I was overwhelmed by the man, by the liners technique, his wit, the confident delivery of the punch - that doesn’t wait for the crowd to acknowledge it, he knows it is smart and hilarious and you’ll get it soon (if you have minimal cells in your brain).

The sad story is that Mitch passed away in March, 2005 at the age of 37 from over using drugs. too bad he’s a great lose. a true icon.

I think Mitch could have been a wizard planner - because his observations are so clear, true and obvious - he really understood things - the details - those we believe “it is all about them”.

like his line about pringles - he believed the company started as a tennis balls brand, but on the day the first delivery came - they got potatoes instead - and Pringles is a laid back company - they just said - “what the hell, cut them up”. hilarious.

one of his magical liners was this ” An escalator can never break down. it can only become stairs”. amazing insight.

so this post is a tribute to the man - because early this morning on the way to a meeting in Azrieli Center in Tel Aviv - I used the escalators that have become stairs. was funny and sad. thanks Mitch.

הקונספט שעמד מאחורי השער הוא בהפיכת כוכבי הישרדות שכבשו לנו את המסכים בחודשים האחרונים, לעולם קרקסי, קברטי אולי אפילו קצת גרוטסקי חשבנו על סט דמיוני, עם אביזרים וחיות כמו בקרקס אמיתי.
את כל הדבר הזה, רצינו להפוך למודל מיניאטורי שבתוכו נוכל לייצר ככל העולה על רוחינו.
תודה לפנאי פלוס - לנירית, לשלי לרינת ולאוהד על ההזדמנות לעשות משהו קצת אחר. לנו היה כיף וכן ירבו.

הסט כולו היה בגודל של חצי מטר רבוע. אל נותן תחושה של אחד לאחד

ולא נגענו NO PHOTOSHOP

היינו רוצים שזאת תהיה אהבה ממבט ראשון. ככה זה קרה עד היום ורק ככה אנחנו מאמינים שזה עובד. אז כמו באהבה חדשה שבהתחלה היא מלאה בסקרנות, התרגשות וניצוצות מגלים שיש גם מערכת יחסים ובה כל אחד נותן מעצמו. אצלנו ב-dear כולם שותפים ליצירה, לרעיון, ליוזמה, לקריאייטיב, לכלים, לקפה וכמובן לביצוע מדויק שלא מעגל פינות.

אם את אוהבת את מה שאת עושה וגם מאמינה שאת עושה את זה הכי טוב אז אפשר לקבוע דייט ראשון…

קצת עניינים טכניים: שליטה מופלאה בפוטושופ, אילוסטרייטור, Freehand, מי שיש לה פלאש אנחנו מאד נשמח ובכלל כל דבר שיכול להפתיע מבורך.

The first Xray store opened yesterday, we are very excited. It is always lovely to see that your work is living and is a lot more than some nice presentations on LCD screens. The shop is in Shenkin St. Tel Aviv, prime location, amazing traffic; all major fashion brands have a store on this street. And I believe that (well, I am biased) that we have the coolest one over there. When your concept is a swimming pool you’d better be cool.

Sales were beautiful for a first day. Just for running the operation and starting to check the atmosphere of the street we couldn’t ask for more.

Many things still to be done - we have a rubber duckie waiting to wet himself over there and some additional cool elements. Updates will come.
