Sometimes people swoop into our lives on a whim and in the same swift fashion that they arrived they quickly disappear. Fortunately this was not the case with The Deacons. Our business relationship has evolved into quite a lovely friendship over the past several years. I am so proud of this family as I have had the honor of witnessing their engagement, their marriage and the expansion of their precious family. I have also been blessed to document some other momentous occasions for this family as well. One of the most inspiring being Mallory's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Their story still warms my heart. This year as the family said goodbye one final time to their personal hero, Mr. Walter Porter I was blessed to document that moment fro them as well.

It's always great to get a referral but it's even more heart warming to welcome back repeat clients. I first met Jeremy and Jennifer when I photographed their gorgeous 2009 wedding. This Fall I got to meet their newest addition...cute little Colt. He is quite the ham. He was so full of happy smiles. The only challenge was...he is as quick as a lightning bolt! This little fella can launch forward and backward quicker than you can "say cheese." ;-) But I honestly don't think he ever quit smiling from the time that I said hello to him until the time they left. He is a super sweet little guy!

There is nothing more complimentary than a referral. It is the method by which I have grown my business over the years and it is, by far, the most rewarding way to meet new clients. I got an e-mail from an old high school friend (thanks Julie!) who had shared my work with a co-worker who had recently been blessed with a sweet baby girl. The Talley's contacted me and we scheduled a session right away to get baby Kate in front of my camera. I was infatuated with her immediately...I mean just look at her...she is perfection. One of the most cooperative babies ever. She was such a great sleeper and just let me have my way without ever making a peep right up until the final shot. If only every newborn session were this easy. ;-)

If there were ever a couple that were sweeter than Amanda and Adam on their wedding day I would love to meet them because I honestly can't fathom it possible. I met these two love birds at April and Kellens wedding back in 2009. Amanda told me that she would be getting married in the next couple of years and that she would like me to photograph her wedding. Here we were almost two years to the day at her own fairy tale wedding.

I got a call from a Christina to tell me that we needed to book a session right away...they had received some amazing news in a short period of time. Her best friend Tara and her husband Sam had recently been blessed to adopt the perfect baby boy. I cleared my calendar and we spent the day catching up, laughing, talking and of course photographing the newest addition to the Magdalein family. He couldn't have been more perfect! Even big sister Sophia agreed that Judah was indeed a delightful baby.

I can always count on Megan and Trace for a few good laughs. Then you throw Heather (Megan's sister) in the mix and it's all over with! I wish that y'all could have seen Heather and me trying to get Gunnar and Gage's attention to make these photographs happen. I promise you that it was a sight for sore eyes. The links that we went too were hilarious. However, if someone had been video taping up and we had to watch ourselves back on film it might not be so funny. Nonetheless, we got the shots and that's what matters.

Fall season is always the busiest for family portraits. This Fall has been no exception. Who doesn't like to send out portraits at Christmas time? It's one of the greatest ways to share our families with the ones we love.

When I met up with the Cummings Family I knew there would be guys with guns. ;-) These weren't just any guns though...they were the boys grandfathers guns. Prize possessions. These boys love to hunt! It's just one of those things in the South that bonds all men. It's the way we were all raised. Us women know that come hunting season we won't see much of any of our boys. It's a religion. A passion. An obsession. They live it. Breathe it. Eat it. Sleep it. There's no getting around southern boys and their love for the woods. Lucky for Mistie she has a precious daughter to keep her company while the boys are away.

Some of my favorite memories as a young girl were made at Stricklands with all of my extended family. Summers filled with all day picnics overflowing with your typical southern comfort foods. Getting water logged from swimming in the lake all day was typical. My closest cousin and I would always float around daydreaming about how much fun our own kids would have one day coming to Stricklands on summer break. I always knew that I would have fun little excursions with my children but I often wondered where we would go? Who would be with us? I envisioned lots of big and boisterous laughter! And creating unique memories that my children would talk about when they were adults.

Most days that I resign myself to the notion that there are no little girls in my future...and I'm okay with that. But then there are those days when a little princess like Miss Charlotte sits in front of my camera and I can't help but long for one of my own. Ah, she is as sweet as my Nanny's homemade pumpkin pie. Perfection at it's finest. With her itty bitty baby features and that unmistakable newborn intonation she captured my heart in an instant!

There is a certain something special about being a high school senior. It's an earned respect from underclassmen. An undeniably cool vibe that radiates all around as you track through the halls of your high school. It's like having lunch at the cool kids table all year long. It's the end of your childhood era and an invitation to adulthood. A proclamation of independence. A year of treasured memories and great accomplishments that will follow you for the rest of your life.
