Aoi Board

Aoi Board was created as an AIR desktop application to meet the need in Aoi-DC to know where the employees are, to post himself status and send notes to coworkers.

In its second version the concept and design intended for use on desktop and as mobile application.
Flash is a good tool to create simple and quick prototypes and test the application flow before production, and verify design flaws.

2010 Christmas card (New Year 2011) was an interactive video where the user helps us to complete a project before the deadline.
The user has to perform some interactions on the video, such as opening a window, for the movie characters react and keep working. It was a really fun project and very emotional, which evolved during production.
Only two weeks to design and programming. Filming was completed in one day.

Rol

Responsible for the design and programming, likewise participated in the planning of the project.

TweetRunners

TweetRunners born as iPhone application to promote Aminovalue, an amino-acid sports drink that is sold in specific stores, the objective was to increase the number of outlets, establish reputation and wider audience.

Rol

I was part of the team that handled the application flow and the main designer of identity, logo and interface of the application.
For me it was a complicated project, customer requirements conflicted with the needs of the user. It was the first time we worked with an external iPhone developers team and there was many misunderstandings in the communications, that complicated the project. Over the complications, the application met its objectives.

Results

No. 1 in the App Store Healthcare & Fitness category.
33,120 downloads within 3 months after the first release.
20% sales store increased.

Hafa Adai! Guam

Hafa Adai! Guam is a campaign to promote Japanese tourist visits to the island of Guam. The campaign prize is a paid trip to 365 people by lot . The campaign is relaunched every 3 months.
There is an additional site where you can see photos and read the experiences of those who have made the trip to Guam.
Short time of realization, but happy with the style achieved.

The client came to us with the intention of making a manga for the Internet to give the feeling of doing “tateyomi” which is what the Japanese do when they’re in a bookstore or a convenience store and don’t want to buy the manga, but instead they read it standing in the store.

We tried several 3D libraries, including Papervision 3D, but the number of pages and information were so huge that we dismiss the idea.

Another problem was the updates needed, once a week for 12 months. We had to make a stable and easy way to update so much content.

Rol

I was responsible for various parts within the project, for example, create several prototypes to evaluate whether it was factible to do in 3D, although Away 3D gave us the best result, finally we didn’t use it.

Qbic Online Store

Qbic Online Store was an internal project at Aoi-DC, I joined the company with the project had started, to support programming. It was fun, I started my first steps with Actionscript 3.0 and design patterns. We experiment with new technologies by then, as the Text Layout Framework.

It was a project that took great care to detail.

Sonicjam Shaka

Shaka (company song in japanese), was a internal project in Sonicjam to promote the renewal of the company’s website.
Besides participating in the planning of the project, I was responsible for modeling the head and get ready for animation. The challenge was to maintain a low number of polygons and a mesh that works well both in a Japanese face and in a Spanish one, to don’t overload the site more than necessary.

It was very funny record the song in Japanese, at that moment my japanese was crap.
