Sunday July 24: Kensington heats up with The Sun & Salsa Festival!

This annual family event takes place along Kensington Road and 10th Street NW. Seven live entertainment stages will spread Latin flavour through the neighbourhood if you want to listen to music and dance. DancesportMD will be among the latin dancing entertainment once again!

Come support the dancers and see them at their best!

This fabulous evening not only has DancesportMD couples performing but Burlesquercise will also have The Little Vegas Dance Company tearing up the dance floor.
You can expect a lot of hot performances, live music, wine tasting, silent auctions and great prizes.

All proceeds will be donated to support the earthquake victims in Japan.

Dancesport MD is pleased to present Calgary’s best kept secret..ballroom dancing! Alberta’s Top 2 dancesport couples have been invited to dance at this event on March 18, 2011 namely:
The Alberta Closed Latin Champions Mathew Michalksi (age 18) and Stephanie Jurkova (age 16) as well the Alberta Standard Ballroom Champions Stephan Badea (age 16) and Madelina Varlam (age 15).
The children of immigrants, both couples strive to be professional dancers and so far have proven to be Canada’s stars of tomorrow. …

Calgary International Salsa Congress

On Feb 4-5-6, 2011 Calgary enjoyed a three day weekend… of salsa dancing, workshops and evening shows and DancesportMD had a few of the most amazing performances to remember. All of the dancesport dancers on stage represented the world of sexy dancing alongside all the hot salsa dancers from around the world.

The crowd enjoyed a special intense performance from our So You Think You Can Dance Canada finalists, Tony & Julia.

Vlad and Valeria did their cheeky cha cha cha…

And finally Mathew & Stefi did their hot ‘Chicago’ inspired latin number.

Congrats to Diana & Martin’s DancesportMD’s kids being featured in the local newspapers!

Vlad Timofyeyev, 14 years old & Valeria Gomez, 11 years old - were pictured in The Calgary Sun on Monday January 31/11.

The pair was practicing prior to competing at Northern Lights 2011 Classic in Edmonton on the weekend Jan 29/30.

Mathew & Stefi dance at PRIMAL!

Great dancing by Mathew Michalski & Stephanie Dzurkova at PRIMAL!

They duo along with THE LITTLE VEGAS DANCE COMPANY, were invited to perform at the Calgary’s Zoo’s annual fundraiser “PRIMAL” on September 10, 2010. They started the evening by welcoming guests and dancing african freestyle to a drumming circle…which was quite entertaining..especially for Mathew.

How do you like the make up?

Stefi actually left her sand doom buggy in the parking lot.

As guests made their way through the Zoo grounds taste testing various food and wine vendors…the gang took full advantage of expressing their primal nature!

Mathew & Stefi obviuosly enjoyed doing something different!

Mathew & Stefi performed their infamous “Liberian” Rumba show on two very challenging outdoor stages..less than 12×12 and wet! They are professionals in the making! Can you figure out what they are doing in this photo?

Yes, Stefi is a contorsionist..they were spinning so fast the photo is out of focus! Looks kinda alien don’t you think?

While waiting for the third show of the evening, all the primal entertainers goofed around and enjoyed their time together…check out Mathew & Miss Lacey worship the fire!

Congratulations to The Calgary Zoo for a fabulous event! It was so fun for everyone!
