This video has opened my eyes in a whole new way to the power of social media. No doubt, the internet has changed the world forever. I thought Tommy shooting the laptop was incredible. This one blows that away.

“Kony 2012” was posted on YouTube Monday morning CST and on that day it received around 66,000 views. Invisible Children spread the word to their followers and friends asking them to show support by tweeting, sharing on Facebook, Tumblr, and other social media.

Tuesday, the viral effect began to kick in when @laurencassie, a Tweeter with only 29 followers at the time, tweeted the story to Oprah and Oprah retweeted it to her 9.6 million fans. When this happened, celebrities became aware of the cause and began tweeting, posting to FB and their social media circles. Justin Bieber, P Diddy, and many others pushed the story to their multi millions of fans and followers.

Today, March 9 at 12:00 noon CST USA, the view count is 56,647,137! Simply amazing. The view count has increased by one million views since I started writing this post about an hour ago.

We are truly all connected on this planet. We all should care for the well being of our fellow human beings. The international community has to unite against the bully murderers of the world and remove their ability to inflict these atrocities on their fellow human beings. I am not saying we should go to war every time a new conflict breaks out somewhere in the world. There are other measures that can be taken as well, but this guy has been murdering men, women, and CHILDREN for 26 years. I am glad to see our government has send 100 military advisors to Uganda to aid in finding this guy. Where are the other world leaders on this? What are they doing? What have they done already. Apparently not enough. So far there has been a lot of lip service given but not  much action taken. It is time Joseph Kony’s reign of terror comes to an end and he gets just punishment for his crimes against humanity.

The Kony 2012 social media campaign has gone viral. This well done thirty minute movie has received over 37 million page views in only two days. When I first saw it less than five hours ago it already had over 32 million pages views. Invisible Children, a non profit children’s advocacy group, has been documenting atrocities inflicted upon the people of Uganda by self proclaimed “visionary” Joseph Kony. Kony, the founder of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) is a vicious, sadistic persecutor of his fellow countrymen. He claims God and the spirits talk to him and guide him to build this army of children and force them to torture, rape, and murder innocent men, women, and children, including their own parents. He was indicted by the International Criminal Court in the Hague, Netherlands in 2005  with crimes against humanity. It is past time for the world community to hunt him down and bring him to justice. Mississippi Afterburner Transforms into RC/UAV Aviation Week

Raymond, MS – School tours emphasizing science and math along with unmanned robotic aircraft will highlight the 19th annual Mississippi Afterburner Jet Rally radio controlled jet fly-in April 29, 30, – May 1 at the John Bell Williams Airport. Event organizers are calling it Radio Controlled / Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (RC/UAV) Aviation Week.

Aviation Week is open to the public and admission is $5 per car. Concessions will be available and all proceeds go to the Hinds Community College Aviation Scholarship program.

For the past six years, the Mississippi Afterburner has brought pilots of radio-controlled model jet aircraft from across the country to showcase their aviation interests at John Bell Williams Airport, which is owned by Hinds Community College. This year’s event will bring pilots from England to California flying more than 150 various jet models in a variety of free flight and skills competitions.

In support of Hinds Community College’s expanding aviation curriculum, organizers have partnered with The Stealth Learning Company and Advanced Composite Manufacturing to showcase education and vocational opportunities in unmanned aerial systems (UASs) during the week’s events. The school is developing a new curriculum that will graduate trained operators of UAVs for commercial applications.

Planned events include:
·    April 29 (Thursday): The Mississippi Afterburner Jet Rally will begin. In addition to the radio-controlled model jets, displays of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Advanced Composite Manufacturing and Neany Inc and demonstrations of UAVs flight capabilities with virtual UAV rides offered to the public by event organizer Dennis Lott.
·    April 30 (Friday): The Mississippi Afterburner will continue with an interactive tent to include HCC flight simulators and the Stealth Learning Company’s ‘I Too Can Fly’ interactive stations. This tent will highlight students from the Jackson Public School system that participated in this award winning program, and other area students. A Top Gun for ‘I Too Can Fly’ Program to put on demonstration flight. UAV demonstrations during the noon hour. Virtual UAV rides. Location: John Bell Williams Airport, Raymond, MS.  Times: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
·    May 1(Saturday): The Mississippi Afterburner will continue flying jet sorties and the interactive tent will continue HCC flight simulators and I Too Can Fly interactive stations.  UAV flight demonstrations during the noon hour. Virtual UAV rides. Location: John Bell Williams Airport, Raymond, MS.  Times:  9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
