I love my cats, but man I hate it when Izzie catches birds. Bella can’t catch anything except bugs, but Izzie is the hunter. Today she caught what I believe to be a baby sparrow. It caused a big commotion with the birds out in front of my house, so luckily I was able to get both girls inside before they could do the baby anymore harm.

My neighbor is an animal-lover so I was able to ask her what I should do. She told me as long as it’s not near death I should take it to the Wildlife Center. When I came back to find the baby he was gone, so I waited for the parents to come look for him. Sure enough he was hiding in the bush, but I was able to get ahold of him and put him in a shoebox. I took him to Wildcare and it looks like he’s gonna be fine.

I’m really grateful the area I live in has a rescue center. Back at home I’d just have to walk away and try not to think about Chewie eating him. At least here I have options. I’m just glad he’s gonna be okay.

Want to know how lame people are in my area? People seriously have way too much time down here I swear. SO, on my way up to my hometown on Thursday my dad calls me up and asks, “Is your car blowing smoke?” I check my rear-view mirror and reply, “Uh… no I don’t think so. I don’t see anything coming out the back. Why?” He proceeds to tell me he received a letter in the mail informing him my car was reported on June 4th, 2008 around 10:44am to have smoke coming out of it. He tells me he’ll check my car when I get there, but I should probably call Joshua about it.

I called Joshua and basically someone is screwing with me. In other words, they called my car in just because I did something to annoy them or whatever. Now, last I checked, when you piss someone off on the road they just honk and give you the finger. But oh ho ho not in Marin County! All the fighting is sneaky and instead we tattle on you to the California Air Resources Board! I don’t know which is more lame: the fact someone called my car in anonymously or the fact whoever did it is has the hotline number memorized for that use.

When I got to my parents house we filled out the little survey form that came with the letter saying NO my car was not smoking and hasn’t since then. My dad wanted to write in the comment box, “My car is only 7 years old and we don’t let it smoke.”

This morning during math class there was some commotion going on outside our classroom. We heard someone saying something about people needing to leave the building. My teacher paused to listen and then asked us, “Do you smell gas?” No sooner did he ask when a fire chief came into the classroom telling us we needed to evacuate because the construction workers accidentally hit a gas tank causing a gas leak. He told us we were welcomed to resume class in the student services building but my teacher told us we could go home!

It was a nice treat to end the day with, I’m just concerned about being able to cover enough material in preparation for Thursday’s final. We shall see!

I thought by taking one sleeping pill would be enough to calm my Sunday night nerves since taking two put me in a comatose-like state last week. Nope, one pill put me made me a zombie in which I had to get a Starbucks Double-Shot to keep me awake in Math today. Not only that, but I just woke up from an hour-long nap originally suppose to be only 30 minutes and I feel groggy and sick. I’m not sure if it’s the pill or the fact my lunch was pieces of garlic cheese and Cheez-its.

My weekend was a busy one beginning with me leaving for my hometown Thursday morning. My teacher switched things up a bit giving us our test first thing instead of at the end of class like he normally does. This allowed me to sneak out around 9:30am or so. I left my house at 10:30am and got up to my parent’s house about 1pm. I had to wait around a bit longer since my mom and sis were out. When they got back I left with them to run errands in Folsom; my sis left for camp on Sunday so she had a list of items to get before then. We did some grocery shopping, had a lovely dinner with the family, and ended the evening watching Batman Begins to bring my mom up to speed since she missed the first half.

Friday morning we (Mom, Sis, and I) left the house at 10am, and I was dropped off for my doctor’s appointment while Smelly had to go to the chiropractor. I was at my doctors for my annual girlie exam and while getting the ta-tas examined we ended up discussing me possibly getting breast reduction. I was very surprised and relieved to know there is a doctor in Sacramento that’s covered by my health insurance. I’ve been thinking about getting this procedure done for a long time, especially since my ta-tas are very big for my age and I have yet to go through motherhood. Plus, my breast size has grown in the last few years, and I’ve recently began having back problems. Taking into account that shopping for tops and bras are frustrating, I am the perfect candidate for this surgery.

Also while at the doctors I got a refill on my anti-baby pills, a presciption for Flonase, and the Gardasil injection. The shot caused me to feel a little lightheaded so I had to sit for awhile before I was okay to leave. Once my mom and sis picked me up, we hurried out of there as fast as we could so we would have time to grab lunch at Quizno’s and get good seats for The Dark Knight. We totally lucked out seeing the matinee show the day the movie came out. We arrived 30 minutes before the show started and only 8 people were in the theatre. We got perfect seats and the theatre was pretty packed by the time the movie started.

I just have to say wow, what a movie! I had mixed feelings about the ending, but other than that I loved it! Heath Ledger did an amazing job as the joker. Not to mention, I love Maggie Gyllenhaal so much more than Katies Holmes. I’m just disappointed in the ending for her character as well as Two-Face. Yeah, just have to say Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent? Sexy.

Saturday I left in the morning so I could get my car filled up and washed, and so I could get my nails done at my favorite salon. Pulled into Marin around 4pm and went out to dinner with Joshua. We had several showtimes to choose from to see Dark Knight but each place seemed to have way too many people, which wasn’t really a surprise for opening weekend on a Saturday night. We ended buying tickets for a 10:20pm show right by our house; when we showed up 30 minutes befort showtime, the line of people was wrapped around the theatre. Joshua didn’t want to wait in line so get managed to get his money back for the tickets, which was good considering this theatre’s computer doesn’t stop selling tickets when the seats are filled. Instead we came home and watched Spider-man 3 from Netflix and boy was that a BAD movie!

Sunday was a do-nothing type day so we pretty much lounged around the house the whole time. It was a drag knowing I’d have to go back to school today anyway. At least one day is down and only 3 more to go!

I had a spat with Mervyn’s. Here’s my letter I sent to their customer service headquarters…

To Whom It May Concern:

On July 10th I purchased two pairs of jeans, one of them one size larger than the other. After a week of wearing the larger pair they ended up being way too big for me. I went out of town to visit family on July 17th, and it just happened I ended up going shopping at the Mervyn’s in Folsom buying the same pair of jeans in one size smaller. I asked the sales associate there if I would have a problem returning a pair of jeans if I didn’t have the tags, as I was planning to return the large pair I bought a week earlier. She said as long as I had the receipt I wouldn’t have a problem.

Today, July 19th I returned home and went to my local Mervyn’s in San Rafael prepared to make my return. The only cashier in the women’s department, named Joni, took nearly 20 minutes to ring up two customers in front of me. When she got to me, I explained my situation and that I did not have the tags. She came off very rude once I mentioned I didn’t have the tags, saying she couldn’t do anything to help me despite have the receipt. I told her that according to the policy on the receipt I have 90 days to make my return with a receipt. She told me that they don’t go by the return policy on the receipt. She proceeded to tell me to go to another cashier somewhere in the store and hopefully someone could help me despite the fact I had already waited 20 minutes in line. She wouldn’t call a manager despite me asking her to and simply said, “Next customer!!” without further helping me.

This is the most outrageous and disappointing example of customer service I have ever experienced at a Mervyn’s. Luckily, another associate in the men’s department named Anissa was able to assist me in my return by calling a manager (something Joni refused to do) and allowed me to grab another pair of the same jeans with the tags so my return would be complete. I am pleased that despite a rude associate like Joni you still managed to have a nice associate like Anissa and her supervisor Anna. I do hope that you can somehow manage to bring this to the attention of someone who can show Joni the proper way to treat customers. I am a former sales associate from Bath & Body Works, and I know the difference between good customer service and rude people.

Thank you for your time.

Yeah, this lady “Joni” was a witch with a “b” f0 sh0.
