Delack Media Group is excited to announce a full series of interactive educational webcasts focused on equipping wedding couples with the information they need to help plan their wedding. The second live webcast in our series, entitled “Choosing a Photographer for Your Wedding”, featured Robyn Lindemann of Robyn Rachel Photography. Robyn talked about the various types of photographic styles that are available and gave viewers tips on how to find the perfect photographer for their wedding.

How to Choose a Band or Performer for Your Wedding

Delack Media Group is excited to announce a full series of interactive educational webcasts focused on equipping wedding couples with the information they need to help plan their wedding. The first live webcast in our series, entitled “How to Choose a Band or Orchestra for Your Wedding”, featured Toni DiDonato, Music Director at Rendezvous Music. DiDonato talked about the various types of bands/orchestras that are available and gave viewers tips on how to find the perfect entertainment for their wedding. She also talked about the number of instruments you may need for your event and how to get the best performance from your band.

DiDonato studied at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and has created a name for herself in the high-end special event music industry. Under her leadership, Rendezvous has formed two bands. Rendezvous is an eleven-piece contemporary band that performs for corporate, wedding, and other private events. Greenlight is an eight-piece dance band, known for its high-energy, interactive, dynamic performances.

Mark your calendars! Our next live webcast, entitled “Choosing a Photographer for Your Wedding” will take place on Tuesday, 6/18/13, at 7 PM CDT. You can view the webcast on any browser or mobile device by clicking on this link. Viewers will be able to ask real-time questions to our guest in the webcast chat room. Viewers will also be encouraged to use the Twitter hashtag #LIVEWEDED (Live Wedding Education) and share the live event with other friends via Facebook and other social media outlets.

Stephanee + Matt // Trump Hotel Chicago

Stephanee and Matt met at a Halloween party. Matt was wearing a hot dog costume and Stephanee was dressed as a Gossip Girl. Pretty romantic, right? A few weeks later, they exchanged numbers and went out on a date and their relationship continued to grow. Several years later, Matt proposed to Stephanee during an unforgettable trip to Paris, France. It was no surprise that one of Matt’s three cards (yes, three!) to Stephanee on the day of their wedding had the Eiffel Tower on its cover.

Stephanee and Matt really spent a lot of time on the details, including decor by Heffernan Morgan. One of my favorite design elements was the 15 chandeliers hanging from the ceremony canopy. Guests danced the night away to music by the The Gold Coast All Stars band in Trump’s main ballroom and also were treated to an after party in a completely separate room with tunes spun by DJ Akib. Annie + TJ // St. Alphonsus + Ravenswood Event Center

Annie and TJ first saw our work when a friend sent them a link to our wedding trailers. They both immediately fell in love with our style of storytelling, but Annie’s hopes of having us document her wedding day quickly disappeared when she realized we were out of their budget.

Little did Annie know that TJ had later contacted us to reserve their date and asked us to keep the big secret. A few weeks before their wedding, TJ brought out his laptop, logged onto the Delack Media Group wedding blog and showed Annie one of our latest trailers. Annie looked at TJ and smiled. “I know where this is going,” she later told her friends about that moment. TJ broke the news to her that he had hired us to film their big day. Needless to say, Annie was ecstatic.

Heavenly music from the Magical Strings of Youth filled the air at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (Chicago) for Annie + TJ’s wedding ceremony. They also incorporated a few Filipino wedding ceremony traditions. The wedding coins (Arras or Arrhae) symbolize mutual support and responsibility. The veil is a symbol of the couple’s unity (being “clothed as one”), and the cord is placed over the heads of the couple and draped over their shoulders to signify the couple’s bond.

After the ceremony, we went to the Cancer Survivors Garden for shots with their wedding party. Then, everyone danced the night away at the Ravenswood Event Center. Annie + TJ: thank you for entrusting me to capture your day. I hope you enjoy watching your wedding trailer and film for many years to come!

Marina + Andy // Florida

When you find true love, you know it. It’s the emotion, the feeling, and the memories. Such was the case with my dear friend and college roommate, Andy. He found his true love in Marina. The two of them work for departments in The Walt Disney Company (Orlando, FL). I knew that Andy and Marina had been dating and only hoped that they would ask me to film their wedding. Andy was always a huge supporter of my video work in college and remains a big fan of Delack Media Group’s wedding cinematography work around Chicago and other various destination weddings.
Andy and Marina had a beautiful wedding ceremony (officiated by Andy’s brother, Chris) at the Delray Beach Golf Club. Their ceremony also included a Latin American wedding tradition known as Las Aaaras. During this tradition, the couple exchanges 13 coins to symbolize their pledge to care for one another through time. The coins can represent different things to different couples, but to Andy & Marina, the coins are a reflection of faith, devotion, hope and love.

The weather was perfect and the images I was able to capture in Delray Beach were magnificent! Their families opened their arms to ours and we could not have been more thankful for a wonderful week in Florida. It’s special when a friend is able to find his companion. Andy and Marina are so perfect together and we could not be happier for the two of you.

Robyn + TJ // Las Vegas

I met Robyn at a wedding that we were both working at a few years ago. It was Delack Media Group’s first year in business as a wedding cinematography studio in Chicago. I was filming the wedding and she was photographing it. Robyn is an extremely talented photographer with an amazingly creative eye. So, when she asked me to film her wedding at the Four Seasons Las Vegas (in the shadows of Mandalay Bay), I was honored.

Throughout the process of preparing for their Las Vegas wedding, I enjoyed getting to know TJ. The two of them are truly a perfect match. While living in California, Robyn took a photography class at a local college. Building her brand of Robyn Rachel Photography on the West coast, Robyn eventually decided to give Chicago a try. During her first week in Chicago, Robyn and TJ met. They shared an immediate attraction and Robyn knew Chicago would eventually have to become her home.

Filming one of the most important days of someone’s life is a tremendous responsibility. When a photographer of Robyn’s caliber asks me to film this day, it’s very humbling to me. Their ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful. We also did a photo session at Hyde Lounge in front of the famous Bellagio water fountains. Guests at the ceremony and cocktail hour even listened to live music from American Idol contestant (top 100 Season 11) Mahi Crabbe! The colors, the sights, and the sounds of Vegas were everywhere. With this trailer, I wanted to bring the viewer into Sin City and make them feel like they were there with us. Robyn and TJ: Thank you! I enjoyed every minute of my weekend capturing your beautiful day. I hope this trailer reminds you of that awesome weekend in Vegas!
