Usual pictures of this majestic monument include the whole of it; but I wanted to get closer and highlight the inscriptions, the crowning dome and the other more intricate details; hence the close up of the upper section. Curious?</span><br /><br /><span style="font: 9px verdana, arial; font-weight: normal;">Went on a trek to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamarajanagar">Chamarajanagar</a> forest over the last weekend organised by <a href="http://www.basecamponline.net">Basecamp Bangalore</a> and it was superb! So there will be quite a few pics from this trek over the next few days. :) This boy is from a small tribal village that we came across just about a kilometer into the trek. Those eyes say a story by themselves; they really do.

He/She sat still like this for more than an hour and so I had plenty of time to shoot in whatever way I wanted to. Was wary about getting too close though; the huge beak was a tad too intimidating! :)<br><br>
