I’ve been lucky enough to get a bunch of new shows in the coming months, check them out:

I have one drawing in Drawing Discourse: A Contemporary Exhibition in Drawing at the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery at the University of North Carolina, Asheville from January 12th – February 2nd, 2010. For more info go here: S. Tucker Cooke Gallery

I will have four drawings and one large digital print installation in the Appalachian Faculty Biennial in the Catherine J. Smith Gallery in Farthing Auditorium and at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC from February 5th – March 20th, 2010. Project: ROSETTA

I need YOUR help!

This is an open call for participation in a collaborative vinyl wall installation project that I’m working on for my upcoming exhibit at the William King Regional Art Center this coming spring 2010. The title is ROSETTA and I definitely need a bunch of people to participate (so spread the word!). The deadline is November 27th!!! So, grab a pencil or pen and download the pdf.

There are multiple ways of submitting your work to me. You can either 1) give it to me personally, 2) scan it and email it to me (preferrably at 300 dpi) or 3) mail it to me at the address listed in the pdf (folded submissions are acceptable). Unfortunately, no telepathic submissions will be accepted for this project. If you have any questions, please post them as a comment on this site because others may have the same queries as you!

Eep! Back by popular demand!

Check out the new category in the above menu bar – Comics! (To download a copy of issue #3 of the Eep comic book, just click on the links below. Beware, though, they are large files, so it may take time to download them).

Interesting historical side note: Eep #3 was completed and printed less than a month before September 11th, 2001. Soon after the attack on our beloved monuments to capitalism (that statement was tainted with sarcasm, though I do think the attack was tragic), ‘Missing’ posters, similar to the one I created for the cover of Eep #3 littered the streets of NYC, in hopes that families and friends would soon be reunited. Due to the attack on the World Trade Center, the Small Press Expo (in Bethesda, MD), the independent comic book convention in which Eep #3 was slated to make its official debut, was canceled. So, independent comic book artists from the NYC area organized to put on an alternate alternative comic expo in Brooklyn called the ‘SPXiles’ which, from what I remember, was a huge success.
Interesting personal side note: And, Gaz, if you’re reading this (correct me if I’m wrong), I believe that convention was the first time we hung out for an extended period of time — it was fun!

If y’all ain’t got nuthin’ ta do this Fryday naght, come check out the new printmaking exhibit in downtown Johnson City! The prints are sure to be spectacular because the juror of the show is someone I trust very deeply.
