Summary

The late great Ahmed Zaki plays the late Egyptian president Anwar El-Sadat, from the days where he was a military officer being discharged for assassinating English associates during the English occupation on Egypt. We see Sadat as he joins the Egyptian revolutionists known as the 'Free Soldiers' and his relationship with young Jihan (Mona Zaki). We also view Sadat as he becomes the president of Egypt after the death of late president Gamal Abdel Nasser, and charging the Armed forces to retrieve the land of Sinai from the Israelis in the 1973 war. Sadat has struggled to clear Egypt from communists and to spread peace around the world, winning the Nobel prize in 1971. Till his unfortunate assassination in 1981, Sadat shook the world.

My take

Unfortunately, Sadat turned into a traitor at the end. This is not critically enough explored in the film as it depends for its storyline on Sadat's own autobiography. It's hardly likely that Sadat would have been self-critical enough to recount his failures in that book - and he wan't. The film at least mentions that 1250 eminent people were arrested after the disgraceful accommodation with the Zionist Entity and gives Sadat's rationale for this. For a truer account than Sadat's book of the end of his reign, see Nawal al-Sa'adawi's memoir "Life in the Women's Prison". That such an eminent authoress and freedom campaigner should be in prison at all, says volumes on the deterioration in the state of Egypt's polity in the sunset years of Sadat. That she was not the only prominent and well-known international campaigner incarcerated, says even more. And what was it all for? A traitor's agreement with the Zionist Entity that abandoned the Palestinians and gained back the Sinai for Egypt, which she could've taken for herself with sufficient preparation, as she had taken part back in the Yom Kippur War.

Of course, Sadat planned, with his generals, that really brilliant attack on the Zionist Entity to regain lands that the Entity had stolen after its war of aggression in 1967. The situation had become impossible - the Zionists, in their usual cavalier way, were ignoring international law and "settling" the Sinai (actually colonising it) in the same way that they have colonised the West Bank for the past 40 or more years, as well as exploiting the mineral resources, including Egypt's only oilfields, which the Zionists, in their greed, had accelerated the production of in the hopes of eventually returning an empty resource to Egypt. Nonetheless, for political reasons (to take pressure off Syria), Sadat nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by ordering his forces to extend themselves from under the safety umbrella of the anti-aircraft protction.

There was not to be any further move against the Zionist Entity. Instead, as a traitor to the Arab cause and in receipt of a yearly bribe from the USI for Egypt of $3billions, he went to al-Quds "to make peace" with the Zionists - something which is impossible to do. An example is the case of the town of Yamit, which had been developed by the Zionists. Incredibly, the Zionists asked for and got $80,000,000 for having built this town (on stolen land, as is the case of Zionist colonies on the West Bank) - but did they pay Egypt back for the oil they had stolen from Egypt's reserves? No, of course not! Just as incredibly, once they safely had the money, the Zionists razed the town to the ground, completely destroying everything but the synagogue! A similar thing happened with the town of Quneitra, a Syrian town, which was returned to peace-loving Syria as part of a disengagement procedure. No one thought to stipulate that the town be returned as a viable concern - the Zionists gleefully noted the omission and destroyed this town too (even though there wasn't the "excuse" of their having built it, as at Yamit), carting off anything that could be sold (bath fittings, copper wire and white goods, for example) and blowing up the houses, infrastructure and the sewage and water supplies. The town proved impossible to rebuild, so thoroughly had they done their job. These actions alone, as well as the long-term Zionist occupation of S Lebanon until the patriots of Hezbollah drove them out, as well as the illegal attacks on Lebanon and Gaza within the past 3 years and the continual theft of Palestinian land should show that no peace is possible with such a "country".

So cheaply were the Palestinians and the other Arabs sold out. The rest of Sadat's reign was marked by corruption on a grand scale, repression and terrorising of the Egyptian population if any dared demand democracy or rights. It culminated in such desperation in Egypt that Sadat was assassinated, as is shown in the film. His colourless and charisma-free successor was greeted as a saviour by the Egyptians. Unfortunately, he has become a worse traitor than Sadat ever was, kowtowing to the USI and the Zionist Entity for Egypt's begging bowl and happily implementing pro-Zionist policies against the Palestinians, such as the wall between Gaza and Egypt that he is causing to be built. It's a waste of time, of course, as Hamas showed last year, when they blew up part of the existing barrier, thus enabling the population to cross back and forth for a week and get much-needed supplies, breaking the illegal Zionist blockade.

So, in the result, should we watch the film? In a word, yes. It's still an important film in terms of the way a portion of Egyptian society sees itself and one of its own members who benefited it. And, watched with a pinch of salt and a dose of scepticism, as well as reading between the lines, true history can be glimpsed in the earth-shattering events recounted in the film. Lastly, the performance of the late Ahmed Zaki, one of Egypt's most taleted actors, has to be seen to be believed. He has managed to capture the diction of Sadat as well as his mannerisms. It is a truly momentous performance. A flawed but worthwhile film.

They work as artists, stage designers, film directors. But they still use their education, working as the painters and designers for artistic and public places.

By virtue of told, and also, taking in account a certain experience of AKHE group in the field of fine art, it is appropriate to speak about the group, as about Optical Theatre or Russian Engineering Theatre. AKHE uses scenic ( ideal ) Space including again (ideal) Light and Sound and consider themselves only as Operators. In this case the Space is one of the main characters of the show.

The space mastered by the Operators is valuable and sufficient itself. Without ignorance of the real Theatre laws, but admiring its Signs, AKHE substitutes with desire: dramatic art ( drama ) by logic development of images and situations, rehearsals by zombeing themselves and psychological play by dependence on elementary physical laws."

The story begins with a group of 3 male friends, still studying at university. They met 3 girls. Salah was serious in his love with Semiha while the other 2 guys were just having fun. After few month Semiha told Salah that a person want to marry her. Salah asked her to refuse , but she told him that this person is a doctor and rich, she can't tell her parent that she meets a guy. Finally she got married to that doctor while Salah went to a bar and got drunken until he toxicated. He was transferred to hospital, in which the doctor who married Samiha works. The hospital asked that doctor to return from honeymoon to cure Salah. After Salah cured he become a friend of that doctor.

After some years Salah met Semiha with his husband. He tried to remind her and attract her. Finally he got married. While he told his wife that it is better that every one to have his own room because he sores while sleeping. While he was thinking and dreaming of Semiha,Thinking that she was sleeping on the empty pillow beside him.

When his wife became pregnant , the she became in labour, he fell that he must think in her. The film ends when he think of his wife sleeping on the empty pillow.

The Chateau is a trifle, yet it may stick in your head. Paul Rudd and Romany Malco play two American brothers, Graham and Allen, who inherit an enormous French chateau when their hitherto unknown great-uncle dies. The bickering pair, equipped with only a smattering of French, soon discover that the chateau is hugely in debt and the servants don't want to leave. While trying to sell the place, they vie for the affections of a sweet maid (Sylvie Testud) and comically grapple with cultural differences. The Chateau has a bit of social satire, some deft character portraits, and some very funny mangled French. Rudd and Malco banter entertainingly; Rudd is particularly good, both funny and a little sad as Graham flails to find a new life that he didn't fully realize he wanted. Though slight, the movie has surprising moments that cut deeper than you'd expect.

Review:
Werner Herzog takes his camera to Antarctica where we meet the odd men and women who have dedicated their lives to furthering the cause of science in treacherous conditions. A scientist studies neutrinos, which are everywhere, yet elusive; he likens them to spirits. A researcher's nighttime performance art includes contorting her body into a luggage bag. A survival guide teaches his students to survive white-out conditions by wearing cartoon-face buckets over their heads. Animal researchers milk mother seals as part of their study. Volcanologists offer advice on what to do when a volcano erupts. A pipefitter shows us the anomaly in his hands that he says are a sign he descended from Atzec royalty. A former Colorado banker drives what he has christened Ivan the Terra Bus. An underwater diver shows his colleagues DVDs of apocalyptic sci-fi films like Them! (1954). And -- though Herzog declares he's not "making another film about penguins" -- we meet a penguin researcher who answers the filmmaker's questions about homosexuality and insanity in his subjects. We also meet an individualist penguin, who breaks away from the other birds to run toward the mountains, facing certain death.
