I’ve never been so disgusted with a company and it’s inability to provide services as has been my recent experience with Comcast. I contracted for the triple play and the first installer arrived on July 8th. He told me he was not able to do anything since my TV, Computer etc. had not been delivered yet. I understand that the services could not be tested but they certainly could have run the wires and returned a day or two later to confirm the connection. Now because I did not have a phone line I had to cancel the setup of my home security system. I rescheduled the appointment for the next earliest date available which was July 15, 2010 and of course my appointment was from 11 – 2pm so I had to take another day off of work. The tech (a subcontractor) was unsuccessful in completing the install and at 4pm when walking out of my house said I wouldn’t have phone service for a while. He took the modem and all the cable boxes and left the house. I had to cancel the setup of my home security system again. I immediately called to voice my ire with the service and was told someone would come on Friday. I could not take another day off of work so it was reschuled for Saturday, July 17th between 8 and 11 am. Another tech arrived Saturday but was unable to do anything because he had no equipment even though I had stated that in my 3rd or 4th call to Comcast about my installation issues. I was told that the sub contractor supervisor would be contacting me shortly to resolve the issue. I still have not heard from anyone. Today, July 19th when I called again they have no record of my account. So, still after being in a brand new house in a new state for eleven days I still have no phone, internet or cable service which means I can’t get a security system installed. I will be suing Comcast for any loss/damage to my property due to the lack of a security system for your techs incompetence.

I use Source Manager and run into a problem. Using a dictionary entry “significant other” from Merriam-Webster gives the following APA format (as provided by Merriam-Webster on their website:

significant other. (2010). In Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary. Retrieved March 8, 2010, from http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/significant other

Source Manager provides no entry to put the “In” that needs to precede source! How to solve this?

My lamp went dark a few weeks ago. I searched the web for a replacement bulb and found an Eiko on Amazon.com. When I installed the new bulb, nothing happened. I’m not sure what, if anything, inside the lamp is repairable. My lamp remains dark. Any ideas?

Is there a way of importing an existing bibliography into this format – I’ve just started my PhD and have recently upgraded to Word 2007. I have a bibligoraphy (done by hand) that I’d love to import into the sources manager.

I’m sorry that you had that experience. It’s true that as a general rule of most opticals, it’s said that if you didn’t buy the frame from that office they are not held liable for the frame breaking but there are better ways of handling that situation than what they did. I’m a licensed optician in WA and GA and from that I’m sure it was a rushed job. The marks/scratches on the inside of the frame are from just as you assumed. The lenses appear to be edged too large for the frame. When inserting a screw into a frame opticians try to get leverage on the frame by placing it on a flat surface and bear down on the screw as they are twisting the screwdriver. All too often the screwdriver will slip and scratch the frame or lens(sometimes even hands or fingers). It happens all to often when the technician isn’t being careful. I’ve done myself when I was learning and accidents do happen, but how they handled it wasn’t even reasonable customer service. The right way to handle that situation at my office would to offer a remake: the frame of your choice out of our stock for free (if unable to get that particular frame) with lenses cut into the frame for free and a partial refund. I would like to recommend that while the optical chain stores do well in selling low cost product to the consumer, the independent optical thinks less on numbers and sales and concentrate more on satisfying the consumer. They offer a more personal experience and treatment. Also it helps if you know if you optical has ABO/NCLE certified and state licensed staff as they will know what they are doing when they process your order. I hope this information will help.

holy shit. searching for drivers everywhere, and my intel pro software release disk didn’t have the drivers (the software release disk version is 6.1). finally i entered a more specific search criteria into google and i got this page. Thanks alot, I really needed a solution that works.

now I only need the driver for “unknown device”, the function buttons, and a driver for the tablet that actually works…
