Just in case you missed my Art Caddy guest post a while back at Mom 4 Real and The Taylor House, I thought I would share with you all here.

I can’t believe it is already Fall Break here. We started school August 1 as we are transitioning to a balanced calendar. My kiddo isn’t liking it. Although, my kiddo sure is LOVING the art caddy I made him. I got this idea from a blog I love: I Heart Organizing. Here is her Art Caddy:

Now let me show you mine. I got a much better deal at Wal-Mart with their back to school supplies sale. Instead of a utensil caddy I found the shower caddy to work really well, actually perfect for my two boys. Lets take a look:

This is the side I made for my oldest son. I used vinyl to label his side of the art bucket. I actually like keeping the supplies in their respective boxes. Let me show you the other side:

My two boys have their very own art supplies that they don’t have to fight over! How cool is that? I used the center of the caddy as a “community” where these supplies are shared. Let me show you the view from the top:

You are probably wondering how much I paid for all these brand new supplies? You won’t believe it!!!

Yep, that’s right! $27.45 for all of this including the shower caddy!!!!

What a perfect way to create an art caddy that has a handle to boot! Easy portability too! I also scored a ream of paper so they could start creating right away.

I hope you enjoyed my Art Caddy. What would you organize with a shower caddy?

I hope you will follow along with me at:

I know it’s been a long time since I posted something. I LOVE my job and I have been a busy bee I can’t wait to show you a wedding tile I made for a blog giveaway. You create it in your Silhouette and place it on a 12×12 tile. It’s GORGEOUS to a capital G! Let’s take a look:

All I did was create this in Silhouette and print it out on vinyl. Once I weeded my vinyl I adhered it to the tile. This was a quick and easy project. Now I am going to show you how to create this in the Silhouette software.

Once I found the scroll I wanted from the Online Store at Silhouette I knew I needed two if them and I wanted a mirror image. It’s so easy to create this in the software. Let me show you step 1:

You will highlight the object you want to duplicate. Then you will click on Edit, Duplicate. It will then give you a second image on your screen. Now to get the mirror image you need to determine if it needs to be flipped horizontally or vertically. I needed mine to flip vertically. Here is what that looks like next:

You click on Object, Transform and Flip Vertically. Now I have a mirror image of my scroll. YAY!

The last name was done in Times News Roman all in captial letters and everything else was done in the Andalus font. I love this project. Quick, easy and beautiful and a one of a kind gift!

Hi! It’s Jilly! I’m happy to be guest posting here today at Debbie Does Creations!! We’ve been swapping buttons for the last month, and I thank her for inviting me to guest post!
My name is Jillian, and I blog over at Hi! It’s Jilly. I am the wife of a podiatry resident, and mom of seven year-old triplets. Yes, I said TRIPLETS! On my blog I like to write about TV characters that annoy me, home & craft projects, recipes, and anything else in my crazy life that tickles my fancy!

When I saw Debbie’s post about her son’s Mickey costume for his Favorite Storybook Character at school I KNEW these Mickey Mouse Ear T-shirts I’m sharing would be right up her alley!
This summer we were able to go to Disneyland with my husband’s parents AND my Mom- Eight people total. It was quite the group, but SO much fun! I wanted some fun, personalized shirts for us to wear one of the days of our trip. I started looking for different ideas online and saw a lot of great ideas. I finally settled on this design and decided to do a freezer paper stencil.
I used the free font FIND MICKEY FONT NAME, which was so cute and easy. To make the template I just typed the first letter of each person’s name in a Word document, and increased the font size until it filled one whole page.

Then I printed it out, laid freezer paper over it, and traced around it with a pencil. You want to write on the non-shiny side, because the shiny side is the side that you will be ironing to your shirt.

Next, cut out your template with an x-acto knife.

You want to be sure you have enough paper left around the outside of your design so that it doesn’t cause problems when you are trying to paint and when you eventually peel the stencil off your shirt.

Once you have your stencil made, iron the freezer paper to your shirt, shiny side down.

After the shirt cools a little bit, start painting! The kids can even help with this step. You can get fabric paint in a huge variety of colors from your local craft store. Don’t forget to use your coupon if you go to Joann’s or Hobby Lobby! Oh! And make sure you put a piece of cardboard or a paper bag inside the shirt between the front & back of the shirt. You don’t want to accidently paint the front & back together!!

Now, let the paint dry COMPLETELY!

Once dry, CAREFULLY peel the freezer paper off of the shirt.

(In this picture the bigger part of the stencil has been peeled off, but not the letter in the middle)

And that’s it!! Now you have a one-of-a-kind shirt to wear!!

I am so excited today to share with you an amazing opportunity for not only your school but for YOU as well. I am a huge proponent of Box Tops for Education. It’s FREE money for your school! A lot of people don’t realize what that little Box Top can do for a school. Well, I am here to tell you. Last year was the first year our school, Gower Elementary School, no longer received special funding from the government. If you have a certain percentage of students qualify for free/reduced lunches then your school qualifies for special funding. Well we missed the threshold and just fell short. This was tens of thousands of dollars that we have to make up. That funding helped support academic programs in our school.

Each Box Top is worth $.10 towards your school. You don’t think it’s a lot but it truly adds up! Right now, General Mills is offering 4 Box Tops on their products. This is a great time to stock up on those products. My shopping experience was fun at Walmart. Make sure you click over and check it out!

Each one of those products offer 4 Box Tops. You better believe I am cutting them out and sending them into my school. Now let’s get to the exciting part. How you can earn even more with the Jing It app (#JingIt4edu) on your smartphone.

JingIt and Box Tops for Education

JingIt is teaming up with Box Tops for Education. All you have to do is download the FREE app:

Once you download the app then you register yourself and most importantly you select the school that you want the Box Tops for Education to be allocated to. Then, here’s the fun part, when you go shopping at Walmart, you check-in with the App:

Choose the check-in feature. It will then give you a list of products to choose from that you can scan with your phone. You click on a product:

I chose Totino’s. It wants me to scan the barcode of 3 different pizzas. I choose check-in and it tells me which ones to scan. After scanning I am asked a quick question, referred to as their survery, and I am done. I earned 4 Box Tops, I earned $1.00 and I provided them with brand education. How cool is that?

My entire life at some point or another has been dominated by football and tailgating! Growing up and living in Miami, we had Joe Robbie Stadium where we would often take our RV and be there for hours in the grass cooking up hotdogs, applying fake tattoos and that cool black junk under our eyes, and tossing the ole pig skin by the lights of the parking lot. I even have a picture of me and mother in the 80′s wearing my teal and white and orange Miami Dolphins Super bowl gear for a photo, I was two! High school brought on marching band, and me being the Drum Major (nothing to do with beating a drum) I was engrossed in weekends spent on the AstroTurf and hanging on the track next to the field cheering on my Barracudas and then afterwards hanging in the parking lot of the school watching the football hotties exit the bus and hangout. One of those hotties was lucky enough to snag me a decade later as his wife! We are big Miami Hurricanes fans and often gather as a family and tailgate at the stadium and eat chicken wings, drink some brewskies, and don our orange and green. When we aren’t able to attend games, we set up shop in the living room of our apartment or parents’ house with our UM cutlery, glassware, whatever’s on hand and tailgate on the couch inviting over anyone and everyone who wants to join in the spirit of FOOTBALL!!!!! This year we get to begin really sharing that tradition with our three boys!–

You are probably wondering where the Toot Your Horn Tuesday Link Party is. Well, I have decided to no longer host a link party. This was a hard decision to make. I am going back to work full time on Sept. 10th and I know that I would not be able to diligently keep up with the link party and giving the links the proper exposure and promotion they deserve. There is nothing worse than linking up and and the host doesn’t even do features or shout outs. I mean, what’s the point? You are trying to get your blog out there. You deserve a great host!!!

I will keep blogging and share things I create along the way but I am looking forward to going back to work. My Mom said, I was a happier person when I worked. I stopped working when my son turned 2 1/2 and now he is in first grade. I was able to be home during my pregnancy and first 16 months with our second son. It has truly been a blessing but I am so ready to get back to work, have a career, a clean house (since my kids won’t be home during the day) and a routine! I hope you all understand. Thanks so much for making this party awesome! I loved every minute of it and I am truly going to miss being inspired by each and everyone one of you

I know I am a little behind on the tailgating series and I will get to more food and drink this week but today I have a special treat for those gamers at the tailgating party. Dana is going to show you how to make Cornhole Boards and DIY Scoreboard with a built in drink holder! Score!!

Hey there Debbie-Does Readers! My name is Dana and I do the blogging at Crafted Niche. I’m so excited to be here today. I’m a big fan of all-things tailgating – what’s not to love… good food, good friends, your favorite teams, and of course good drinks! When Debbie invited me to pop over and share some of my favorite tailgating projects, I couldn’t resist!

A quick about me… I’m a 29-year old single gal, DIY’ing her way through her first house. I have 3 dogs, one horse and never enough time in the day. I work full-time and repurpose, remodel, craft and everything else DIY in my free time (ha! does free time really exist?).
Debbie and I may as well be long lost sisters. She’s a big Penn State fan… which earns her BIG points in my book. I grew up in Pennsylvania and my oldest sister went to Penn State.

Now-a days I live outside St. Louis, MO. I’ve been here almost 5 years now and so far so good. But enough about me…

Let’s go tailgating!

As a special wedding gift for my middle-sister and her husband, I thought it’d be fun to make cornhole boards to drag along to their family-friendly Destination Wedding! …and boy was I right! We played beanbags every day while in Florida. Don’t tell the lady that gave her the fine-china crockpot, but she said my hand-made cornholes were the best gift she got (J/K)!
I did a full how-to on the project here. Don’t be intimidated by the power-tools. Trust me! I tackled my first wood project last year and I’ve been full steam ever since! You can totally do it.
I thought it might be fun to whip up a little cornholes accessory for those people like me that like to enjoy a beverage while they play. …and then I remembered those times where we lost track of the score as our beverage count went up. Hmmm, what’s a girl to do?

How about make one of these!

My favorite things about this project:
1) I had to open a beer. Well c’mon.. what kind of drink-holder tail-gating photo would it be without my bessed Miller Lite?!

2) It cost me a whopping 25 cents in materials!

Okay, I’m sure you’re scratching your head on that second part, but here it goes – The box/crate was made using leftover pallet wood from a plank wall in my bathroom. The wood stake was in my shed when I bought the house (woop!). The white hook was in my toolbox from Lord-knows-what years ago. I bought the chalk and alphabet rubber stamps when I made my clay-tag calendar. The paint/stain I already owned… which leaves the chalk board. Yes, my (new) friends, that chalkboard set me back 25 cents on clearance at Target. What a find right!

Did you see my monogrammed koozie? ha! I love that sucker. I’m wild about the color scheme and the giraffe reminds me of my horse, Sylvester… he’s tall and likes to run around with his head held high. Such a silly giraffe!

I used my miter saw to cut my pallet wood, then glued and nail-gunned it together. I then stained the box and stake with Minwax Express in Indigo. I added the No. 12 with some leftover paint and my rubber stamps. After a quick dry (encouraged by my blow-dryer), I hit the edges with my palm sander to rough up the finish. Once it was good to go, I pre-drilled a hole in the top of my stake and attached the box with a wood screw. Voila! Instant beer holder! The hook is just a handy place to hang the scoreboard… which is of course optional!

Well, what do you think?! I hope you’ll be inspired to try a tailgating project of your own. Debbie’s been giving us so many awesome ideas to get started. There’s definitely not a lack of inspiration at Debbie Does Creations!
