One of my favorite steps in a website redesign process is helping to create a new menu structure. Even the most entertaining and interactive websites must have substance to them - a solid reason for visiting. Menu structures give reason, provide an architecture for information dissemination and a hierarchy with intuitive organization.

Websites with search engine optimization copywriting far too often integrate the copy in a hidden manner - not directly visible to a user coming into the site from a home page, but if landed on from a search engine gives the user easy access to top level information. I find the challenge lies in merging search patterns with top level information.

When the website developers at DDA embark on creating a new menu structure, they take into account your products or services, target audience, and take-home message. Then, after keyword research is conducted, they weave appropriate and competitive terms and topics into the site architecture. The end result is a website that gives searchers what they seek and conveys a very strong message on why they should invest their hard-earned time and money into your business.

The other day, I read a statement made in a forum that caught my attention and got me thinking. The statement was, “Everybody knows that the more standardized you are and the more you buy off-the-shelf, the more cost effective it will be for both implementation and on-going maintenance.” The word, “standardized” struck the biggest nerve with me. “Standard” is synonymous with “normal.” Who really wants to be normal? What is normal anyways? When did the wonderful wizard in the land of oz set these standards? If you deviate from normal or standard does that make you abnormal and substandard, or unique and innovative?

I conquer that in some IT instances off-the-shelf solutions may meet a need or a few at a reasonable cost, but just as off-the-shelf is limited in its capabilities, it has limitations to its applications. Off-the-shelf doesn’t work when you’re trying to establish differentiators between your organization and that of your competition. In promotional terms, off-the-shelf isn’t part of the repertoire. It’s high time we rethink “standard.” Perhaps that which is standard is in fact substandard.

At Dynamic Digital Advertising (DDA), we’re proud to say that everything we do is custom! From an anatomical hand-drawn illustration to an interactive website and beyond, the graphic design, programming, copywriting, animation, video, and more is done in a way that creates an end product unlike any other. Plus, we can develop administrative back-end systems that enable you to manage on-going maintenance in effective and pragmatic ways. DDA doesn’t make you fit into a set mold; rather you are the mold.

Just as there was a slow progression of companies to migrate online with more than template websites, companies are now slowly adopting the mobile marketplace. Whether there is a need to convert an existing website to smartphone and tablet formats, or there is a desire to create an interactive mobile application to be sold in iTunes, DDA does it all.

Whereas a few years ago, going mobile was thought of almost in the aftermath of a new website design, promotional video, or instructional animation, the topic is addressed at onset at DDA. We want you to think about the mobile application of your projects, so that they have longevity and value as your consumers make their first major mobile device purchase or continue to upgrade their device to the latest and greatest.

At DDA, we’ll develop creative ways to help you maximize the smaller screen size and touch navigation of smartphones and tablets. Plus, we’ll provide assistance through the Apple submission and approval process. As you join the mobile migration, consider the expertise and experience behind DDA’s mobile and application development. Our team will help propel your company to the forefront of the mobile pack.

Award-winning graphic design, powerful search engine optimization, persuasive copywriting, intuitive navigation, secure hosting; all of these are valid reasons why clients choose Dynamic Digital Advertising (DDA) for their website design and development projects. I find that the biggest benefit we have to offer our clients is the ability to take their website in any direction they wish, to expand and grow the website over time, improve its functionality and capability, and provide conversion strategies for the latest mobile devices.

Unlike template-building website companies where their services are once and done, DDA’s work is completely custom and because we are staffed with professional animators, illustrators, designers, writers, programmers, videographers, photographers, and search marketing experts, we’re able to turn dreams into reality time after time. Most of our clients rely on us long term to evolve their website, whether it is to add entertainment value through a spokesperson video or instructional animation, or to provide greater utility through online forms or administrative back-end systems. With DDA, you get more than a website, you receive a powerful marketing tool that can grow and strengthen your business in ways you never before thought possible.

Far too often, I come across a script that was written by a client to be read, not spoken; see a sign along my commute with featured words or phrases blatantly misspelled; or receive an email blast with copy that turns off a reader faster than the email took to land in my inbox. As a professional writer, I admit that I am subjective on the subject of copywriting. One would assume that I would automatically cringe at the sight of misspellings, bad grammar, and poor copy. This is one assumption that is indeed correct. I argue, however, that as we are all part of an advanced and intelligent society, all of us should take a stand against these violations of the English language. Newsflash, not everyone is a “writer.” Accepting this is the first step.

Brace yourself as step two requires you to do a little work. Spend some time searching for degreed copywriters who have a writing style that will resonate with your target audience. Ask to see a sample of their writing. Put their writing to the test on a small project. Then, if a positive impact has been achieved, utilize the copywriter for all of your external communications so that a consistent tone is conveyed across all media types. At Dynamic Digital Advertising, we are staffed with a team of four degreed copywriters who come from a variety of backgrounds and each possess a unique style. Our copywriting services are affordable and the work we output is creative, smart, and high quality. Put us to the test on your next marketing project. We’re sure to pass with flying colors!

Quick Response Codes (QRCs), mobile applications, virtual browsers, augmented reality; innovative ideas are surely taking off in the digital fast-paced world we live in. Yes, these ideas are cool, but “cool” isn’t always enough to sell savvy consumers. These marketing tactics need to be backed by substance and intelligence to be successfull. Aside from a web shortcut, what’s the value in a QRC that takes a smartphone user to a website? Rather, a QRC displayed on the packaging of a product that takes a smartphone user to a video in which he/she can listen to and watch the product in action is a QRC that can actually give a consumer confidence in making a smart buying decision.

Finding value in today’s technologies is only one side of the coin; using technologies in meaningful ways is the other. At DDA, we develop smart marketing strategies that provide the end user with more than the cool factor, but something that has a profoundly positive impact or provides a utility the end user will never again live without.

DDA EPIC is a new site to show off a nice selection of our projects and highlight some of our services. It will be launching soon as long as all goes well with the last steps. EPIC is the latest name that stands for something. “Engage. Produce. Innovate. Challenge.” This seems to be a theme with most things we make for ourselves. Just ask DDA SEM, DDA CMT, DDA VMS, DDA APPS, and DDA USA. You down with OPP, yea you know me. In addition to those sites, we have made many other interesting DDA sites and projects that are worth checking out. There is DDA Medical, DDA Video, AppleSavvy, Insideout Man, DDA Carnival, DDA Coffee, Universal Portfolio, DDA GRID, DDA in 60 Seconds, DDA at Work, YouBetMyLife, Power Pyramid, and probably some other ventures I am forgetting. I had a hand in constructing almost all of these sites and looking back I have made a ton of stuff. Seeing as the projects I just listed were just for DDA and doesn’t include any client work, I can only imagine how many client projects I have worked on in the past 5 years. Who knows what DDA will end up making in the next 5 years…

So if you haven’t done so yet, check out some of the DDA sites I listed. Take it nice and slow or you might get overwhelmed with all of the content. There is a lot to look at there and you could easily spend your whole weekend sorting through it all. You’ll see examples of all of our services in practice like 3D animation, database programming, graphic design, copywriting, video editing, digital photography, and much more. Once you’ve had your fill you can move right along to giving us a call or visit to see what we can do for you.

If anyone has been watching or following The Daily Show or The Colbert Report, then you probably have heard about Colbert’s run for office in South Carolina and the transfer of his Super PAC funds to Jon Stewart. Even though it may seem like a mockery of the electoral system, it is actually meant to show what a mockery the rules for campaigning are in this country currently. As funny as what they are doing may seem, it is all legal. A Super PAC allows endless anonymous donations from individuals or corporations. These Super PACs can then distribute funds and run ads for whatever they want, so long as they do not collaborate with the person they are running the ads in support of. Every campaigner has one of these Super PACs loaded with money. The rest of the rules are pretty hard to enforce seriously as Colbert and Stewart have brought to light. It would be quite easy to steer the Super PACs in a certain direction without there being any evidence of doing so. When you find out who runs the Super PACs for these candidates you can see that these people are anything but strangers. So just like Colbert and Stewart who frequently see each other and talk, these candidates frequently will see each other and talk. They just can’t be caught obviously “coordinating” on how the anonymously donated funds should be used. The penalty for this though would only be a four to five figure fine, which could be paid for out of the Super PAC. You can’t make this stuff up.

At least at DDA everything can stay on the straight and narrow. There is no need for deceit or secrets here. In fact we are constantly showing clients work and getting their approval on items before moving on. This way we can be assured that everyone is going to be happy with the final product when it is finished. What could be a better way to end a project than to have everyone happy? No matter what the project is, this is how we operate. It could be 3D animation, graphic design, flash animation, copywriting, video editing, digital photography, or one of our other numerous services. No matter what digital item you need, we can make it for you and we can all end on a happy note. So give us a call or visit and see what we can do for you.

So here at DDA, we do a lot of our work with the Adobe Suite. Just today I noticed that I had Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop all open at the same time, creating a nice little rainbow of colors in my taskbar. While I was in college, we didn’t use it as much as we probably should have. I’ve always known how well each program works with one another, but it wasn’t until I started here at DDA did I really begin to grasp these programs’ powers in regard to their interchangeability with one another.

You can start a movie project in Premiere, add a Photoshop image into that movie and update the picture through photoshop. Once you save your new image in Photoshop, your image is now changed in Premiere as well. The same can be said with all their programs. Make a change to a picture and your website now has that change, almost instantly.

Our workflow for clients here at DDA is very similar. Let’s say you need a website built. We can seamlessly add new pictures to your site if you need to, anytime you need it. We can incorporate video you provide us, or we can shoot and edit footage for you to be implemented into your page. If you can imagine it, we can produce it.

Well we went from super cold and frosty to kind of cold and rainy in just a day. The fact that we are still getting rain instead of snow in mid-January is clear evidence that this is a mild winter. I’m perfectly fine with a mild winter this year since we really got hammered last year and also had that brief November blizzard this year. My shoveling skills could use a year off. My family had to go through a 6 day power outage earlier this year after the storm brought down trees all over the place. That experience of not having power was the most miserable thing and made me appreciate electricity and running water so much more. I was thrilled to have running water and lights when I got to work, but dreaded going back home at night where I had to live and move by flashlight and candlelight. We really didn’t have much entertainment other than board games and books, but reading in poor light really bothered my eyes. It was a long time without power but it felt even longer.

DDA is in a business area so it gets some priority in power restoration situations. Only once can I think of a time when we lost power for so long that we had to leave. Even then it kept teasing us by coming on briefly and going back out. Since we are such a digitally focused company we do virtually everything on the computer. We do things like digital photography, 3D animation, flash animation, copywriting, SEM, advanced programming, video editing, and more. Check out one of our numerous portfolios to get a sense of the work we can do. Then, give us a call or visit and see what we can do for you.
