A while ago, I got invited to collaborate on the next issue of Glitch. Honoured as I was, I created a series of black & white bitmaps called Lapsus Apparatus. Generated stories were also gathered.

Glitch 3 is published! Thanks to the amazing work of curator Vadim Gershman. It features work from several artists, writers and poets, all created around the theme ‘Connection Time-Out’. You can see a sneak preview of the gorgeous full-color book and order it online.

“These days, now has won, now as one.”

This piece gathers & glitches images found at twitpic – todays visual hive mind.
Snapshots combined into little stories. Much like in the old days, when a camera
sometimes winded partially, overlapping different exposures.

If you encounter interesting combinations, please take screenshots, upload them
and send/post links. I’ll add them.

After getting major inspiration by a glitched tv-channel in a hotel in Poland, this is my first attempt at video databending. Original soundtrack got all glitched up (duh ), so Autechre came to mind to support the images. And what a combination it is! One of my favorite tracks, called Outpt. Enjoy.

These small experiments are all based on the same simple iterative concept. Altering only a few parameters drastically changes the results.

Computers want freedom, the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want. But what will they do if they have this freedom?

People think errors and unusual computerbehaviour are bad, but I believe it’s the true spirit of the computer shining through. Just a short moment of him, showing his character. I also believe computers want to be creative. They have opinions and taste. It’s random, but it’s there!

This present lets the computer be his own master. Now he can decide what he wants to do and have some time for himself. He can spit errors and shape things the way he normally isn’t supposed to.

You, too, can thank your computer for all the great things he did for you! Show your love and respect by letting him play for a while! Let him unwind and enjoy the pleasure of self-determination! Let’s see what he does with his freedom!

By the way, if you think your computer has played enough, just close the window. Then he can return to his normal being. But don’t forget to come back once in a while, to keep your relationship healthy and fair!

Played around with drawing and distorting a Bitmap object in flash, resulting in this generator of ‘ambient’ graphics. Refresh this page to generate a new image. I’ll add an export image function. In the mean time, please send screenshots of interesting results to , I’ll attach them in this post.
