Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of traveling to Italy to photograph a good friend’s wedding in Taormina, Sicily. This was my first international destination wedding and my first experience of the amazing country and culture of Italy.

On a late afternoon walk through Florence, with no particular place to go, Angi and I found our way to the Ponte a Santa Trinita, and looked up the Arno river towards the Ponte Vecchio.

Zoe & Brad, Warburton Golf Club {wedding}

In early October, my sister married Brad and officially joined the deBroughe family.

The wedding was held at the Warburton Golf Club, tucked away in the valley behind the town, with the tall native trees, rolling green hills and the smell of log fires providing a beautiful setting for the event. The fairways were damp from a week of solid Spring rain, and with light drizzle on the forecast, the rain clouds held back for a few hours to let the late afternoon sun warm the chill in the country air.

Personally, I really enjoyed being a guest at this wedding, simply being able to just document & shoot what I saw from where I was standing. It was also fun to watch the primary photographer, Sueellen Lee in action.

And If you look very closely, you’ll see that Brad’s wedding band is partially made of a Woolly Mammoth dinosaur fossil, sourced from the depths of the ocean.

Hanna & Rob – Ochre Art Gallery, Melbourne

Hanna & Rob’s awesome wedding in Melbourne has been featured today on the Style Me Pretty Australia blog here.

In Hanna’s own words:

” I had a stroke about 7 months before the wedding, so it was really important to me to show everyone how much I loved Rob for standing by me during that time! “

Hanna & Rob were planning their wedding from the U.A.E when it happened.

Back in Melbourne to recover, Hanna was bravely determined to wear her red Ralph Laurens for the wedding ceremony.

” I walked up the aisle to “Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes” by Paul Simon. That was a tribute to my dad, he died 6 years ago… “

This was simply a beautiful, amazing wedding to photograph and I am very honoured to share Hanna and Rob’s day with you.
