At Dickens workshops last year, Lynn McMasters inquired about me modeling a hat I had purchased from her. As the photoshoot came together she had 4 other hats for me to model! How fun!

Here is a shot she sent me showing two of the hats in one shot. This was such a fun collaboration. The Garabaldi blouse is made from this lovely patterned linen purchased down in LA the last time I attended Costume College. I had to take a full two inches off the length to fit it to my current measures as it was made right after I had my kiddo. Lynn put together the skirt to pair with the hats.

I made a dress to pair with the bonnet I had purchased and I just realized I haven’t blogged about it at all! A few shots have shown up on my facebook page only. I’ll have to rectify that shortly.

I was still stitching in the lining them afternoon before our photoshoot with Laura. I obliged Jeremy by standing in as his test subject for lighting tests.

I took an old mock-up and turned in into a sample. It is always fun to create something on a whim.

Corsets seem like an unlikely article of clothing to take underwater… they don’t flow or drape or do anything interesting themselves underwater. But the model’s body positioning which is only possible underwater and flowing hair make up for that in these fun shots.

Website update

The new website it coming along nicely. It is a lot of work to get something together that will work well on mobile devices as well. Right now we are stuck on figuring out the buttons to move between images and motions for use on touch screens.

Here I was playing with some of the images from my most recent shoot with the lovely Jezebel. I really wanted to do a site with a landscape portal but it seems more likely I’ll be sticking with portrait orientation.

New Logo design inprogress

Here is the Monogram but I sorta plan to add to this…. It will be sufficient for using as a watermark on images that are used elsewhere and as the primary logo for my company.

What do you think? I love that it is very clear, crisp but still the lovely font I adore from my original Daze of Laur Logo. My husband designed it and I’m very happy with it.

I’m gearing up for a redesign of my website. I will be shifting my business name over to Laurie Tavan and continuing to use Daze of Laur as my less formal, fun behind the scenes blog of my workroom and general musings.
