The purpose of the tire is mainly to act as a cushion between the road and the car. Most of the tires available today are pneumatic, which means they are oval shaped and made of inflated wires and cords. They are mainly made from rubber and fabric. There is also inclusion of compound chemicals. However these chemicals may differ among different rubber manufacturers. While buying tires, one quickly notices whether it is performance tire or touring tire. The type required depends on the need, quality of car, terrain and other factors. Both the tires are different. Rubber machinery produces many different types of tires but its main production is performance tires, touring tires and all season tires. The different types of tires emerge due to the required needs of the drivers.

Touring tire and its features-

The different types of tire have been recently manufactured. They are not the same as other tires. This tire provides a high level of comfort which is above the regular models.

• These ties usually provide a high level of speed handling.

• They offer better and smoother ride

• These tires cannot be classified under performance tires but provide much better traction in the rain and in winter season. • They give excellent and outstanding tread wear.

These touring tires are usually found in many luxury cars, minivans and SUV’s. For high driving, these touring tires are best solution to go with. Rubber machinery has earned a lot of profit from the production of touring tires for luxury cars.

High performance tires and their features-

High performance tires are not needed in any average car. These kinds of tires are best for sport cars or else for people who do a lot of car racing. • These high performance tires have softer rubber compound than the other kinds. • The softness provides better traction quality control. For sports car, this is the most important factor. • The high performance tires have increased road contact and thus the cars go faster. One of the weakness of performance tires is that they do not last very long as people tend to work them very hard. Recently racing has become a major sport globally. Because of this rubber machinery has began to make more of performance tires in larger bulk and thus make huge revenue. Touring tire and high performance tire-

Both the tires have their own importance and have specific features. It is difficult to analyze and decide which one is better between the two. It depends upon the requirement of every individual. If one prefers for increased comfort, then he/she should opt for touring tires, where as if someone is choosing tire of high performance on high or for racing, then he/she should opt for performance tires. The pick between the two should be according the needs and requirements. Conclusion

Hence both the tires have their own importance as well as draw backs. While buying tires, one must keep all the features and requirements in their mind so that they choose accordingly.

Remaining one of the most reliable luxury brands on the market, the Lexus recently confirmed its dependable reputation by taking a J.D. Power and Associates award for customer satisfaction; the award evaluates satisfaction reports from 37,000 owners with cars over the past three years, with the 2010 Lexus line being the main focus. Lexus beat out rivals such as Porsche, Lincoln, and Mercedes-Benz to take the award, which can be largely attributed to positive responses to the most recent Lexus ES 350, the RX, the LS, and hybrid models - the latter have become a core part of Lexus’s appeal going into the future.

The entry level ES 350 joins Lexus’s IS car in providing compact executive and saloon style appeals for drivers. The ES’s particular dependability comes through its 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine, and its finely tuned suspension and mechanics, making it one of the most stable and fuel efficient cars on the road. The IS’s rear wheel drive option, which is receiving an upgrade this year to include new hybrid and 250 models, has also received praise for its long term strengths.

The Lexus RX can also be singled out for praise, if only for the fact that it remains one of the simplest luxury cars to drive, and one of the most comfortable; the RX includes a 3.5 litre V6 engine and electric motors in its hybrid version, which produces an overall emissions level of just 145 g/km; RX models can also reach 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds, and benefit from 20 per cent Benefit in Kind taxes.

In terms of the larger luxury segment of Lexus’s range, the LS 460 continues to provide value for money in terms of comfort and longevity; the LS has recently been tweaked to include new features, and a premium F Sport trim that puts the Lexus close to BMW in terms of quality - Brembo performance brakes, a V8 engine, and an eight speed automatic gearbox option defines the LS’s strengths, and put it into the same league as the Mercedes V8 and the Audi A8.

A large part of Lexus’s reliability over the past few years has, however, been down to the Japanese carmaker’s extensive investment in hybrid technology, which includes models such as the CT 200h, the GS 450h, the LS 600h L, and the RX 450h. Of these cars, the GS 450h delivers a top speed of 155 mph, and a CO2 output of 141 g/km. All models also come with a wide range of safety features and driver assists.

In this context, Lexus has recovered from a slight dip in customer satisfaction from 2008 to 2011, when there were several vehicle recalls, and has regained its reputation as a dependable staple of the luxury car market. Further improvements in terms of developing new hybrids, and the recent announcement of a new IS range, means that Lexus are entering 2013 poised to continue to challenge for the title of the safest and most satisfying luxury marque available in the current market.

In this case, it is style vs style; ability vs ability. What's more useful? in pretendland where people do more than dispklay them, the Defender is more useful - seats 9 vs 4. Interior not swallowed whol by central tunnel. Off road, the extra wide hummer has a lowe center of gravity (less tippy), but good luck squeezing through with that extra to feet of width.
If we're talking about the real world of offroad, they both lose. Why? Look at the roof. A real jack on the hummer, but neither of them has a matching spare. Fine for a day trip down forest roads where you probably won't get a blowout.. Not so great when you're out in the boonies and you have to keep your drivetrain happy when the diffs are locked.
