X-Men Hiatus

Well stupid me I didn't go get a flu shot. My fiancée came down with either a stomach virus or the flue and I caught it.

For the past couple of days Ive been running a high fever and feel completely like crap. Yet I still think about creating sim things. Crazy obsessions.

Anyway I managed to get Nightcrawler done before I got sick. He just needs some tweaking. When I feel better I'm starting Wolverine.

Gambit is my all time 100% favorite character. I put alot of tender long an care into him. Even did his eyes and a customish mesh. And yeah...you know that is why the ladies love him and men hate him. *wink wink*

I finished up his mask. Im uploading him to the site soon.

The Great Debate

Paysites, donations. It's been a debate since the Sims 1, but now it's getting heated.

I don't get my hosting for free. I host the site from my own pocket, which has worn very thin over the years but the site manages to stay up.

Originally Dead Metal Simming was a geocities site with files hosted on file planet (you guys remember them? Back before they outlawed sim site file hosting). The site kept exceeding bandwidth and I was getting frustrated. I was looking for a cheap solution. By chance a friend of mines mother had her credit card stolen and the person bought a godaddy account (stupid thing to buy with a stolen card if you ask me). They asked if I knew wtf that was, I didn't so I looked it up. Found they offered really cheap hosting and viola, deadmetalsimming.us was born (by the way .us was cheapest lol).

When the site went live I put up on the front page, "This is it, I am never going to upgrade to more bandwidth, but I am never going to go pay either."

I don't break vows either. If it ever comes down to me not being able to afford the renewal, Ill just take the site down until I can.

That's not saying I hate paysites. I was a subscriber to 8ds since TS1. Ive also donated to other sites. I don't do it to get the objects so much as I think what they do is so good they deserve my money. Back when I had some to donate anyway lol.

Then we have The Booty.

That is a touchy subject to allot of people. The concept is good but some the targets I question. Namely those starting with an Nu. When I revolt against something, I make sure the people I revolt against are the bad guys. Not a guy who has given pretty much everything he did for free.

Don't f*ck over the good guys, or we wont have any left.

Yay my finals are done with and I have time to work more on DMS.

I have a ton of ideas I want to get done before classes start back up, including getting alot of my X-Men project taken care of.

I got a new spiffy assed card. I have been saving up for this card, waiting for it, loving it, for half a year. I get it. Put it in. Install the crap. It screws up my computer.

What happend? My computer got stuck in a bootloop (is that what it's called? I have no friggin idea, Im a self taught comp bulider so I have my own names). It would go to load windows, then reboot. A friend of mine said he installed a piece of hardwear and had the same thing happen to him. He said the only way he could fix it was to reinstall windows.

Id like to mention at this point I had not back up alot of files in awhile....

After alot of begging an crying my compter finally let me in to windows in safe mode. I was able to move the x-men projects I was working on into my other hard drive (DEAR GODDESS EVERYONE NEEDS A BACKUP HARD DRIVE AND YES I AM TYPING THIS IN CAPS FOR A REASON meh). I lost alot of stuff that I didnt think to friggin put onto the hard drive. I lost the password for the other blog (see link enclosed) and have not been able to link it to the account I am on now. I was able to find blogs from 8 years ago but not any ablity to link deadmetalblogging to my account. I am also locked out of my yahoo account untill further notice.

If you read the other blog youd notice its been going very craptastic for me lately...
