When I did chemotherapy in 1992 the term was not used, at least not that I heard.
It fits, and I believe it to be a real side effect factor to be considered and dealt with. Almost as soon as I started my chemotherapy this was one of the first side effects I noticed. It was like living in a fog.
I have always wondered if my short term memory is worse than it would have naturally been if I had not taken chemotherapy?

One thing I have learned is how to clear the room any time I want. 5 words, that’s all it takes. And here is how to accomplish this unbelievable feat.

Just get in the room with the kids. Listen carefully (but not obviously) to the conversations you hear. And yes I said conversations, that’s plural, because where there are teenagers there are multiple conversations taking place at one time. When you hear something that you can relate to as a youth, just say the magic phrase.

“When I was your age…..”

That’s it, no need to even finish the sentence, the kids will roll their eyes and quickly make an exit. Usually while taunting me with, “yeah, yeah, we know, you walked to school in the snow uphill both ways and were thankful”

Well, I did.

But, if the scratch is just a basic scratch from the case, or putting in and out of your DVD player it is really not hard to fix.

There are a lot of DVD Scratch Repair kits available on the market, however, I have had the best results just using a dab of a light was and a lint free cloth. I have tried all kinds of waxes for this, from furniture polish type to car wax. Just make sure to use a very small amount of the wax and gently rub the DVD with the cloth, and buff of the residue.

This may not be the most sophisticated DVD scratch repair, but it has worked great for me.

Going from home repairs to car repairs to all kinds of miscellaneous projects. But I love it. I guess part of it is my love for learning new things, and part of it is me just being cheap, lol.

This weekend I am going to attempt to lay ceramic tile in the upstairs bathroom and do a break job on my truck. I decided I better do the tile first since it is the cleaner job, and also the one my wife as been waiting for the longest.

One of the new tools I use for all my DIY stuff is YouTube. There is probably a video for every type of job you can imagine. And whether I know how to do a job or not I love to watch a few YouTube videos first. If nothing else I might pick up something good or bad I did not see in the past.

Here is one I thought was cool on laying ceramic tile, in fast forward !

I have 2 teenagers and their list of things to do just keeps shrinking almost daily. About the only thing that they have to do is go to the movies or go swimming at Ross Barnett Reservoir. So let’s see, go see a movie, or go swimming where there are alligators? What a choice.

And the reason? Well, from my perspective it is apathy. People here say they want this or that, but when it comes time to put their money (or time) where their mouth is, the buck stops.

It’s hard to believe this is a Capitol City when you can not even support a skating rink or a Starbucks.

Currently I own 2 vehicles, a large family car and a pickup truck. I have always considered a pickup truck a necessity. Even if it is not driven daily, every man needs a pickup truck. However, with the price of fuel it is time to go back to a more fuel efficient car, and since I do not want any payments the only option is to find a good used fuel efficient car.

The car of choice for me is an old Volkswagen Beetle, the downside is that the Beetle was never a great car when it comes to air conditioning. This is not that big of a deal for me, but not sure my family would appreciate it too much. The other option is to go a little farther back in time since I am an old school kind of mechanic. I had a 1975 Ford Maverick that was just right for me, but it was totaled during Katrina. Now if I could find something like that again it would be great. Of course finding an antique car at a good price, that is a real trick these days.

I have located a couple used panels and I am going to do some research and testing to see how hard it will be to do something that can actually impact the costs of power.

I am also looking for an old Volkswagen Beetle. Not one of the new ones, but the good old classic rear engine type. I have had a couple in the past and they were the best cars I ever owned when it came to fuel mileage and how easy they were to work on.

I always thought that online courses would be easier than classroom, but now I am not sure that is actually true. In a classroom things can vary depending on instructors, moods and a host of other outside factors. Online classes do not vary.

Now I have to start studying for the Mississippi Real Estate License exam.
