Kaspersky Internet Security has been  undoubtedly one of  the best if not the best internet security solutions available. I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and I am pretty confident to say that it was by far the most reliable and safest anivirus/ internet security application that I ever came across. Although I haven’t used Kaspersky Internet Security/ antivirus 2010 as my 1 year Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 liscence haven’t expired yet but when it does I am 100% sure to move to Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. The pricing at $59.95 for 1 year single user seems pretty decent too & 1 year single user license for Kaspersky anivirus 2010 will cost you around $ 39.95 which also seems pretty fair too. A few hours ago Mozilla launched their new updated version of Firefox, Firefox 3.5. This is the first major Firefox update to be released this year. The new mozilla Firefox 3.5 is cooler, faster and easier to use like never before. The major updated feature worth mentioning will be the addition of support for open video formats, allowing movies, video clips to become part of today’s dynamic web pages without requiring a plug-in. The major updates are listed below:-

I have used it for a 1 or 1.5 hrs now although it is visually the same firefox 3 but the browsing seems to be more faster and seems to a lot stable while I am working with multiple tabs. VLC – one of the most popular cross-platform portable media player has recently received an major update when the VideoLAN team launched VLC media player 0.9.9 and VLC media player 0.9.9a for Mac OS X. According to developers the update will offer improved performance and support for more new formats.

The standard update for windows fixes some minor bugs some of which are enlisted below :-

• fullscreen behaviour on Windows with multiple screens,
• workaround bug with libxml2 >=2.7.3,
• video performance on Intel-based Macs,
• various decoders updates on Windows.

Also an experimental native decoder for Real Video 3.0 & 4.0 using FFmpeg has been added which according to the VideoLAN team should really improve Real Media Files support on all platforms.

Here is a great news for all the zombie slayers out there Valve is making Left 4 Dead available to all PC users via steam for a free 24-hour trial this Friday (1st may) starting at 12:01AM GM. Another great news is that free trial will include access to the recently released Survival Pack DLC which is awesome. The DLC adds a new multiplayer game mode and two new additional Versus campaigns. If you love killing mindless zombies for hours without any reason this could be possibly the best Friday of your life. If you haven’t brought this great game already give it a go tomorrow for free and I am sure  you will wanna buy it.

2 days ago Bethesda released the 1.5 patch for Fallout 3. This is a standard update for Fallout 3 which will fix some minor bugs and glitches and adds new achievements for Broken Steel, the upcoming DLC for Fallout 3. The patch is about 50 mb for both PC and XBOX360 versions and you can grab it from Bethesda’s download section. The patch notes are:

I remember not so long ago posting the release of 1.4 patch for crysis wars.  Well crytek today released the 1.5 patch for crysis wars along with and Mod SDK Package. The 1.5 patch comes with a number of gameplay improvements and fixes that really improve stability and remove most of the the known exploits. In addition to this a new map Ruins was also released. A couple of weeks a ago the official 1.01a patch for Mass Effect was released. The patch fixes some major hardware issues and bugs making the game a lot more stable and also added some infrastructure support for additional downloadable content. If you haven’t heard it already Battlefield Heroes is the first Play for Free online shooter from EA for PC. The game looks like similar to Team fortress apart from the fact that it will be a third person shooter. The game will allow you to create, customize and level up your own war unique hero. Then take them into battle against other players of your skill level. Use your special abilities to destroy the enemy, or support your friends. Although the the official release of Battlefield Heroes has been delayed until later this year still EA is giving away We’ll be giving away 100,000 beta keys which is great for us. To get the beta key here is what you have to do-

1. You can either enlist yourself via gamespot.

2. Or you can create a EA account and once done sign in to your EA account and once you are logged in, head over to the sign-up form fill it up submit it and get yourself enlisted and probably you will receive your key via E-mail by the next day. I recommend you to get yourself a EA account if you don’t already have as most probably you will need one to play the game.

Radical Software earlier yesterday launched the latest updated version of their unique multimedia browser Wyzo with the release of version Wyzo 3. Wyzo have been around for a fair amount of time now and with its innovative and interesting feature it has caught my attention. Apart from standard web surfing, It can accelerate your web downloads, it offers BitTorrent Integration which will let you download torrents with a single click, discover media in your browse. Another thing here worth mentioning will be that it is s built upon the latest Mozilla technologies which should make it reliable and stable enough.

Even though the browser looks and fells very catchy but it can not replace firefox as my primary web browser. Currently it only supports windows and Mac OSX. There are other similar browsers like Opera which also supports bittorrent integration but seriously nothing can ever replace the need of a dedicated bittorrent client. For people who download a lot of stuff using bittorrents you may like to give Wyzo 3 a go.
