Designate Primary Contact on Team Applications

Within Team Applications in your Demosphere-powered League Scheduling and/or Tournament Management System, communicating with teams has become easier than ever! Among the various team contacts collected on the application, teams can now indicate a Primary Contact amongst a potential collection of Coach, Assistant Coach, and Manager.
After this is designated, administrators may select the Primary Contact as the recipient of a mass email rather than mailing everyone or just Managers. This way, the designated Primary Contact can be sure to get the message.<div class="feedflare">

The final US Youth Soccer Workshop wrapped up on Saturday in Boston. Next year, the show will merge with the NSCAA Convention taking place in Indianapolis.
The Demosphere team (Mike Rosenow and Camille Whitten pictured at right) enjoyed meeting with numerous league and state association customers including Arizona Youth Soccer Assn., New York State West Youth Soccer Assn., Virginia Youth Soccer Assn., West Chester Youth Soccer League, and many more.<div class="feedflare">

New Tiebreaker: Goal Ratio

Looking for an extra tiebreaker option to help separate deadlocked teams? Now your game results and standings can be displayed with a new tiebreaker called the "Goal Ratio".
It is calculated by dividing Goals For (GF) by Goals Against (GA). When used as a tiebreaker, the team with the higher Goal Ratio gets higher placement in the standings.<div class="feedflare">

Valentine's Day and Sports

Valentine's Day has certainly evolved over the years. First established in 496 AD, Valentine's Day was first associated with love in the 15th century and made its way to America in the 1800's.
Today, Valentine's Day is everywhere. With humble beginnings (in modern times) as an elegant card exchange, everything from chocolate to teddy bears to jewelry is now associated with Valentine's Day.<div class="feedflare">

The Demosphere team spent the day yesterday in Chicago visiting with U.S Soccer Development Academy staff at the U.S. Soccer House in Chicago. Both Kris Baker (VP of Sales and Services, second from right), and Camille Whitten (Senior Account Manager, second from left) spent the day with Academy Staff Melissa Biniewicz (left) and Kyle Retzlaff (right).
For the past three years, Demosphere has provided comprehensive registration, scheduling, scorekeeping, statistics tracking, and player scouting services to the Academy. Over 6,000 players participate annually across over 70 clubs and 140 teams.<div class="feedflare">

Each year, many on the Demosphere staff look forward to attending the Virginia Youth Soccer Assn. Convention. This year, the event was held in Richmond and featured an awards presentation, two Demosphere-led sessions, and plenty of exhibit time to see current and potential future Demosphere customers. The team was even fortunate enough to get a picture with State Administrator Julie Caramanica (second from right).
Demosphere has partnered with Virginia Youth Soccer Association for over 10 years and currently hosts VYSA.com in addition to providing registration and scheduling solutions. One of the sessions was presented by Demosphere Vice President Charles Saftner and focused on how to best optimize the VYSA Registration System.<div class="feedflare">

Have you ever visited a website that truly captures one's attention and concluded it must have been designed by someone with vast computer and software programming knowledge? You may be surprised to know that Demosphere's WebWriter® System gives users tons of flexibility when adding and changing content - all in a friendly environment. For those looking for total control, some basic HTML knowledge can assist in making some basic updates directly in the Source Code.
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is often described as the basic building blocks of webpages. Yes, it’s a mouthful and an acronym which stands for a complicated-sounding term. With knowledege of HTML, you can even put together an entire site - not that we're asking you to!<div class="feedflare">

Over the weekend, Demosphere had the opportunity to attend a workshop in Georgia for the first time in many years. Held in conjunction with the Georgia Soccer AGM, the Southeast Soccer Expo drew over 1,500 attendees to the Cobb Galeria on Saturday.
During the day, we had a chance to connect with many potential new customers (see picture at right w/ Account Representative Dannelle Lewandowski) and existing Demosphere clients. It was terrific to be able to meet representatives from Atlanta Fire United, Central Georgia Soccer, Concorde Fire, Decatur-DeKalb YMCA Soccer, Near Post Soccer Training, Roswell Soccer Club, and many more!<div class="feedflare">

I recently came across a neat little widget called Quipol. In short, it allows you to ask a quick yes or no question on your site and allows comments (validated by Facebook and Twitter login) as well. After creating the question on their website, it's quite easy to embed the poll anywhere on your WebWriter website. I've posted an example below.
Quipol's quick, elegant interface is tough to beat - definitely give it a shot if you're looking to poll your members!

For the second year, Demosphere attended the World Baseball Coaches' Convention held at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The event brings thousands of both baseball and softball coaches together for nearly three days of clinics, seminars, demos, and more.
The Demosphere team was excited to see such enthusiasm for both sports for the entire duration of the event. Whether it was listening to a seminar from Red Sox Manager Bobby Valentine or seeing the latest gloves and bats, everyone was excited for spring and not thinking much about the 4" of snow that fell on Saturday morning!<div class="feedflare">
