When U.S. House Minority Leader John Boehner told a

The Ohio Department of Transportation has OK'd 52 stimulus-funded road and bridge projects at a cost of nearly $84 million.

The Steve Pearce Legacy: Rising Debt and Limitless Hypocrisy

Steve Pearce's announcement today smacks of
the same kind of hypocrisy New Mexicans heard over and over again during his
time in Congress during the Bush Administration.

"With his reckless fiscal leadership having
helped create the problem, Steve Pearce's rhetoric about fighting for New Mexico families just
doesn't match up with reality," said Andy Stone, Western Regional Press
Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "Pearce's record
is dripping with the kind of hypocrisy that New Mexicans rejected in the last
election."

Despite all of his rhetoric about
the economy, Steve Pearce and George Bush's reckless leadership created the
economic crisis, growing the federal debt by $2.3 trillion from $3.5 trillion to
	$5.8 trillion;

Pearce talked a good game about
supporting our men and women in uniform but voted against funding for veterans'
	programs 14 times, even
	opposing a bonus for U.S.
	troops serving in Iraq and
	Afghanistan;

Pearce voted against border
security funding and agents at least seven times despite giving lip service to
	the need for border security;

Pearce hailed the decision to award
a COPS grant to the Las Cruces Police Department, but voted to slash Community
	Oriented Police Services funding; and

Pearce said he opposed privatizing
Social Security in his 2002 campaign, but then turned around and advocated for
	President Bush's risky privatization plan.

Cantor Ramps Up Hypocrisy on High Speed Rail

Republican
Minority Whip Eric
Cantor ramped up his hypocrisy on Virginia's high-speed rail today, saying he
doesn't "see any inconsistency" in supporting funding for the project, despite
voting against the funding, and excluding it from his own stimulus
proposal.

"Representative Eric Cantor not only voted against
funding high-speed rail in Virginia, he excluded it from his plan," said Jessica
Santillo, Southern Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional
Campaign Committee. "Representative Cantor's hypocritical attempts to take
credit for high-speed rail funding that he tried to kill show how out of touch
he is with Virginia's needs."

Representative Cantor's voting record and actions show
that he was a lead opponent of the economic recovery package that provided this
high-speed rail funding, and worked to defeat the measure on Capitol
Hill.

WDBJ-TV, a Roanoke television
station, refused to air a false National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC) attack
ad on Congressman Tom Perriello (VA-05). The false NRCC ad used information
about the clean energy jobs bill that the independent, nonpartisan organization
FackCheck.org called "wrong."

"The NRCC has a track record
of running ads so deceptive and misleading that local TV stations refuse to air
them or have to remove from the airwaves," said Jessica Santillo, Southern
Regional Press Secretary. "Clearly, Washington Republicans realize that the
truth is not on their side so they resort to deceptive and false attack
ads. Virginians deserve to hear the
facts about how this bill will reduce our dependence on foreign oil, not be
subject to scare tactics."

Help us catch the Republicans again the next time they fudge the numbers in
an attack on President Obama or House Democrats. Join our grassroots network of

Despite Unemployment Rates, Republicans Keeping Saying NO to Creating American Jobs

Despite today's news that George Bush's
failed economic policies are still resulting in job losses, House Republicans
continue to be the party of ‘no' and the status quo by rejecting President Obama
and House Democrats' common-sense solutions to get Americans back to
work.

Republicans said NO to saving or creating 3.5 million jobs in the
	Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Republicans said NO to creating 1.7 million jobs in the American
	Clean Energy and Security Act

Republicans said NO to creating nearly 140,000 jobs in the
21st Century Green High-Performing Public School Facilities
	Act

"Times are tough, Americans deserve more
than Republicans' no jobs and no solutions, and no progress commitment to the
status quo," said DCCC spokesperson Jennifer
Crider. "Republicans ought to roll their sleeves up and work
with President Obama and House Democrats on turning the economy
around."

We Did It!

DCCC Executive Director Jon Vogel sent the following message to DCCC supporters

Dear Friend,

From now on, there will be no doubt that President Obama has
the grassroots support he needs to bring real change to America.

Thanks to you, we didn't just meet our June 30th
grassroots fundraising goal - we shattered it by raising an astounding $1.2
million. Your astounding show of support on Tuesday alone brought in more
contributions to the DCCC than on any day since President Obama's election. We
can't thank you enough. Moreover, your contributions will be matched 2-to-1 by
House Democrats - tripling your impact.

Your support is
already driving historic change. Last Friday, the House passed the American
Clean Energy and Security Act to create jobs, fight climate change, and get
America running on clean energy.
Here is what Vice President Al Gore had to
say:

"Speaker Nancy Pelosi,
the Leadership of the House, and Chairmen Waxman and Markey have, through their
leadership, secured an important bipartisan victory for the American people. The
American Clean Energy Security (ACES) Act is one of the most important pieces of
legislation Congress will ever pass."

That's not all.
There are so many other ways that your grassroots support is having an immediate
impact:

You're helping us hold Republicans'
feet to the fire with an Independence
Day radio ad campaign highlighting the GOP's
	hypocrisy.

You're leading the charge for
historic health care reform at our Health Care Action Center.

Thousands and thousands of you have
watched our "Hope or Failure?" web video and signed
our Hope Cards showing the world that Democrats stand with President Obama. If
you haven't already done so, add your signature and send a message to
	President Obama.

But in
politics, there is no rest for the weary. National Republicans are already
launching ads attacking President Obama and our proud Democrats in Congress for
passing the landmark clean energy bill. We know that more ferocious Republican
attacks are on the way against President Obama's biggest Congressional allies so
it's critical that we stay on guard.

Thanks for helping us stand strong
against Republican obstruction and helping President Obama move
America in a New Direction.

Sincerely,

With Republican
approval ratings at all-time lows, the "party of no" has now resorted to
attacking President Obama and Congressional Democrats for saying "yes" to clean
energy jobs and fighting climate change.

	NRCC
blasting Perriello -- and Obama [POLITICO]:
The National Republican
Congressional Committee is targeting Rep. Tom Perriello (D-Va.) with a tough new
television ad attacking him for his vote in support of cap-and-trade energy
legislation - and isn't afraid to connect him to President Obama in the
	process.

Of course, Americans continue to
stand behind President Obama's vision for a clean energy economy and against
Republican obstructionists in Congress. Check out this recent
poll:

	Who do you trust
to do a better job handling the economy: Obama or the Republicans in
	Congress?

President Obama: 55%
Republicans in
	Congress: 31%

[ABC News/Washington Post,
	6/18-21]

Another swing and a miss by the
NRCC.

There are just a few hours left to deliver a huge victory
for President Obama and a devastating blow to the Republicans.

At
midnight tonight, the FEC deadline hits and we will have to report how much
money we have in the bank. As of now, we're still $43,124 away from hitting our
million dollar goal.

If we hit our goal, that means the media is gonna
judge that President Obama still has momentum on his side when it comes to
health care and everything else. If we fall short, they'll be saying that Newt
Gingrich and Sarah Palin, with the over $14 million they just raised for
Republicans, are stealing our thunder.

Contribute now to the DCCC's Million
Dollar Match* campaign. If you give by tonight's deadline, House Democrats will
chip in two bucks of their own money for every single dollar you
give.

There are just a few hours left to tell good ol' Newt and
Sarah that their fat cat money is no match for what grassroots Democrats can do.
We're just $43,124 away from hitting our million dollar goal.

Contribute now.

Senator John Kerry sent the following message to DCCC supporters:

***
Deadline Midnight tomorrow -- Only $97,484 to go. CONTRIBUTE NOW.
***

Dear Friend --

The attacks on President Obama started before he even took office, and
they've only gotten worse. Republicans, their ideas discredited, their policies
responsible for the incredible challenges we face, have stepped up their
attacks, spreading misinformation about policy proposals, and even criticizing
the President's date with his wife.

We can't afford to let up at all.
It's tough, hard fighting in Congress to make progress on getting new jobs, real
reform of our health care system, and a new energy economy, and we need everyone
to know that Democrats are not going to let up until we get the job
done.

I've seen first hand how the far right reacts when they see their
failed policies challenged. Rush Limbaugh calls for failure, and Republican
House leaders back him up. When their attacks start flying, we need to hit them
hard.

June 30th marks a critical FEC deadline
where both Republicans and Democrats must report how much money they have in the
bank. The political pundits, media and the GOP will use these totals as a
referendum on support for President Obama, and they've already started running
ridiculous stories about a GOP "comeback." We need your help to raise $1 million before June 30th to show the
world how committed we are to standing with President Obama and against those
who are rooting for him - and America - to fail.

Make your voice
heard: Contribute $5, $10 or more by Midnight on June 30th. Congressional
Democrats will match every dollar you give with two of their own.*

From our economic recovery, to health care reform, to
meeting the climate crisis, to restoring our moral leadership in the world,
there is far too much at stake. The amount we raise will be used to judge how
committed we are to standing with President Obama and his agenda for change, or
whether these Republican attacks are actually starting to work.

That's
why it's so critical that we make a strong show of support for President Obama
before June 30th.

Contribute $5, $10 or more by
Midnight on June 30th. Congressional Democrats will match every dollar you give
with two of their own to show the world how strongly we support President
Obama.*

The power to stand strong against these attacks
is in your hands.

Please help us before Midnight on June 30th.

Thanks.

Senator John Kerry

P.S. If there was ever a
doubt that the far right intends to go after President Obama with the same
dishonorable attacks they used on me, just listen to the likes of Rush Limbaugh
and Newt Gingrich rooting for our President to fail. Contribute by Midnight on June 30th
to help us fight back on behalf of President Obama. Speaker Pelosi and House
Democrats will match every dollar you give with two of their own.*

In 48 hours,
the nation will know how committed we are to helping President Obama deliver
health care reform and bring all the big changes that America needs.

That's because in just 48 hours Democrats have to report how much money
we have in the bank. The nation is watching to see what we report. They will use
that all important number to pass a judgment on whether President Obama still
has momentum on his side - or whether it's shifting back to the Republicans.

That's exactly why Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich just raised over $14
million to try and stop President Obama's momentum. We need to answer back with
the most powerful show of grassroots support in history for President Obama -
but there's just 48 hours left.

Contribute $5, $10 or more to the

rest of my House colleagues and I will match every dollar you give with two of
our own.

Your actions in the next 48 hours will make a big
difference in our fight to help President Obama pass comprehensive health care
reform.

Your strong showing already had an impact in the fight against
climate change. On Friday, the House passed an historic clean energy jobs bill.
Now let's do the same with health care.

Republicans are ready to pounce
at the first sign of weakness. We can't let that happen by falling short of our
goal. That means acting in the next 48 hours to keep momentum on President
Obama's side on health care reform and every other change he is trying to bring.

Contribute $5,
The nation is watching to
see if grassroots Democrats are ready to help President Obama bring health care
reform over the finish line this year. Let's give them their answer.

Thanks for all that you do.
Not surprisingly, he is running
into opposition from the same misguided politicians who led America into
disaster under President George W. Bush.

We need to speak up, fight back,
and give our new president the support he must have to succeed.

The DCCC
has set a goal of $1 million to raise in grassroots support before the June 30th
FEC Deadline to show the world that we are standing with President
Obama.

In the world of public affairs, the amount of money Democrats
raise will be seen as a referendum on President Obama's
leadership.

Stand with
President Obama and contribute $5, $10 or more before June 30th. Every dollar
you give, Speaker Pelosi and other House Democrats will give two dollars of
their own to show our strength.*

House Democrats are determined
to exceed their million dollar goal to show the entire world how united and
committed we are to President Obama's leadership as he moves America forward
into the future.

Although the president has been in office less than six
months, he has already made significant progress in restoring America's standing
in the world. President Obama has begun the long struggle to reclaim America's
role as a force for peace, freedom and prosperity. And, you can help him today
by contributing to the DCCC's million dollar grassroots goal.

Stand with President Obama and
contribute $5, $10 or more to the Democrats Million dollar Match* before June
30th. Every dollar you give, Speaker Pelosi and other House Democrats will give
two dollars of their own.

President Obama is the leader of his
generation. He has the capability to think in 21st Century terms. But he cannot
lead America boldly in the right direction without the support and encouragement
of Democrats like you.

Sincerely,

Madeleine K. Albright

PS: The whole world is watching. The media and Washington political
analysts will see the June 30th totals as a report card on President Obama's
leadership. Support the Democrats
Million Dollar Match* Campaign before June 30th. Remember, for every dollar you
give, speaker Pelosi and House Democrats will give two dollars of their

Breaking News: House Passes Historic Clean Energy Jobs Bill

Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent the following message to DCCC supporters:

Friend --

Today is truly a day for the history books!

A
short time ago, the House passed the historic American Clean Energy and
Security Act. In doing so, we took a monumental step to get America
running on clean energy, create millions of new jobs, strengthen our
security, and reduce pollution in the air.

This legislation was
masterfully written by two longtime champions for building a clean
energy economy in America and aggressively fighting climate change -
Chairman Henry Waxman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and
Chairman Ed Markey of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and
Global Warming.

Most of all, this victory belongs to you. It
is directly because of your grassroots support and the leadership of
President Obama that progress on climate change is indeed happening in
Washington.

Thank you for making this good news possible.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi

P.S.
Passage of our historic clean energy jobs bill is a perfect example of
the change that your grassroots support is bringing to America. With so
many other big battles ahead, President Obama and I need your urgent
support before the critical FEC deadline on Tuesday. We must show the
world our support is behind President Obama to make a strong showing. Please make a generous contribution today before the deadline to show the world you stand with President Obama.

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following
statement, congratulating Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher, who was confirmed as
Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.

"Congratulations to Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher on
becoming Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International
Security.

"Through more than 12 years of distinguished service in
the House, Congresswoman Tauscher has been an outstanding advocate for
California's 10th District and an
exceptional leader on the security challenges facing America.

"Her deep knowledge of arms control and nonproliferation
issues will be a tremendous asset to the Obama Administration in confronting
America's greatest threats around the
world."

On Climate Change, Eric Cantor Either Doesn’t Know His Facts or Is Lying

Republican Whip Eric Cantor again repeated false
"statistics" today in his continued effort to block progress on creating
millions of green jobs by moving America to a clean energy future.
Cantor has previously used the same distortions about the impact of the Clean
Energy and Security Act.

"Either Eric Cantor doesn't understand the facts about
the Clean Energy and Security Act on the House floor today or he is deliberately
misleading Americans about it," said DCCC spokeswoman Jennifer Crider. "Eric
Cantor and the Republican Party of No are so desperate to block progress on
green jobs and a clean energy future that they are resorting to falsehoods and
misleading partisan talking points."

Florida Republicans Say No to Restoring the Everglades

Today Florida Republicans Ginny Brown-Waite, Vern
Buchanan, Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Mario Diaz-Balart, Adam Putnam, Tom Rooney, C.W. Bill Young said no to long
overdue federal funds that will protect and restore the River of Grass, preserve the local economy for Floridians, and
prevent the Everglades' future destruction.

"These Florida Republicans
just said no to protecting Florida's natural treasure and one of the
world's most unique ecosystems," said Jessica Santillo, Southern Regional Press
Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "In these tough
times, Floridians need solutions to preserve the economic benefits and natural
beauty of the Everglades, but instead, Republicans continue to just say no."

Latest DCCC Ad Campaign Highlights Republican Hypocrisy on Funding for American Troops

DCCC Press:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign
Committee today announced its Independence Day Ad Campaign against House
Republicans for their hypocrisy on troop funding. When George Bush
was president, Republicans were quick to criticize anyone who voted against the
supplemental bills that fund the troops as against the troops. But now
that Republicans are trying to score political points, they have flip flopped on
troop funding.

"Republicans never hesitated to
criticize those who voted against the previous supplemental bills that included
funding for the troops, but now that they are trying to score political
points, Republicans' votes have conveniently changed. So this Independence Day,
we are going district by district to hold these hypocritical Republicans
accountable," said Jon Vogel, Executive Director of the Democratic Congressional
Campaign Committee. "The last thing our troops deserve is Republicans'
obstruction and hypocrisy."

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi sent the following message to DCCC supporters:

Dear Friend --

In a few short
days, a critical FEC quarterly fundraising deadline will hit and Democrats and
Republicans will have to show how much money they have in the bank.

The
totals will be viewed by the world as a referendum on President Obama's agenda
during a critical time when we are working hard to make change happen on
critical issues like climate change and health care.

This is the time to
act. That's why I have set a goal of $1 million in grassroots donations and I am
so committed to us making our goal by the deadline midnight Tuesday that my
Democratic colleagues and I will match* every dollar you give with $2 of our
own.

Stand with President
Obama now.

Please make a generous
contribution today before the deadline to show the world you stand with
President Obama.

Many right-wing pundits
are openly rooting for the President to fail, but we must stand strong and show
them we stand united with the President to help move America
forward.

With your continued
commitment I'm confident we'll have a record breaking showing of grassroots
support and demonstrate to the world President Obama and Congressional Democrats
have the momentum and are driving America in a New
Direction.

Contribute now and Congressional
Democrats and I will match* every dollar you give with two of our
own.

The world is watching
to see if grassroots Democrats are ready to help President Obama bring health
care reform over the finish line this year. Let's give them their
answer.

Contribute
now

Sincerely,

Nancy
Pelosi
Speaker of the House

P.S. Your generous
contribution can put the DCCC over its fundraising goal and demonstrate to the
world your commitment to President Obama's agenda for change. The world is
watching to see if the President still has wide grassroots support. Contribute
now to the DCCC Million Dollar Match*
Campaign.

Hypocrisy Schocker: Aaron Schock “Awards” COPS Funding To East Peoria That He Voted Against

In a stunning act of hypocrisy, Congressman Aaron Schock
held a press conference with members of the East Peoria Police Department to
"award" a $410,000 federal COPS Technology Grant that he voted against on the
House floor. During the event, Congressman Schock claimed "here in East Peoria, the police department, they make great
investments in their people, and it only makes sense to continue to invest in
the technology and tools they have in order to keep the citizens of East Peoria safe and police
officers safe in the line of duty."

"Opposing much needed law enforcement funding is bad
enough, but it is simply outrageous for Congressman Schock to then
hypocritically take credit for securing the very money he voted against," said
Gabby Adler, the Midwestern Regional
Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "Aaron
Schock not only misled the people of East Peoria, he lied to the faces of the men
and women of the East Peoria Police Department who put their lives on the line
every day to serve and protect the community."

"REAL
R N C" --
Rush,
Newt and
Cheney and the rest of
the right-wing fringe rooting for President Obama to fail, the world is watching
to see how we respond.

My friends at that DCCC
have set a goal of raising one million dollars before the June 30th FEC Deadline to make a show of
overwhelming force in response to these unpatriotic attacks on President Obama.
Fight back with a matching gift
today.

Speaker Pelosi and the
rest of the House Democrats are so committed to making an incredible showing
they have agreed to chip in 2 of their
dollars for every dollar you give.

Will you help stand
strong against the right-wing's attacks?

Contribute $5, $10 or more before the
June 30th deadline. For every dollar you give, Speaker Pelosi and other House
Democrats will chip in two dollars of their own.

House Democrats are
willing to match your dollars with their own money because that's how important
it is to show the world how strongly we support our Commander in Chief. The DCCC
asked me to review their battle plan for responding to these attacks on
President Obama.

They showed me the maps
of every targeted Republican district that they plan to hit back hard in. Their
plan will work - but only if you help them get it off the ground
fast.

Stand strong against the right-wing's
attacks on President Obama. Contribute $5,
$10 or more before the June 30th deadline. For every
dollar you give, Speaker Pelosi and other House Democrats will chip in two
dollars of their own.

Right now, our biggest
enemy is complacency. With Limbaugh, Gingrich, Cheney, and the rest firing on
all cylinders by attacking President Obama, the worst thing we can do is nothing
at all.

As the world
watches, help us stand strong today so President Obama and his Democratic allies
in Congress can keep bringing the change that America needs.

Sincerely,

Clark

P.S. With
the likes of Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh and others rooting for President Obama
to fail, the world is watching to see how we respond. Stand strong against these right-wing
attacks before Midnight on June 30th. For every dollar you give, Speaker Pelosi

own.

The DCCC released the following memo on Tuesday:

To:
      Interested Parties

From:
  DCCC Communications Department

Re:
Republican Approval Ratings at All Time Low

Date:
   June 23, 2009

As
recent polling makes clear, the American people
want common-sense solutions not the Republican Party of No's
obstruction, lack of ideas, and commitment to the failed policies of the
past. Republicans should stop banking on failure, roll up their sleeves,
and start working with the President and Congressional Democrats to turn the
economy around.

As NBC reported, "Buried inside all three polls is this finding: Opinions about
the Republican Party are at an all-time low. What's more, according to the
ABC/WashPo survey, Americans trust Obama more than congressional Republicans on
health care (55%-27%), the economy (55%-31%), the deficit (56%-30%), and
combating terrorism (55%-34%). To put it simply, the GOP's take on Obama's poll
numbers is a lot like the owner of a 1987 Buick pointing out the dents and
potential engine trouble of a 2008 BMW sedan."

Below
is a round up of the four most recent nonpartisan polling showing Republicans'
approval rating at an all time low.

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released
the following statement on the ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court on a central
provision of the 1965 Voting Rights Act:

"For more than 40 years, the Voting Rights
Act has made America a more perfect union by
correcting injustices of the past that prevented too many citizens from enjoying
	the full blessings of liberty.

"Today, the U.S. Supreme Court acted with
wisdom by refusing to strike down the hard work of Congress in reauthorizing the
Voting Rights Act. The court's decision today underscores the importance of
having a President, a Congress, and Supreme Court Justices who recognize the
necessity of the Voting Rights Act and will take actions necessary to safeguard
	it in the future."
But, then again if you'd told me the
Republican Party would raise over $14
million in one night in a hotel ballroom in Washington, D.C. I would have asked if you had some more
Seriously, just last week 2,000 Republican fat cats gathered in
			Washington to
gawk at Sarah Palin and listen to Newt Gingrich call President Obama a failure.
And, they ponied up millions of dollars to fuel unrelenting attacks by

			Well, they may have

Republican “Party of No” Leadership Says “No” Health Care

While Americans worry about whether they can afford to
get well, millions more wonder if they can afford regular health care to stay
well.

The average American family already pays an extra $1,100
in premiums every year for a broken system that supports 46 million uninsured
Americans. Health care premiums have risen three times faster than wages.
Rising health care costs put American companies at a competitive disadvantage in
a global economy and small businesses are being squeezed financially by
costs.

This Congress alone, the Republican Party of No has a
long record of opposing common-sense health care measures including health care
for 11 million American children, investments in Health IT, controlling health
care costs, strengthening Medicaid, regulating tobacco, life saving research,
community health centers, and providing COBRA coverage for Americans who have
lost their jobs. Republicans "answer" to the
health care crisis that is driving costs up for hardworking Americans is to
"just say no" and protect the status
quo.

Republicans' "just say no" approach doesn't help
hardworking Americans with a health care system they can afford and good choices
to keep their families healthy. We need a uniquely American solution that
builds on the best of what works, fosters competition among insurance plans, and
provides patients with quality choices.

See Republican leaders' "Just Say No" record on health
care:

HEALTH CARE FOR 11 MILLION AMERICAN
CHILDREN - Expanding the extremely popular State Children's'
Health Insurance program provides
cost-effective health coverage for four million children whose parents earn too
little to provide their own insurance, but too much to qualify for Medicaid. It
also preserves coverage for seven million children already enrolled. [HR 2, Vote #50, 2/04/09]

AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT
ACT - Investments to bring America's health care system into the
21st century with information technology, which is proven to reduce costs,
increase quality, and save lives. Modernizing America's health care system will
also create hundreds of thousands of jobs. The Recovery Act protects healthcare
coverage for millions through Medicaid and millions more who have lost their
jobs in this recession by providing up to 9 months of subsidized COBRA health
insurance continuation coverage. It also invests $10 million in the National
Institutes of Health and provides $1 billion for a new Prevention and Wellness
Fund. [Vote #70, 3/31/09]

FDA REGULATION OF
TOBACCO - Authorizes the Food and Drug Administration to
regulate the advertising, marketing, and manufacturing of tobacco products.
Smoking is the number-one cause of preventable death in America
and 1,000 children become new, regular smokers each day. [HR 1256, Vote #335,
6/12/09]

OMNIBUS APPROPRIATIONS
ACT - Invests $30.3 billion for National Institutes of Health
to conduct lifesaving research into diseases such as Alzheimer's, cancer and
diabetes, $6.6 billion for the public health programs administered by Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention, and $2.2 billion for Community Health
Centers that will provide an additional 470,000 uninsured Americans with access
to care. [HR 1105, Vote #86,
2/25/09]

SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS
BILL - Invests $2 billion to help the government fight the
current H1N1 outbreak and to allow for further pandemic flu preparedness and
response capacity.

We wanted to send a special thank you to the thousands of
dedicated Democrats like you who entered for a chance to join President Obama
and me in Washington, D.C. I want to congratulate Lola from California who was
chosen as our lucky winner.

Your inspiring generosity and
unwavering commitment will help us being about the much-needed change that our
country deserves.

Unfortunately, not everyone shares
our ideals.

On
Monday night, former Speaker Newt Gingrich stood in front of 2,000 corporate
power brokers and other well-heeled Republican campaign contributors and
proclaimed that President Obama has "already failed" in his mission of bringing
change to America.

Well, you and I know President
Obama has not failed. Far from it.

That's why I want you to join with me in a show
of support for President Obama. Sign our "Hope Card" >>

Gingrich's appearance brought in
more than $14 million for Republican efforts to oppose President Obama's
agenda. Gingrich has joined other Republican Party leaders such as Rush
Limbaugh in their hope the President fails in his effort to bring change to
Washington.

We all know our tireless efforts
to rebuild our economy, reform health care, strengthen American security and
tackle climate change have to overcome the Republican Party of No, which
determined to obstruct and undermine the President's agenda and hold America
back.

Democrats reject Republican
calls to return to the failed policies of the past. We stand with President
Obama as we look to a brighter, more hopeful and prosperous future.

That's why
I want you to join with me in a show of support for President Obama. Sign our
"Hope Card" >>

You have done so much to strengthen the Democratic Party and move America in
a New Direction. I can't thank you enough.

But now I need you to sign our "Hope Card" and then forward it to five of your
friends so they can sign it as well.

Thank you for your continuing commitment.

Best Regards,

Another desperate attack:

The No. 2 Republican in the House on Thursday compared President
Barack Obama's plans for the auto industry to the policies of Russian
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin [...] "It's almost like looking at Putin's Russia," added Cantor, the GOP's House whip.

DCCC
Chairman Chris Van Hollen released
the following statement:

"When Republicans have no ideas and no leadership, they
resort to personal attacks and bank on failure. It's no wonder that recent
polling shows that one-third of Republicans hold an unfavorable view of their
own party. Republicans should stop the name-calling, roll up their sleeves, and start working with the
President and Congressional Democrats to turn the economy
	around."

Mark Kirk to China: Don’t Trust America

Has Congressman Mark Kirk forgotten his responsibility
to support and defend the United States? In repeated public
statements, Congressman Kirk outrageously admitted to going to
China and telling foreign investors
to not believe the United States Government.

"After helping get us into this current economic crisis by supporting
President Bush's failed economic policies, Congressman Mark Kirk went to
China and told Chinese officials that the American government was not to be trusted, said Ryan Rudominer, National Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
"Congressman Kirk's questioning of America while representing our government in
China is incredibly irresponsible and endangers the American economy. These are serious times, Congressman Kirk needs to get serious about his support of the American economy, especially when Kirk is representing his country in China."

According to the Straits
Times, Congressman Mark Kirk mentioned in a speech at the Center for
Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank, that he told Chinese
officials "the budget numbers that the U.S.
Government had put forward should not be believed."
