So Punxsutawney Phil may be predicting another six weeks of winter but come March 4^th to 11^th, the Philadelphia International Flower Show will not only celebrate Spring it’s going to bring Hawaii: Islands of Aloha to Philly, PA. Held at the Convention Center, 12^th and Arch Streets, the event will showcase the largest indoor flower show in the world! My little men and I got to preview the flowers a few weeks back in a NYC event and I cannot wait to go!

Some facts on the Flower Show Named in “1,000 Places to See” Book in the world:

The country’s premier landscape designers and florists are featured and turn 10 acres of exhibit space into a floral fantasy world with exotic plants and eclectic designs.
The Philadelphia International Flower Show has been a Philadelphia tradition since 1829. The Show has evolved from a gathering of professional growers showcasing their prized plants to the largest and oldest indoor flower show in the nation.
Events include Afternoon Tea, Lectures and Demonstrations series, Gardener’s Studio, Preview Dinner, All-Star Culinary Presentations and daily entertainment performances.

After Mr. Potato’s big 60^th birthday celebration we got to tour the Hasbro Showroom in New York City. It was a lot of fun to touch and see new hot toys for 2012 and TRUST ME your kids are going to have a blast with them!

While touring the Hasbro Showroom I saw two big trends for 2012.

Retro Toys are Hip again!

Classic toys like Mr. Potato Head, My Little Pony, Twister, Battleship, Star Wars, My Easy Baked Oven and so many others are being renovated to keep up with the times. The integrity and fun of the classic characters we grew up with are still there but they are getting a new look. Whether it’s going digital like My Easy Bake Oven app and the new Britney Spears Dance Twister. Or getting a new show on the Hub or movies like My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, and Battleship.

I love how Eddy and I will be able to share the toys we grew up with our little men.

Super Heroes are here to stay!

Super Hero toys are not going anywhere! They are just getting cooler! With the upcoming new movies of The Avengers and Spider Man the toys that go with the movies are using technology like character voices and remote control to take the action to the next level!

X may have turned one but sadly I am not back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I am trying! I am working out more eating healthy but it’s hard! I should have 0% body fat after chasing after my wild boys and pups but nope got to keep working on it.

Little Angel’s DVD Prescreening Party Recap

Out today, February 14, 2012 by Fox Home Entertainment and Executive producer Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) comes the Little Angels series that is exclusively designed for preschoolers.

As I mentioned in my planning post we were asked to host a screening party of Little Angels. I received the three DVDs; Little Angels ABC’s, Little Angels Animals, and Little Angels 1,2,3’s, $60 gift card to Wal-mart, Little Angels family friendly activities and halo and wings and invited some friends over for a Little Angels play date party.

We had so much fun! Check out the picture recap slideshow.

We had lunch, played dress up and did some arts and crafts but the real star of the party was the Little Angels DVDs.

The DVDs follow the story of Alex and Zoe and how they learn life lessons like sharing, ABCs and patience with the help of their guardian angels. What I love is the educational DVD series is perfect for Rock and his age group. The series is very entertaining with cute songs, interesting stories and has a spiritual element to each DVD. What’s great is the Little Angels series is not only DVDs they have an App on iTunes and CDs, books and apparel to keep the learning going. Parent should be aware that there is a religious undertone in all the DVDs, this is definitely important for those parents who have religious sensitivies. Fortunately for us, we didn’t have any issues with the families at the party.

Valentine’s Day means a lot of things to a lot of people. To me I love the idea of celebrating the people you love with a token of affection like a lover letter, their favorite candy or a back massage.

So I asked some of my blogger friends a pure and simple question, “what do you love?”

Onica: “I love Daniel, chocolate and anything techie and of course Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.”

Suzanne: :I love being a blogger, I love being a nurse, a student, a wife, a daughter … but most of all I love being a Mom.”

Karen: “I love watching the pride in my child’s face as she successfully rides her bike around the parking lot. She knows you can’t accomplish anything without practice, and she is trying hard to balance without her training wheels. Oh, and I love sharing a fluffernutter (a childhood favorite of mine) sandwich for lunch with my daughter on a weekend afternoon.”

Joscelyn: “I love spending quality time with my family and extended family. I am the youngest of four and was born at a later stage in my parents’ lives so its important for me that my children create memories and appreciate their grandparents. Being able to enjoy each other is one of the most joyous and simplest pleasures life can offer.”

Ruby: “I love when my kids ask me for a kiss or hug”

Brenda: “I Love Romance, Flowers, Dark Chocolate and Mexican Serenatas.”

Hawaii and the Philadelphia International #flowershow come to NYC!

Eddy and I love love love to travel!

Our bucket lists usually include all the exotic places we want to visit. Hawaii is one of those exotic places we dream about. We had a trip planned and then realized I would have been 8 months pregnant with Rock so that trip was postponed and now almost four years later we still have not gone.

Going to Hawaii is definitely on my list of things to do before I turn 40 especially after attending the Philadelphia International Flower show. The theme this year is Hawaii and I saw firsthand how the screening room at the Eventi Hotel was transformed into a Hawaiian garden paradise for a media event in New York City.
