As a means of collaboration to highlight quality Colorado wine, three additional tasting rooms are moving in next door. Join us Saturday March 20 from 1pm to 5pm for the grand opening of Colorado Winery Row and the launch of Denver’s wine tasting destination. Bonacquisti Wine Co, Cottonwood Cellars, Garfield Estates and Verso Cellars will offer wine tastings, and sales by the glass, bottle and case. Within the winery, we will feature the live sounds of Sweetness Down Under and on our walls will be the works of Amy Norton. So plan to spend the afternoon at our winery and tour all that Colorado Winery Row has to offer.

Grab a Morsel and Enjoy Your Glass
It was only a matter of time before we began offering a limited food menu, and there is no better time than the present. Whether you fancy marinated olives, artisan cheeses or fresh fruit, these plates will pair perfectly with your favorite glass of Bonacquisti Wine. We will offer the menu on Saturdays and gauge your response to expand the days. Thanks for requesting this, and for wanting to hang out at our place.

March Wine Club Ready to Drop
Just like a baby at the 40th week, our wine club is ready to drop. (OK, too much? Well, you get the picture.) The March quarterly shipment will include the new release of everybody’s favorite Vinny No Neck. Not yet available to the public, this blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Franc features an updated label with the familiar artwork of Daniel Luna. Also in this shipment is a limited production of a White Zinfandel. Before you get any ideas, this is a dry white zin and when I say limited, I mean only 25 cases of this wine exist. Other than wine club, this wine will only be available at the winery, so don’t miss out. We round out the trio with our soon-to-sell-out SGM. This luxurious blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre is an example of just one of the many benefits of wine club. With only 35 cases left, this gold medal winner will be all but gone after March. For more information on the many benefits of our wine club and to sign up today, visit http://shop.denverwine.net/products/wine-club

Vinny No Neck Release Party
Winery Row Launch Party. Vinny No Neck Release Party. Are you starting to get the idea that all the Bonacquisti's do is party? (Don’t answer that if you knew either one of us in college!) Mark your calendar for Saturday April 10. We’ll send out more information as the date gets closer but it will be an afternoon not to be missed (unlike those 2pm classes that always took a backseat to FACs…but I digress).

We look forward to seeing you soon. Salute.
Judi and Paul

Thanks for coming out to Wine & Chocolate Weekend 2010

4th Annual Wine & Chocolate Weekend

Our sensoral celebration is back! It has become a mainstay for our NW Denver Neighborhood, taking over Chaffee Park the Saturday after Labor Day each year. It features live music on three stages, food vendors and a beer and wine garden.

And now...a grape stomp.

This year Bonacquisti Wine Company, Sunnyside's resident winery, will be hosting a community grape stomp at the festival. Bring your feet and help crush the grapes that will make the special edition, 2009 Sunnyside Colorado Syrah. Pre purchase 3-12 bottles and take part in all aspects of the wine making throughout the year, punch down, barrel tasting and bottling. Pre-Sale price is just $15/bottle, buy 1 or buy 3 bottles or more and we'll include a barrel tasting party in the spring of 2010 and bottling party in the summer. A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the festival. This is a limited edition wine, only 2 barrels will be made (5o cases). This wine will retail for $25/bottle next fall, so come out Saturday and be a part of the fun.
Admission is free to the park, so bring your friends, a blanket and enjoy the music.

The T-Shirt is Here

What started out as a tongue and cheek Facebook post a few months ago has finally turned into reality. One night my wife and I were sippin wine and quoting old school lyrics from Morris Day and the Time's The Bird and Salt-N-Pepa's Push It, "This dance ain't for everybody only the sexy people" and out pops, "This wine ain't for everybody..." so we put it on a shirt and here it is. Pre-shrunk, ladies cut black t-shirt that's soft to the touch and will make you sizzle. S,M,L & XL, $15 or buy a 6 pack of wine and get one free, while supplies last. Sorry guys, this one's for the ladies, your shirt is coming soon.

To buy a shirt click here: http://shop.denverwine.net/products/this-wine-t-shirt

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Mff-oipmuHI/SqAuoVHCjrI/AAAAAAAAAXc/VkH2ZFRVwxg/s400/ThisWine3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377349225476689586" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 350px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Mff-oipmuHI/SqAnyT3KGXI/AAAAAAAAAXU/A9GP9eAeThM/s400/ThisWineFront.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377341700358936946" />

How We Make Our Labels

We stopped by Adstick Custom Lables to see how they make our labels look so good and this is what we saw.

2nd Friday Pictures

Thank you for coming out to our art show. Thanks to Bonacquisti Winery here in Denver, we were able to grant some "caviar wishes", or at least some exquisite wine.
Deep in the basement of the 12,114 square foot villa, stood a wine cellar that was much more than just a room. This aesthetic masterpiece was a perfect blend of architectural elements and artistic creations, but the room was empty. The lovely Carrara marble bar slabs were completely bare. There are few things as depressing as a completely empty wine cellar.
The staging company could have carelessly thrown some cheap bottles of vino into the room and called it a day, but then an idea struck. What if there was a way to partially fill the cellar and promote a local company at the same time? Finding local beer in Colorado is easy, but local wine proved to be a challenge, until we discovered Bonacquisiti winery and the gracious Executive Sommelier, Paul Bonacquisti.
Paul and Judi Bonacquisti founded the winery in 2006, but the story of this celebrated Colorado wine actually began in 1900 whenGiovanni Battista Bonacquisti emigrated from Castro dei Volsci, Italy and came to work in the coal mines near Trinidad, Colorado. The Coal Camp, Delagua, became the birthplace of Paul's father and the site where Giovanni put an American flair on his Italian tradition of winemaking. It is in his spirit that Paul presents the wines of Bonacquisti Wine Company.
In the same way that Rocky Mountain Redesign always tries to promote local artisans, businesses, and the economy in general, Paul primarily uses grapes grown in Palisades, Colorado. His urban location 1 block South of I-70 at 4640 Pecos (next to Quiznos) proudly proclaims "Wine for the People"! In place of extravagant tasting fees and snobbishness, you'll experience a casual Colorado atmosphere and personal attention.
So what happened to the poor, empty, wine cellar? Well, thanks to Paul and Judi's generosity, the room is now a magnificent tribute to Bonacquisti Wines, our local economy, and the spirit of celebration. When potential owners visit the home, they can now envision parties, new beginnings, holidays, family, and festivities.
We at Rocky Mountain Redesign wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Paul, Judi, and Bonacquisti Wine. We could not have done it without you. Click to read the whole article. Many thanks to Roger Fillion for continuing to write about the Colorado Wine Industry.

Colorado winemakers are toasting the quality of the state's latest grape harvest. They predict last fall's harvest will produce some of Colorado's better, if not best, wines in recent years. And there should be plenty of bottles to go around. Colorado wine-grape growers appear to have picked a record amount of grapes from their vines during the 2008 harvest.

By Roger Fillion

The Perfect Night In

Love.
