The Audition. (not sure if this is part of the documentary: "The Adventure Begins: The Journey from Page to Screen", which is among the special features) I would want to see how the actors convince the Producers, Meyer and everyone that they are good for the role. plus, i kinda think that they try on different roles before 'landing' on their final role. I think it's fun...seeing another actor play somebody's role...

Q: This is going to sound insanely curious but… do the vampires bathe? Given that you said the hunting is messy (no clean puncture wounds), I’m assuming that they get dirty… or at least bloody. So do they take showers? Do they comb their hair? Brush their teeth?
A: Vampires do shower, but they don’t get dirty the same way we do. Outside dirt, yes–blood and mud and whatnot (though most vampires don’t get a spot on themselves when they eat–its all a matter of practice), but not sweat or body oils. They would never have B.O., ha ha. One girl asked me why Alice had a bathroom and if vampires have to pee. No, they don’t (they use all the blood, creating no waste), but they do shower. (And of course they have to have bathrooms–houses are just built that way, and when they want to move, it would look a little weird on the real estate listing: eight bedrooms, no baths.)
They do wash the dust and rain out of their hair, too. And Rosalie particularly spends a lot of time doing hers. (Hair is dead cells–the vampire transformation doesn’t affect it. If you’ve got split ends, sorry! Not getting better. Ha ha).

ROBERT PATTINSON: “Twilight” has sold millions and millions of books. Now the movie’s gonna be even bigger! After Friday, Robert won’t be able to walk down the street without being manhandled by adoring fans (and of course, Chris Matthews). I predict a weekend opening in the gazillion-dollar range. When we recorded Episode 05 last Saturday, I forgot to prepare a script. Everyone thought: that's okay, we'll just wing it, it's not as if we haven't done that before. So yes, we did wing it, but we never imagined the whole episode would become the laughfest that it turned out to be.

This is one of the portions I had to cut out from the main episode to keep the final cut within a reasonable time frame. However, this is just too funny (at least to us) to remain on my virtual cutting room floor, unpublished.

So, here it is: a raw, unedited part of our podcast recording. We're really just laughing the whole time, but we hope that you will laugh right along with us. We have absolutely no idea why this whole Chihuahua thing came up. It just came out of nowhere, much like Tyler's van.
