Through this site you have heard us speak about long term and short term cd rates. Today the 6 month cd rates come into play. What are the advantages and the disadvantages for this period of bank cd when you are signing up for this one? Let me make it clear that the best cd rates by far are those which offer something for you of value that you really shouldn’t have to second guess. With certificate of deposits as low as they are it really comes down to what bank is willing to offer the highest pay out for the shortest period of time.

The 6 month cd rates currently being offered by most banks lack in that they are low paying. The future is unpredictable, but we do know that cd rates being offered by banks don’t look like thy could go much lower than they already are. Obviously your looking at getting a higher payout on a CD that is for 6 months than for one that is 3 months we can tell you that. As far as how well you get locked in, now that is another story.

Are 6 month cd rates worth it then? Depending on who you are then yes they can be. Remember it all comes down to how long you are willing to wait to see if things will change. If you are satisfied with locking in to a longer term CD then go ahead, but if you want to stick to short term until we get out of an ugly economy then go with a 3 month or 6 month CD.

Being now one of the biggest banks, how does Wachovia cd rates match up with other banks cd rates like GMAC and Bank of America? Wachovia has been looking good lately and thats obvious by their 5 year cd which boasts a high return for those that can afford to fork out the $5000 at that nice rate. One of the best cd rates to add to our list? I think so.

For those who are looking for something a little shorter and not wanting to be tied down, you may want to try something else. Your going to fork out money no matter how you look at it whether you go for the nice paying Cd interst rate with a minimum of $2000 investment. As i mention last time though, you really don’t want to be stuck in a long term cd. Thats solely my own opinion. You have to choose whats best for you though.

Wachovia cd rates are definitely some of the best cd rates around, but there is a weighing factor just like anywhere else you go, and thats how long you are willing to stay tied down to a particular plan once you sign the dotted lines. Be sure however to check with your local Wachovia for the current cd rates to be sure.

We are all looking for growth and hoping for an increase in cd rates no matter what bank we are with. The fact is however that even world bank cd rates are not what they used to be. With the combination of Wachovia it still shows that with this economy it can be hard to find a good rate. There are some that boast 8% cd interest rates though, and if you can find that then you have a winner. It looks like most will not be even sharing more than 3% if you are fortunate.

Whether its world bank cd rates or some other bank like Bank of America who themselves have been posting losses this quarter, it may be good to stick with those 30 day cd rates or even 90 day cd rates as mentioned before. There are however current CD’s popping up which offer something more. one of those is the The World Energy CD which is based on the current growth and need for energy across the world.

Whether this will stimulate the growth of the economy or not waits to be seen. Right now it just seems like the best cd rates, and the highest cd rates are those that are not mentioned of so much because of a lack of popularity. We will just have to hold our horses for now and see how firms and groups employ a way to give back what was once there.

Citizens Bank offers some of the best cd rates. They offer standard rate Cd’s, circle rates cd’s, IRA Cd’s and also a gold circle Cd. They have the best cd rates from a lot of the current banks I have seen.

All Citizens bank cd rates are FDIC approved and are insured up to 100,000 dollars. They also offer high yields at a fixed price so that you can make sure its locked in.

Citizens bank is an old establishment and got its start back in the 1800’s. They are $160 billion commercial bank holding company. They are located in Rhode Island, and seem to be pretty stable.

I would definitely say they have some of the highest cd rates of many of the banks out there right now.
