Our teacher was gracious enough to give us 30 mins to finish our tests. I did finish my test, but I’m pretty sure I’m not getting the fabulous A+++ like I did on the last one. This test was all about memorizing a zillion different procedures and it was just ick. Still, as long as I come out of this class with a C or higher I am a happy camper.

After math I came home to find Joshua home early. Shortly after he played around with my car (I need a new headlight bulb) we went out to do some grocery shopping. I was near empty on food, and I knew that if I am coming down with something I needed to get my around the house tasks done as soon as possible. So I was a busy girl doing laundry, vaccuming, and then getting the food situation taken care.

I finished off my evening with a nice bowl of veggie soup and lots of water. Took a nice hot shower and now I’m heading to bed to rest up. Luckily there’s no Spanish class tomorrow (my teacher is sick too) so I have a nice opportunity to get some sleep!

Aside from that it was a good day at school. Everyone congratulated me in Spanish about my engagement, and I got my magazine ad back with an A+ in digital imaging. Teacher even mentioned the fact she is getting to know names by artwork and mentioned mine as an example, tee hee.

Amber let me borrow her wedding book so I spent the afternoon looking through that and trying to work on the web site. I’m not feeling too inspired at the moment for a new layout so I figure the least I can do is work on content.

So I guess my sister gets Veteran’s Day off tomorrow so she came over here after school and is spending the night. We went over to Arden Fair Mall to do a wee bit of shopping where I got a super cute new case for my iPhone, some hairspray, laundry detergent, and a Gryffindor shirt for when I go see New Moon, haha. What really disturbed me though was the fact they have merchandise at Hot Topic for Charlie the Unicorn. Wow. Just wow.

When we came back home Joshua picked up Round Table Pizza so we spent the evening eating pizza and catching up on TV. Good way to end the day!

I feel like doing all that studying was in vain because I ended up not finishing my test. Neither did the rest of the class. I think a couple people finished early, but 97% of us were there till 5:50pm, me included. I even started my test at 4:20pm, 10 minutes before class officially started. Although there were only 28 problems on the test, a lot of questions had 3-4 parts which is what took up time. My teacher did recognize that the majority of us had not finished out tests and is going to work it our somehow. He’s suppose to email us his verdict sometime this week.

What sucks is I was secretly praying the test wouldn’t end up being today, for obvious reasons. On my way out of class I even heard him say he should have tested us on the two chapters separately. He told us not to worry if we didn’t finish our tests, but I can’t help being concerned. This is my most important class this semester! Erghhhhh!

At least it’s over, although I won’t be completely satisfied until I get my grade. Anxiousness!

Then the wait times for the lines were super short. For example, the stand-by wait time for the Finding Nemo ride was only 20 minutes! Normally it’s 1-2 1/2 hrs! I joked around with one of the cast members about when some lady walked away because 20 minutes is too long!

We got into both Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion Holiday within 10 mins and Indiana Jones within 20! There wasn’t even a line to get a Dole Pineapple Whip! Because of the lack of people we were able to walk the park peacefully and ride all the rides we wanted to by 2pm. In fact the only thing we really had to wait for was our shuttle bus to and from the hotel.

It was seriously magical day. With the proposal and our luck with the rides and lines, I couldn’t have asked for a better anniversary present. And just think, next year we’re getting married on our anniversary! Can’t wait! 363 days to go!

Joshua and I had always planned on getting married, it was merely a matter of when. In order to avoid the “You’re too young” comments as well as appeasing the majority of my family, I insisted I wanted to completely finish college before I got married. However, if Joshua had his way he would have proposed to me 3 years ago.

When my grandmother passed away in October last year leaving the entire family a wreck in depression, I realized life is too short. I also figured that a happy event, such as Joshua and I getting married would be something to pull my family out of its slump. I slowly began dropping hints here and there that I was ready to get married whenever he planned to ask me.

Then back in June Joshua suggested we celebrate our 5 year anniversary by going to Disneyland. Immediately I suspected this would where he planned to propose. For the next couple of months I’d joke around about wanting a new ring or tease him about how I was only the girlfriend. He’d either not comment or respond with, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

In September Joshua received even more pressure since two of his brothers became engaged within the same week. As it stood I was the only “girlfriend” left in the family. I may have been the first girlfriend, but I certainly was the last, haha.

Fast forward to November… a couple days before our trip I accidentally discovered evidence of a large purchase from a jewelery store. Knowing he had the ring, but not know how or when kept me nervous all through the weekend. During our day at Disneyland I had felt the ring in his pocket and to try hard not to giggle as he tried to cover it up.

We had dinner reservations at the Blue Bayou restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. We were finishing dinner when Joshua was being his usual cheesy self (”Cristina I love you so much”, etc.) and I was being a smart-ass back. I said, “What now?!” and then he pulled out the ring. I asked, “Is this for real?” and he said, “Yes it’s for real. Cristina will you marry me?” Of course I started to cry, said yes, and put the ring on. Then I tweeted our announcement all over the internet, HAH!

Afterwards we went shopping on Main Street and I told the saleslady we were engaged since we were buying wedding-themed collectors pins. She gave us two official Disneyland buttons for us to wear that said, “Just engaged!”

Tell us about the ring! Do you love it?

The ring is a quarter karat diamond Si1 round cut G-coloring on a 14 karat white gold-plated titanium band. It’s simple and beautiful, and I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect ring for me!

When’s the date? Where are you getting married? Where do you want to go on your honeymoon?
We plan to be married on Saturday November 6th, 2010. On that day it will be our 6 year anniversary of dating, and since it falls on a Saturday it’s a perfect day for us. We’re not sure yet where we want to get married.

As for the honeymoon, we’re doing the Disney Cruise and Disney World! We’ve talked about doing it for so long so going on our honeymoon is the perfect opportunity!

I was born in the winter.

3) What are your favourite foods to eat when you need to warm up and cool down?
To warm up I go to my Chili’s Chicken Enchilada Soup, and to cool off I go to a Dr. Pepper on ice!

4) Which one are you more likely to suffer from- hayfever or flu- and does it run in your family?
Hayfever. I’ve had the flu twice in my life and rarely anyone in my family gets it.

5) You are granted a day of perfect weather whenever you like. What day do you place it on and why?
I honestly don’t have the luxury of doing whatever I feel like on “perfect weather” days.

Today was my 5 year anniversary with Joshua. While today, November 6 is the official day, we’re really going to celebrate it tomorrow when at Disneyland since most of today was spent getting to SoCal and settling in. Because I went to bed at 1am and woke up 5am, I’ve been beyond exhausted all day long. Hopefully getting to bed early tonight will help me reset my body from today’s madness.

We got into LA around noon and ventured over to the Mercedes-Benz Classic’s Center as part of my anniversary present for Joshua. It was Joshua’s second visit and my first. It was so great to see all these old luxurious cars in such perfect condition. We took a ton of pictures and even saw a Mercedes-Benz that Robin Williams donated to the Classic’s Center! So cool!

A little after 2:30pm we checked into our hotel. We stayed at the same Holiday Inn we did when we came here last year. This time they completely remodeled everything so it was all shiny and new and modern. As soon as we settled into our room we head straight to the hot tub for some relaxation. After the hot tub we showered, got dressed, and went on over to Downtown Disney to have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Once finished with dinner we browsed a couple shops and headed back to the hotel.

I’m waiting for my first batch of pictures to upload, and as soon as they’re done I am heading to bed!

Five years!!

This morning on the way to school I got a crack in my windshield thanks to someone who didn’t bother to clean the back of their truck out. I made an appointment with the local mobile windshield repair guy so I could get it done before leaving tomorrow. So I went to Spanish, talked more about food, and then went to digital imaging where I turned in my second assignment and impressed the teacher with my mad Photoshop skillz.

After class Amber met up with me behind Costco and hung out while my windshield got repaired. Then she followed me over to the nail salon where I treated myself for a manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow wax; gotta have the hands looking pretty in case they get photographed this weekend, haha. After our nails she came over to my house and we hung out until Joshua got home. Dani came over around 6pm to hang with us too, since we weren’t meeting up for sushi until 7:30pm. Shortly after Joshua came home all four us headed up to Cameron Park for a Sushi adventure!

We had a lot of fun and a lot of yummy food. It was an awesome night, and I hope we can all get together for sushi again real soon!

Spanish was torture because we simply went over food vocabulary. Not only were we talking about food, but our teacher put up some pictures on the screen of specialty foods in the different Hispanic countries. Talking about the different fruits, especially pineapple, led to me talking about the pineapple whip from Disneyland. Of course this led to little side conversations about Disneyland and now I am just all the more excited for this weekend!

In other news, I put up a temporary “under construction” page for Lovely Geek. Turns out LovelyGeek.com is registered by someone else so I was forced to go with LovelyGeek.net. I also bought another domain, but I can’t tell you yet, hehe.

Yes, I know Cena is being secretive. Don’t worry, things won’t stay secretive for long… hopefully.

Also since I am going somewhere fun this weekend – Disneyland – it would only be fitting for me to have a ton of homework to complete AND a test the following Monday. FML for sure.

I’m already looking forward to my winter break just so I can get a break from homework. Bleh.

Yesterday kicked off the start of NaBloPoMo, which is National Blog Posting Month. It’s a challenge to blog for a whole month. I like to think of this as a way of getting back on track with blogging. One thing I have noticed is ever since I moved to Sac back at the end of May my blog posts have been lacking, mainly because I was so busy with the house. Yet, the house is done so it has been school and freelance web work taking up my time. Another thing I’ve noticed is sometimes it’s just a lot easier to Tweet things rather than blog about them. Oh well, enough of the excuses! The challenge is on!

I recently purchased LovelyGeek.com which will be home to my new portfolio site. I let CAssenza.com expire because I’m hoping sometime next year I will get to change my last name, hehehe. I’m also trying to make more of a brand for myself since I am starting to get my feet wet in the freelancing web business. Nothing is up on the site right now, but I am hoping to work on that sometime next week.

Anyhoo, today was another day in which a class was canceled on me. Last week Spanish got canceled and today it was kickboxing. Both of these classes are the ones I take at the campus 45 minutes away from my house, so while normally a class being canceled is exciting, this was a mixture of happiness and frustration. I mean these teachers use their email for assignments and such; I just wish they would email us to let us know when class is canceled!

Well I have a butt-load of homework to get done before my Spanish test tomorrow so I shall bid you all a fond farewell until tomorrow, hehe!
