Server 2008 R2 not allowing DNS queries through DNS

While working with a customer, we had the experience of a user not being able to ping the File Server DNS name through a VPN, even though the connection to other servers did not have problems. We suspected the issue was with a filter on the Microsoft RRAS. So we reconfigured the RRAS Server for VPN but this did not change the issue. The File Server DNS could be pinged through the internal network.

Upon reviewing the File Server we noticed the Network Card stating the Internet Was not reachable. We could access the Internet without problems on the server. We reviewed the DNS server and noticed the DNS Server did not have any network cards to listen. The DNS Server showed the following:

The solution to this is:

1- Open the Command Prompt as Administrator

2- Run the following command:

dnscmd servername /ResetListenAddresses

3- Restart the DNS Server

4- Reconnect the VPN client and DNS queries to the File Server/DC will work

Networking Jack working on PC but not on network switch

Today, I was working on-site and noticed a client had a problem connecting devices to the network.
When I reviewed the jack I noticed it out of the wall and did not take care to look on the cable. The network will work on a laptop but not on a network switch or printer. I reviewed the patch panel and did not find any issue. After reviewing the cable, found what I did not expect (A miswiring ). So then I just patch the jack again and the network was working properly.

When reviewing network jacks please check the connections to make sure they are functional.

How to Add Office 365 Calendar to your Gmail Calendar

1- Go to https://login.microsoftonline.com

2- Select Exchange on the Admin Interface

3- Select Organization and then Sharing

4-Select the Edit button and add Gmail.com to the list with Full Access to Calendars

5- Click on Save

6- Go to your Calendar on office 365

7- Select Share and Send the email:

8- Open the email and copy the link with the .ics file:

9- Add the calendar to your Google Calendar removing Webcal:// and replacing it with http://URL

No he sido muy entusiasta de los productos de Windows Live (Microsoft). Pero ultimamente sus productos han dado la pena. Ahora puedo blogear y postear en mi Blog sin necesidad de ir a mi Blog. Escribo mi post desde mi PC y el Windows Live Writer se encarga de postearlo sin ningun problema.

Hola a Todos,

Haze tiempo que no escribia pero empezare!! Aqui les traigo lo ultimo de Google. Google a desarollado su nueva tecnologia. Se llama Google Drive. Puedes acceder en el siguiente URL: https://drive.google.com

Google Drive te provee de 5 GB de espacio en los servidores de Google. Puedes Sincronizar todos tus Google Docs entre tu PC y Google.

Puedes bajar la aplicacion para la PC en el siguiente URL: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/drive?pli=1#eula

La aplicacion esta tambien presente en el Play Store de Android.

Les traigo un nuevo explorador de Internet, es bien poderoso. Soporta todos los tipos de website y soporta Firefox y Internet Explorer.

Tienes dos versiones:

1- Version Lite – solo trae soporte para Internet Explorer

2- Version Premium – soporte para Mozilla Firefox e Internet Explorer

Bajar un pagina web completa

¿Quisieran bajar una pagina completa a tu pc automáticamente? Bueno aquí esta la solución. Siempre he usado linux para esto pero en el ejemplo usaremos Windows!

Lo primero que haremos es bajar WGET de este link: http://users.ugent.be/~bpuype/wget/

Luego que lo hayamos bajado hacemo lo siguiente:

Luego que lo hayas bajado abres el Command Prompt o CMD:

Aqui entonces vas al directorio que vas a bajar los archivos:

cd My Documents\Downloads en mi caso

Luego agregan el siguiente codigo para bajar la pagina que quisieran:

wget -m -k -K -E http://ibsantiago.dblstudiosonline.com

Si esto no le funciona usa el siguiente código:

wget -m -k -K -E -l 5 http://ibsantiago.dblstudiosonline.com

Así esta y pueden bajar la pagina que quisieran local..

Barra en Firefox

Desde que Firefox estaba estatico en Firefox 3.0 han pasado 5 versiones de Firefox en menos de un año. Ahora la gente se pregunta y donde esta mi barra de website. Cuando presionas F6 ya enfoca tu cursor en la barra de website en Firefox 4.0 hasta Firefox 8.0

Por default Firefox viene asi:

Cuando presionas F6 no enfoca en la barra de website. Para obtener el resultado de F6 has el siguiente cambio:

Seleccionas Bookmarks Toolbar y deshabilitas Tabs on Top. Luego comprueba que puedas usar el F6 para enfocar la direccion de Web.

System Restore Windows &

Windows 7 hasta la fecha no me ha jugado la mala tarea de Windows con su blues screens. Pero es sabido que ciertamente Windows 7 un dia te va a fallar. Aqui te tengo una herramienta que te ayudara en caso de que quieras recuperar datos que ya no tienes.

System Restore guarda los archivos en el siguiente folder = C:\System Volume. Si tratan de accesarlo no podran y obtendran lo siguiente.

Les voy a mostrar la herramienta a usar para montar la particion de system Restore.

Bajen el System Restore aquí: Download

Empieza la instalacion y sigue todo los pasos:

Corre la Aplicación:

Elige el system restore que quieres usar. Luego selecciona uno y montalo como se muestra aqui:

Despues se abrira el Explorador de Windows con el system restore point montando y puedes copiar archivos que quisieras recuperar en caso de perdida.
